07-07-16 | Mariners v. Royals -125 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 22 h 38 m | Show
Taking the ROYALS here. Fading away here on James Paxton. And with good reason. A 5.19 road ERA with a .359 BA against and a WHIP of nearly 2. Mariners 3-14 last 17 road games (not counting last night) 2-6 Paxton's last 8 starts and 3-9 his last 12 on the road. Enter Danny Duffy. KC is 7-3 his last 10 starts and 24-9 his last 33 at home. He is off b2b gems of 8 innings, 8 Ks. I nearly went RL +160 here but there is value at this price with this home team. 4* Money Maker KC ROYALS |

07-05-16 | Rangers +177 v. Red Sox | 7-2 | Win | 177 | 18 h 13 m | Show
Taking the RANGERS here. The Price is always right when we fade David vs the Rangers. 5.78 career ERA vs the Rangers. Regular season, post season. Doesn't matter. Sometimes, a team just has a pitchers number. Price is 5-2 at home, but sports a 4.70 ERA in 9 starts. We had the Rangers 2 weeks ago when they bombed him in Texas getting wrecked for 6 earned in 2+ innings of work on 12 hits. 12! Griffin has picked up right where he left off before getting injured. Quietly putting together a solid, under the radar year. 2.93 ERA 8 starts, 42Ks in 43+ innings of work, .192 BA against and 1.09 WHIP 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS |

07-04-16 | Yankees v. White Sox +119 | 2-8 | Win | 119 | 14 h 5 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX here. I know that Shields had been absolutely destroyed since coming to the AL. But his last 2 starts have been decent. 1 run in 6.2 innings. 3 in 5 innings. Not good, but a huge improvement over giving up 32 in 12.1. So, we get the Yankees coming out of SD, late afternoon game. Playing another afternoon game. I just don't like this scheduling spot for them. CC has taken a turn for the worse his last 2 outings. 15 hits and 12 runs in 11+ innings. 5Ks 3 BBs. CC looks to be showing his age finally this year after a nice 2 month stretch. Give me the small home dogs against a team 6 games under .500 on the road. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

07-03-16 | Rockies +118 v. Dodgers | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 16 h 6 m | Show
Taking the ROCKIES here. I will grab Gray as a small dog here. He hasn't pitched bad the last month. 3.77 ERA is respectable enough. He has 34 Ks in 31 innings to go with a 1.00 WHIP and .204 BA against. You know how I feel about the Dodgers line-up. The way Gray has pitched, he can get us the win here. Especially as he faces Brandon McCarthy making his first start since TJ surgery. He didn't have an over powering rehab in 4 minor games. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES |

07-03-16 | Angels v. Red Sox -109 | 5-10 | Win | 100 | 14 h 41 m | Show
Taking the RED SOX here. You lose a game 21-2 giving up 22 hits, I will back you every time the next time out. Angels still 2-10 their last 12. I know Boston hasn't been tearing things up, but after getting a flat out can of whoop ass dropped on them Saturday, I have to take them at this price. 4* Money Maker BOSTON RED SOX |

07-02-16 | Yankees v. Padres -130 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 24 h 0 m | Show
Taking the PADRES here. I'll grab Pomeranz at this price. Guy is 7-7 but sports a 2.76 ERA, a .190 BA against and 101 Ks in 88 innings. Nova has a 6.98 road ERA and opposing hitters are raking .333 against him. He had a 7.52 ERA in 5 June starts. I know Petco is a 'pitchers' park, but Nova has been brutal. 4* Money Maker SAN DIEGO PADRES |

07-01-16 | White Sox +156 v. Astros | 0-5 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 37 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX here. I have to grab the dogs here. Sox have won 7 of 10 but looks bad compared to the 9 of 10 the Astros have run off. That being said. How can I not grab the money here against Fiers. He has pitched into the 7th just once his last 6 starts. He has made it to the 6th in through the 6th in 2 of those. I now Gonzalez has flip flopped bad starts. Like bad. 7 and 8 runs. But in between that, we got 6.2 of 1 run ball on 4 hits and 1 run ball on 6 innings on 3 hits prior. We take out 5 road runs he allowed in his first start and Gonzalez has given up 9 runs in 35 innings which isn't too shabby. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

