The very next game as 12pt faves they edge Nebraska by 1 on the road. Lose at home to Texas Tech by 12 as 8pt faves. Survive TCU on the road. Edge Iowa State by 5 as 16pt home faves. Taking MERCER. This Mocs team is a down unit. Yes, this is a lot of points. But I think we can still squeeze out some value here. Chattanooga off a 110-101 OT loss. 7 guys played. 2 played 45 minutes, 1 played 44. Another 39. Now they are back on the road, against a pretty Mercer team. Bears dropped their first 3 SoCon games before blasting Samford 31 last game. I see nearly the same outcome tonight. 4* Money Maker MERCER 

Taking ANAHEIM today. As we close out the football season, I will be getting back to adding more NHL and the occasional NBA play. There will always be daily college hoops. Hockey a bit slow for us so far (45-59 -440). Obviously, we have played a lot more dogs, but have yet to reap the rewards. The last 3 years we have seen profits of +1245, +608 and +3116. So we have several months to grind out winners. I really think that we can be back to even, or up, by Super Bowl Sunday. -- So we'll grab the DUCKS tonight as the finish up this 5 game road swing (2-2). Avs in the tail end of huge home-stand. So after a 22-15 start, we have gone 1-6 since December 20th. Not what I want at all. Several close losses that if we go 3-0 instead of 0-3, I wouldn't be terribly upset. Taking the VIKINGS. Real simple for me. One. We are rested. Two. We have the much better defense. Three. We have seen the last 2 weeks that New Orleans has had trouble stopping Tampa and Carolina. A pair of teams that are pretty generic with their offenses. - Now they face a Minny team that has a bunch of options for their QB to turn to. This is no knock on Brees. I just thin that their defenses injury and depth will catch up with on the road, and vs a team with probably the most under-rated HC in the league. 5* Best Bet MINNESOTA VIKINGS 

Taking DAVIDSON. Wildcats the better team across the board. Somehow, Fordham pulled an upset last year. Well, shooting 29% will not win you many games. I am expecting more of their Game 2 of last season with a score along the lines of 80--60. 4* Money Maker DAVIDSON 

Taking the STEELERS. Have to play a little on Pitt. First we have that revenge working for us. Utterly wrecked at home with Big Ben tossing, what, 10 INTS! - Seriously. That was a joke. Yes this Jags defense is very good. But the offense is putrid. And I had them last week. I thought they can put up points. Because they have. But I have seen Seattle and SF both carve this team up recently. This is an experienced Steelers team. Lots of explosiveness on offense. We are laying just a TD. Taking the PATRIOTS. I'll lay this beast. And try to keep my reasons brief. So Titans down 21-3 to KC. KC loses best player to take advantage of poor Tenn pass defense. Titans get, let's just say, a few calls in their favor. Won't get into detail. Safe to say that everything that needed to happen, happened. Enter the Pats. We are going to go against Hoodie? In a week where we see a problem between Brady, Kraft and Hoodie. It's mass chaos in New England. Coach vs Trainer vs Owner vs QB. Forget that nonsense. Taking the FALCONS today. You can grab the 2.5, but I will go 3 just to take back a little extra cash. So, we cashed on Atlanta last week. I am not sure why everyone is shocked they won. As I said. Against a rookie HC and basically, a rookie QB, I would take a veteran QB and HC playing with a chip, the size of a Super Bowl Trophy, on their shoulder. And what do they walk into here. Only an Eagles team that has been average at best. Now, I like Foles. In fact, I backed Philly over the Giants and while they won, they couldn't cover. Then we had that Monday night game vs the Raiders. Finally, the Nate Sudfeld game. Enter our Falcons. This isn't last years team. They are playing much better defense. The fact is, with no Wentz, this game is a toss up. ATL the fave really based on the QBs. Both defenses are pretty solid. And both teams can run the ball. I am just coming back to what they learned last year. Philly, like the Rams, are rolling the dice with house money, up-starts. Bright futures. Falcons on the other side of that. Veterans. Taking SOUTH ALABAMA this afternoon. It would be easy to say we have to back the defending Sun Belt Champs with this line even on the road. But they are not playing well right now. They have dropped 3 of 4 to start conference play. This is their 3rd straight road game, again, in conference play. Every team will come at them just a bit harder, as they are the defending champs. But I will take my chances with the Jaguars who won both games last year, and 6 of the last 7. Maybe they just have Troy's number. 4* Money Maker SOUTH ALABAMA 

