Taking the BREWERS here. Look. I like the Reds. I really thought they would be contenders this year. But the offense is so weak. Votto and Phillips are out. Bruce hasn't had any power. Now they face the Brewers, who have one of the better offenses in the league. Reds just were swept by the Yankees. They face the Brew Crew who they have beaten 6 of the last 8. Brewers in a tail spin dropping 13 of 16. I will lay it the small fave who should be able to muster enough runs for the win here. 4* Money-Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERS

Taking the PIRATES here. You know that I love fading the Sunday night winner. Especially a road team who has to travel to another city. Let's add in that Volquez is sporting a .82 ERA his last 3 starts. Ryu has a 5.28 his last 3 outings. Granted, he was shelled in one of start giving up 7 in 2 innings. Regardless of that, I still feel this is a solid play on the home team vs a team in a let-down spot. 5* Best Bet PITTSBURGH PIRATES

Taking the MARINERS here. This team looks for real. The pitching is there. Don't sell this guy short behind Felix. Iwakuma has a 1.25 his last 3 starts. Career vs LAA he sports a 5-0 record and 1.49 ERA. Seattle 6-0 last 6 with Iwakuma facing the Angels. LAA is 11-2 last 13 at home with Weaver starting. But I will grab the M's at this price with their own solid pitcher. Seattle has won 7 of the last 10 in the series. Also, the Mariners have beaten Weaver 5 of the last 7 time they have faced him. 4* Money Maker SEATTLE MARINERS

Chen not so much vs the Tigers going 6-9 5.52 ERA. Chen had a 7+ ERA before hitting the DL and has been used in relief since. Taking the RAYS here. Ok, we had the Tigers yesterday so we are flipping sides here. Like I said though, the Rays have been just as hot as Detroit. As much as Price looks good, Porcello has been off the charts. Back to back shutouts? Come on. Not happening. I have to fade this guy just on the law of averages. Price has 63Ks (153 total) in his last 46 innings. Porcello has 62, on the year. I like guys who miss bats. Against the Tigers, the Price looks right as David is 4-1 2.23 ERA in 7 appearances. 8* Sure Shot TAMPA BAY RAYS

Taking the DODGERS here. Have to fade away on the Rockies. I mean, these guys have dropped 5 straight, 9 of 10 and 14 of 16. Yes they are 2-14 last 16 games. So, I will bite on this small line here. LAD is 8-3 their last 11. Granted, it is Dan Haren on the hill this afternoon. He does have 4.19 ERA on the road, and teams are hitting .284 against him. Which in Colorado, could result in some runs. But at this price, I have to go with the better team. It isn't like LAD hasn't had success vs DeLaRosa. They are 12-3 last 15 games facing him. 5-2 here in Colorado. DeLaRosa is 3-10 6.26 ERA career vs LA. In a battle of mediocre starters, I'm going with the hot team and fading the guy who has brutal numbers. 4* Money Maker LA DODGERS

