05-07-19 | Twins -150 v. Blue Jays | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 7 h 4 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Minnesota starter, Berrios has won four straight starts while posting a 3.51 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings. He has not walked a batter in each of his last two outings and has just eight free passes in 46 1/3 innings on the year. The 24-year-old from Puerto Rico tossed seven scoreless frames with nine strikeouts in his only prior start at the Rogers Centre last July. Toronto starter, Sanchez has managed to finish only 13 combined innings over his last three starts and he was knocked out after four in a loss at the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. He allowed five runs (four earned) and a season-high nine hits while striking out a season low-tying two in that outing - his fifth consecutive non-quality start. The 26-year-old got the win at Minnesota on April 16 after giving up four runs over six frames. |

05-06-19 | Mets v. Padres +107 | 0-4 | Win | 107 | 10 h 18 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Paddack has posted deGrom-like numbers over his first six major-league starts, limiting opponents to a .126 batting average while registering 35 strikeouts against only nine walks in 33 innings. The 23-year-old rookie from Texas has won back-to-back outings, including a triumph at Atlanta on Tuesday in which he allowed two runs and four hits over six frames. Paddack, who will be facing New York for the first time, gave up three hits or fewer in each of his first five turns and has issued more than one free pass on just one occasion. |

05-06-19 | Braves +149 v. Dodgers | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 13 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Gausman will make his seventh start, on two days rest, after he was ejected following 27 pitches and 1 2/3 innings of work Friday at Miami for throwing at Marlins pitcher Jose Urena. The 28-year-old gave up one run on one hit against Miami, after allowing 10 earned runs on 13 hits with 11 strikeouts across 10 1/3 innings in his previous two starts. Gausman, who has limited opposing hitters to a .207 average in 31 2/3 innings this season, surrendered four runs on eight hits in five innings for Baltimore against the Dodgers in 2016, and gave up two runs on two hits over two innings in Game 3 of last season’s NL Division Series. Buehler has benefited from the Dodgers scoring six runs or more in five of his first six starts, as his ERA is nearly double the 2.62 he posted in 24 games in 2018 while finishing third in NL Rookie of the Year voting. The 24-year-old gave up 11 runs in his first three starts but has settled down of late, giving up six earned runs on 13 hits across 17 1/3 innings in his past three starts. Buehler held Atlanta to one run on two hits in 5 1/3 innings in his lone regular-season appearance against the Braves, but gave up five runs on five hits against them in Game 3 of last year’s NL Division Series. |
05-06-19 | Mariners v. Yankees -139 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 7 h 46 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Seattle right-hander Felix Hernandez (1-2, 4.31 ERA) was tagged with four runs on eight hits (two homers) in a 6-5 Mariners loss to the Cubs last time out. The team has now lost three of his last four starts and the Mariners are 5-16 in Hernandez's last 21 road starts vs. a team with a winning record. The Bronx Bombers hand the ball to left-hander CC Sabathia (1-1, 2.66 ERA) who was charged with a 3-1 loss at Arizona last time out despite allowing just two runs over 5 1/3 innings of work. He has not allowed a single earned run through 10 frames home at Yankee Stadium here in 2019 and the Mariners are 1-5 in their last six games vs. a left-handed starter. |
05-06-19 | Giants v. Reds -149 | 4-12 | Win | 100 | 1 h 50 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units San Francisco starter, Pomeranz has allowed three runs or fewer in five of his six starts, but he's completed six innings just once in that span. He gave up three runs in four frames in a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. Cincinnati starter, DeSclafani is 1-0 with a 0.51 ERA over his last three starts, including back-to-back outings in which he has not allowed a run. The 29-year-old has 20 strikeouts while giving up nine hits in 17 2/3 innings during that dominant stretch. Brandon Belt is 4-for-6 with a home run and a double against DeSclafani, who dominated the Giants through 7 2/3 innings in a matchup last year |
05-05-19 | Cardinals v. Cubs -127 | 5-13 | Win | 100 | 8 h 51 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Cubs have won 17 of their last 23 games to pull within one-half game of Central-leading St. Louis, including a 6-5 victory over the Cardinals on Saturday - their sixth straight triumph. Chicago rallied from a four-run deficit on Saturday, as Taylor Davis hit a grand slam and Javier Baez smashed a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning. The Cardinals have dropped three straight for the first time all season. Five of St. Louis’ 13 setbacks have been by one run. Chicago starter, Quintana had his streak of three straight quality starts snapped last time out, but he still put the Cubs in a position to win. The 30-year-old allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings and recorded only two strikeouts after racking up 25 in his previous three turns. Quintana is 4-3 with a 3.86 ERA in eight career starts against the Cardinals. |
05-05-19 | Twins v. Yankees -131 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 5 h 46 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Minnesota starter, Pineda opened the season with three straight solid outings, including victories over Philadelphia and Detroit, but he has regressed over his last three turns, including back-to-back starts against Houston. He was tagged for five runs on nine hits over five innings last time out and has been charged with 15 runs and 24 hits over 14 innings in the past three outings. Cameron Maybin is 5-for-16 against Pineda, who made his lone start against New York as a rookie in 2011. New York starter, German worked at least six innings for the fourth consecutive start, holding on for the victory after giving up four runs and five hits to beat San Francisco last time out. The 26-year-old Dominican also won his previous turn with a superb performance against the Los Angeles Angels, tossing a season-high 6 2/3 innings and permitting an unearned run on four hits. |
05-05-19 | Mets v. Brewers -148 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 3 h 1 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units New York starter, Vargas has yet to last six innings in any of his five starts but has held his own over his last three turns since a forgettable outing in Atlanta on April 13 in which he allowed four runs in one-third of an inning. The Long Beach State product was solid in a no-decision on Tuesday, holding Cincinnati to one run on three hits and three walks over a season-high 5 1/3 frames. Braun is 0-for-4 with a walk versus Vargas, who is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in two career starts against Milwaukee. Milwaukee starter, Davies did not allow an earned run for the third time in six trips to the mound en route to a victory on Tuesday against Colorado, limiting the Rockies to one unearned run in 5 1/3 frames. The 26-year-old Arizona native has only one quality start to his name so far, but his 1.38 ERA through six games is the second-lowest ever by a Brewer through six turns (1.12; Ricky Bones, 1994). |
05-04-19 | Diamondbacks +120 v. Rockies | 9-2 | Win | 120 | 8 h 23 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Kyle Freeland hasn’t looked quite the same this year. It’s obviously still early but other than his strikeout rate, his numbers are worse across the board. At home this year, he’s allowed seven runs in 11 innings and overall he’s allowed 18 earned runs in 33.2 innings. With that type of performance, it should be no surprise that Colorado is 2-4 in his starts. Arizona lost in all four chances against him last year so you can also factor in some revenge here. They’ll get some help from Luke Weaver, who has been great since coming over from St. Louis. Weaver has a 2.87 ERA in his three road starts this year with 19 strikeouts in 15.2 innings. With the lefty mashing D-Backs behind him. |
05-04-19 | Giants v. Reds -124 | 2-9 | Win | 100 | 7 h 29 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Reds are 2-0 the last couple of times that Roark took the mound; he allowed one earned run in each of those. Roark has always pitched well against the Giants, too. In five career starts against them, he's allowed just seven earned runs through 33 combined innings. That transates to a 1.91 ERA. Roark's teams won four of those five. Yesterday notwithstanding, the Giants have been terrible on the road in recent seasons. |
05-04-19 | Nationals +109 v. Phillies | 10-8 | Win | 109 | 7 h 28 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Philadelphia starter, Arrieta is coming off his worst start of the year after giving up five runs and nine hits in five innings in a victory against Miami last Saturday. The former Cy Young Award winner has a 5.26 ERA in 13 career starts against Washington, his second-highest mark against a National League opponent, while walking 34 batters in 65 innings. Juan Soto is 3-for-6 with two homers and a double against Arrieta. |
05-04-19 | Twins v. Yankees -129 | 7-3 | Loss | -129 | 2 h 35 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Minnesota starter, After following a brilliant season debut in which he struck out 11 with a pair of clunkers on the road, Odorizzi is back in a groove and takes a three-start winning streak into Saturday's game. He went a season-high seven innings last time out against Houston and did not allow a run while yielding only four hits after beating the Astros with 5 2/3 innings of two-run ball in his previous turn. However, he owns a 2-4 record and 6.20 ERA at Yankee Stadium. New York starter, Happ also has turned things around after struggling out of the gate and turned in his third consecutive quality start last time out, earning his first victory with seven scoreless innings of five-hit ball at San Francisco. He also went seven innings in his previous turn, holding the Los Angeles Angeles to two runs on three hits after tossing 6 1/3 innings of three-run ball versus Boston. |