Taking MONTANA here. It might look like a good call taking a home team that scores 90ppg in a Pk'em. Not for me though. I look at a couple bloated scores (116 on Linford, 125 on Portland Bible College! 111 on Willamette) and then at what has been done in conference play (75 Sac State, 74 Eastern Washington - 93 on Montana State who gives up nearly 80ppg). Forget that the Grizzlies have come in covering their last 10. We will focus on a defense giving up less than 70ppg. Montana is one of the top teams in the Big Sky. I did not have the Vikings as high. And I can't discount how they push the tempo. They have beaten 'big names' already this year. (Stanford, Cal, Loyola Marymount, Santa Clara, lost by a bucket to Butler). Conference play is a different animal though. And you have to ask yourself why a team that appears better by their wins and scoring ability is not favored. 4* Money Maker MONTANA GRIZZLIES 

Taking TOWSON. I like this team. I think they are one of the better teams in the CAA. The Tribe, for me, have been over-achieving. They shot 50, 59.6, 52% from the field in their last 3 road games! That is nuts. There will be a return to the norm. Tigers not giving up easy looks. And they need to start getting some conference wins themselves. Forget the 3, I will go ML. 4* Money Maker TOWSON 

Taking COASTAL CAROLINA here. Again. Like our South Alabama play. This is an odd PK game. Georgia State, for me, clearly the better team. They are in their 2nd road game. And I guess, in their limited history you have to factor in both teams winning on their home courts. I'll lean on our rebounding edge as what pushes this to the win column for us. 4* Money Maker COASTAL CAROLINA

Taking SAN DIEGO. I'm buying these guys. They place tough. Good defense. I know this is a PK so there is no point value. But this team has lost to Mary's by 7 on the road. No shame in that. They dropped an OT game to North Texas. But that was on the heels off a big road win against PAC 12 Colorado. Losing to San Diego State isn't a bad loss. I don't like them losing to Santa Barbara. But they have beaten teams like Pacific already. Pacific with an OT win, a 1pt win, and a 2pt win. And near 40pt win over something called Arkansas-Fort Worth. 7-10 can just as easily be 4-13. And 2-13 if you take out that no-name team. I like my home teams. But I can't even hold my eyes and play the Tigers. Taking GEORGE MASON. Think these are pretty equal teams. I know that St Joe's has a bit of a bigger name, so maybe people think they are a top A-10 team. We are getting a couple baskets from a team that has a conference road loss to who, I believe, (George Washington) is the worse team in the league. I can't see them coming in here and winning by a large margin. Personally, I will sprinkle some ML on Mason. 4* Money Maker GEORGE MASON 

Taking GEORGIA TECH. ND off a battle with Syracuse. Now on the road at a GT team that is known to pull an upset or two at home. Won't get into the unranked being favored over ranked side of things. ND without 1, and possibly 2 of their top scorers. I just see the Irish heading home with North Carolina and then Louisville on deck. I can see this being a let-down spot in the schedule. And vs a team like GT, or any team that is playing the home dog role, I have to take that angle. Especially when we have a revenge spot from a 69-58 loss already this season. GT had a 28-23 half-time and down 51-50 with 4 to go.  4* Money Maker GEORGIA TECH 

Taking UCF. Will grab these guys tonight. You have seen my type a couple times how I think UConn is a down program. What we know for certain is that UCF will bring the defense tonight. Less than 60ppg. Heck, they have allowed less than 40. 40!! in two of their last 3 games. Remove the 3 overtime games in the last 10 - We are now looking at a Huskies that team has scored more than 64 points twice. 5 times 64 or less. It is 3 of the last 4 if you take out their Tulsa OT game. Can't see them outscoring this defense. 4* Money Maker UCF

Taking INDIANA STATE. Northern Iowa has dropped 6 straight. They are having trouble scoring. They were already 3-8 ATS last 11 in this series. In basically a PK type game, I have to side with the home team. 4* Money Maker INDIANA STATE 

Taking MERCER. These guys one of the monsters of the So Con. And they are facing a mouse from the bottom of the conference. This is it for them though. Off to an 0-2 start in conference play as they have dropped both game to the other top teams, Furman and East Tenn. So this the the old 'circle the wagons game.' Must win in every sense of the word. They beat Western by 15 at home, and 20 on this court. They need more of the same tonight. 8* Sure Shot MERCER

Taking TENNESSEE. Uh. Tough doing this. Everything I normally think tells me to take Vandy. Not that they are huge home dogs. But Vols are off that win over Kentucky. Davis and Williams (should be back, out ill last game) should be able to control the paint. With Kentucky. They always reload. But they have to get on the same page. It is a problem. I say it every year with them. More so when fading them as road faves. But this is a tough Aggies team. They are in need of wins. 4* Money Maker TEXAS A&M 

Taking TEXAS TECH. Everyone loves Trae Young. What is not to like? Kid is making Curry look like a guy who just takes layups with the way he bombs. Sooners scoring over 90ppg. Tech giving up 60. Something has to give. I am sure we will something something in the middle. Just see everyone jumping in Oklahoma and I think it is mainly because they think they can't lose 2 straight. 4* Money Money TEXAS TECH 