Taking the TIGERS here. Nearly went all in 10* Money-Bomb here. Not sure why this line came down like it did. I know Tampa has won 7 of 8, but Detroit isn't in a slump winning 12 of 15. I like the way Sanchez has been throwing. Guy has a .92 WHIP his last 9 starts. We all know that the Rays have problems scoring. Sanchez is just 5-2 in 14 starts. He should really be 14-0 when you have a 2.63 ERA, .197 BA Against and a .98 WHIP. Alright, maybe not 14-0, but you see this guy has been dealing all season. I like Archer and I think the Rays are a good team. But I have to give the edge to Detroit here with Sanchez on the hill. Rays 2-5 in Archer's last 7 starts. Hughes went 8 innings, 3 hits 2 earned 6Ks for the win last time he faced NYY. You know he has something to prove after the way he pitched last year. Taking the MARINERS here. Man. This guys are rolling lately. How can you not take them here as a small road fave? Sweeping is hard. Sweeping on the road is harder. No way they sweep right? Well the M's are 20-8 last 28 on the road. They are 9-2 last 11 overall and have won 3 straight. Astros have dropped 7 of their last 10. And let's be honest. Even with this young guys Houston is bringing up, they are still a year or two away from being really good. M's think they have a shot that is why they spent 200 million on Cano. Mariners have won 6 of the last 8 in this series when both clubs were bad. Can't even forget how well Young is pitching. He has a 2.68 ERA his last 7 starts, a 1.00 ERA his last 3. He misses bats (111Ks 103+INN) and his WHIP isn't terrible (1.23). Leake doesn't have bad numbers either. But unlike Kennedy, he is more of pitch to contact guy. Taking the RAYS here. We cashed with these guys last night as our Top 10* GOW and will come right back here on Tuesday. Like I said yesterday. I don't think NYY is a good team. We get another edge on the hill tonight with Price. The guy has some crazy K ratio this year. He is dealing. Yes the offense doesn't provide much help. But I am not high on Kurode. I thought he feel apart down the stretch last year, and as the calender turns to July, and the heat and humidity climb, I think the old guy falters again. Rays 8-3 last 11 in the series. Rays are 4-0 in Price's last 4 starts in the Bronx. Yanks 3-8 in Kurode's last 11 home starts as an underdog. They are 3-13 last 16 as home dog overall. This is the 'new' Yanks. He is winless his last 9 starts with an ERA of 5.49. For Texas, Saunders isn't much better. I mean, the Rangers are reeling dropping 9 of their last 11. But the O's not much better with Jimenez on the hill going 2-7 last 9 overall, 1-7 at home and for whatever it's worth 3-12 on grass. Rays 10-21 last 31 overall. They are 3-12 last 15 on the road. They are 2-9 last 11 facing lefties. They get a tough, under rated this afternoon in Chen. The guy keeps his team in it. His numbers aren't flashy, but he gets us the wins. This is a great price. Baltimore bats shouldn't have a problem with retread Bedard. This guy is done after 5+ innings. His road splits lead me to believe we should have a good day at the dish. A .297 BA Against and a 1.57 WHIP. Taking the REDS here. Not many times you can get the early Cy Young favorite as a dog. Look, Cueto is pitching excellent. No offense to Bumgarner here. He is having a nice year also. But the fact remains that SF is in a bit of tail-spin of late dropping 12 of their last 16. Cincy has won 7 of their last 10 and 10 of their last 13 on the road. Reds are 6-0 last 6 here in SF and 8-3 last 11 in the series. I won't really get into Cueto's numbers. Just know they are all at or near the top in all the key categories. What sticks out more for me on Bumgarner are his home splits. 3-3 4.57 ERA in 7 starts. A .286 BA Against and a 1.48 WHIP. He has pitched MUCH better on the road. Taking the PADRES here. Uh. Taking this crap team. I know, I know. They were no-hit last time out. I always play on teams that just get humiliated. This line has dropped a bit, I saw 140 at open. That worries me a little otherwise I would have probably upped our units here. Ross is the better pitcher hands down, he just doesn't get any run support. DBacks have won 4 of the last 5 times McCarthy is on the hill vs SD. But, when I see that Arizona is 5-23 his last 28 starts, I feel good about things. He has a 5+ ERA and teams are hitting him for nearly .300. Padres couldn't have asked for a better guy to face coming off being no-hit. Taking the TIGERS here. Now, we have made some nice coin by fading Verlander this season. But I will lay it with him on the road tonight. He is off a very nice start. And though 1 start doesn't make mean he is back, this is still a top guy when facing someone like Peacock who started the year in the bullpen. Peacock hasn't been sharp in his home starts. I will take the former Cy Young winner with a team playing extremely well lately behind him. Tigers have reeled off 7 straight. Houston has dropped 8 of their last 10. Taking the MARINERS here. Seattle playing well winners of 5 straight and 8 of 10. Iwakuma is quietly one of the better pitchers in the league. The guy has been dominate at home .95 WHIP. I don't like Buchholz. I like him even less coming off the DL. A 7.02 ERA on the year, .339 BA Against and a 1.98 WHIP. I don't care about his Triple A starts. Taking the NATIONALS here. Will grab Strasburgh and the short number on the road. Can't have any faith backing Estrada who has been shelled lately. He has given up 7-5-6 runs in his last 3 starts. The two before that, 3-4 runs. So even when he is pitching 'well' he is giving up hits and letting runs score. Strasburg has been better at home than on the road. No mistaking the numbers there. But I will gladly take him giving up 3 runs as his 'bad' days, where Estrada doubles that number when off the mark. After a 16 inning affair, I have a lot more confidence is Strasburg going 7-8 innings than I do Estrada. Nats have won 4 straight. Washington 6-1 last 7 in the series. But, as I have said in the past, this team is talented. They started out terrible. Miley has nothing positive I can really point too. Masterson on the road has been pretty bad. A 6.20 ERA in 8 starts. A 1.60 WHIP, .276 BA against. We know ARZ can hit. DBacks are 14-4 last 18 in interleague. 4* Money Maker ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

Cincy also 8-2 last 10 on the road. Now, Arrieta has been lights out, to the tune of .45 ERA his last 3 starts, and a sub 2 ERA on the year. That being said, I just have to go with the better team right now and expect Arrieta to start pitching to the back of his baseball card. 5* Best Bet CINCINNATI REDS