05-03-19 | Dodgers -151 v. Padres | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 33 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Kershaw may not have the velocity that he once did but he's still capable of dominating. Last time out, he allowed one run, on just four hits, through seven complete innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter. Kershaw has a 2.25 ERA on the season and has gone a minimum of six complete innings in each start. Lauer, on the other hand, has a 4.41 ERA and has yet to make it past the sixth. When considering that the Dodgers are a perfect 14-0 the past 14 times that Kershaw started against San Diego |
05-03-19 | Twins v. Yankees -150 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 35 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Minnesota starter, Gibson has rebounded strongly after opening the season with three ragged efforts in which he was tagged for 13 runs and 14 2/3 innings but managed to escape with a no-decision each time. He earned his first win with six innings of two-run ball against Baltimore on April 21 and was even better in a rematch seven days later, allowing one run and three hits in seven innings. Brett Gardner is 5-for-13 against Gibson, who has labored against New York with a 1-5 record and 6.86 ERA in eight starts. New York starter, Paxton just missed a third straight quality start in his last outing, pitching 5 2/3 innings and giving up three runs on five hits while striking out eight in a win at San Francisco. He was overpowering in his previous two turns, striking out 12 over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus Kansas City and dominating Boston with 12 strikeouts over eight scoreless innings of two-hit ball. Byron Buxton is 3-for-8 against Paxton, who is 3-1 with a 2.51 ERA in five starts versus the Twins. |
05-03-19 | Cardinals v. Cubs +101 | 0-4 | Win | 101 | 2 h 53 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units St. Louis starter, Flaherty is coming off his deepest outing of the season as he threw seven scoreless innings to beat Cincinnati on Sunday. The 23-year-old has won three of his last four starts and has 26 strikeouts and only three walks during that stretch. Flaherty is 1-1 with a 3.29 ERA in four games (three starts) against the Cubs. Chicago starter, Hendricks followed up his best start of the year - seven scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts against Arizona on April 19 - by allowing seven runs in five frames in a rematch with the Diamondbacks on Friday. The 29-year-old has pitched into the sixth only once in five starts. Hendricks is 5-2 with a 3.38 ERA in 14 starts against St. Louis. |
05-02-19 | Red Sox -184 v. White Sox | 4-6 | Loss | -184 | 7 h 35 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Boston has a big advantage on the mound with David Price. After two rocky outings to start the year, Price is on a nice streak right now, pitching 18 innings in this last three starts with four runs allowed and a fantastic 24 strikeouts. He has also walked just five batters in that span. Lucas Giolito faces a tough test as he comes back from a hamstring injury without making a rehab start. Giolito wasn’t exactly pitching well before he went down, as he’s allowed 11 total runs in his last 12 innings with 20 base runners allowed. We are sure the hamstring limited him, but coming straight back to face this Sox team is not a great spot. |
05-02-19 | Astros +108 v. Twins | 2-8 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 46 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Houston starter, Peacock received a no-decision in his last turn when he gave up one run and four hits and struck out seven in six innings against the Cleveland Indians. The 31-year-old, who is making his third straight start and fifth of the season, has a solid 1.00 WHIP and is limiting opposing hitters to a .202 average. Minnesota starter, Berrios has won three consecutive starts and has struck out 20 in 18 2/3 innings during the stretch. The 24-year-old's last two wins were against the Baltimore Orioles, including Saturday when he gave up two runs and seven hits over six innings. However, Berrios is 1-3 with an 8.36 ERA in four career starts against Houston and has been roughed up by George Springer (5-for-8, homer) and Jose Altuve (4-for-9). |
05-02-19 | Padres v. Braves -145 | 11-2 | Loss | -145 | 1 h 41 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Atlanta Braves expect Ozzie Albies and Dansby Swanson to anchor the middle of their infield for years to come, and the duo put Atlanta in position to win its four-game home series with San Diego today with a strong showing in Wednesday’s 5-1 victory. Albies tripled and doubled while finishing with a run scored and a RBI, Swanson drove in three runs with a sacrifice fly and a two-run homer, and the two teamed up on a double play as the Braves moved back to .500. Atlanta starter, Foltynewicz was dominant for much of his season debut Saturday against Colorado, but gave up two homers and didn’t retire a hitter in the seventh to end up allowing four runs on six hits. The 27-year-old, a 13-game winner in 2018 who missed the first four weeks of this season with right elbow soreness, threw 52 of his 78 pitches for strikes Saturday. |
05-01-19 | Padres v. Braves -150 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 41 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units San Diego starter, Quantrill, the Padres top pick in the 2016 draft and the organization’s No. 12 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, makes his major-league debut after five starts at Triple-A El Paso. The 24-year-old son of former major-league pitcher Paul Quantrill surrendered six earned runs (eight total) in his first start, but pitched to a 2.86 ERA and held opponents to a .215 average in his next four outings. Quantrill went 9-6 with a 4.80 ERA in 28 starts between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A last season. Atlanta starter, Fried suffered his first loss of the season in his fifth start Friday against Colorado despite a season-high eight strikeouts, giving up four runs on seven hits with no walks in 5 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old, who entered Tuesday fifth in the NL in ERA, has solidified a spot in Atlanta’s rotation by allowing two runs or fewer in his first four starts, walking more than one hitter just once while posting a 1.085 WHIP. In 14 career starts, Fried is 5-4 with a 2.71 ERA, a 1.292 WHIP and 69 strikeouts in 69 2/3 innings. |
05-01-19 | Reds +170 v. Mets | 1-0 | Win | 170 | 7 h 16 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Cincinnati is 3-0 all-time versus deGrom while deGrom is 0-3 with 9.76 ERA last three starts, and 0-2 with 12.38 ERA and 2.13 WHIP home this year. deGrom just 1-5 his last six overall team starts during May. |
04-30-19 | Yankees v. Diamondbacks -131 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 56 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The D-Backs have been outstanding against lefties this year, scoring 6.0 runs per game with an All-Star quality .296/.350/.525 team batting line. Sabathia doesn’t go deep into games anymore and that puts more pressure on the Yankees’ bullpen, which does much better at home. That bullpen has a 5.44 ERA and a 1.619 WHIP on the road. New York has been able to score runs with their ragtag lineup against lesser quality teams, but Zack Greinke is on a different level. Greinke has given up two runs in his last 20 innings with only 13 base runners allowed. He should be able to keep them down. |
04-30-19 | Indians -195 v. Marlins | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
Rating: 2 Unit One of the best pitchers in the game, Bauer is now Cleveland's ace. Even some uncharacteristic control problems (six walks!) couldn't stop him from winning his last start as he held Houston to just one run and four hits in eight innings. Miami is just awful as they have the worst record in baseball (8-20) and have scored the fewest number of runs. Sandy Alcantara starts for them Tuesday. He pitched reasonably well last Wednesday in Cleveland, but the Marlins still ended up eating the loss. In his last three starts, Alcantara has a 6.75 ERA and 1.812 WHIP. |
04-30-19 | A's v. Red Sox -150 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 50 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Oakland starter, Brooks matched a career high with seven strikeouts but did not factor in the decision on Wednesday against Texas, yielding three runs and six hits - including four for extra bases - over five innings. The 29-year-old has not fared particularly well in his two road turns, going 1-1 with a 6.55 ERA while striking out only five in 11 frames. Bogaerts has recorded three doubles in four career at-bats versus Brooks, who fired six scoreless innings en route to a win in his season debut on April 1. Boston starter, Porcello's first quality start of the season led to his first win Thursday against Detroit as he permitted three runs in six innings. The 2016 Cy Young Award winner has rebounded a bit from a winless three-game stretch to begin the campaign during which he posted an 11.12 ERA, going 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA over his last two turns. |
04-29-19 | Dodgers v. Giants +136 | 2-3 | Win | 136 | 10 h 11 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units San Francisco starter, Samardzija is 2-0 with 2.31 ERA and 0.94 WHIP at home this season, and 3-0 last three home April team-starts. Dodgers starter, Maeda is coming off his worst outing of the season, surrendering six runs on seven hits and three walks across a season-low four innings in Tuesday's loss at the Chicago Cubs. The 31-year-old is 1-2 with a 7.53 ERA in three road turns (2-0, 2.70 in two home starts) and has given up 11 runs in 9 1/3 frames over his last two such outings. Joe Panik (6-for-14) and Yangervis Solarte (5-for-14) have each homered versus Maeda, who is 0-2 with an 8.16 ERA in six career appearances (three starts) at Oracle Park.. |
