12-07-23 | Pelicans v. Lakers UNDER 229.5 | Top | 89-133 | Win | 100 | 13 h 21 m | Show |
We've reached the semi-finals of the in-season tournament. This game will be played at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Lakers last game finished with only 209 points. Their previous game produced only 204. They are 9-5 to the under when listed as favorites. The Pelicans upset the Kings to get here. They are 6-2 to the under off a SU win as an underdog, 4-1 to the under off a win by 10 points or more. Neither team scores as many when away from its home floor. This game goes under. ***Western Conf. TOM*** |

12-07-23 | Patriots +6.5 v. Steelers | Top | 21-18 | Win | 100 | 59 h 6 m | Show |
Off a loss to Arizona, the Steelers are 3-3 over their last 6 games. All 3 of their wins came by 6 points or less. The Patriots lost by 14 at Miami in October. That's the only of their past 7 games which was decided by more than 6 points. Every other game has been ultra-close. The defense has allowed 10 points or less in 3 straight. That makes beating the Patriots by more than 6 points very difficult. The Patriots may score the fewest points but the Steelers aren't far behind. They average only 16 a game. A bad Steeler offense against a great New England defense. With the Steelers 0-5 against the spread the past 5 times that they were home favorites of 3.5 to 7, I'm happy to take the points. ***TNF GOM*** |

12-07-23 | Maple Leafs -122 v. Senators | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 11 m | Show |
You've heard me say it before. Anytime that the Maple Leafs are priced this low, I'm going to take a closer look. In this case, a closer look reveals that this is a strong spot. The Leafs are rested and playing with revenge from an earlier loss. Toronto was last in action on December 2nd, losing to Boston. The Leafs are 10-4 their past 14 tries with 3 or more day's rest. Over the same period, the Leafs are 50-29 after allowing 4 or more goals. Ottawa is 30-40 after scoring 4 or more and only 29-54 against winning teams. Throw in a 22-10 record for Toronto when playing with revenge from a home loss and you see why this play is so strong. ***Atlantic Division GOM*** |

12-06-23 | Heat v. Raptors UNDER 220 | Top | 112-103 | Win | 100 | 12 h 41 m | Show |
Long layoff will lead to early rust. The last 3 meetings have all gone to the under. The last time these teams played, the total was 219 but they combined for only 198 points. The game before that, they combined for 216. Before that, they combined for just 188. Miami road games are averaging 216 points this season, much lower than Miami home games. Seven of 12 away games have gone under and this one will too. ***Eastern Conf. TOW*** |

12-06-23 | Penguins v. Lightning -124 | Top | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 54 m | Show |
The Penguins beat the Lightning 4-2 last week. At the time, Tampa was mired in a losing streak. Since, the Penguins have dropped both ends of a home and home with the Flyers. They are 27-36 (-23.7) last 2 seasons, when off a division game. The Lightning snapped their losing streak last game with an important 4-0 revenge win over Dallas. Now 19-7 (+9.5) their last 26 December games, they will get another revenge win over the Penguins. ***Eastern Conf. GOM*** |

12-05-23 | Suns +1.5 v. Lakers | Top | 103-106 | Loss | -105 | 16 h 41 m | Show |
The Lakers have managed to win both of this season's games. That changes tonight. The Suns had Durant for the first 2 games but not Booker. Tonight, they'll have both. Booker is averaging 27.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 8.4 assists through 11 games. Each of the first 2 games were very close. Adding Booker to the Suns makes them far more dangerous than the team that LA saw in those first 2 games. The Lakers are 0-3 against the spread on the season, after allowing less than 100 points in their previous games. In two of those instances, they allowed more than 130 points in losing the next game. Booker, Durant and the Suns will take this one. ***Pacific Div. GOM*** |

12-05-23 | Kings v. Blue Jackets +1.5 | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 13 h 42 m | Show |
The Kings have been remarkable on the road but they won't be excited about a visit to Ohio. The Kings have played in Columbus 4 times the last 4 seasons. The Blue Jackets won the first by a 4-1 score. The last 3 games here all were tied after regulation. The Jackets ended up winning 2 of those. The last time that the Kings won a game here by more than 1 goal was back in 2017. The Blue Jackets have scored 18 goals in winning 3 of their last 4 at home. Columbus' Boone Jenner, who leads the team in goals said: "I think we've got to use the momentum when we have it." The Jackets will carry their home ice momentum into this one and have a strong chance of handing the Kings their first road loss. ***Non-Conf. GOW*** |

12-05-23 | Wisconsin v. Michigan State OVER 131 | Top | 70-57 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 46 m | Show |
I know this is a Big Ten game between two teams typically known for defense but this total is too low. The Badgers average 74 points a game. The Spartans average 74.9. The Spartans have scored at least 65 points in all 7 of their games. The Badgers have scored at least 65 in 7 of their 8 games. Though the one that they didn't reach 65 in came on the road, the Badgers are 15-8-1 to the over in road games past 2 seasons, 5-3 as road underdogs of 3.5 to 6 points. Both teams reached the 65 mark in the last meetings, a 69-65 win for the Spartans in January. Both teams will hit at least 65 again, the winning team exceeding that number. That will brings the final score over the total and the over to 6-3 the last 9 times that the Spartans played with 5 or 6 day's rest in between games. ***Big Ten TOY*** |

12-04-23 | Bengals +10 v. Jaguars | Top | 34-31 | Win | 100 | 12 h 29 m | Show |
The Bengals struggled in Browning's first start. He's gotten his feet wet now and will be better from the experience. He also expects to have Tee Higgins back, a luxury he didn't have against Baltimore. Browning, who did complete 19 of 26 passes for 227 yards against the Ravens, said this of Higgins: "Tee's one of the top receivers in the NFL. I don't think can really put into words how important he is to this offense ... there's just something that Tee brings the table being as big, as fast and having the experience he does, where it's always nice to have him and Ja'Marr on the outside." The Bengals are 15-7 against the spread their last 22 as underdogs. The Jaguars won by 3 last game and have only won one of their last 5 games by more than 10. Grab the points! **NFL GOW** |