07-01-16 | Cubs v. Mets +104 | 2-10 | Win | 104 | 7 h 56 m | Show
Taking the METS here. I had the Cubs last night. Thought we had a win and another sweep in our pockets before an error costs us and we can't push across a run with guys on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. It hurts, but we will do what we do. Bounce back with a Winner. Now, if we did cash that game, we would probably be laying the short number with the Cubs over the reeling Mets. But I think with deGrom on the hill, and a jolt of life in them after last nights big win, Mets make it 2 straight here. Hammel started out great. Guy is having a nice year. But deGrom has been a victim of zero run support. I think the Mets scrape enough offense here to get the guy a win, since he hasn't had won since April 30th. Cubs have dropped 4 straight Hammel starts and 4 of his last 5 on the road. Mets 19-9 L28 at home with deGrom on the hill. 4* Money Maker NY METS |

07-01-16 | Indians +126 v. Blue Jays | 2-1 | Win | 126 | 1 h 58 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS here. Look. I would have probably taken the Jays if they were a dog tonight. Plus, the line has moved up a bit since opening. Tough betting a team that hasn't lost in weeks as Cleveland has run off 13 straight wins. But being a small dog here, I'll bite. I mean, we have Stroman for the Jays who isn't anything like he was last year. He 5.33 ERA for the year is bad, but his last 5 in June, hello, 7.76. When hitters are roping you to the tune of a .364 average, you aren't helping the situation. I guess we can say Tomlin is struggling giving up 3 runs in back to back games. A 2.60 ERA in June shows me has been constant, and will keep us within striking distance. Tribe 10-1 in Tomlin's last 11 road starts. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |

06-30-16 | Cubs -130 v. Mets | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -130 | 20 h 40 m | Show |
Taking the CUBS here. Look. I like Matz. A lot. I was all over this kid after his first start of the year. I thought he had some great stuff and he ran off 7 straight wins. Since then though, buyer beware. 0-2 in his 4 June starts posting an ERA near 6 (5.91). They are talking surgery for bone spurs in his pitching elbow. Clearly something has bothered him lately. Now. I am no huge fan of John Lackey, especially coming off his worse outing of the year. But I like the Cubs here in payback mode from the playoffs. And we have the Mets in a free fall, getting swept by the Nationals, losing 4 straight and 6 of 10. Their offense is down right ugly with James Loney, Kelly Johnson and Alejandro De Aza, batting clean-up, 6th and lead-off yesterday. Yikes. 5* Best Bet CHICAGO CUBS |

06-30-16 | Indians -115 v. Blue Jays | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 19 h 28 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS here. Ugh. Not really a fan of taking a team laying, no matter how small on the road with a 12 game win streak. But the price is right for us with Carrasco. Guy has been a beast sporting a 1.95 ERA and .87 WHIP in 5 road starts. RA Dickey has been terrible at home going 0-5 and with a 5.36 in 7 games. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |
|||||||
06-29-16 | Twins v. White Sox -105 | 6-9 | Win | 100 | 12 h 4 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX here. Ugh.. James Shields. I think this could be the last time I back this guy. Twins 1-6 last 7 vs Chicago. Off a win last night and have Nolasco going here. Compared to his last 2 seasons in Minny, his numbers this year are great. If we are going to go on numbers and how bad Shields has been the last month, then we have to look at Nolasco's last years! Look. I think Shields wasn't terrible his last start in Boston 3 earned in 5. The 4 walks don't help us, and that concerns me. Maybe he's over-throwing feeling the pressure. I'm not a pitching coach. I do think the White Sox have a better team though. We aren't laying a big number at all. Basically, even money. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

06-28-16 | Mets v. Nationals -114 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 36 m | Show
Taking the NATS here. So I had the Mets last night. I was thinking up 4-0 we had a winner in the bag. Well the wheels, in my eyes, are falling off this Mets season. They have some serious injury question marks for a couple pitchers. Tonight's starter Harvey, well let's just say he went from team darling to team d---. We can fill in the blanks. But the fact is he has not been the same pitcher this season. He might have turned a corner this month with a 2.88 ERA in 4 starts, but I can't trust him or this lineup. I mean. How far has this team fallen that they are a small dog to a kid making his first start? Washington bats exploded last night, and I have to think that Dusty Baker will want to kick their division foes while they are down. 4* Money Money WASHINGTON NATIONALS |