04-29-19 | Padres v. Braves -152 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 50 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units In both of his starts, Mike Soroka has given up just one run. The Braves righty probably won't have to deal with Fernando Tatis Jr, the Padres shortstop who left yesterday's game with an injury. Tatis is one of San Diego's best hitters and was on a 12-game hitting streak. In all games this year, the Padres are averaging just 3.6 runs per game. They've actually been outscored despite having a 16-12 record. Braves hitters will face another Padres rookie, that being Nick Margevicius. He's been solid, but he had five walks in his last start and that came on the heels of allowing five runs to Colorado before that. Atlanta may have a losing record, but they've scored more runs than they've given up. While they've been much better on the road in 2019, San Diego is still 30 games below .500 outside of Petco Park since the start of the 2017 season. |
04-29-19 | A's +127 v. Red Sox | 4-9 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 43 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The A's have won seven of the last nine head-to-head meetings and they're 6-2 right-hander Frankie Montas (4-1, 3.10 ERA) last eight road starts. Montas is 3-0 with a 3.50 ERA in his last three outings and owns a solid 26/8 K/BB ratio over 29 innings of work this season. The Red Sox suffered a pair of losses to the Rays over the weekend. Tonight they hand the ball to Eduardo Rodriguez (2-2, 5.88 ERA) who has lowered his ERA significantly since an abysmal start to the season, but he has still struggled with his command lately as well as the long ball. Rodriguez gave up three free passes through six innings against the Tigers last time out, which was his first outing without serving a home run this season. Rodriguez last faced the A's on April 4 when he was tagged with six runs on eight hits in just 3 2/3 frames of a 7-3 loss. |
04-28-19 | Indians -103 v. Astros | 1-4 | Loss | -103 | 8 h 54 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Cleveland starter, Carrasco suffered a bruised left leg that limited him to four innings in start against Miami on Tuesday, but he is expected be ready to vie for his third straight scoreless outing. The 32-year-old Venezuelan, who has struck out 33 batters and walked five in 21 frames this season, allowed five hits over 11 scoreless innings in his last two starts. Houston starter, Miley has posted quality starts in his last two trips to the mound but finished with a loss and a no-decision as he permitted a total of five runs over 12 innings. The 32-year-old native of Louisiana, who has registered 18 strikeouts and five walks in 27 2/3 frames this year, has not allowed more than three runs in any contest. Carlos Santana (6-for-11), Carlos Gonzalez (9-for-23, homer) and Lindor (5-for-10) have given Miley trouble. The clincher: Cleveland is 6-1 in their last seven road games vs. teams with a winning record. |
04-28-19 | Rangers v. Mariners -120 | 14-1 | Loss | -120 | 5 h 4 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Seattle starter, Swanson comes in with a 3.86 ERA and 0.77 WHIP this season while Texas starter, Lynn has a 6.51 ERA with a 1.55 WHIP this season. Texas is 2-7 in Lynn's last nine team starts in April, including 1-4 away. |
04-28-19 | Reds v. Cardinals -136 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 13 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Cardinals come in having won six of their last seven at home and 11 of their last 13 at Busch. The visitors starter, Sonny Gray (0-3, 3.65) gave up four runs off six hits over 5 1/3’s innings in a fortunate no-decision vs. the Braves on Tuesday. Despite their big offensive explosion on Friday night, the Reds are still a pathetic 4-9 (-4.4 units) this season as an underdog in the +100 to +150 range. While the Cards are a solid 5-2 (+2.3 units) this year as a home favorite in the -100 to -150 range. |
04-28-19 | Rockies v. Braves -152 | 7-8 | Win | 100 | 2 h 23 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Colorado starter, Anderson struggled to a no-decision in his first start since returning from a stint on the injured list with left knee inflammation Monday against Washington, allowing five runs and three walks over three innings. The 29-year-old made two starts before landing on the IL, giving up 11 runs on 18 hits across nine innings in losses to Miami and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Anderson pitched six innings in his only career appearance against Atlanta, surrendering three runs on eight hits with six strikeouts to earn the victory on July 23, 2016. Atlanta starter, Gausman battled through 5 1/3 innings Tuesday at Cincinnati but never could get into a rhythm, giving up six runs (five earned) on eight hits with two walks and six strikeouts in a 7-6 loss. The 28-year-old has limited opponents to a .195/.263/.356 slash line through his first four starts, striking out 28 with only eight walks across 25 innings. Gausman, who faces the Rockies for the first time in his career, brings a WHIP of 1.00 into Sunday’s outing and is 6-5 with a 3.19 ERA in 14 starts since being traded to Atlanta from Baltimore last July. |
04-27-19 | Rangers v. Mariners -105 | 15-1 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 38 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Texas starter, Minor lost to Oakland in his last turn as he gave up four runs and four hits over six innings. The 31-year-old fired a three-hit shutout against the Los Angeles Angels in his previous turn and has worked at least six frames in each of his last four starts. Minor is 1-3 with a 4.91 ERA in eight career appearances (five starts) against Seattle and has struggled with Haniger (5-for-10, two doubles, triple). Seattle starter, Leake served up three homers for the second time in a three-start span when he lost to the Angels in his last turn after giving up four runs and six hits over six innings. The 31-year-old has allowed eight blasts in just 29 1/3 frames, but they all have come during his three road starts. Leake is 1-1 with a 2.92 ERA in six career starts against Texas. |
04-27-19 | Brewers v. Mets -128 | 8-6 | Loss | -128 | 7 h 35 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Milwaukee starter, Woodruff allowed four or more runs in three of his past four starts, including last Sunday when he gave up five tallies on seven hits across 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 26-year-old Mississippi State product registered both of his wins against St. Louis, permitting a total of four runs over 10 2/3 innings. Woodruff, who has struck out 32 batters across 26 1/3 innings combined this year, meets the Mets for the first time in his career. New York starter, Syndergaard has followed up his first win of the season by struggling in his last two trips to the mound, allowing 11 runs (nine earned) on 17 hits over 10 innings. The 26-year-old Texan, who boasts 34 strikeouts across 29 innings in 2019, completed at least six frames in his first three starts of the campaign. Syndergaard, was 0-0 with a 2.38 ERA in two starts versus Milwaukee last season. |
04-27-19 | Yankees -101 v. Giants | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 4 h 58 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Holland hasn’t been sharp lately, allowing seven runs in his last 11 innings. Even with the Yankees’ injury woes they are scoring 6.3 runs per game in the last week. He should have a tough time keeping up with JA Happ on the other side. Happ’s big problem this year has come with the long ball so taking on a weak offense like San Francisco’s in this cavernous park is an ideal situation for him. The Giants are 4-8 in day games, scoring 2.1 runs per game with an awful .543 team OPS. He should thrive here. |

04-26-19 | Reds v. Cardinals -143 | 12-1 | Loss | -143 | 10 h 13 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units St. Louis starter, Mikolas is 4-0 career team starts in this series and 6-1 ATS last seven team starts during April while Cincinnati starter, DeScalfani is 1-4 last five away team starts during April. DeScalfani also comes in with a 6.93 ERA in his last three starts. |
04-26-19 | Angels v. Royals +120 | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 6 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Los Angeles starter, Skaggs allowed four runs and seven hits (three homers) while striking out seven in 5-1 loss to the Cubs in Chicago on April 12. The 27-year-old Californian began the season in fine fashion, yielding three runs and 10 hits with two walks against seven strikeouts over 11 innings in a victory over Texas and a setback at Oakland. Skaggs is 1-1 in three starts versus Kansas City, allowing one run and striking out 22 in 21 frames. Kansas City starter, Duffy made a rehab start for Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Saturday, allowing an unearned run and four hits with seven strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings on 78 pitches - 50 for strikes. “I’m excited to throw and be back in the big leagues because it feels like it’s been a long time,” the 30-year-old Californian, who had last pitched March 24 during spring training, told reporters. Duffy is 2-1 with a 4.06 ERA in six games (five starts) versus the Angels. |
04-26-19 | Rockies v. Braves -156 | 8-4 | Loss | -156 | 9 h 21 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Braves’ starter Max Fried (3-0, 1.38 ERA) dominated the Rockies at Coors Field at the start of April, holding them to one run over six innings. The visitors counter with Antonio Senzatela (1-1, 3.55) who comes in off a loss to the Phillies on Saturday. Fried though enters on top form to go along with his tiny 1.38 ERA, note that Fried has also conceded only four earned runs total over 26 frames of work thus far. |
04-26-19 | Padres v. Nationals -174 | 4-3 | Loss | -174 | 9 h 10 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units In four starts vs. the Padres, Scherzer has allowed four ER on 15 hits in 28 2/3 innings with 44 strikeouts and only four walks. Not the surprisingly, the Nats are 3-1 in those games, the last two of which were here at Nationals Park. The Nats offense could use a boost and they might get it from the return of 3B Anthony Rendon, who has been out for five games with an elbow contusion after being hit by a pitch. The Nationals are 11-5 in Scherzer's last 16 home starts vs. teams with a winning record. |