12-04-23 | San Jose State v. North Dakota State -2.5 | Top | 78-83 | Win | 100 | 12 h 17 m | Show |
San Jose State hosted North Dakota State last week and won 78-65. The Spartans have since played 2 road games, losing them both. They may have some tired legs. The Bison haven't played since the loss at San Jose State. They are 6-4 straight-up the last 10 times that they played with revenge from a road loss, 62-40 their last 102. They are also 5-2 straight-up their last 7 when playing with 5 or 6 day's rest in between games, 50-24 their last 74. They will be the fresher team. The Spartans are 6-24 straight-up their last 30 road games, 0-7 when the total was in the 135 to 139.5 range. They are 5-56 their last 61 in that spot. Bison will have their revenge! ***CBB Revenge GOY*** |

12-04-23 | Celtics v. Pacers +5 | Top | 112-122 | Win | 100 | 12 h 57 m | Show |
The Celtics humbled them 155-104 at the beginning of November and the Pacers haven't forgotten! Indiana is 9-4, both straight up and against the spread, its last 13 times in the revenge role. The Pacers lost by 4, in OT, the last time that they hosted the Celtics. The previous meeting here saw Indiana win decisively. The Pacers are averaging 128.8 points a game, most in the league. They just beat Miami 144-129 and they are 14-8 against the spread the past 22 times that they were off a game where they scored 130 or more. Grab the points! ***Eastern Conf. GOM*** |

12-03-23 | Chiefs v. Packers OVER 42.5 | Top | 19-27 | Win | 100 | 14 h 56 m | Show |
If not for all the low-scoring primetime games, we could be looking at a higher Sunday Night total. As it is, we've got a nice low number. KC scored 31 last game. The game finished with 48 points. The Chiefs have scored 31 or more in 2 of their last 3 against the Packers. Green Bay scored 29 last game. Packers coach Matt LaFleur played things more aggressively after expressing remorse for previously being too conservative with his play-calling. The game finished with 51 points. That makes 3 straight GB games that have finished with at least 42 points. This one finishes with more than that! ***Non-Conf TOW*** |

12-03-23 | Avalanche v. Kings UNDER 6.5 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 14 h 47 m | Show |
Allowing only 2.35 goals per game, 2nd fewest in the NHL, Los Angeles has been an under team. The Kings last two game had scores of 4-0 and 2-1. They are 8-1-1 to the under their last 10 games. Colorado played last night. The game started high-scoring but had no goals from mid-way through the second period right up until the shootout. Last time that the Avalanche played for the 2nd time in 2 days, the final score was 3-1. This game goes under! ***WESTERN CONF TOY*** |

12-03-23 | Panthers v. Bucs OVER 36.5 | Top | 18-21 | Win | 100 | 56 h 1 m | Show |
Games between these teams at Carolina have been lower-scoring but games in Tampa have been higher-scoring. Carolina's last five visits to Tampa have finished with scores of 41, 63, 48, 58 and 54 points. The last 4 of those all went over the total. Last season's game at Carolina had 24 points but the game at Tampa had 54. This season, Tanpa games average 39.9 points. Carolina games average 42.2 points. Getting rid of Frank Reich can only help the offense. The emphasis will be on improving scoring. The final score will finish above the low total! ***NFC South TOY*** |

12-03-23 | Colts v. Titans +1 | Top | 31-28 | Loss | -110 | 73 h 7 m | Show |
These teams met in October, at Indianapolis. The Colts won. That's not surprising given that the Titans are 0-6 on the road. The Titans are an entirely different team here at home though. They're 4-1 in games at Tennessee. They have outscored teams by an average of 24.8 to 15 here. They are 4-1 against the spread the last 5 tries as a home underdog of 3 or less. The Colts recent wins have been against bad teams. They are 5-11 against the spread in divisional play their last 16. Give me Tennessee at home! **AFC South GOY** |

12-02-23 | Blazers v. Jazz OVER 221 | Top | 113-118 | Win | 100 | 13 h 17 m | Show |
This season's two games both went to the under. The last of those finished with 226 points and had a total of 228. The total for the first game was 230.5. We've got a lower number tonight, presenting us with a prime opportunity. The Jazz are 54-31 to the Over their last 85 in the revenge role. Their home games are averaging 237 points, 6 of 9 going over the total. Portland gives up 118 points a game against division foes. The Trailblazers are 13-7 to the over the last 20 times that their previous 3 games all went under. Under streaks end tonight, as this game produced points aplenty! ***Northwest Div. TOY*** |

12-02-23 | Michigan v. Iowa OVER 35 | Top | 26-0 | Loss | -110 | 76 h 21 m | Show |
Michigan averages 37.6 points a game. That's more than this total is set at. It's entirely possible that the Wolverines exceed this total all by themselves. They're favored by more than 3 touchdowns. So, they're going to expected to score more than that. Remember they scored at least 30 in every game but one. Iowa is all about defense. That we know. But the Hawkeyes also know that they will need to score points, if they want to avoid total embarrassment. The last meeting had 41 points and the one before that had 45. The 45-point game (42-3 Michigan) was right here in the Big 10 Championship game. Last year's Big 10 title game had 65 points. This game goes over the low number! |

12-02-23 | Red Wings -150 v. Canadiens | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show |
The Canadiens won 3-2 when they hosted the Red Wings on November the 9th. The Red Wings are a much stronger team and they are playing much better at the moment. They will have a chip on their shoulders for this Original 6 rematch. Since the Nov. 9 meeting, Montreal has really struggled. Detroit has been mostly winning. The Canadiens injury list is lengthy. They are 26-62 their last 88 tried against winning teams. The Red Wings will improve to 9-5 their last 14 in the revenge role! ***Revenge GOM*** |