Taking the REDS here. Will fade Sammy and the Cubs here. Chicago 3-13 in his last 16 home starts. As good as Samardzija's number are, he just doesn't win. Simon the other hand has been. The Reds are 7-1 his last 8 on the road. Cubs have lost Samardzija's last 4 starts vs Cincy. Reds have own 7 of 10 and look to be getting their house in order. Simon has been terrific on the road posting a 7-1 record in 8 starts coupled with a 2.66 ERA. He will need to be because I can't take anything away from Sammy and his dominate home numbers. Taking the RANGERS here. Normally, I am not taking teams on 4 game slides. But getting a guy like Darvish, laying a short number like this, I will make the investment. He is one of the top arms in the game. He has some profitable numbers vs LAA. 7-1 3.82 ERA career vs the Halos. Rangers have won Yu's last 5 starts vs the Angels. Texas is 14-5 last 19 in the series. Texas has also won 13 of Darvish's last 16 starts. His numbers are great. ERA, WHIP, BA Against. All excellent. Shoemaker is off his best performance. Even when he was at his best, his career numbers vs the Tribe aren't dominate (18-15 4.37 ERA). So when we get a small number like this, the way he has been pitching, 19 earned in 18+ innings (28 hits) we will continue to ride those trends. Indians with the best home record in MLB. Bauer has been solid at home posting a 2.92 ERA in 4 starts (24 innings). I do like this youngster. Tigers 1-5 in Verlander's last 6 starts. 5* Best Bet CLEVELAND INDIANS

Taking the BREWERS here. I will grab Peralta at this price on the road. He has solid road numbers, posting a 2.76 ERA in 7 starts (4-2). He has a 2.98 ERA on the year so we know that he has been solid for the season. Rockies are tossing out this kid Friedrich, who last pitched in the majors July of 2012. Part of the reason for that is most likely due to the fact he is 1-8 with a 7.89 ERA in 13 starts. When batters hit you for a .324 average, including a 1.72 WHIP, you aren't putting yourself in a position to win many games. Brewers have won 7 of 10 and control the NL Central. They have won 6 of their last 7 on the road. Rockies season slipping away, 3-9 last 12 at home. Will grab the road team here with a decent number. 8* Sure Shot MILWAUKEE BREWERS

Taking the PHILLIES here. Lost last night on SD, but will come back on the home team tonight with Hamels on the mound. Phills 6-0 L6 with Hamels on the hill facing the Pods. Padres 1-4 last 5 in Philly. Ross, after a nice start has cooled to the tune of 5.51 ERA his last 3 starts. He has been hit a little harder on the road. In 4 starts, he has a 4.41 ERA, a .298 BA against and WHIP of 1.62. SD slumping as they have dropped 6 of their last 8. Hamels is 8-2 with a 2.39 ERA in 14 career starts vs San Diego. He has pitched well (2.08 ERA L3). Phills with some negative trends with Hamels on the hill and I can't hide from them. But at this price, we will grab the small home faves. 4* Money-Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

Taking the YANKEES. As I am loading this play, there are no lines out for this game with NYY pitching change. They will probably be a dog with Nuno on the hill. Now, I like fading teams coming from the East to the West. Seattle is a long flight from Tampa. Even with it being a day game, that is a long road trip and ride to recover from. NYY had the day off. I do like Iwakuma. The guy has been above average since arriving. But I think the value is with the Yanks. Nuno, although brutal at home, has been very good on the road. It is tough going against teams on win streak like Seattle. They have won 8 of 9. But sometimes I have to go against the grain. This is a tough scheduling spot for the M's. 4* Money Maker NY YANKEES

Taking the BREWERS here. Mets are terrible. Really. Dice-K! That is who is pitching tonight? The guy hasn't been a decent starter in years. Brewers in first place, winners of 6 of their last 10. Mets have dropped 6 straight and are home off a long road trip. Estrada isn't terrible. He leads the league in HRs allowed, but that shouldn't be a problem playing in the Grand Canyon of stadiums. Brewers 10-2 last 12 here in New York. 4* Money-Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERS

Taking the CARDS here. Will grab Wainwright. This is a straight Wainwright play. Guy is awesome. He has basically give up half his total runs in 2 games (13 of 24). On the road he boasts a 1.68 ERA to go with a .188 BA against and .92 WHIP. Now he faces a Tampa team that is reeling to score runs. They have a witch-doctor come in to make it rain yesterday! That isn't going to help here. Tampa has lost 9 of 10 and 3 straight. Cards nearly pulled off a sweep of the Jays yesterday. 4* Money-Maker STL CARDINALS

Taking SAN DIEGO here. I can't back Burnett. The guy has been brutal. He started off great, then reality set in. 1-4 with a 7.25 ERA his last 6 starts. He gives up a hit an inning, plus walks a guy every other. Plenty of opportunities to score off of him. Kennedy is throwing. 3-0 in his L3 starts 18 innings and 22Ks. He is sporting a 2.61 ERA on the road in 5 starts (3-1) with a nice 1.06 WHIP and a BA against of .223. Philly has dropped 8 of their last 9. 4* Money-Maker SAN DIEGO PADRES

Will take LAD here. Will gladly grab the Dodgers at this short price. I had Cincy last night, but will flip the script here and go with the team with the best road record in MLB. And how can you not back Beckett. The kid is reborn this year. He has pitched well all year and the numbers back it up. They might not be in 1st, but this is a talent group. Cincy has some offense problems in my eyes. Plus I am not loving the way Leake has pitched of late. 4* Money-Maker LA DODGERS