04-25-19 | Yankees +102 v. Angels | 5-11 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 59 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units New York starter Masahiro Tanaka has allowed a single earned run or less in four of his five starts this year and his track record against the Angels is stellar: a 1.59 ERA in six career starts. Los Angeles starter, Trevor Cahill has a miserable track record against the Yankees, and he’s already allowed as many homers in 2019 (through five starts) as he did in the 20 starts he had last year. |
04-25-19 | Tigers v. Red Sox -200 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 23 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Tigers starter Jordan Zimmerman, who is winless in five starts this year and lost three straight decisions. While Rick Porcello has hardly been any better for Boston, he did toss 5 2/3 solid innings in his last start (vs. a good Tampa Bay team) and the team won. The Tigers are 12-23 the previous three seasons after allowing 10 or more runs the previous game. |
04-25-19 | Diamondbacks +103 v. Pirates | 5-0 | Win | 103 | 2 h 21 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Arizonza starter, Greinke is 9-4 team-starts versus Pittsburgh and 7-1 last eight team-starts during April while Pirates starter, Taillon is 2-5 last seven team-starts during April. |
04-24-19 | Phillies -123 v. Mets | 6-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Philadelphia starter, Velasquez has a 2.70 ERA with 1.02 WHIP this season while New York starter, Vargas has a 6.75 ERA with 2.14 WHIP this season. In addition, Vargas is 2-7 at home in his career teams starts against Philadelphia |
04-24-19 | Mariners v. Padres -169 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 5 h 1 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Paddack had a 2.10 ERA in the minors last season. This spring, he had a 1.76 ERA through five starts, the final one coming against the Mariners. Through four big league starts, Paddack has a stellar 2.25 ERA and 0.800 WHIP. Hernandez, on the other hand, has a 4.91 ERA and 1.473 WHIP. Hernandez has an ugly 7.71 ERA and 1.857 WHIP. |
04-24-19 | Rangers v. A's OVER 9 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 5 h 0 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Drew Smyly has allowed four runs in each of his last three starts and while he boasts an excellent 17 strikeouts in that span, it’s only 12 innings with 15 hits and eight walks allowed. He has an ugly 9.00 ERA with a 1.917 WHIP, with rumors of an injury swirling. After the Rangers’ string-pullers digest all of this negative information, they may opt instead for Kyle Dowdy, who has only four MLB appearances, all in relief. He’d be pitching in front of bullpen that’s been exhausted in this series. The A’s offense is at their best against lefties, scoring 5.2 runs per game. Texas is quite good vs. righties, averaging 5.5 runs per game with a .786 team OPS. They are red-hot right now as well, pushing those particular numbers to 6.4 and .838, respectively. Aaron Brooks hasn’t exactly been good for the A’s, with teams scoring 13 times against him in his last 16 innings. |
04-24-19 | Brewers v. Cardinals -120 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 2 h 17 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Milwaukee starter, Chacin received a no-decision after allowing two runs, five hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings of Milwaukee's 5-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. The 31-year-old Venezuelan was 0-7 lifetime versus St. Louis before beating the Cardinals twice at the end of last season and on Opening Day 2019, when he yielded three runs and three hits (two home runs) with seven strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. St. Louis' Marcell Ozuna is 6-for-14 with two doubles, two walks and four RBIs against Chacin, who has a 5.66 ERA versus the Cardinals and is 2-2, 3.55 in five turns at Busch Stadium. ST. Louis starter, Wainwright permitted four runs (three earned), eight hits and three walks in three innings of a 5-4 loss to the New York Mets on Friday. The 37-year-old Georgian allowed three runs and eight hits with 13 strikeouts against two walks over 12 innings in his previous two starts - a loss at Cincinnati and a victory over San Diego. The Brewers' Ryan Braun is batting .208 with two home runs, four doubles and 23 strikeouts in 86 at-bats versus Wainwright, who is 15-9 with a 2.36 ERA in 38 games (31 starts) versus Milwaukee. |
04-23-19 | Diamondbacks +110 v. Pirates | 2-1 | Win | 110 | 8 h 11 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Arizona Diamondbacks put a 12-4 beating on the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday night. Weaver (1-1, 3.92 ERA) held Atlanta scoreless through five innings last time out. The 25-year old right-hander allowed just four hits and a walk while fanning nine. The Pirates turn to righty Trevor Williams (1-0, 2.59 ERA) who surrendered two runs and six hits in six innings against Detroit last time out. Williams was tagged with six runs on 11 hits in nine innings of a pair of losses to Arizona in 2018. Bad timing for him to face the D'Backs again now as their bats seem to have come alive. Diamondbacks are 6-0 in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning record. Pirates are 1-6 in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. |
04-23-19 | Braves -107 v. Reds | 6-7 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 37 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Reds are 8-13 on the year thanks in large part to an offense that is hitting .198/.255/.376 as a group. They have actually been much worse than that lately, scoring 2.9 runs per game in there last seven with an unsightly .525 team OPS. That is not a good time to face a guy like Kevin Gausman who looks like he is finally putting it together. He has a 2.75 ERA in his last 19.2 innings and has pitched better than that with a 0.763 WHIP and 22 strikeouts in those innings. Sonny Gray looks rejuvenated here, but the Braves’ offense has scored 6.1 runs per game away from home. |
04-22-19 | Yankees -104 v. Angels | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 51 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units New York starter, Happ is 7-1 last eight overall team starts during April while Los Angeles starter, Harvey has a 15.12 ERA and 2.52 WHIP at home this season and is 1-5 last five overall team starts. |
04-22-19 | Phillies +104 v. Mets | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 35 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Philadelphia starter, Arrieta recorded his second straight win on Wednesday after allowing two runs on six hits in eight innings of a 3-2 victory over the Mets. "I feel good and I've been able to spin the ball well. The timing of my delivery now is really good," said the 2015 National League Cy Young Award recipient, who has worked at least seven frames in three straight starts. Arrieta, who owns a 3-3 mark with a 2.33 ERA in 11 career starts versus New York, has handcuffed Amed Rosario (0-for-10) and Keon Broxton (0-for-9). New York starter, Matz pitched well in the three outings prior to the shellacking in Philadelphia, surrendering five runs on 12 hits while striking out 19 over 16 1/3 innings. The southpaw will look to regain that form when he faces the Phillies, against whom he owns an 0-3 mark with a 5.96 ERA in six career starts. Matz has seen J.T. Realmuto (4-for-10) and Maikel Franco (3-for-6, homer) enjoy success against him, although he has flustered Rhys Hoskins (1-for-10). |
04-22-19 | Nationals v. Rockies -116 | 5-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Colorado took three of four from the Phillies over the weekend and it’s now won six of its last seven overall. Colorado slugger Charlie Blackmon was 10 for 18 in the series win over Philadelphia. Rockies’ starter Tyler Anderson (0-2, 11.00 ERA) will now also look to leave his early season struggles in the rear-view mirror. Perhaps a date vs. the Nationals is just what the doctor ordered to get back on track, as note that he’s 1-0 with a 2.50 ERA in three starts vs. Washington for his career. The visitors counter with Jeremy Hellickson (2-0, 2.63) who gave up two runs over five innings vs. the Giants in his latest start, but who is a poor 1-1 with a ballooned 6.00 ERA in two outings against the Rockies for his career. |
04-21-19 | Blue Jays v. A's -147 | 5-4 | Loss | -147 | 4 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Toronto starter, Sanchez will be making his fourth straight road start and looking to bounce back from an uneven outing at Minnesota on Tuesday. He held the Twins to just four hits in six innings but gave up a season-high four earned runs while walking four and allowing his first two home runs of the year. Oakland slugger Khris Davis is 3-for-5 with a home run against the 26-year-old Sanchez, who has been knocked around for 10 runs in 10 1/3 innings through his first two career starts versus the Athletics. Oakland starter, Anderson has three quality starts among his first four outings, including six innings with two earned runs allowed at Texas last Sunday. The 31-year-old is 16-12 with a 3.44 ERA in his career in Oakland. Justin Smoak is 4-for-12 with two doubles and two walks against Anderson. *****Note: Do Not play if listed pitchers are different than actual***** |
04-21-19 | Astros -170 v. Rangers | 10-11 | Loss | -170 | 3 h 29 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Houston starter, McHugh has strung together three straight quality starts after blanking Oakland on two hits across six innings Tuesday in a victory. The 31-year-old Illinois native, who spent last season in the bullpen, has struck out 27 batters and walked seven in 23 innings overall while not allowing more than two runs in a game. Danny Santana is 6-for-12 with a double and a homer versus McHugh, who was 1-0 over 9 2/3 scoreless innings against Texas in 2018. Texas starter, Miller has yet to make it through five innings in his first three starts of 2019, but he completed a season-high 4 1/3 frames Monday while giving up four runs in a no-decision against the Los Angeles Angels. The 28-year-old Texan, who has issued 11 free passes in 10 innings, gave up two runs on six hits and five walks across 3 2/3 innings against Houston on April 2. Josh Reddick is 6-for-7 with a double against Miller, who owns a 4.66 ERA in three career games (two starts) versus the Astros. *****Note: Do NOT play if pitchers listed are different than actual***** |