12-02-23 | Miesha Tate v. Julia Avila -130 | Top | 1-0 | Loss | -130 | 28 h 54 m | Show |
Miesha Tate. She's a legend. She's taken on fighters like Amanda Nunes and Holly Holm. She's even fought Ronda Rousey. Twice. That's all in the past. Those Rousey fights (both losses) were back in 2012 and 2013. Tate retired in 2016. Out of the sport for 5 years, she returned in 2021. She's been outclassed in both fights since coming back and has now lost 4 of her last 5. Clearly, Tate is on the downside of her career. She probably should have never come back. Avila has been out of action due to a pregancy. She left at the top of her game though. She's a couple years younger than Tate and still believes her time is yet to come: Avila said: "I’m going to see this through and there’s going to be a title in my future." She fought really hard to get back and will build up her name by handing Tate her 3rd loss in a row. ***UFC Fight Of The Year*** |

12-02-23 | Missouri State v. Drake -6.5 | Top | 57-74 | Win | 100 | 8 h 44 m | Show |
Knowing that they got swept by them last season, the Bulldogs will be too much for the Bears this afternoon. Missouri State hasn't faced competition this good. The Bulldogs will be on of the top teams in the Missouri Valley Conf. again this season. They began conference play by crushing Valparaiso. Their 46-29 second half will act as a springboard into today's game. Bulldogs average 83 points at home. Bears average 68 points on the road. Drake wins by 10+! ***MVC GOM*** |

12-02-23 | Miami-OH v. Toledo UNDER 46.5 | Top | 23-14 | Win | 100 | 123 h 60 m | Show |
Miami is here because of defense. The RedHawks permit only 16.3 points a game. Toledo is also stout on defense. The Rockets concede 20.4 points a game. The regular season game finished with 38 points. The RedHawks held the Rockets scoreless in the second half but couldn't erase a 21-3 halftime deficit. Toledo was in this game last year and beat Ohio 17-7. That game finished way below the total. Defense rules the day once again! ***MAC TOY** |

12-02-23 | Wolverhampton Wanderers v. Arsenal UNDER 3 | Top | 1-2 | Push | 0 | 21 h 55 m | Show |
Arsenal has conceded only two goals in its past 6 matches. 4 clean sheets and a pair of 1-goal games. Wolverhampton has scored only once in its last 4 matches against Arsenal. Of the last 8 head-to-head matches, only 1 has produced more than 3 goals. Wolverhampton will play conservatively. Arsenal won't come anywhere close to matching the number of goals it had against Lens last game. One or two at most. That's all that will be required as Wolverhampton likely won't score at all. It's not easy to blow a team out two games in a row. Orlando hammered Washington a couple of days ago. It won't happen again! The Wizards have been at their best when off a bad loss. They're 71.4% against the spread when off a loss of 10 or more. Magic 12-15-1 against the spread last 28 when off a win of 10+. Washington coach Wes Unseld Jr: "We just have to get there with a little more urgency..." The Wizards will play with a sense of urgency and they will improve to 13-7 against the spread their last 20 tries after giving up 130+. **southeast GOY** |

The Jackets scored 2 last game which marked the third time in 4 games that they scored less than 3 goals. None of the last 9 meetings have exceeded 7 goals. Six games since 2022 have averaged less than 5 goals each. Under is 5-1 in Blue Jackets last 6 vs. a team with a losing record. The Gaels are 4-1 to the under last 5 tries, when playing a road game where the total is 145 to 149.5. Iona opened up MAAC Conference play with a 68-64 loss against Marist. They've failed to reach 70 in either of their road games. Fairfield is 8-4 to the under last 12 in December. Defense will rule the day! ***MAAC TOY*** |

11-30-23 | UC-Davis v. Oregon State -2.5 | Top | 59-71 | Win | 100 | 13 h 43 m | Show |
There's a big difference between the Pac-12 and the Big West. The Beavers will likely find things tough in their own conference. UC Davis may have more success within theirs. That makes winning this non-conference game a priority for the Beavers. They can't afford to squander opportunities against squads from lesser conferences. The Aggies are 0-3 against the spread the past 3 tries as road underdogs of 3 or fewer points. The last time that the Beavers were favored, they won by 10 points, when laying -2.5. The Cowboys have been clobbering bad teams. The Seahawks aren't a bad team though and Dallas has far more trouble with better teams. Dallas is only 4-8 against the spread last 12 against winning teams. The Cowboys also have a very big game upcoming against the Eagles next week. Off their Thanksgiving Day romp and looking ahead to that game, Seattle could be overlooked. Seattle is 7-3 against the spread last 10 tries after losing 2 or more games in a row. I can understand that some bettors don't like taking a team like the Pistons. Personally, I don't like to pass up opportunities. The Pistons got blown out last night. That has allowed us to get a couple of extra points. Detroit doesn't mind playing 2 games in 2 days though. They have been in that situation 4 times this season. They won 1 game and the other 3 losses all came by 11 or less. They almost upset Denver. They are 17-13-1 against the spread in back to back situations the last 2 years. The Knicks have a division road game tomorrow night. They will be tested. Grab the points! ***Eastern Conf GOW*** |

11-30-23 | Fairleigh Dickinson v. Fordham UNDER 159 | Top | 52-80 | Win | 100 | 10 h 1 m | Show |
This is a very high total considering that the Rams are a good defensive team. They allow 67.5 points a game and a 41% field goal percentage. They are 15-7 to the under the past 22 tries when the total ranges from 150 to 159.5. The Knights are not very good defensively, the reason for such a high total. The Knights can play defense though. We saw that last March. Remember, this team shocked the world and held Purdue to 58 points in the NCAA Tournament last year. Look for the under to more to 7-3 last 10 times that Fordham scored 80 or more in the previous game. ***CBB TOW*** |

11-29-23 | Jazz v. Grizzlies -4 | Top | 91-105 | Win | 100 | 11 h 13 m | Show |
The Grizzlies are going to really want this game. They're still winless at home and need to fix that. They're also 0-2 against Utah already this season. They're going to want to fix that, too. Adding to the revenge angle, the most recent of those games had some controversy. Memphis player Jared Jackson got ejected with a double-technical. Coach Jenkins said: "One of the most poorly officiated games I've ever seen," which led to him being fined $25,000 by the NBA. He went on to say: "Our team is competing their tails off, and this is what happens? The interaction right now with the officials, complete disrespect. It's unbelievable. ... I don't understand it." Grizzlies are 40-30-2 against the spread in the revenge role last 2 years, 12-8-2 against the spread when avenging a home loss. They will improve to 16-8 against the spread their last 24, after scoring 100 or less. ***Revenge GOM*** |

