Taking the PIRATES. How the heck is San Diego getting this kind of respect? I mean - I get it, Pirates in a free fall since their hot start. But have the Padres really done enough to be this big a road favorite? They are under .500 on the season and on the road. Darvish has a road ERA of 6.16 in 7 starts. I will also be on the UNDER in this game as well San Diego has trouble hitting on the road (4th worse all MLB .223) and slightly better vs lefties (.253) Pirates find themselves slumping a bit offensively, but Darvish will give up enough for us to get the win here. 4* Money Maker PITTSBURGH PIRATES

Taking TEXAS, going RUN LINE. Yeah. Tough spot off the Yankees series. But I firmly believe that the Rangers are a good team. And a good team should take care of a bad team. Tigers are what, 10 games under on the season and 7 under on the road? Texas is a first place team that is 24-13 at home, cashing the same 24-13 record on the RL. Matthew Boyd is not a top flight lefty. I am not sold on his very good road splits. He faced some rather poor offenses in my opinion. Nothing like this lineup he gets tonight. Rangers are hitting .290 vs lefties. Heaney has had 2 bad starts on the season, both here at home. Opening day, the Orioles tagged him in 2+ innings - then the Diamondbacks got him. His other 12 starts on the year - 3 ERs or less in them all., And 8 of them 2 or less. Tigers overall - 26th in MLB .229 BA and DEAD LAST on the road hitting .215. Rangers at home .285 with 61 HRs. 4* RL Money TEXAS RANGERS

Going UNDER the total here on Sunday night. Gonsolin with a tidy .180 BA against in his home starts with a 1.02 ERA. Hunter Brown also effective on the road posting a .222 BAA and 1.10 WHIP. Astros hitters before the Saturday game. Even if any of these guys go 4-4 Saturday, they are still slumping Altuve is mired in a 1-15 .067 slide - .083 for Abreu 1-12 -- How about Kyle Tucker 3-18 .167? Jeremy Pena .200 3-18.. See a trend. That is basically the heart of your order right now. Houston with the 9th least amount of road runs on the year. We know Gonsolin will go 5 or 6 and give up a run. As bad as LAD is in bullpen, I can't see the Astros scoring 4 against them. 4* Total Money UNDER Astros/ Dodgers

Taking WASHINGTON. Yeah. This is a big hold your nose play. Coming into Saturday action the Nats had dropped 15 of their last 18 games. Yikes. But there is zero chance I am backing Lugo at this price, ML or RL. Guy has a .303 BA Against here at home. If opposing hitters are raking at a 300 clip against, sign me up. I am sure it would shock many to hear that Washington is 6th in all of MLB in team batting average. Normally not what you think of a team 20 games under .500 or however close they are to that. Nats countering with ex Padre prospect MacKenzie Gore. The young lefty has been solid all season. Obviously for him his .226 BA Against while on the road is a big factor here. Couple with the fact that San Diego cannot hit lefties for a lick. - How about a .221, 3rd worse in all of MLB. No team is ever due to win or lose - but I think we have the edge on the mound and at this price, we are firing. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS

--- For those who purchased this pick Saturday, Take UNDER Houston/Dodgers 8.5 for Sunday Brown vs Gonsolin --- Well... Wacha gets pushed back... This is a void for me since I bet it last night with listed pitchers --- Going UNDER the total. We will start with the rebirth of Wacha. Guy has been dealing all season. 14 games, a 1.05 WHIP, 2.90 ERA. The guy has found his 1st Round Draft pick form again. What an odd career, but when he is on, guy is a decent pitcher. And that is what he has been all season. Home especially - 8 starts, a .201 BA Against, 1.05 WHIP tidy 2.52 ERA. A nice June 4, starts 4 runs in 23.1 innings 13 hits allowed. On the Nats. We think Nats, we think bad. But they have some good young pieces. Gray is one of them. A solid season overall, but the road splits bring us the Under here. 9 games - 2.73 ERA. He hasn't had a good month at all. 4 runs 4 runs 6 runs in 3 of the 4 starts. But there was a 1 run 2 hit gem at Atlanta in there. I'm counting on Wacha being on, and the Padres being the Padres bats - That is, the team that coming into Friday night was 47-26 to the UNDER on the year. Taking the ORIOLES. Marines coming off dropping a series to the Yanks, and now face an even tougher road opponent here in Baltimore. This team has yet to find their stride. Last year this time they were gearing up for a nice playoff run - this year, possibly dealing some pieces away in a month. If Oakland wasn't as historically bad as they are, Seattle could possibly be in last place. At this price, how do we not bet the home team? Orioles continue to win. 4th most wins in all of MLB. Am I missing something with Seattle being under .500 on the season and on the road? Orioles for me. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES

Taking MIAMI, going RUN LINE. Those newer to my picks - Look. You can lay your 140s,150s 160s or more. I just don't do it. Never, ever see me in the 180+ or higher range on MLs. I like my Plus Money. And why wouldn't we like that here? This is for Friday, but entering last nights game, the Pirates had lost 9 in a row and 14 of 16. Win, lose, whatever happened Thursday, I am still all in on Miami tonight. Can't bet on teams playing that poorly. Marlins in a nice little groove the last couple weeks. If you didn't already know, Miami the #2 team in all of MLB hitting vs lefties at a.294 clip. Luis Ortiz is not a top tier lefty and they should have 5 across the board by the 5th inning. 4* RL Money MIAMI MARLINS

Taking the RAYS, going RUN LINE. Well - coming into Thursday action the Royals have gone 3-17 their last 20 games. Rays the best offense at home or at least a very close 2nd when tallying up all the numbers. Grienke looks as if Father Time has called him for a meeting. Road woes for the veteran posting a 6.15 ERA in his 7 starts including allowing 8 HRs. This Rays team can hit in their home park. Eflin looks great this year for Tampa and is a terrific here at home. 7 games a .80 WHIP, 1,96 BAA and 1.85 ERA. How is KC going to score? 5th worse hitting in the league on the road, the least amount of runs scored. 4* RL Money TAMPA BAY RAYS

Taking MIAMI. We will again fade the Pirates. We had the Cubs, again yesterday for another win. We also had the Jays over Miami. That was after we had the Marlins in Games 1 + 2. Think I have a good feel for this Marlins bunch right now. But do we even need it? 9 straight losses and Pittsburgh has no dropped 14 of 16. So much for that fast start. The team is bad. Nothing wrong with that. They have some rebuilding to do. Mitch Keller started off great. He has been leveling off since. And on the road, well, he has walked off the level to a pit. 4 runs allowed at Milwaukee. 5 runs allowed vs Oakland. 4 runs at San Fran. 6 runs at Seattle. Sense a little road trend giving up runs here? How about his overall performance in his last 5 starts? 20 runs. Personally, I think when you have given up 4 or more in 4 of your last 5 starts we have a little problem. Coupled with the Pirates performance this month. Yeah - we take Miami. 4* Money Maker MIAMI MARLINS

Taking the WHITE SOX. So you know I like my streaks. And as I write this the day before, Texas has won 3 in a row heading into this Tuesday night matchup. That being said, even if we are looking at 4 up for the Rangers, and 3 straight L's for the Sox, I have to grab Kopech as a small dog. I can't back Perez in this spot. Guy has been a total Jekyll and Hyde with his splits this season. 1.71 ERA in 5 home starts. Totally dominant. On the road. He is Charlie Hough pitching at 64! 6.50 ERA in 9 starts. Opposing hitters raking a ridiculous .330 against him! 11 HRs allowed. A 1.80 WHIP. I know the Sox are in a little free for all, but I'll take them here. Kopech finally turning the corner and living up to the 1st round pick status. Last 7 games, dealing - 2.01 ERA .99 WHIP 53 Strikeouts in 40 innings. I like it. Honestly. If we go back to May - 9 starts. He has lowered his from a 7.01 to 3.92. That is what 14 runs in 52 innings looks likes. 2 of less runs allowed in 7 of those 9 starts. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX

Taking the CUBBIES, again. I don't know the outcome of the Tuesday night, but, honestly - it doesn't matter. Pirates could easily be on a 9 game losing streak. Even if they manage a win, what is that, a 3-12 run their last 15. No thanks. Pirates sinking fast. Kyle Hendricks has made 5 starts and has been decent. Not going to complain about a 2.86 ERA 1.02 WHIP and 217 BA Against. Again. Against Pitt? Chicago winners of 6 of 7 with their ace on the hill last night. I like our chances again. Taking the ORIOLES, again. Had them last night, will do it again this afternoon. Yep. Rays great at home. A true juggernaut. But let's not discount Baltimore. (heading into Tuesday night) These guys we tied for most road wins in all of MLB. Wells has been pitching pretty good lately - a .96 WHIP and 206 BA Against in his 3 June starts. We can lower it a bit more if we add his last May start 6 inning 4 hits 1 run. For me though. Let's fade a little Taj Bradley. I like the youngster. But for whatever reason, the kid gets mauled here at home. 4 starts 15 runs (14 ERs) in 17.2 innings of work - allowing opposing hitters to connect at a .301 clip isn't a good look when you come in listed as a 150 favorite. Taking the TIGERS, going RUN LINE. Look. This is really a straight fade of the Royals who have dropped 15 of 17 games. We also have Jordan Lyles who is 0-11 in 14 starts and KC is, yep, 0-14 in all his games started. Just 9 road wins for KC on the year. Tigers have had a little pep in their step lately. Motor City Kitty's putting up some runs. Olson was not bad in 2 road starts at the White Sox and Philly - 10 innings 5 hits 9 Ks.. Braves tagged him for 6 in 3.1 innings. Is that really a shocker? Since that 10-7 Atlanta win, the Braves have put up 6-8-8-10-14 runs. So, I can't really blame the rookie there. And the Royals lineup is nothing like the Braves. Taking the METS. Thought about RL -130 here, but I will stick with Senga on the ML. Guy has been more than solid at home. 6 starts 1.93 ERA .158 BAA and a decent 1.13 WHIP. Would be even better but the Jays tagged him for 4 runs in 2.2 innings on 4 hits. Otherwise, the guy is 6 innings an a run. Plus. Wainwright. Guy probably should have hung it up last year. Ineffective at home and on the road. 3 starts a 6.75 ERA. Opposing hitters raking .333 against him and a WHIP of 1.75. He is going to come out and give up 3/4 runs across 5 innings of work - possibly more if he doesn't get out of any jams. You put on 2 guys an inning and chances are you will give up some runs. Cards had also dropped 5 in a row coming into Friday nights game. Though Mikolas has been decent the last month or so, no guarantee the crack the win column. And even if they do, Mets have the pitching edge. 4* Money Maker NEW YORK METS