04-21-19 | Mets -125 v. Cardinals | 4-6 | Loss | -125 | 3 h 44 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Noah Syndergaard has had a weird year where he has mostly pitched great, but thanks to some bad fortune, has a 5.62 ERA. His stuff looks as good as ever and the underlying stats are good as he has 29 strikeouts in 24 innings with 22 hits allowed. He faced them twice last year, allowing five runs in 13.1 innings with 17 strikeouts. New York’s offense will have a good chance at a rebound against Dakota Hudson. The Mets historically hit better on the road and with the way Hudson is pitching they can show it here. Hudson has allowed nine earned runs in his 12.2 innings on 21 hits, five of which were home runs. With a 2.368 WHIP, it’s not crazy to think his ERA should be higher. *****Note: Do Not play if actual pitchers are different than listed above***** |
04-21-19 | Dodgers -121 v. Brewers | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 45 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Los Angeles starter, Kershaw worked his way back from the shoulder inflammation that delayed the start of his season by firing seven innings of two-run ball in his season debut Monday in a no-decision against Cincinnati. Kershaw, is 6-5 with a 2.86 ERA in 14 starts against Milwaukee. Milwaukee starter, Woodruff earned his first victory in his last three trips to the mound Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing two runs despite giving up seven hits and two walks across 5 2/3 frames. The Mississippi State product has completed six innings only once and failed to register a quality start in four tries, although he has amassed 26 strikeouts over 20 2/3 innings. *******Do Not Play if actual starter is different than listed above****** |
04-20-19 | Phillies v. Rockies +107 | 8-5 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 39 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units After his near Cy Young campaign, there were huge expectations for Aaron Nola going into this year but through four starts it’s been a total flop. He hasn’t even thrown 20 innings in those four starts, with an ugly 7.45 ERA and a 1.655 WHIP. Colorado’s offense hasn’t kicked into gear yet, but they are still solid at home. Nola is in a bad place right now and pitching at altitude won’t help him. Antonio Senzatela made his season debut earlier in the week against the Padres and it went quite well as he allowed just a single run in 6.2 innings. He also pitched well in a win against these Phillies late last year with one run allowed in 4.2 innings of work in a Colorado win. |
04-20-19 | Braves v. Indians -155 | 8-7 | Loss | -155 | 1 h 36 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Bauer is off to a flying start after finishing sixth in the AL Cy Young race a season ago, ranking fourth in the AL in strikeouts (32), sixth in ERA and seventh in hits per nine innings (5.47). The 28-year-old rebounded from his first loss of the season with his third start - out of four - with one or fewer runs allowed Monday at Seattle, giving up five hits while striking out eight. Bauer, who is holding opponents to a .172/.274/.301 slash line, is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in two career starts against the Braves (2012, 2016). |
04-20-19 | Red Sox v. Rays -134 | 6-5 | Loss | -134 | 7 h 5 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Porcello issued five walks in four innings and was charged with three runs and six hits in a loss to Baltimore last Saturday, which lowered his ERA from 13.50 to 11.12. The former AL Cy Young Award winner is struggling with his command and issued a total of 12 walks to go with 22 hits in 11 1/3 innings over his first three outings. Porcello made five starts against Tampa Bay last season and went 2-2 with a 4.34 ERA, with both losses coming at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay starter, Morton is 12-5 his last seventeen team starts during April, including 8-3 at home. |
04-19-19 | Blue Jays +118 v. A's | 5-1 | Win | 118 | 9 h 26 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Toronto Blue Jays earned their first series win of the season with a 7-4 triumph at Minnesota on Thursday. The Jays scored a total 19 runs as they claimed three of four games. Toronto right-hander Marcus Stroman (0-3, 1.99 ERA) is still be without a win here in 2019, however the right-hander has received just six runs of support in his four starts. The A's hand the ball to Aaron Brooks (2-1, 4.24 ERA) who tossed six scoreless innings in his season debut, but his two outings since have not been quite as sharp. Oakland has played just three games over the last six days, and they didn't play yesterday and are 1-6 in their last seven games following an off day. |
04-19-19 | Phillies +130 v. Rockies | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 3 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Marquez (2-1, 2.00 ERA) has been a bright spot for Colorado and for the most part he’s been decent vs. Philly throughout his career, going 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA in three career starts, allowing seven runs over 19 innings opposed. Velazquez (0-0, 2.25) is 2-1 with a 5.23 ERA in six career starts vs. the Rockies. However, Philadelphia has won all three games in which he’s pitched so far this season. Consider that Philadelphia is 10-5 (+3.7 units) vs. right-handed starters this year, while Colorado is just 3-7 (-5 units) in the same position. |
04-19-19 | Giants -110 v. Pirates | 1-4 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 56 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Giants go with veteran Madison Bumgarner (1-2, 3.12 ERA), who most recently earned his first win of the year vs. the Rockies on Saturday, giving up two runs, but walking none and striking out seven over seven innings. Bumgarner has seven career starts vs. the Pirates and he’s posted a very respectable 2.84 ERA. The Pirates counter with Jordan Lyles (1-0, 0.82) who has been fantastic for his new team to open the young season. Last year though he was a pedestrian 3-4 with a 4.11 ERA and in 19 appearances vs. the Giants he owns a ballooned 5.85 ERA. |
04-19-19 | Mets v. Cardinals -145 | 5-4 | Loss | -145 | 7 h 55 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Vargas was not very good last year and he’s fallen off the rails so far this year with a 10.13 ERA and a 2.63 WHIP in his two starts spanning just 5.1 innings. Those numbers don’t include the four runs in his one inning of relief. The Cardinals’ offense is putting up 6.6 runs per game in the last week with an. 897 team OPS. Adam Wainwright makes the start for St. Louis and he has looked revitalized in his last two starts. Facing the Padres and Reds, he allowed three runs in 12 innings with 13 strikeouts and two walks. The Mets have dropped three of their last four games, scoring three runs or fewer three times. |
04-19-19 | Red Sox v. Rays -113 | 6-4 | Loss | -113 | 7 h 39 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Boston Sox, haven’t showed any character all year and are dealing with a suddenly panicky locker room following their ugly showing in the Bronx earlier in the week. Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez is no streak stopper right now; roughed up in two of his first three starts, and the bullpen behind him simply cannot be trusted. |
04-17-19 | Angels v. Rangers -125 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 5 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Los Angeles starter, Harvey pitched well in his debut for the Angels but has struggled since, surrendering 14 runs and 17 hits over 8 1/3 innings in two starts. The 30-year-old native of Connecticut was fortunate to escape with a no-decision versus Milwaukee last Tuesday as he was tagged for six runs in 4 1/3 frames. Harvey made his first career start against Texas on April 4 and did not fare well as he yielded eight runs and 10 hits across four innings of a loss. Texas starter, Lynn has bounced back from a dismal performance in his debut with the Rangers, allowing three runs and nine hits with 14 strikeouts and three walks over 13 innings in his last two starts. The 31-year-old native of Indiana suffered a road setback against the Angels on April 5 despite giving up just two runs in seven frames but notched a victory in Arizona last Wednesday after permitting only one run across six innings. |
04-17-19 | Diamondbacks v. Braves -159 | 3-2 | Loss | -159 | 7 h 28 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Atlanta starter, Gausman is off to a strong start with a 2.84 ERA and a 0.868 WHIP in his first two starts with 12 strikeouts in 12.2 innings. Arizona starter, Zack Godley, did have one good start against the cold Red Sox, but the other two starts have been very bad. Overall, he’s allowed 15 total runs across 17 innings with four home runs allowed. He’s made three starts against the Braves in his career and has been similarly bad with a 7.41 ERA. The Braves are 7-4 at home this year, scoring almost six runs per game. They should add another win here. |
04-17-19 | Cubs -156 v. Marlins | 6-0 | Win | 100 | 5 h 13 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Chicago’s bullpen is fresh: a snow-out in Chicago on Sunday followed by solid outings from Yu Darvish and Jose Quintana to open the series. The Marlins bullpen anything but rested and ready following Sunday’s demoralizing 14 inning loss to the Phillies followed by short outings from their starter in each of the first two games of this series. Cubs starter Cole Hamels has thrown back-2-back gems after a rough debut in his opener at Arlington. Marlins rookie Sandy Alcantara got blasted by the Phillies in his last start on the heels of a ‘five walks in four innings’ outing against Atlanta. |