11-29-23 | Tarleton St v. Stephen F Austin -8.5 | Top | 68-66 | Loss | -112 | 10 h 17 m | Show |
Stephen Austin has a very well-coached team and the program has a lot of pride. They beat Drake but then got blown out by Utah State. That won't sit well. Off its previous loss, SFA won its next game by 26 points. The Lumberjacks are bigger, stronger and more experienced than last year. Importantly, they're also healthier. Last season, they dealt with a lot of injury problems. That isn't an issue so far this season. The Lumberjacks are better than the Texans in the frontcourt and also in the backcourt. They're a team destined to finish near the top of the WAC, Tarleton State should finish near the basement. Texans are 1-7 against the spread last 8 tries when playing with 5 or 6 day's rest. Orlando has been rolling but Charlotte is also a lot better than people realize. Myles Bridges has made a big difference. The Hornets are off back to back victories, of those coming against Boston. LaMelo Ball is playing his best. Ball had 34 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds last game. That's 7 times in 9 games that he's scored 30 or more. Bridges said this of Ball: "He's playing at an unbelievable level. He's made the leap into being a superstar. He was an All-Star, but now he's a superstar. If he's not on any of the All-NBA teams I'll be surprised. He's a winner." The Hornets are 5-1 against the spread the past 6 times that they played with 3 or more day's rest. The Titans gave up 34 points last week; the 6th straight time that they've allowed 20 or more. Carolina allowed 33 last game. That was the 4th time that the Panthers gave up 33 or more in their last 8 games. The Titans have scored 27 or more in 3 of their 4 home games. Their last game here finished with more than 50 points. It also came against an NFC South opponent. This one flies over the low total! ***NFL TOTAL OF THE YEAR*** |

I could've protected the ball better, but there are a lot of (instances) where I could've done things to not be in those situations, whether it's footwork or your reads or your progressions." The Falcons are 3-1 at home this season with Ridder starting. Last season's games were both decided by 3 or less and the game here at Atlanta was decided by a single point. The Saints are only 7-15-1 against the spread their last 23 as favorites, 2-5-1 as road favorites of a field goal or less. Falcons are already 2-0 within the division. Baylor is playing for pride. Its the Bears' last game and it means a lot. West Virginia is already guaranteed a bowl. Baylor coach Dave Aranda knows that the Bears and their fans can really use a victory: "For the team, it would be a relief. It would be validation for working hard. When anything negative happens, you fight the attachment to all the negative things of the past. We're fighting that fight right now, and to get a win would be a victory over that." The Mountaineers have been road favorites four times the last few seasons. They were 1-3 against the spread. They were road favorites once this season and lost outright at Houston. They lost at Lubbock in Overtime last year and will get revenge from that game. Red Raiders are 2-5 against the spread last 7 tries on the road with total of 49.5 to 56. Texas is 3-0-1 against the spread last four tries at home with a total of 49.5 to 56. The Jets defense is better than Miami's defense. The Jets are 6-3 against the spread the last 9 times that they were off a division loss. Last meeting was decided by 5 points. The Rams have their number but the Seahawks will bounce back with a big effort on Thanksgiving! Seattle has won 8 of the past 10 home meetings against San Francisco. The two losses came by an average of 6.5 points. Pete Carroll likes Geno Smith's chances of starting: “"They’re taking a look at it but they pretty much know what’s going on there. It’s just see how soon it settles down. Like I said, it’s a good sign that he’s functional so that’s not the issue, so it’s just how sore he is. He’ll make it back." SF, which has a revenge game against the Eagles on deck, is 3-2 on the road. Seattle is 4-1 at home. The 49ers might fare better in the Dec. 10th rematch but Seattle is the right way to go on Thursday. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving! |

11-23-23 | Packers v. Lions -7.5 | Top | 29-22 | Loss | -110 | 29 h 31 m | Show |
Detroit fans have been waiting for a long time for this. A Thanksgiving Day game where they've got a good team and where they can count on a big win. That day is here! The Lions are the real deal. The Packers are not. I've had this opinion from Day 1. This is what I said prior to Detroit's 34-20 win at Lambeau in September: Its early but this game will likely go a long way in ultimately determining the division champion. After years of suffering, Detroit and its fans desperately want this. You can't always get what you want but in this case, the Detroit faithful will finally be rewarded. The Lions have been stockpiling talent over the years and now have a better team than the Packers. That's why they're small favorites, despite the game being played at Lambeau. You may be surprised to learn that the Lions are 10-2 ATS their last 12 divisional games. They're also 3-0 ATS their past three Thursday night games. The Lions, who already won at Arrowhead, have arguably faced stiffer competition than the Packers. They'll find a way to win this game and to seize early control of the division. ***NFC North GOY Now the Lions get to complete the sweep in front of the entire country. Their time has come. They are 16-6 against the spread their last 22 home games. They had a 211-27 edge in rushing yards in the first meeting! As they were in September, they will be too much for the Packers to handle! ***NFC North GOM |

After playing 3 games in 4 days, the Hawks got a nice break. They are coming in rested and ready to go. After this comes Brooklyn and then a long stretch on the road. It's imperative that the Hawks make hay while the sun is shining. The Pacers can't be trusted on the road. They are getting outscored by an average score of 132.7 to 121.7 in their away games. The Hawks scored 143 against them last meeting here! They will drop a massive number on this defensively challenged team once again. Indiana will score a lot, just not enough. Last week, I won with Eastern Michigan Over the total, an easy 30-27 final score against Akron. This week, I will look to fade Eastern Michigan on the road. The Eagles are only 2-4 against the spread as underdogs. Eastern Michigan, 5-1 at home but 0-5 on the road, gets outscored by an average of 28 to 13 in away games. The Bulls beat this team 50-31 last year. The Eagles want that 6th win but they won't get it. The Bulls will show they've still got some pride and close out their season with a big win. ***MAC GOW*** |