06-28-16 | Rangers -105 v. Yankees | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 5 h 26 m | Show
Taking the RANGERS here. As I said in yesterday's write up. How can you back NYY? CC is having a great year, but I don't think that by any stretch of the imagination that he is was going to continue to pitch (.80 ERA or whatever) like his last 7 starts before getting beat up by the Rockies. Plus he rolled an ankle. I'm just not buying it. He has over achieved all year. The Yankee hitters are not scary to me at all. Especially with Hamels for us tonight. He has a tidy 1,82 June ERA. Rangers 13-3 L16 when Hamels faces a team with losing record and 22-5 his last 27 starts overall. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS |
|||||||
06-27-16 | Rangers +121 v. Yankees | 9-6 | Win | 121 | 21 h 2 m | Show
Taking the RANGERS here. I don't care who is pitching for the Rangers. Chi Chi Rodriguez? Chi Chi Gonzalez? Speedy Gonzalez? Ivan Rodriguez? Juan Gonzalez? Who the heck is Ivan Nova and the New York Yankees to be favored over the team tied (Giants 49) with the most wins in MLB? Nova has a 6.88 ERA his last 6 starts, 5.18 on the year with a BA against of .292. Texas will get some hits. Chi Chi believe it or not, even with a 3.90 ERA last year he had a respectable .202 BA against and a 1.21 WHIP. I live in NJ. For the last 20 years I have seen Yankee teams, and good teams that won World Series games and 90+ wins a season lose to guys getting call ups and spot starts. This bunch of Bronx 'Bombers' and I use that term not as powering HRs, but being a total dud, will probably be made to look like fools tonight. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS |

06-27-16 | Indians v. Braves +162 | 8-3 | Loss | -100 | 20 h 58 m | Show
Taking the BRAVES here. Look. Indians are very good. What, 9 straight. Just beat up on the Tigers and opened up a 5 game lead in the Central. I had the Indians at the beginning of the year winning their division, so I am not shocked. The pitching is young and solid and strikes guys out. But I can see a bit of a let down here. Their 'Jobu' shrine might need another shot of rum after this Braves game. Atlanta has quietly won 7 of 10. They aren't nearly as good as the Tribe by any stretch of the imagination. Bauer is off a CG and not sure if he will go very deep tonight. 4* Money Maker ATLANTA BRAVES |
|||||||
06-27-16 | Mets -104 v. Nationals | 4-11 | Loss | -104 | 20 h 13 m | Show
Taking the METS here. Look. This is all about Syndergaard. I think he is much better than Joe Ross. Nats had just lost 7 in row before salvaging a win yesterday vs the Brewers. The offense is in a bit of a sputter. When was the last time Harper had a huge week. Heck. A good few games in a row. He has struggled vs the Mets already this year. Maybe Daniel Murphy hurts his old team. But my money is on 'Thor' tonight. 4* Money Maker NY METS |

06-26-16 | Dodgers v. Pirates +248 | 3-4 | Win | 248 | 22 h 44 m | Show
Taking the PIRATES here. Yeah. I will go against Kershaw. I mean. He isn't that good right? He only leads MLB in ERA (1.57), innings pitched (115), Ks(141), WHIP (.67), strikeout-to-walk ratio ( 141-7)and shutouts. Oh. He hasn't lost in what, 11 starts. And finally, he is facing a rookie making his debut. On ESPN Sunday night baseball! What could possibly go wrong for Pittsburgh tonight? The stars are aligned for a Pirates win. The young righty has nice minor league career numbers and for the 2016 season. Let's be honest here. There is not a chance that I lay 260 or whatever on the road with anyone on the hill. Kershaw can go 8+, strikeout 10 and lose 1-0. I really don't trust the Dodgers lineup when laying this kind of number. Grab the home pups here. 4* Money Maker PITTSBURGH PIRATES |
|||||||
06-26-16 | Phillies +230 v. Giants | 7-8 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 53 m | Show
Taking PHILLY here. I know Nola has had a brutal go of it his last 3 outings. Hoping he hasn't hit a wall as he has reached or passed his numbers from last season. He had give up 7 road earned runs all year before 11 in his last 2 road starts. He still has a more than respectable 1.03 road WHIP and .203 road BA against. This price is too good to pass up even as great as Cueto has performed this year. For what it is worth, Cueto 1-4 5.05 career vs Phils. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES |
|||||||
06-26-16 | Twins +200 v. Yankees | 7-1 | Win | 200 | 15 h 1 m | Show
Taking the TWINS here. How the heck is Nathan Eovaldi laying this number? The guy has a 5 ERA on the year. He has a 9 ERA this month as he hasn't given up less than 4 runs in his starts in June. Opposing hitters are crushing him to the tune of a .356 BA Against. Add in a 1.90 WHIP and I have to think the Twins score here. I had the over here yesterday. You see my write up. Coming into that game the Minny had gone 17-1-1 over the last 19. In nearly half of those games they put up 6 or more runs so they are more than capable of scoring here. I can't say anything positive about Tyler Duffey. His stats are as bad or worse than Eovaldi's. But at this price, I have to take the dog. 4* Money Maker MINNESOTA TWINS |