04-17-19 | Pirates -104 v. Tigers | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 44 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Tigers have lost four straight and has scored four or fewer runs in 14 of its 16 games thus far. Tigers’ starter Spencer Turnbull (0-2, 4.80 ERA) who makes his eighth major league appearance and seventh career start is still looking for his first major league victory. Pirates starter, Trevor Williams (1-0, 2.45) has gone at least six innings in each of his first three starts, most recently holding the Nats to two runs over seven innings of work. Also note that in two career starts versus Detroit Williams given up no runs and one hit over 13 innings |
04-16-19 | Indians -111 v. Mariners | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 2 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Mariners have homered in every game, but even two in the eighth inning weren't enough yesterday vs. Cleveland. The Indians won 6-4, thanks to another strong effort from starter Trevor Bauer. We should see something similar tonight from Shane Bieber, who has NEVER lost a road start in his career (8-0 all-time) and just threw seven shutout innings at Detroit last Thursday. Seattle's Mike Leake has a very misleading 3-0 team start record. I say that because his ERA and WHIP are 4.15 and 1.44. Leake has faced three terrible teams so far (Boston, KC, White Sox). The Mariners continue to fade. |
04-16-19 | Mets v. Phillies -113 | 3-14 | Win | 100 | 7 h 7 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Pivetta held opponents to a .249 batting average while striking out 113 in 91.1 innings at home last season. Matz had a 1.49 WHIP in road games last season. That means he allowed 3 baserunners every 2 innings on average. That is a quick way to get yourself in trouble and the Phillies will be in bounce back mode after losing yesterday's game in extra innings. The Mets are on a 57-96 run in games against teams with a winning record the past 2+ seasons. The Phillies are 4-1 after a loss this season. |
04-16-19 | Red Sox +102 v. Yankees | 0-8 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 41 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Sale is easily off to the worst start to a season in his decorated career, giving up at least five runs in two of his first three turns while having lasted no more than four innings in those same outings. The seven-time All-Star was tagged for five runs on seven hits in four frames at home last Tuesday against Toronto after road losses at Seattle and Oakland. Sale boasts a 1.86 ERA in eight career appearances (seven starts) at Yankee Stadium and has tormented Aaron Judge, who is 3-for-18 with 13 strikeouts against him.Sale is 3-0 last three team starts in this series while the Yankees Tanaka is 0-3 last three team starts during April. |
04-15-19 | Reds +1.5 v. Dodgers | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 38 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Reds will send Luis Castillo (1-1, 0.92 ERA) to the mound. The right-hander has been excellent in his first three starts of the season and tossed seven shutout innings of a 14-0 win against the Miami Marlins last time out. Castillo is 2-0 in his career against the Dodgers with only four runs (three earned) allowed while fanning 17 through 12 1/3 innings of work. The Reds are 6-1 in the last seven meetings and they've won four straight at Dodger Stadium. NOTE: This is a run line selection |
04-15-19 | Indians v. Mariners -100 | 6-4 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 35 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Bauer suffered his first loss last time out, allowing four runs and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings at Detroit, after two dominant starts to open the season. The 28-year-old UCLA product, who has registered 24 strikeouts in 19 2/3 frames this year, permitted one run and one hit over 14 innings in his first two turns. Ryon Healy is 4-for-11 with a double and four RBIs versus Bauer, who is 1-4 with a 4.60 ERA in eight career games against Seattle. Kikuchi left his start against the Royals on Wednesday due to leg cramps but is expected to be ready on four days' rest after allowing three runs and five hits over six innings. The 27-year-old rookie from Japan has struck out 15 batters and walked just three while serving up four home runs in 21 2/3 frames. Left-handed hitters are just 1-for-11 against Kikuchi, who has posted two quality starts in his first four major-league outings. |

04-15-19 | Cardinals v. Brewers -131 | 7-10 | Win | 100 | 8 h 11 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Hudson didn't fare well in his first start against Milwaukee, allowing solo homers to Christian Yelich and Shaw as well as a two-run shot to Mike Moustakas among seven hits over 4 1/3 innings of a 4-2 setback on March 30. The 24-year-old, who allowed just two hits over 3 1/3 scoreless innings of relief versus the Brewers last season, rebounded by retiring two batters in a brief relief appearance at Pittsburgh on April 3. Peralta sputtered out of the blocks in his season-opening start, yielding four runs on six hits across three innings of a no-decision against St. Louis. The 22-year-old Dominican pitched better in a pair of outings versus the Cardinals last season, allowing three runs in six frames of a 5-2 setback on Aug. 17 before surrendering a lone run in 3 2/3 innings on Sept. 24. Peralta rebounded from his season-opening start in a big way by scattering two hits and striking out 11 in eight innings of a 1-0 win at Cincinnati . |
04-15-19 | Mets v. Phillies -114 | 7-6 | Loss | -114 | 8 h 45 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Noah Syndergaard has given up 4 homers in his 5 career starts at Citizens Bank Park and this is the most potent Phillies lineup he will have faced. His numbers overall against the Phillies are solid but he has just 1 win in his last 4 starts in Philly and Syndergaard has also been prone to giving up big hits this season as well. That is why he has a 4.74 ERA so far this season. Aaron Nola's numbers look a little rough this season too but that was mostly due to one bad start at Washington. In his two home starts he has a 3.65 ERA and has held opponents to a .214 BAA. Nola struggled with the Mets in his rookie season but of course he has been a different pitcher since then. The past 3 seasons he dominated New York to the tune of a 6-0 record, 2.54 ERA, and holding them to a .200 batting average in those 8 starts. |
04-14-19 | Mets -139 v. Braves | 3-7 | Loss | -139 | 9 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units New York starter, deGrom and his streak of consecutive quality starts ended at 26 on Tuesday against Minnesota, as he allowed six runs on eight hits with only three strikeouts in four innings. He looked like his dominant self in his first two outings, striking out 24 hitters in 13 scoreless innings with two walks, eight hits and no walks in victories over Washington and Miami. The Stetson product pitched outstanding against the Braves last season but received no support, posting a 0.88 ERA but going 1-2 in six starts. Atlanta starter, Teheran has started the season strong with one bad inning in his last start Monday at Colorado skewing his numbers. Teheran gave up six runs in the fifth against the Rockies and finished with five hits allowed in five frames, earning his first victory in an 8-6 Atlanta triumph. Teheran, who struck out 14 with just four runs yielded in his first two starts, went 1-2 in five starts against New York in 2018. |
04-14-19 | Padres v. Diamondbacks -129 | 4-8 | Win | 100 | 6 h 7 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units San Diego starter, Lauer allowed five runs over six innings against San Francisco on Monday but earned his second victory after the Padres rallied from an early deficit. Big innings have been a problem for the 23-year-old native of Ohio, who allowed four runs in the fourth inning of an 8-5 loss to Arizona on April 2. Ketel Marte is 4-for-8 with a home run versus Lauer, who is 1-1 with a 2.76 ERA in three games against the Diamondbacks. Arizona starter, Greinke received a no-decision Tuesday after allowing four runs (three earned) with nine strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings against Texas. The five-time All-Star has struggled early in his first three starts, giving up nine of the 14 runs he’s allowed in the first two innings. Margot (6-for-10, one home run) and Hunter Renfroe (6-for-15, three homers) have enjoyed success against Greinke, who is a stellar 12-2 with a 2.29 ERA in 23 career starts versus San Diego. |
04-14-19 | Indians -135 v. Royals | 8-9 | Loss | -135 | 4 h 18 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Cleveland starter, Kluber rebounded from a rocky outing on April 3 with a strong winning effort Tuesday in Detroit, allowing two runs - one earned - while striking out eight across six innings. The two-time Cy Young Award winner was sharp in his only other road turn as well, taking the loss on Opening Day at Minnesota despite yielding two runs in seven frames. Alex Gordon (8-for-55, 22 strikeouts) and Merrifield (8-for-33) have struggled versus Kluber, who is 7-2 with a 2.70 ERA in his last 11 starts against Kansas City. Kansas City starter, Junis continued to record strikeouts at an impressive rate Tuesday but took the loss against Seattle after permitting four runs and eight hits in four frames. The 26-year-old fanned six batters in the outing and has recorded 20 strikeouts over 15 2/3 innings, yet he has surrendered at least three runs in each of his turns. Jose Ramirez (5-for-13, two doubles) and Carlos Santana (3-for-4) are among the Indians who have fared well against Junis, who is 2-2 with a 5.63 ERA in six career appearances (five starts) versus Cleveland. |
04-13-19 | Astros -184 v. Mariners | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 1 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Verlander defeated Tampa Bay in his season-opening start but followed with back-to-back no-decisions. The 36-year-old gave up three runs and seven hits over six innings against the New York Yankees in his last turn on Monday. Verlander is 12-9 with a 3.30 ERA in 25 career starts versus the Mariners and has enjoyed success against Edwin Encarnacion (4-for-35, two homers). Hernandez gave up two runs and three hits in one inning against Kansas City on Monday before leaving with an illness. The 33-year-old picked up the win against the Los Angeles Angels in his first start after giving up three runs - one earned - and seven hits over 5 1/3 frames. Hernandez is 4-6 with a 4.42 ERA in 13 career starts against Houston and has experienced major difficulties with Altuve (14-for-29, one homer, four doubles). |