Taking the TWINS, going RUN LINE. Twins come in with 2 straight wins and get the Tigers off a double dip vs the Braves. Detroit struggles to win games in good spots - this is not a good spot. Sonny Gray, (Like Ober and Ryan) continues to pitch great. Guy has been great at home. 1.71 ERA in 7 starts 1.05 WHIP decent .226 BAA. 50Ks in 42 innings. He gets a Tigers bunch that is a league worse .209 hitting club on the road. Now -Minnesota just can't seem to generate much offense. They get Matthew Boyd. And at first look - should be a nice easy win. But, the guy has been more than decent in his road starts. That being said. I can't just sit here and kick the Tigers backs in all day. This guy might be able to limit the damage. The problem is Gray facing this inept offense that makes an inept Twins offense look like Kirby - Hrbek and whatever other old school guy you want to toss out is in the lineup! 4* RL Money MINNESOTA TWINS

Taking the ORIOLES. Whatever happens on Wednesday (we have Baltimore like we did Tuesday), we will run it back again. We are either sitting on 6 straight wins, or we dropped a game. Either way, Tyler Wells will get us the Win. Guy has been stellar at home. A .188 BAA and .81 WHIP. Should be more than enough to counter Yusei Kikuchi. This guys has been the polar opposite of Wells on the road. A 5 ERA . Opposing hitters raking at a .287 clip, 11 HRs allowed and the O's hit lefties pretty good ranking 8th in HRs vs southpaws. As I write this, (Wed), Baltimore has the 2nd most wins in the league! This team continues to get zero respect. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES

Taking the PIRATES, again. How the heck is Senga favored here? Forget about whatever happens here on Friday night as I do this writeup. New York comes in off a brutal loss vs Atlanta and another blown game. They lose their best player for about a month. Pirates have been feisty all year. And Senga comes to town with a 6.12 road ERA coupled with a .287 BAA and 1.84 WHIP - Look I am not a big believer that Pittsburgh is going to be in 2nd place and a playoff contender this season. But I will absolutely grab some plus money with a home dog against a team that is in a tailspin. 4* Money Maker PITTSBURGH PIRATES

Taking the CARDS, going RUN LINE. Reds have been a tough little out of late. And Abbott did look good in his first start. But, as much as I bash STL, I have to back Mikolas here. Guy is off a super May going 38 innings in 6 starts. 1.89 ERA .213 BAA .95 WHIP. Hasn't given up more than 3 runs in a start since April 11. Rough start to the season for him. 16 ERs in 12.2 innings of work. 15 ERs in the 60 since. Take out his 1st 3 starts and you are staring a 1.25 ERA instead of 3.74. Guy looks to be in top form. Cards offense good enough to get us this cover. 4* RL Money STL CARDINALS

Taking the WHITE SOX. Not sure why there is still all this love on Alcantara. Guy is not in Cy Young form. He has a 5.07 ERA on the year. A 5.09 ERA last 7. A 5.76 ERA on the road. He has given up 4 or more runs in half his starts (6) - not like 2 games or some limited number. The guy just gave up 5 runs to Oakland. Here come the Sox winners of 6 of 7 off a split vs the Yanks in a double header. Maybe these guys are finally turning the corner winning 6 of their last 8. Kopech had a great May - 6 starts 2.75 ERA .148 BA Against and a .92 WHIP. He is off a strong start of the new month going 7 strong giving up 3 hits and 2 runs with 9 guys. Just pitchers who appear to be going in opposite directions. Will side with the home dog in this one. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX
