Taking OAKLAND and going RUN LINE for the big money tonight. You can lay the 105 if you want, but at least sprinkle some RL in. Just like this spot for the A's. We lost with Oakland yesterday. The Jays come in off a win over the Yankees. And then they had to pack up, hit the airport and fly across the country for tonight's affair. Just a bad travel spot for them in my eyes. I know Toronto is hot, a 10-3 shows us so. We do have Manaea on the hill tonight who has been excellent his last 3 starts. (1.42 ERA) He has been down right dominate his last 2 starts. On the road vs the Yankees and Indians, 14 innings 1 run and 17Ks. Happ is making his 2nd start since returning from the DL. Can't say I see back to back 20 win seasons happening. Oakland is 7-3 last 10 at home vs the Jays. 8* Sure Shot OAKLAND A'S

Taking the MARLINS tonight. With mixed results we have gone against the Sunday Night ESPN players this year. I would have been on Miami in this spot anyway though. Marlins on a nice 8-2 run last 10, while the Cubs just 4-6 over that same span. Chicago has been sputtering most of the season as they look to find last years rhythm. We do get our best pitcher in Straily for us. We know what we will get with our guy. Cubs counter with Butler. The youngster has struggled since going 6 innings in his first start, logging 3-5-4.1 in his next 3. Cubbies off a huge 3 games weep of bitter rivals STL. Could be that is what turns their season around. Even home its a bit of let-down spot, especially when it is not of the their 'bigger' name guys on the hill. 4* Money Maker MIAMI MARLINS

Going OVER the total in Game 2. Had the Cavs and Over in Game 1.. Will have Cavs, points + ML as a Free Play tonight. GS did their job scoring, but Cleveland was little lack-luster. Defending jobs will come out strong tonight. This isn't some fluke team. They have the best player on the court. Not a chance they come out flat tonight. A lot of attacking the basket on both sides. And we should see an uptick in free points at the FT line which only help us as the clock stops. 4* Total Money OVER Cavs/Warriors

Taking the PENGUINS here. So we had the Preds Game 1, and after that I knew Nashville was in trouble. We came back huge with Pitt +200 on the PL in Game 2. And tonight, we grab the Pens as a small road dog. I know that Nashville had a great playoff run. But they were an 8 seed. And the cream rises to the top in the Finals. Taking the PADRES here. Now, last year, we would have been all over Chatwood in this spot. In fact, early this year we were heavy on road-Wood. Last year, 8-1 1.69 ERA 13 starts. This year, a 3.06 road ERA. Not terrible. A .173 BAA and 1.05 WHIP look impressive. He has had 2 real road gems this year. 2 hit SHO at SF, and a 1 hit gem over 7 at Philly with 8Ks. But, the Padres have given him trouble this year. They beat him nearly 1 month ago here as Chatwood gave up 5 in 5+ innings of work. Only 4 hits allowed, but 4 walks and 2 HRs will do some damage. SD also beat him in April in Colorado where he gave up 4 earned in 5+. As long as we hit on some splits, how about Chacin. Holy cow. 10.27 ERA in 7 road starts .377 BAA 2.12 WHIP ! Yikes. But lookie lookie here. At Petco, the guy is the best pitcher to ever play major league baseball - a .67 ERA .70 WHIP .132 BAA in 4 starts. Not even sure Chatwood keeps a rotation spot with his 5+ ERA on the year when Gray comes off the DL next week. 4* Money Maker SD PADRES

Taking the MARINERS here. Now. I have faded Seattle multiple times this year and really do not like this team at all. But I will grab them as a small dog tonight. Rays can hit, and Odorizzi has a respectable mid 3 road ERA. But this kid Bergman has been pretty solid for Seattle. In 2 of his last 3 starts he has gone 7 and giving up 0 runs (6 hits). In the middle, the Nats destroyed him for 10 earned on 14 hits in 4 innings of work. In 11 innings at home, he has posted a .88 BAA and .55 WHIP. Taking the GIANTS here. Both teams on losing streaks, but I think SF gets off the snide tonight. They mustered 3 runs at home in the Nats series. Safe to say the coach isn't happy. I do like this kid Blach though. Don't be misled by his crazy road ERA. He was shelled in Cincy (8 in 3) in just his 3rd start (also 3 in 1 inning of relief in his 2nd outing of the year). He has given up 10 runs in his other 6 starts. 4* SF GIANTS