04-13-19 | Padres v. Diamondbacks -105 | 5-4 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 52 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Arizona starter, Kelly is 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA, giving up three runs over six innings in a win over these very Padres on April 1st, before then receiving a loss of the hard-luck variety in his second outing vs. the Red Sox, going eight innings and allowing four hits and one run while walking none and striking out nine. San Diego counters with the volatile Matt Strahm, who is 0-2 with a 7.04 ERA. Strahm faced the D-Backs on April 1st and allowed five runs off eight hits over 2 2/3’s innings. Over seven appearances vs. Arizona Strahm is 0-1 with a ballooned 6.00 ERA. |
04-13-19 | Mets v. Braves -141 | 7-11 | Win | 100 | 8 h 22 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Vargas appeared out of the New York bullpen Tuesday against Minnesota and struggled, giving up four runs on four hits in one inning. The 36-year-old has made one start so far this season, getting the win on April 2 at Miami in allowing two runs on eight hits with two strikeouts in five innings. Vargas is 2-2 in six career starts against Atlanta with a 4.01 ERA, giving up three hits across seven shutout innings to beat the Braves in his final start of 2018. Newcomb rebounded from a shaky start in his season debut to pitch well Sunday against Miami, giving up two runs on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts in seven innings. The 25-year-old, who was in line for the win Sunday until Atlanta blew a ninth-inning lead, walked four in four innings against the Cubs on April 1. Newcomb went 1-0 in three starts against the Mets a season ago, posting an ERA of 1.00 with eight walks and 21 strikeouts in 18 innings. |
04-13-19 | Pirates v. Nationals -115 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 11 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Archer will start on Saturday while on appeal after Major League Baseball handed him a five-game suspension for his role in a brawl with the Cincinnati Reds in his last start. The 30-year-old tossed five scoreless innings against St. Louis in his first start but was reached for three runs on five hits - two home runs - by the Reds. Sanchez is switching spots in the rotation with ace Max Scherzer, who is being pushed back a day after taking a come backer off his leg against the Mets on Sunday. Sanchez yielded a pair of home runs in 5 2/3 innings at Philadelphia on Monday and is looking for his first quality start after surrendering a total of seven runs and 11 hits across 9 2/3 innings in his first two outings. The 35-year-old Venezuelan was sharper in his lone start against Pittsburgh last season, allowing one earned run in 5 1/3 innings without factoring in the decision. |
04-13-19 | Rays -183 v. Blue Jays | 1-3 | Loss | -183 | 5 h 1 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units After a season debut against Houston where he wasn’t sharp, the Cy Young winner Blake Snell has bounced back strong, allowing one run in his next 13 innings with an incredible 24 strikeouts vs. just one walk, winning both. He saw Toronto three times last year, posting similar numbers. He had a 0.54 ERA in 16.2 innings with 27 strikeouts. Clay Buchholz makes the start for Toronto. Buchholz had a surprisingly great 2018, but he signed late in spring training and is still coming back from elbow issues. In his most recent Triple-A rehab start, he served up four home runs. |
04-13-19 | White Sox v. Yankees -162 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 2 h 16 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Nova got off to a strong start in his Chicago debut, holding the Cleveland Indians to one run over seven innings in a no-decision on April 1, but was not as sharp last time out. The Dominican Republic native was ripped for seven runs on as many hits in 2 1/3 innings to suffer a loss against Seattle on Sunday. New York starter, Sabathia is making his first start of his final season after announcing his retirement and going through a heart procedure over the winter. The 38-year-old, who also battled a knee injury during spring training, is the active major league leader in wins (246) and strikeouts (2,986), and his 3.65 ERA last season was his best mark since 2012. |
04-12-19 | Astros -138 v. Mariners | 10-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 32 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Mariners return home after a 6-1 road trip, but they needed ten innings to win 7-6 at Kansas City just last night. The Astros have had a night off after sweeping the Yankees in a three-game set. Houston has now won six straight games and I believe it’ll keep the good times rolling in this favorable spot as well. The Mariners hand the ball to Wade LeBlanc (2-0, 4.76 ERA), who is 1-1 with a ballooned 5.65 ERA in ten career appearances vs. the Astros. Houston goes with Wade Miley (1-1, 2.31), who is 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA in three career starts vs. his former team. |
04-12-19 | Indians -150 v. Royals | 1-8 | Loss | -150 | 9 h 29 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Cleveland is averaging 3.6 runs, ranks among the bottom three American League teams in runs scored (43) and has tallied more than four runs only three times in 12 contests so far, yet the back-to-back-to-back AL Central champions have won six of seven in large part because they have yet to allow more than two runs in any of the victories over that stretch. Shane Bieber and two relievers turned in the latest dominant effort by the Indians in Thursday's 4-0 win in Detroit, holding the Tigers to three singles and a walk. The Royals continued along their worst 12-game start since 2006 following a 7-6, 10-inning loss to Seattle on Thursday, losing for the 10th straight time after giving up a game-tying two-run triple with two outs and two strikes in the ninth inning. |
04-12-19 | A's -108 v. Rangers | 8-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 41 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units After a nice start, the Rangers have come back to Earth and the A’s are about to pile on. They have now dropped four of the last five games while scoring just 13 runs in those five games. While they do tend to hit better at home, Mike Fiers has shown us in recent years that he has their number. Fiers faced Texas three times last season, holding them to three runs in 18.1 innings with 19 strikeouts vs. just two walks. Drew Smyly is back in the majors after struggling with injuries and it hasn’t really gone well so far. Texas has lost both of his starts while he hasn’t pitched more than 3.1 innings in either. The length would be bad enough, but he hasn’t been effective either with a 7.11 ERA and 2.37 WHIP in his 6.1 innings. Oakland has hit this year on the road, averaging 6.0 runs per game with a .455 slugging percentage. |
04-12-19 | Rays -135 v. Blue Jays | 11-7 | Win | 100 | 9 h 36 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Tampa starter, Stanek opens the game for the third time this season after allowing one hit and registering five strikeouts over three scoreless innings in the first two. The 27-year-old native of Kansas had not given up a run in six frames this season before surrendering one on two hits and a walk without retiring a batter Tuesday in Chicago. Rowdy Tellez is 1-for-2 with a homer versus Stanek, who permitted two runs and six hits over 10 innings (six starts) against Toronto last year. Thornton, the young rookie, has made a great impression as his first two starts have gone very well. However, he faced the Tigers and Indians. Along with the Blue Jays, Detroit and Cleveland are the only other two teams in the league that are being held under .200 at the plate so far this season. Today Thornton is finally going to be challenged as he now faces a lineup that has been swinging the bats much better. The Rays are 10-2 their last 12 games and scored an average of 8 runs per game in sweeping the White Sox at Chicago to begin this week while the Jays are 2-8 L10. |
04-11-19 | Mariners -128 v. Royals | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 3 h 19 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Seattle starter, Leake gave up two runs in each of his first two outings as he struck out 13 against two walks in 12 1/3 innings. The 31-year-old allowed two solo homers while giving up nine hits in 6 1/3 innings while beating the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. Kansas City starter, Lopez received a no-decision Saturday when he gave up two runs (one earned) and five hits over six innings against the Detroit Tigers. The 26-year-old is making his third start this season and 12th of his career. Lopez is 3-7 with a 4.93 ERA in 22 big league appearances with the Royals and Milwaukee Brewers. |
04-11-19 | Indians -126 v. Tigers | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 3 h 56 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units An 11-game winner in 2018, Bieber made his season debut in relief and tossed two innings of one-run ball before turning in a strong effort in his first start, striking out nine and giving up two runs and two hits over six innings in a no-decision versus Toronto. The 23-year-old blanked Detroit on four hits over seven innings last June. No player on Detroit's current roster has an extra-base hit off Bieber. Detroit starter, Turnbull, elevated to the starting rotation after Michael Fulmer injured his elbow in spring training, was saddled with the loss in his season opener after giving up three runs and four hits over five innings at Toronto. |