Taking TULANE. Yeah. I'll be the first to say that normally, I am fading the Hurricanes off that win over SMU. But this team is different. Already surpassed last years win total. Dunleavy isn't going to let these guys come in too cocky. We have a pair of seniors leading the team. Double revenge and 3 straight losses to Memphis. Tigers really young. Faded them at home already a couple games (Mercer, Samford) and will do the same tonight. 4* Money Maker TULANE 

Taking OHIO. Maybe I was a bit high on Ball State as Buffalo completely crushed them last game. Easy to think, oh, huge bounce-back. Can't sleep on Ohio though. These guys are right behind Buffalo to win the MAC East. I really like their coach also. 4* Money Maker OHIO 

Taking GEORGETOWN. Alright. We are moving along slowly out of the gate here in 2018 with our college hoops hitting .500 - That is going to change. Let's start that wheel moving in the right direction with the Hoyas. Think Ewing's guys hang tough here. These are fairly equal teams that both need to get some conference wins. Have to lean to the road dog though. 4* Money Maker GEORGETOWN 

Taking the KINGS. Can't think about laying with Spurs in a back to back and 4th game in 6 nights. They are 1-4 in b2b spots already this season. SA has won 6 straight here in Sacramento and 11 straight in the series. This is a rare case where I am grabbing points and thinking we just cover as opposed to an outright win. 4* Money Maker SACRAMENTO KINGS 

Taking ALABAMA tonight. So. Tide is the team that shouldn't have been playing say a lot of people. Even though as the 4 seed they were to be favored over every other team in the playoffs, and the country for that matter. It is easy to say that the only real team Alabama played, Auburn, beat them. And then you Auburn beating what was the #1 Alabama and then #1 Georgia before falling to Georgia in the SEC Championship. But this Bama team was #1 for nearly all season for a reason. Just like they are favored over every team for a reason. Again, they have been dogs exactly once since 2010. A 1.5 to these same Georgia Bulldogs in 2015. Crimson Tide rolled to a 38-10 win. We know what to expect from Alabama. I thought they would cruise to a relatively easy win over Clemson and they did. I think the Clemson defense is as good, or better than Georgia's. Now. Is Baker Mayfield and the Sooner offense better than the Tide. Absolutely. But they pasted this defense for 48 points. And really, they should have won. And I am not saying that as a guy who had the Sooners. Their 1st year HC Riley really wet the bed when it mattered most. Kirby Smart is an old Bama assistant. Well, Saban is 11-0 winning with an average score of 38-10 over his old coaches. 427-111 in those 11 games Tide have outscored Tennessee (Dooley) , Colorado State (McElwain), Florida (Muschamp)+ (McElwain), Florida State (Jimbo) , and Michigan State (Dantonio. I am not expecting some wild game like that. I think this is going to be more along the lines of Bama/LSU, Auburn/ Oregon than the last 3 playoffs where we saw at least 60 scored in each game. These are really 2 of the same molded programs. But I am backing the teacher over the student. 5* Best Bet ALABAMA 

Taking NAVY. Now, you should already know that the Patriot League belongs to Bucknell. But this Navy team, I think, is the 2 team. Granted, it is a big slide down from Bucknell. Colgate having some problems to start conference play as they lost to Lafayette who is coming off a 21 loss season. 3 of the last 4 in this series have been decided by 3 points. The 4th, a 12pt Navy win last year. The teams have gone 2-2 in the last 4 match-ups. Just think Navy a bit better, and we are getting a couple buckets. 4* Money Maker NAVY 

Taking UTAH. Nice home dog for us to back. As fast as Arizona State rose to the fore-front, I am calling for their 3rd straight loss. Ending up a 3 game road trip won't be easy. Utes off a tough loss to Arizona, battling back a couple times before falling. Sun Devils after starting their road trip losing to rival Arizona, lost in OT at Colorado. Now have to face an always tough Utah team. And the last 3 trips here, ASU has been absolutely crushed. 81-46 last year, 83-41 the year before. 2014, 86-63. No way the tam ranked #6 in the land losing 3 straight right? 4* Money Maker UTAH 

Taking the PANTHERS. So. We have the old, it's hard to beat a good time 3 times playing out. Saints won 34-13 and 31-21 this already this year. But it is January football. I am not a fan of Cam at all. But I like his legs and the rest of the RBs vs this depleted Saints defense. Not a lot of depth and they are missing 5 starters. We saw the Bucs march down the field last week as time was running out to score a win. On a side not, that TD sent it Over the total and we go 7-2 instead of a super 8-1. I just think that we have seen Carolina knock off the Pats and Vikes. A pair of pretty good teams. We cashed with the Falcons over these same Panthers. Everyone saying, oh Carolina has a lot to play for. Well what about Atlanta. They were playing for their season. (had them yesterday also) - Road team 23-10 ATS last 33 in the series. Underdog 6-1 ATS last 7 in the series. Panthers 0-6 ATS last 6 in the series. Something has to give. I am betting on Cam being 'Superman' and not 'Laptop Man' - 8* Sure Shot CAROLINA PANTHERS  