Taking the YANKEES here. Pineda has pitched pretty well this year giving up 3 earned or less in 9 of his 10 starts. Not too shabby. A .209 BAA and 1.09 WHIP help since he does like to give up the long ball. A 3+ 4 earned first game start skews his road numbers a bit. But he will give up a few tonight the Jays. I will lay this number since the Yankee bats are really stroking it right now. They should score vs Liriano making his first start off the DL. This guy is always up and down and his 6.35 ERA through 7 starts makes me think he is struggling a bit. Love that high 1.91 WHIP. Will also look to the over again tonight. 4* Money Maker NY YANKEES

Taking the CAVALIERS here. Will be going ML every time Cleveland is a dog. We have the best player in the league, plus the PG advantage with Kyrie. Kyrie isn't much for playing defense, but he loves to get in Curry's head. If he was healthy 2 years ago, I think we are talking Cleveland 3-Peat. Any team with Lebron, Love and Kyrie has a shot. I know GS signed arguably a Top 3 NBA player in KD. But. The guy misses some time. And as we saw when the 'Big 3' got together in Miami. Things don't always play out like people think. Taking MIAMI here. i am always going to take some bumps and bruises over the coarse of a season, and May was that kind of month. But I am not going to start changing things that have made me money over years because of a bad stretch. And that brings us to Greinke laying this short number in Miami. A 4-1 3.28 month of May will have everyone giddy about this line. I'll dig deeper to Zach's 1-3 4.62 road record this year. Not much to report on Locke who is off 4 rehab starts (1.77 ERA 20 innings 22Ks 2walks) Marlins 6-2 last 8 vs Arizona. D-backs long way from home. This is their 14th straight game, 8th straight on the road. This will be their 11th road game in that stretch. Marlins, like Arizona, on a 7-3 run. Taking PENS on the PL tonight. Man. We had the Preds in Game 1 and if you told me we were giving up 12 shots on goal I would have thought we would be coasting to a nice win. Pens look very good right now. And even though I did like the Preds as a nice long-shot to upset the defending champs, I think that is an uphill battle - The cream looks like it is rising to the top as the Preds looked every bit an 8 seed vs the Stanley Cup Champs. I think Pens offense really gets going tonight. 12 shots a period, not for an entire game is more of a likely outcome as this series progresses. 4* PL Money PITT PENGUINS

Taking the ROCKIES here. These guys just keep on winning. First place in the NL West. They are now 18-8 on the road and have an average home mark! The old days, they would feast at home while being destroyed away. So here they are favored of Wainwright. As I have said in previous write ups, this guy is on the downward side of his career. The numbers don't lie. I will give him 2 nice starts in a row. But even giving up 1 run in 13.1 innings, I can't overlook a 6.37 ERA and .356 BAA and near 1.90 WHIP his first 7 starts. At 35, with 1800 innings logged on his arm, a pair of good starts is an out-lier for me, not the norm. STL treated us well in LA, but now they are heading to the Rockies. Colorado has cashed 7 of 10 and 15 of their last 21. (not counting Friday contest) - Freeland has a 2.63 ERA his last 7 starts (4-1) and holding hitters to .221 over that span. He has been solid at home so I think he gets it done tonight. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES

He has a road ERA of 8.05 in 4 starts. .313 BAA and a WHIP of 1.84 - The series has gone 15-5-1 over last 21 in Philly. Again. I am writing this prior to the Friday game so the trend is going to be wrong. Eickhoff has a mid 4 ERA at home and doesn't do anything fancy. He is going to give up hits and runs. Going OVER the total here. Friers has given up 17 HRs already this year in just 42 innings. That is an epic pace! He has pitched to a better ERA at home, 3.50, than on the road, 6.38 - That being said, I think he still gives up 4-5 runs tonight. Not that I am huge sabermetrics type capper. I like my WHIP and BAA, but in the case of Friers, I have to note his extremely high FIP. It is off the charts bad. And let's not sell Verlander short. Clearly the mileage is taking its toll on his arm. He had a great year last year, but is slow out of the gate. He was limited the year before, so maybe we are seeing some arm fatigue early. We know that the Astros can hit. And giving free passes will help us get some more runs on the board tonight. Verlander is half-way home to last years walk total. Final thought at we toss in some Verlander road splits. How about 2-3 in 5 starts with an ERA of 7.24 - A 1.79 WHIP adds to my thinking we see a 5-5 game by the 4th. 5* Best Bet OVER Tigers/Astros

Taking the RANGERS here. Texas just had a nice win streak snapped. And I am not a huge Cashner fan. But he has pitched pretty good on the road. 3.12 ERA in 3 starts but a .194 BA Against says he limits the hits. He hasn't given up more than 2 earned since his first start of the year. Porcello won the Cy Young last year, but teams have figured him out some so far. Forget the 2-5 4.23 ERA. Hitters are at a .284 clip and he sports a WHIP of 1.41. - Also has a 5.52 ERA in his 5 home starts (1-4) with 7HRs allowed. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX

Rolling out a BEST BET tonight with the ASTROS and going for the RUN LINE Money payday. You can lay the -130 if you want. I see Verlander tweets out that the Tigers just arrived in Houston at 6am. I normally like fading the Sunday night team the next day. Especially when on the road. And doubly when I see someone on their team say they get in at daybreak. Astros should be able to muster some runs tonight. I know Fulmer has nice numbers, but eventually that Detroit dumpster-fire bullpen makes an appearance. Let's go Stros! 5* Best Bet HOUSTON ASTROS

Taking the GIANTS here. Will grab Blach at this price. This is his 6th start this year. Don't be fooled by this ERA. He was shelled for 8 earned in 3 innings giving up 11 hits in Cincy. He has given up 5 runs in his other 27 innings (4 starts). In fact, his first start he went 5 giving up 2 on 4 hits. He has gone 7 in the other 3 starts. That is the kid who I think shows up tonight vs Lackey. And Lackey hasn't been all that perfect at home either. 1-2 with a 4+ ERA and opposing hitters are at a .290 clip against him. They are on a nice little 8-3 run their last 11 and worth it at this price. 4* Money Maker SF GIANTS

Taking the ROCKIES here. We cashed nicely with the Reds RL yesterday, but are on the opposite side this afternoon. And with good reason. Arroyo sports a career ERA of 5 vs the Rockies. Those 13 starts (15 games) were when he was actually a major league starter pitcher - not the batting practice fodder he is now. He has a 6.31 ERA on the year, though pitching much better at home 4.84 ERA as to the road 8.05. Not sure how many times I have said an ERA near 5 is good in my life! On the opposite side of his career and with opposite stats, rookie Kevin Freeland comes in, for me, as the play today. A 3.13 ERA on the year, 2.42 on the road in 4 starts. Not a fan of his K/BB ratio 29K/22BB and I would like to see that improve drastically. But he does get a lot of ground-ball outs which will help in this park. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES

Real simple for me. 1 - How many of you hear this in your heads..No way the Yankees get swept! - 2 - fade CC. So what he is off a good start. And yes, his road ERA is 3.45 as opposed to 7.41 at home. - Finally.. Archer at home. 2-0 this year 2.94 ERA in 5 starts. Last year in 16 starts he had a 2.65 ERA. Granted, he went 3-10. But the Rays have been clubbing the ball lately. We add in Archer off the worse start for him on the year, and I expect bit things this afternoon. 4* RL Money TAMPA BAY RAYS

The series has gone over 4 straight and 6 of the last 7. Mets are 12-3-1 OVER their last 16 on the road. NY has gone 4-0-2 over in Wheeler's last 6 starts. Arizona is on a 7-1 over run in Godley's last 8 starts, including 5-1 his last 6 at home. 4* Total Money OVER Mets/DBacks

Taking the WIZARDS and going ML tonight. You can grab the 5 and play it safe. But I will ride Wall and friends to a Game 1 vs the Cavs. Anything possible in Game 7s. Wall has been the best player in the series. I know the home team has won 10 straight in this match-up. And every other trend says to stay away from Washington and back Boston. I just think that the Wizards should be in position to cover the number. If I think they are going to lose by 3 or 4, then I surely believe they can pull an outright upset. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON WIZARDS

Going OVER the total here. Pens are coming out firing away tonight. They obviously were in a little bit of a bad spot off that big Game 7 win over the Caps. Now I didn't play anything in Game 1 of this series since I wasn't sure how Pitt would come out. Well. They were flat. I expect an uptick in scoring tonight. Senators also missed some spots in Game 1. They could have lit the lamp for at least another goal, possibly 2. Won't be shocked to see a 4-3 game here. 4* Total Money OVER Sens/Pens