04-11-19 | Marlins v. Reds -154 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 2 h 4 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Florida starter, Lopez surrendered a pair of homers and four hits during a four-run, 36-pitch fourth inning in a 4-0 setback at Atlanta on Friday. Lopez recorded just six swinging strikes among the 52 he posted on 89 pitches against the Braves. Cincinnati starter, Gray answered a difficult season-opening start with a strong one, but sustained his second straight loss nonetheless. After allowing three runs on five hits with four walks in 2 2/3 innings versus Pittsburgh on March 31, the 29-year-old retired 16 consecutive batters and permitted just one run on three hits with seven strikeouts in Friday's 2-0 setback to the Pirates. Gray has handcuffed the current crop of Marlins, who have batted just 2-for-19 with six strikeouts against him. |
04-10-19 | Twins v. Mets -180 | 6-9 | Win | 100 | 8 h 18 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Minnesota starter, Odorizzi has been at opposite ends of the spectrum in his first two starts, tossing a masterpiece in his season debut and failing to get out of the first inning in his last outing. The 29-year-old had to settle for a no-decision against Cleveland in his first start despite striking out 11 in six innings and giving up only one hit -- a solo home run. Odirizzi, who faced the Mets only once, lasted two-thirds of an inning at Philadelphia and was tagged for five runs (four earned). New York starter, Syndergaard could not protect an early three-run lead in his season debut and wound up with a no-decision at Washington after yielding four runs and seven hits while striking out seven over six innings. He was much better in the rematch against the Nationals at Citi Field five days later but was a hard-luck loser after permitting two runs on only one hit over six frames. Syndergaard has never faced the Twins but he was brilliant at home in 2018 with an 8-1 record and 2.87 ERA in 13 starts. |
04-10-19 | Nationals v. Phillies -153 | 15-1 | Loss | -153 | 8 h 59 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Philadelphia turns to Nick Pivetta (1-0, 6.52 ERA) on the hill, who has given up 17 hits and eight runs over 9 2/3’s innings thus far. Washington goes with Jeremy Hellickson (0-0, 9.00) who makes his first start of the season. The 32 year old gave up two runs over two innings in one game out of the bullpen vs. the Phillies on April 2nd. Before last night’s win, the Nationals’ bullpen had posted a 10.17 ERA, the worst in the entire league. |
04-10-19 | Indians -126 v. Tigers | 1-4 | Loss | -126 | 2 h 28 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Cleveland starter Bauer held opposing batters to a .208 average last season and his strong start has lowered that mark to .024 through his first two outings. The 28-year-old has struck out 17 and walked seven and owns a stellar 0.57 WHIP. Bauer is 8-5 in 16 career appearances (15 starts) against the Tigers. Detroit starter, Boyd has struck out a whopping 23 batters over 11 1/3 innings while allowing just four earned runs. The 28-year-old struck out a career-best 13 in 6 1/3 innings against the New York Yankees in his last turn but received a no-decision despite giving up just one run and five hits across 6 1/3 innings. Boyd is 1-3 with a 3.09 ERA in eight career appearances (seven starts) against the Indians. |
04-09-19 | Braves v. Rockies -125 | 7-1 | Loss | -125 | 7 h 55 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Colorado starter, German Marquez, has been brilliant in his two starts this season. Against Miami, he gave up just one run over six innings. And then, in his second start, he surrendered just 3 hits and 0 runs over seven innings at Tampa Bay. Colorado won both of those starts, and this will be Marquez' first game at home this season. Colorado is 17-6 as a home favorite behind Marquez, while Atlanta is a poor 7-14 when the Over/Under is 10+ runs. |
04-09-19 | Mariners -109 v. Royals | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 23 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Mariners have started the season winning 10 of their first 12 games, Seattle will send left-hander Marco Gonzales to the mound. Gonzales (3-0, 3.20 ERA) does not have great ERA through his three career starts against KC, but his last outing against them was a one-run complete-game victory on June 29. Kansas City starter, Jakob Junis has good numbers against Seattle (2-0 with a 0.60 ERA in two career starts), not many are shutting down Seattle right now. In addition, the Royals bullpen is among the worst in the MLB so far this season with a 2-7 record and an 8.89 ERA. |
04-09-19 | Yankees v. Astros -187 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 6 h 29 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units New York starter, Loaisiga yielded only one hit over four frames in a spot start Wednesday but ran into trouble by walking the bases loaded and allowing his only run in his final inning of work, leading to a no-decision against Detroit. The 24-year-old Nicaraguan made nine appearances in 2018, going 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA in his four starts. Considered the organization's top pitching prospect after going 15-4 with a 2.63 ERA in 43 minor-league turns, Loaisiga is set to face Houston for the first time in his career. Houston starter, Cole opened the season by striking out 19 in consecutive quality starts, but he was doomed by a lack of run support again Wednesday after permitting three runs in six frames during a 4-0 loss at Texas. The two-time All-Star was charged with four runs over six innings in his first outing, but only one was earned in a 10-strikeout performance in Tampa Bay. DJ LeMahieu (2-for-15) has not fared well against Cole, who won his only start against the Yankees back in 2014. |
04-09-19 | Dodgers -123 v. Cardinals | 0-4 | Loss | -123 | 6 h 57 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units LA Starter, Stripling settled for a no-decision after allowing three earned runs and six hits over 6 1/3 innings against San Francisco on Wednesday. An All-Star last season, the 29-year-old Texan has struck out eight batters while walking two over 11 2/3 frames in his first two starts. After struggling in his first start against Milwaukee on March 30, Hudson moved to the bullpen and recorded his first career save against Pittsburgh on Wednesday. The 24-year-old Tennessean will be making his first career start against the Los Angeles Dodgers. |
04-08-19 | Braves v. Rockies -121 | 8-6 | Loss | -121 | 11 h 56 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Atlanta starter, Teheran gave the Braves a chance to win in his first two starts of the year but lasted just five innings in each of them as his pitch count rose thanks to a total of five walks. The 28-year-old Colombian gave up three runs and four hits in a loss at Philadelphia on Opening Day and limited the Chicago Cubs to one run and six hits without factoring in the decision on Wednesday. Teheran, who has registered 14 strikeouts in the early going, is 5-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 10 career starts against the Rockies. Colorado starter, Freeland, who was fourth in last year’s National League Cy Young Award voting, won his season debut by holding Miami to one run and two hits over seven frames. Freeland was 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts against Atlanta last year. |
04-08-19 | Yankees v. Astros -145 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 32 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units New York starter, Tanaka allowed just one earned run and did not walk a batter in his second straight start, but the 30-year-old Japanese star departed with a no-decision despite striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings against Detroit on Tuesday. Tanaka also left without a decision in his lone outing versus Houston last year despite registering a quality start. Carlos Correa (3-for-15, two homers, five RBIs) and George Springer (4-for-12, two homers, three RBIs) have enjoyed success against Tanaka. Signed to a two-year contract extension worth $66 million, Verlander answered a strong Opening Day start by surrendering four runs on six hits in four innings of a no-decision at Texas on Tuesday. The 2011 American League MVP and Cy Young Award recipient will look to get back on track versus New York, against which he is 7-7 with a 3.49 ERA in 20 career starts. Aaron Judge is 0-for-6 with three strikeouts versus Verlander while Sanchez is 1-for-6 with two strikeouts. |
04-08-19 | Pirates +118 v. Cubs | 0-10 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 33 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Bucs are coming off a four-game sweep of the Cincinnati Reds and will hand the ball to right-hander Jameson Taillon (0-1, 3.46 ERA) who is 4-3 with a 3.88 ERA in eight career starts against the Cubs. He's had good success at Wrigley Field where he owns a 2.50 ERA in three outings. The Pirates are 10-4 in Taillon's last 14 road starts. The Cubs hand the ball to left-hander Jon Lester (1-0, 3.00 ERA) who has held opponents to two runs in six innings in both starts this season, but note that the Cubs' bullpen ranks dead last in the major leagues with a 7.51 ERA on the season. |
04-07-19 | Nationals -125 v. Mets | 12-9 | Win | 100 | 3 h 53 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Scherzer was dominant in a losing effort against Jacob deGrom in the opener, going 7 2/3 innings and striking out 12 while permitting two runs and as many hits. Wheeler, who faced high expectations coming off his 12-win campaign in 2018, struggled in his season debut versus Washington and fell into an early hole by serving up a three-run homer during a five-inning stint. The former first-round pick was 2-1 with a 3.05 ERA in three starts against the Nationals last season but was a pedestrian 5-5 at Citi Field as opposed to 7-2 away from home. Adam Eaton is 8-for-13 against Wheeler while Rendon (10-for-28) also has been a nemesis. |
04-07-19 | Royals v. Tigers -101 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 3 h 36 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Detroit Tigers have turned things around after an inauspicious start to the season that saw the club score in just one of their first 34 innings. The Tigers will look to extend their winning streak to five and send reeling Kansas City to its sixth straight defeat when they go for a three-game sweep of the visiting Royals. Detroit starter, Ross, turned in a strong effort against Kansas City as a member of St. Louis last season, earning the win by permitting two runs and four hits over six innings. |