They are 21-7 to the under, last 28 games with a total with 5 or 6 day's rest in between games. Tulane allowed only 57 points last game. The Chiefs won when it really counted but the Eagles will exact a little revenge tonight. The Chiefs are only scoring 23.1 points a game this season. The Eagles score 28. The Eagles have only lost once all season. They were winning that game entering the 4th quarter and had a big edge in yards and first downs. The Chiefs have two losses and they've had a few close wins. Remember, the Eagles were ahead 27-21 entering the 4th quarter in the Super Bowl. They've been waiting for this day. They're 7-3 against the spread the last 10 times they were off a division win. This night will belong to them! ***MNF GOM*** |

In today's NBA, this is a very low total. The reason for the low total is that both are low-scoring teams. They also just played a low-scoring game. But if we look at the numbers, Miami games average 219.2 points and Chicago games average 217.7 points. Last two years, Miami is 51-42 to the over after allowing 105 or fewer points. Before Saturday's game, Miami had played 9 straight games which reached at least 210 points. This game will be much higher-scoring than Saturday's and will finish over the low total! ***Eastern Conf TOM*** |

A lot of things would need to fall into place but it's not inconceivable that these teams could face each other in the Stanley Cup Finals. I'll just focus on tonight. Here's the setup. The Rangers are on a winning streak. The Stars just blew a 3-0 lead in their last game which snapped their winning streak. That result will give Dallas some extra hunger. Before the Colorado loss, the Stars had allowed 3 or fewer goals in 9 straight. They still average 4.6 goals over their last 5 games. They are 43-22 (+15) last 65 after allowed 4 goals or more, 2-0 this season. Sorry Ranger fans, Dallas takes this one! ***Non-Conf GOW*** |

The Aztecs are always good. Last year, they had a deep NCAA Tournament run. They're going to be a solid again. They're not unbeatable though and they're a team that doesn't always score that many points, which leads to close games. Who could forget their dramatic 1-point wins in last year's tournament. The Huskies followed up a close loss to Nevada with a close win against Xavier. Off that victory, Washington coach Mike Hopkins said afterward: "Sometimes shots don't fall, sometimes foul shots don't fall, but you got to keep fighting," "We won this game because we were tough. We rebounded. We got stops when we had to get stops and that's why we won. That's why I was so proud of these guys. They kept fighting. It wasn't perfect, but they just kept fighting." The Thunder got destroyed in their only previous division game. The Thunder won all 4 meetings last season. All four games were won by 9 or fewer points though and 3 of them were decided by 6 or less, 2 by 3 or less. Really close games from these division rivals! 11-19-23 | Jets v. Bills -7 | Top | 6-32 | Win | 100 | 50 h 30 m | Show |
The Bills really shot themselves in the foot last week. What were they even doing in that close a game in the first place? Rest assured, they will emerge stronger from the experience. The Bills will be a team on a mission this week. Nobody will get in their way. Not the stumbling Jets, who scored 18 combined points in losing their last 2 games. The Jets average 16 points a game, the Bills average more than 26. The Jets are 1-4 against the spread (0-5 straight-up) in five tries when the total was between 35.5 to 42. The Bills are 5-2-1 against the spread (7-1 straight up) last 8 when up against an opponent with a losing record in the second half of the season. This will not be a friendly environment! 11-19-23 | Titans v. Jaguars OVER 39.5 | Top | 14-34 | Win | 100 | 47 h 10 m | Show |
Neither defense is pitching many shutouts these days. Tennessee has allowed 20 or more points in 5 straight games. Jacksonville allowed 34 last game and has given up at least 20 in 4 of 5 games. The Titans only division game finished with 39 points but the Jaguars' three divisional games have finished with 52, 54 and 57 points. The Titans like to play conservatively at times but they will have to throw caution to the wind if they want to keep up with the Jaguars. Five of the last 7 meetings finished with more than 40 points and last year's 2 games averaged 47. This one goes OVER! ***AFC South TOY*** |

Bucks coach Adrian Griffin said the following after last night's big victory: "I love how we shared the ball and moved the ball and we're looking for each other. Colorado is still a really good team but the Stars are simply better right now. They are playing at a different level and with more consistency. They have outscored last 4 opponents by a 20-10 score. They've got more depth and they are playing at home. The Stars have one of the best goalies in the world, the Avalanche have some concerns in net. The Stars are 13-3 in their last 16 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game. They will keep their winning streak going! ***Central Div. GOM*** |

11-18-23 | Old Dominion v. Georgia Southern UNDER 61 | Top | 20-17 | Win | 100 | 74 h 48 m | Show |
Lots of room to work with here. The Eagles have been involved in some recent high-scoring games, driving this week's total up. They will be up against a low-scoring team here. The Monarchs only scored 10 points last game. They average 24.4 points a game but that average comes down to 21.2 points per game on the road. Last year was the first meeting. The total was in the 60s but the score was 28-23. The Monarchs likely won't be as successful passing the ball in this game as they were in that one. The Eagles ran the ball 50 times. They will keep the clock moving again and the final score will stay below the big total! ***Sun Belt TOY*** |