Taking CHARLESTON. Will grab these guys off that Drexel loss. Drexel? Man. If there was ever a case of looking ahead to a bigger game, that was it. These two guys, for me, are the CAA top dogs. And if CoC was coming in off a win over Drexel, 5 straight and 9 of 10. Then maybe a play on Towson would have been in the cards. But that isn't the case. We get now a very focused and angry Charleston against the Tigers. The Tigers, who have already lost at Charleston by 9. Towson, who before beating up on Wilmington, had lost 4 straight (Elon, CoC, Pitt, Oakland) - Charleston has won 5 of the last 6 in the series. Again, bad loss. Taking the JAGUARS. Forget the line here. To me, this game is pick the winner. And if you think the Bills cover, then you think they win outright. I don't think they win outright. I think the Jaguars defense is a beast. I think with a gimpy McCoy, if he even plays, we know he is not near 100%, that Taylor will force some things. That plays into the Jax strength, their defense. Yes, it is frightening laying near double digits with Blake Bortles. Jags have won their last 5 at home, last 3 putting up 35ppg. 4* Money Maker JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 

Taking the FALCONS here. Now. I know that the Rams had a great year. Rookie HC takes off with a 2nd year QB who looked like a bust and turns 4-12 into 11-5. But those two combinations is exactly why I am on the visitors in this spot. Atlanta really changed gears down the stretch going 6-2. Rams not exactly with a huge home field edge here either. Falcons couldn't make a stop in the 2nd half of the Super Bowl. But the defense is what has improved this year while the offense has taken a step back. I do like this Rams team. But all I have heard from people is, how don't the Rams win by a touchdown? For me, this is too many points to give to a playoff tested experienced team. Don't be shocked if Falcons win this outright. 4* Money Maker ATLANTA FALCONS

Taking the CHIEFS here. Man oh man with all these lines wild-card weekend. Normally I am shying away from near double digit faves come playoff time. But I see a pair of totally different teams. Yes. We cashed the Titans as our Top 10* Money Bomb last Sunday. But we don't fall in love with teams. We like numbers. Value. We started the season backing the Titans over the Raiders. And we will end their season fading them vs the Chiefs. KC a bit different now with their new OC calling plays. I just don't see Tennessee being able to hang close here. Taking WESTERN MICHIGAN. So, this might be a bit of sucker line. And I normally try to avoid them or go the other way. But this is the MAC. Maybe people don't know as much about it. But I think that WMU is right up there with Buffalo and a slight notch below Ball State. I have Miami O pegged as a bottom feeder. Lay it with small road fave. 4* Money Maker WESTERN MICHIGAN 

Taking GEORGIA STATE. Not that I compare the too. But if Georgia Southern smacks these guys by 30, then there is no reason Georgia State can't do half of that. Red Wolves breaking in a new coach so conference play will be a new adjustment. 4* Money Maker GEORGIA STATE 

Taking DEPAUL. Lost with these guys last game. But I will ride them again. Just think this is too many points for a Johnnies team that has had trouble scoring. DePaul has been putting up 80+ in 3 of their last 4. The dog is 7-3 ATS last 10 in the series. 4* Money Maker DEPAUL 

Taking BAYLOR. Think the Bears can slow the size of Texas. Tough spot on the road for the young Longhorns. Texas hasn't been hitting 3s yet. Can't see them getting on in hostile territory. 4* Money Maker BAYLOR BEARS

Taking the HEAT tonight. Can't back Knicks on the road. Heat can atone for getting ambushed in NY, losing by 29 at the end of November. NY 6th game in 10 days, and 5th road tilt during that span. Taking MANHATTAN tonight. This isn't the same Monmouth team of years past people. They already have 2 conference losses. Yes, you can say it is a circle the wagons game to save their season. But I really don't think it matters. I am not going to run down their schedule before they started conference play. But, I'll say it is filled with losses. Time for a little Jasper revenge. 0-2 last season, and losers of 3 straight to Hawks, I think Manhattan scores the outright win tonight. I think these guys are near the top of the MAAC. We also have some trends working in our favor. Underdog a perfect 5-0 ATS last 5 in the series. Manhattan on a 7-0 ATS run in the series, and have covered 4 straight here in NJ. Monmouth 0-4 ATS their last 4 at home. And the Jaspers on a 4-1 road ATS run. 4* Money Maker MANHATTAN