11-18-23 | Texas State v. Arkansas State +4 | Top | 31-77 | Win | 100 | 71 h 53 m | Show |
This game is bigger for the Red Wolves than it is the Bobcats. Texas State is already bowl eligible, for the first time in nine seasons. With a win on Saturday afternoon, Arkansas State will become bowl eligible for the first time in four seasons. Doing so against a Texas State team which lately always seems to narrowly defeat them will be extra sweet. The Red Wolves have been playing their best football the past few weeks. They lost at South Alabama last week. With an advantage in first downs, they covered the spread in that game. Before that, they'd won 2 games in a row by 10 and 20 points. The last 3 meetings have all been by 3 or less., each by Texas State. Arkansas State led 10-3 going into the 4th quarter last year but found a way to close. Not this year. It would have been the hottest ticket in town if these teams faced each other earlier in the season. Colorado was the talk of the league and Washington State was also red hot. Everything changed. Both teams got brought down to size. Both teams will still really want this one though. Each is anxious to get back on track. That will make for a good game. Colorado still gets the hype because of Sanders. The Cougars are at home though and are the superior team. WSU quarterback Cameron Ward took some responsibility for last week's loss after he fumbled three times and had two returned for TDS. (He also threw for 358 yards and three touchdowns.) "I feel like I've grown in ball security, especially these two years once I first got here to Washington State but it showed up again that it's something that I gotta continuously work on. Any time you put your team in a situation like I did, it's hard to fight out of, and we did. We did end up doing that. But we didn't execute enough plays as a whole to win this game." Colorado is only 2-13 its last 15 road games. Ward will clean up the fumbles tonight and he will lead his team to a win and cover! ***pac 12 GOW*** |

The Celtics are definitely playing well but they've got a few question marks for tonight. Brown and Porzingis are questionable. Horford is probable but not 100%. Those are 3 important players to this team. Even if all 3 go, they could play at less than their usual potential. Regardless of what lineup the Celtics ultimately settle on, they are going to face a very competitive Toronto team. The Raptors just got blown out by the Bucks. They are 20-14 against the spread their past 34 times they were off a loss of 10 or more points, 21 outright wins. Over the same period, they are 49-42 against the spread in the revenge role, 54-40 against teams with a winning record. Boston is only 30-39 against the spread against losing teams over that time. Both the Celtics losses have come on the road. The Celtics allow 108.7 points on the road and the Raptors allow 108.8 at home. The last time Boston played here, it was a 2-point game. Boston College is a fraud, that's why! The Eagles were exposed last week. They got outgained by a 600 to 262 yardage mark! That was against Virginia Tech - not a team like Georgia or Michican. The Kings played great defense and allowed only 98 points in their last game. The 105-98 scored stayed below the total by a country mile. It was the 4th time in 5 games that Sacramento had scored 105 or fewer points. A big reason for the scoring woes is that De'Aaron Fox continues to have the same doubtful status that he's had for some time: "Fox has been diagnosed with a right ankle sprain and is unlikely to take the court for the Kings." He's supposed to be out until late November. Last year, Fox played in the first meeting and it was high-scoring. He didn't play in the second and the Kings and Cavaliers combined for only 201 points. The Jets defense is pretty good but they still allow 19.5 points per game. The Raider defense allows 21.4 points a game. Last time these teams met they scored 59 points. The total was 48.5. An under streak by the Giants has allowed for a very low total. The Week 1 meeting had a total of 44.5. This one is below 40. That's too low, even with the sorry state of the Giants. Tommy DeVito may be just what the Giants need for a game to go over. He went 15-of-20 for 175 yards with a touchdown in relief. He may help the Giants offense but he could also turn the ball over and give Dallas easy points. The Cowboy's last game finished with 51 points. The Cowboys' previous game finished with 63 points. Seven of the Cowboys' 8 games have produced 40 or more points. The other had 37. The Cowboys might go over this total by themselves but they won't need to. *** NFC East TOY |

Detroit does come in fresh, as last week was a bye. The Chargers are playing their best football now though and the Lions are playing thousands of miles away from home. The line has climbed and we're getting a lot of points with a very competitive North Texas team. Since a bad loss back in Week 1, before they really got their feet on the ground, the Mean Green have been in every game. Since that Week 1 loss, their other 5 losses have all come by 8 points or less. They could easily have won some of those and are better than their record indicates. After some big wins, the Mustangs had trouble with Rice last game, winning by only 5. The Mean Green aren't as good as SMU on defense. They do score 34.8 points a game though and have shown that they can keep up with just about anyone. They're 12-5 against the spread their last 17 road games and that includes a 2-0 against the spread record as road underdogs of 14.5 to 21 points. Overall, they are 5-2 against the spread their last 7 tries as an underdog of 10.5 to 21 points. Better yet, the Mean Green are 8-1 against the spread the past 9 times that they were off a conference loss. With a big game at Memphis on deck, SMU could be looking ahead. I've stated previously that when you can get the Leafs at home at this price, you do it. That goes even more so when facing an inconsistent opponent like Calgary. The Flames won a couple lately but they're going to be in trouble this season. The Leafs are 49-28 after allowing 4 or more goals. They are also 30-14 last 44 times that they were off a loss of 2 more goals. Calgary gets outscored 4.0 to 2.7 on the road. Leafs own the Flames and swept them last year. They will win again. ***Non-Conf. GOW |

11-09-23 | Bucks -3.5 v. Pacers | Top | 124-126 | Loss | -115 | 12 h 49 m | Show |
Both teams won last night. The Bucks won a close one and the Pacers won a blowout. Milwaukee is better suited to play two games in two days. The Bucks' only against the spread victory came the only previous time that they played the second back-to-back games. The Pacers lost outright to Charlotte when they previously played the second of back-to-back games this season. It's only November 9th but this will already be Indiana's 6th game this month. The Bucks have played one less this month and this season. In this back-to-back situation, that extra game will contribute to Indiana's tired legs. The Bucks are 6-2 against the spread their last 8 against the Pacers, a perfect 4-0 in games played at Indiana. Go Bucks! ***Central Div GOY |

The Kings are the much better team and they will blow out the TrailBlazers tonight. They beat Portland 138-114 last meeting and 120-80 the previous meeting. The one before that was a 17-point win for Sacramento. Portland is a terrible 43-68 against the spread in the underdog role the last 2 years. Kings are 18-7 against the spread their last 25 times that they were off 3 or more losses in a row. Sacramento in a blowout! ***western conf. GOW |

Both teams brought back quality scorers. Troy also lost a number of top defenders. Troy scored 92 points in its opening game but the defense wasn't tested against a weak opponent. Ohio will put up significantly more. The Bobcats averaged 83.5 points per home game last season. Over is 6-1 the last 7 that Ohio was at home and total was between 145 and 149.5. Over will improve to 5-1 last 6 times that Troy faced a MAC opponent. **Nov TOM |

11-07-23 | Central Michigan +3 v. Western Michigan | Top | 28-38 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 11 m | Show |
I am grabbing the points with Central Michigan. The Chippewas scored 37 points to beat Northern Illinois in their last game. They've won four of their last 6. The Broncos are also off a win. Each of their previous wins has been followed by a bad loss and a 3-game losing streak. Western Michigan is bad defensively. The Broncos allow 32.8 points a game. That's tied with Kent State for the most points allowed per game in the MAC. The Chippewas won 42-30 the last time they played here. They're 6-2 against the spread their last 8 games in November and 10-4 against the spread the last 14 times that they were underdogs. They still need to win to become bowl eligible but Western Michigan realistically gave up dreaming about a bowl weeks ago. Go CMU! ***mac GOY |

This total is simply too low. It's by far the lowest these teams have had against each other over the last 10 meetings. The Cardinals average 45.1 points in their game. The Huskies average 48. Ball State's last game finished with 45. NIU's last game finished at 68! Last year's game finished with 82 points. The 2021 game had 59 points. The 2020 game had 51. 11-06-23 | Chargers v. Jets OVER 39.5 | Top | 27-6 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 10 m | Show |
The Chargers can score points with the best of them but they often can't stop the other team from doing the same thing. Their games average 48.9 points. Nine of their 10 games in 2023 have finished above the 40 point mark. The other one nearly did, landing on 37. The Chargers and Jets last faced each other in November of 2020, Justin Herbert's rookie year. The total was set at 47. The game finished with 62 points! Herbert threw for 366 yards (277 in the first half!) and three touchdowns. Keenan Allen set a franchise-record 16 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. Though this Jets defense is better than that one, Herbert will have success again tonight. This will be the Jets' third game against AFC West teams this season. The first two finished with 43 and 52 points, both going over. This one will do the same! ***MNF toy |

11-06-23 | Lightning v. Maple Leafs -145 | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 1 m | Show |
Tampa is a good team but Toronto will not be denied tonight. Actually, a visit from Tampa is going to be just what the struggling Maple Leafs need. This is a rematch from the first round of last year's playoffs. The Leafs eliminated the Lightning and ended a 19-year playoff drought by winning the series. The Lightning are 1-5 in their last 6 games vs. Atlantic Division teams. They are also 1-4 in their last 5 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in its previous game. The Leafs have beaten this team 5 of the past 6 meetings and they will agains tonight. *** Atlantic Div. GOM |

When the Bengals and Bills played each other in the playoffs, the weather wasn't good. There was lots of snow and the temperature was below zero. Despite the conditions and despite playing without some pieces of their offense, the Bengals still put up big 27 points and more than 400 yards. The Bills couldn't get going until it was too late. No snow in tonight's rematch and both offenses will benefit. Bills are averaging more than 30 points their last 2 road games and 27.8 points a game on the season. Bengals started slowly on offense this season but have gone over the 30 mark in 2 of their last 3. Last nine games Bills were underdogs all went over. Scores of 78, 54, 60, 58, 62, 82, 60, 62 and 78! Having set records for an expansion team, it's been a dream season for St. Louis. Sadly for CITY SC fans, it comes to an end Sunday. Kansas City went on the road and delivered a decisive 4-1 victory. Unless St. Louis can win this game, which would force a November 11th tiebreaker, the dream season is over. The players are talking a good game but winning on the road is not going to be easy. Kansas City was the better team in the first game and there's no reason to think that won't be the case once again. Both clubs are far stronger at home which makes having won on the road such a big deal. With a chance to close it out in front of their home fans, St. Louis gets it done! ***mls playoff goy |

11-05-23 | Cowboys v. Eagles -3 | Top | 23-28 | Win | 100 | 56 h 57 m | Show |
Big battle in Philadelphia! This is a heated rivalry and both teams come in hot. The Eagles have the significant advantage of playing at home. They're 3-0 here. Dallas is 2-2 on the road. The home team won both meetings last year. Cowboys by 6 at Dallas. Eagles by 9 at Philadelphia. The Cowboys are good at beating on the weak and mediocre teams. The last time they played a team currently with a winning record, they got destroyed! Heck, this team even lost by 12 at Arizona! The Eagles lost a close one against a really good Jets defense but otherwise have had no such slip-ups. Last time they took on a top level team, they throttled Miami. This season's seven wins have come by an average of more than eight points. Six of the wins were by 5 or more points and all 6 came by at least a field goal. Lay the points with the Eagles! ***nfc east goy |

11-04-23 | UCLA -2.5 v. Arizona | Top | 10-27 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 17 m | Show |
The Bruins have been waiting for this game as they have a score to settle. Last year, the Wildcats came to Pasadena and scored a major upset. The Bruins were ranked #12 at the time and the loss effectively eliminated any chance that they might make the College Playoff. This year's Bruins are arguably better on both sides of the ball. Arizona has a reasonably good defense but UCLA's defense is on another level. The Wildcats allow 21 points a game. The Bruins allow 15 points a game. Arizona allows 342.1 yards a game. UCLA allows an average of only 277 yards a game! On offense, UCLA averages 467.4 yards a game. Arizona averages 441.4 yards. The Bruins are a dominant 7-1 against the spread the past eight times that they were listed as road favorites. Their superior defense will be the difference. ***pac 12 goy |

All finished with 5 goals or less. Those were the scores from the last 6 meetings between the Avalanche and the Knights. No Western Conference team has allowed less goals than Colorado. Vegas would be right there but has played two more games. These teams are hard to score agaisnt. The Under is 6-0-1 in Colorado's last 7 games when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game. Under is also 6-1 in Colorado's last 7 vs. Pacific Division teams. 11-04-23 | Iowa v. Northwestern OVER 30 | Top | 10-7 | Loss | -110 | 31 h 30 m | Show |
I get it. These are bad offenses. Plus, Iowa has a really good defense. Knowing that a lot of bettors will like the under at any line and that few will play the over in this game, the oddsmakers have had to post a really low total. Too low! Northwestern just combined with Maryland for 60 points. QB Sullivan, who has breathed life into the Wildcat offense, passed for 265 yards (2 touchdowns) and ran for another 56. Iowa scored 33 points in last year's game, nearly going over the total of 37 by itself. Final score was 33-13. The Hawkeyes just announced that their offensive coordinator (Brian Ferentz) won't be back next year. They're going to want to show that their offense is better than people think. A Wildcat team that gives up an average of 29.5 points per game over their last 6 will allow for that! Northwestern's last football at Wrigley Field? a 47-point affair against Purdue. The Cowboys are an entirely different team at home than they are on the road. They've won all five at home but lost all three on the road. Those road games came at Boise, Air Force and Texas. None of those are easy places to win. Off consecutive road games, the Cowboys will be thrilled to be back home! They've beaten some decent teams here, including Texas Tech, App State and Fresno State. They will have no trouble disposing of a weak CSU club. I did back the Rams against UNLV but they've followed that up by getting crushed. They won't be ready for this difficult venue! The Cowboys won by 14 points last time they hosted CSU and by 10 before that. They win big again tonight! ***mwc gom |

This is what I said before Cleveland's last game: "The Knicks beat up on the Cavaliers last night in Cleveland. As they say, turnabout is fair play. With a chance to immediately right that wrong, the Cavaliers will elevate their intensity for the rematch ... They start the new month with an upset." Sure enough. The Cavaliers delivered me an upset victory, holding NY to 89 points. Once again, they get an early chance to exact some revenge against a team which has already beaten them. The Pacers caught them in a back-to-back situation the first game but that's not happening this time. The Cavaliers won by 19 last time they were on this floor and they'll win again tonight! ***eastern conf gow |

This is a bad spot for the Spurs. They just stunned the Suns a couple of days ago. The Suns let them hang around and the Spurs took advantage with a last second victory. Rest assured, the Suns won't make the same mistake twice. It's a new month and these teams are going to go in opposite directions, starting tonight. The Spurs were 10-18 against the spread the past two Novembers, winning only five games straight-up. The Suns were 20-11 against the spread the past two Novembers, 26 of those resulting in outright victories. The Suns have been at their best off an upset loss the last 2 years. They're 21-11 against the spread in that situation. Expect a decisive victory! ***nov gom |

11-02-23 | Titans v. Steelers -2.5 | Top | 16-20 | Win | 100 | 11 h 12 m | Show |
Much of the talk will focus on the quarterbacks. That's obviously important. Things like the Steelers getting back Cameron Heyward are also very important but will be mostly glossed over. He makes their run defense better. TJ Watt said this: "He's a difference-maker. He really is. He's been doing it for a long time. A guy that's played in this matchup more than a few times himself, and anytime you can plug in a player like him, it's going to make a difference, no matter what." Back to the QB's. The Titans' rookie had a big debut but he will find things more difficult on a short week, on the road, at Pittsburgh. The Titans are only 1-5 against the spread their last 6 games against teams from the AFC North. The Steelers are 13-6-1 against the spread the past 20 times that the played with a line ranging from +3 to -3. The Steelers are also 4-0 their last four against against the Titans. The Trojans have owned the "Battle Of The Belt" rivalry for five years and the Jaguars are determined to put an end to that. This is an experience South Alabama team. They aren't where they want to be but a win here will go a long way. Don't forget that they went on the road and won 33-7 at Oklahoma State. The Jaguars score 33.5 points a game. The Trojans score 27.1. The Trojans are 0-2 against the spread when playing a home game with a total in the 42.5-49 point range. They are only 7-14 against the spread their last 21 in that situation. Yesterday's game was over before it started. Texas was up 10-0 by the second innings. Arizona scored six runs in the eighth and ninth but by then it was too late to matter. Today's game will play out much differently. Yesterday was a bullpen game. Today, the Diamondbacks have their ace on the mound. Gallen has been super at home all season long. He was 12-3 with a 2.47 ERA here. In a division with the Dodgers and the Padres, Arizona wasn't ever supposed to get here. The Diamondbacks, who hit Eovaldi well (5 runs, 4.2 innings) when they faced him, have been defying the odds all year long though, Gallen leading the way. They're the definition of resilient. They likely will not become the 7th team in history to come all the way back from a 3-1 WS deficit, but they'll at least force a Game 6! *** playoff goy |

You don't regularly get totals in the 30s for MAC Conference games. Not between these teams at least! When they faced each other last year, the O/U line was 62.5. The 2021 meeting had an O/U line of 72.5! The year before that, the total was "only" 60 and the Golden Flashes and Zips combined to score 104 points! Six of the past seven meetings, including each of the three I mentioned, have produced at least 38 points. This year, Kent State games average 45.5 points. Akron games average 44.8 points. Last night's MAC games both finished well above this number. The Buffalo/Toledo game had zero fourth quarter points, due to the blowout nature of the score, but the game still finished with 44. The other game (Central Michigan / Northern Illinois) finished with 68. This number is too low! ***mac TOM |

All resulted in Arizona victories. All resulted in games that fell under the total. Scherzer is an all-time great. He's 5-0 in six appearances at Arizona and he allowed 1 run or less in 3 of those. Bears have scored 28 or more in 3 of their last 4. Their last road game resulted in a 40-20 win. Over is now 6-1 in Chicago games. The Bears are going to keep scoring. Both teams have been involved in some low-scoring games, keeping and bringing the total down. This represents the lowest total for a Viking game all season. Both are still seeing their games average greater than 43 though. Jordan Love has gone through some growing pains of late but a game against a mediocre Viking defense will give him a chance to get right. He'll have to be effective to keep pace with Cousins. The Vikings just threw for 378 yards (452 overall) against SF! Minnesota's last 3 visits to Lambeau have produced 58, 47 and 50 points. The 76'ers are 91-34 from a straight-up perspective the past 125 times that they were favored. They're more talented than the Raptors and they'll have much fresher legs.