06-25-16 | Nationals -137 v. Brewers | 5-6 | Loss | -137 | 7 h 31 m | Show
Taking the NATS here. I was thisclose to pulling the trigger on the Brewers last night and it is easy now to say I should have done it. Especially now as I am about to lay a couple bucks with a road fave mired in a 6 game losing streak. Gio has struggled the last month, but the guy has the stuff to end this streak. And honestly, how do you trust Matt Garza? Two limited inning (4,6 innings) starts off the DL? His numbers career wise vs Nats are terrible (7.17 ERA 8 starts). Nats 4-1 in Gonzalez's last 5 starts vs Brewers. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS |

06-25-16 | Indians -136 v. Tigers | 6-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 23 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS here. Remember when Anibal Sanchez was an ERA leader with a 2.57 spot back in 2013? 3.43, 4.99 now 5.97 in 2016. After 9 innings of 2 run ball out of the pen, the Tigers feel he has found himself I guess. .290 BA against, 1.60 WHIP makes me think the Tribe gets some easy runs here. Carrasco has a 2.70 road ERA paired with a .235 BA against and .99 WHIP. Not too shabby for a little road fave. Indians also riding a 7 game win streak. We know exactly what we are getting from Carrasco. Cleveland 5-0 last 5 here in Detroit and 11-1 last 12 overall vs Tigers. Sanchez is 1-4 his last 5 home starts vs Indians. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |

06-25-16 | Diamondbacks v. Rockies -121 | Top | 6-11 | Win | 100 | 6 h 15 m | Show |
Taking the ROCKIES here. Will fade away on Shelby Miller and his 9+ ERA here at Coors Field. Yeah. I must have a pretty big pair to unload on Jorge DeLaRosa and his 7+ ERA on the year. But the Rockies are 11-1 in DLR's last 12 home starts vs DBacks. He is 23-5 his last 28 home starts and 56-17 last 73. The guy wins at home for whatever reason and has owned Arizona here. 10* Money Bomb COLORADO ROCKIES |
|||||||
06-24-16 | Red Sox v. Rangers +164 | 8-7 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 23 m | Show
Taking the RANGERS here. Will grab Texas as they have won 8 of 10. These guys still sitting in first out in the AL West. The Price isn't right when David faces the Rangers. 4-8 5.27 ERA career (16 games) and that ERA balloons to 6.54 when in Texas. Rangers 8-3 last 11 in the series and 5-1 last 6 here at home vs Sox. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS |

06-24-16 | Padres v. Reds -115 | 13-4 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 46 m | Show
Taking the REDS here. So Reed is making his 2nd career start. Not too shaby in his first striking out 9 in 7 innings. He did give up 4 runs. Rea is off arguably his best start of the year giving up 2 runs in 6+ innings of work. But that isn't saying much since he has a a 5 ERA on the year. He has a 6.33 ERA and .290 BA against in his June starts. 4* Money Maker CINCINNATI REDS |
|||||||
06-24-16 | Indians -107 v. Tigers | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 38 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS here. Will grab Salazar at this price. The kid is having a great year and even better month of June. 4 earned in 20+ innings to go with 24 Ks. Barely a 1 WHIP and sub .200 BA against pitching in this park make it an easy call. Zimmerman is off a gem, but had been roughed up in 2 previous starts. His home splits are not impressive at all with a 4.43 ERA in 7 starts. Again, Salazar with a 2.84 road ERA, .194 BA against 1.34 WHIP. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |
|||||||
06-22-16 | Rays v. Indians -115 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 19 h 18 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS here. Now. Chris Archer is a strike out machine with 103 in 86 innings. But his road numbers are not good at all. 3-4 in 8 starts 6.75 ERA, .308 BA Against and 1.79 WHIP. He has a 4.12 ERA his last 3 starts and 4.56 here in his 4 June starts. Trevor Bauer on the other hand has been dealing of late. A 2.12 June ERA 28Ks 29 innings. Add in a .204 BA against and 1.01 WHIP and we have the edge here on the hill. Rays have lost 6 straight and 7 of their last 10. Indians sitting atop the AL Central on a 5 game win streak. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |

06-21-16 | White Sox +105 v. Red Sox | Top | 3-1 | Win | 105 | 7 h 40 m | Show |
Taking the WHITE SOX here. How can I not grab Sale at this price. I think he should probably be favored in the 130 range. He has been that good this year. The first 11 game winner. Only has a 1.01 WHIP to his name. Has been better on the road than at home stat wise. 5-1 2.09 ERA .212 BA against .99 WHIP with a SHO and 2 CGs to his name. Buchholz is back from the bullpen where he gave up 4 runs in 9.1 innings. That is what he is. A guy who looks good for 2 innings before giving up 4 runs in 2 different frames. Sox 12-3 in Sale's last 15 starts. Boston 3-8 in Clay's last 11. 10* Money Bomb CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

06-21-16 | Rockies +158 v. Yankees | 8-4 | Win | 158 | 7 h 43 m | Show
Taking the ROCKIES here. I will be totally honest here. I really want to grab a lot of dogs today. Padres, DBacks, Braves, KC, Tampa, Reds. the Angels.. But the way I have been losing games lately, I can't put out 9 games. The bankroll just couldn't handle a 1-8 night even betting dogs. That being said. I think this is our best value tonight on the dog front. The Yankees offense is one of the most miserable in baseball. I know the Rockies at least have some front line hitters who actually hit. Beltran is the only real threat for NY right now. Nova's ERA is over 6 his last 5 starts. Bettis isn't mowing down hitter in any stretch of the word. But he did ok vs the Yanks at home last week allowing 2 earned in 6 innings with 5 Ks. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES |

Taking the ROCKIES here. DeLaRosa has some ugly numbers on the year. But he seems to be finding a groove since coming out of the bullpen. His last start he went 5 innings giving up just 3 hits. In his previous 3 relief appearances, we see combined numbers of 13 innings, 11Ks 6 hits with a WHIP near 1 and BAA in the 120s. Paul Clemens of Miami is making his first MLB appearance since 2014 and just his 6th career start. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES |

Taking the MARINERS here. Not really a fan of taking slumping teams, but as I have already this season, I will fade Pelfrey. And why not, opposing hitters are slapping him at home to the tune of a .341 average. 9 HRs 46 hits in 32 innings. Karns hasn't been lighting the world on fire, but I think he is better than Pelfrey here. 4* Money Maker SEATTLE MARINERS |

Taking the ROCKIES here. Lost with a couple dogs yesterday (Mil,SD) and again will look to take back some dollars. Chatwood has an MLB best .65 road ERA working in his favor and is 5-0 in 6 starts there. A .168 BA against and .84 WHIP. As for Chen. I have backed him a couple times this year. I thought he would be good in the NL. He had very respectable ERAs pitching in Baltimore. But the long ball has dogged him since arriving in Miami. 15 in his 13 starts. He is sporting a 5.71 June ERA. I can't back a guy like that vs someone with Chatwood's road numbers. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES |

06-18-16 | Giants +132 v. Rays | 6-4 | Win | 132 | 3 h 35 m | Show
Taking the GIANTS here. I have to fade Matt Moore here. He is off his best start of the year. But that isn't saying much. He had a 5.56 ERA going into his last start and after going 7 scoreless, first time he's held a team scoreless, his ERA is now 5.05. Suarez is making just his 3rd start. Even if he goes 5 or 6 innings here, I will be comfortable with a rested SF bullpen that didn't see action last night, and has pitched 2 innings since Wednesday. 4* Money Maker SF GIANTS |

Taking the ROYALS here. I like this kid Duffy. Back in '14 I picked him up in fantasy. Kid was pretty solid. He has shown some good stuff. He just needs the role full time. He has improved his last 3 outings as he stretches his arm back out. I know we are going to get a solid 6+ from him. Plus. This line. Looks a bit suspect to me. I have faded Verlander a couple times and he has been anything but going 4-2 1.93 ERA last 7 starts. He also has dominated KC to the tune of a 20-8 record over his career. Taking the INDIANS here. You know I really don't like to lay a big number and we are getting close to my cut off point. But that being said, I like the value with Kluber here. We have yet to see him in his peak, but he has put together some more than solid outings of late. His 2 May starts have been dominate. His WHIP and BAA are better than most. Kennedy is trying to find the glory of 4 years ago. His last 2 starts have been disasters. As much as I am fading him here, I am also thinking that the KC lineup will have some trouble here who he has had success against. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |

06-14-16 | Yankees v. Rockies +101 | 10-13 | Win | 101 | 8 h 57 m | Show
Taking the ROCKIES here. This is really a bet for me on DeLaRosa. Colorado 55-17 in his home starts. That is winning a lot more than losing with him on the hill. Yanks are flirting with .500, but who really expects them to be in playoff contention? At least the Rockies embrace the losing and try to rebuild. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES |

06-14-16 | Indians -123 v. Royals | 2-3 | Loss | -123 | 7 h 28 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS here. Tomlin has beaten KC twice already this year and is now 8-4 career vs the Royals. Cleveland also has won 11 straight and 17 of his last 20 starts. Again, we get a guy on a team that just wins when he is on the hill. Young is nearly 40, with an ERA north of 6. The Indians belted him for 5 runs back on June 5th. Nothing has changed. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |

06-13-16 | Tigers v. White Sox +100 | 9-10 | Win | 100 | 7 h 25 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX here. I know Shields was pounded in his Sox debut. And his last 2 starts have been absolutely horrible. 4+ innings, 16 hits, 17 earned. I attribute that to knowing his time in SD was coming to an end, and overthrowing to show his new team that he hadn't lost anything. But, who the heck am I? Just some guy trying to find value betting bases. Shields is not the 'Big Game James' of years past. Not even sure what that means since he is 3-6 5.46 ERA in 11 post season starts. Regardless. He had an ERA of 3.06 before his last 2 starts. I think he regroups here as he is on a team that can hit. Has a decent pen. And he isn't the #1 or even the #2 so that takes some pressure off of him. Boyd is a youngster who I really don't have a feel on yet. I just think at this price, we play the veteran with something to prove. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

06-13-16 | Cubs v. Nationals -122 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 34 m | Show |
Taking the NATS here. One. Anytime I can get someone like Scherzer at this price, I am jumping on the train. I am not going to say he has been unhittable. He is sporting an ERA at over 3.50. But the BA against is a solid .212 and a WHIP of 1.05 isn't terrible. He is still missing bats, (107Ks 88inn). I also think that we get the advantage of a guy with something to prove tonight. Last time in Wrigley, (May 6) the Cubbies bombed him for 7 earned in 5 innings. I am not knocking Hendricks one bit. The guy has given up more than 2 runs just once his last 8 starts. The one that helps us though is his poor road numbers. 1-4 4.23 ERA. 10* Money Bomb WASHINGTON NATIONALS |

Taking the INDIANS here. I am still looking for a more consistent Kluber, but I really think it won't matter. I mean, if he gives up 6 we might have a problem, but that being said, the Angels are in some kind of downward spiral. They just got swept by the Yanks. Now they fly all the way back home to face a Cleveland team who just played up the coast. Just a bad spot all around here for them. Santiago has given up 19 runs in his last 15+ innings. I had LAA as a team under bet to start the year and they are more than living up to my limit opinion of them. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |

Taking the DBACKS here. I like Corbin. I think he is finally coming around healthy. This is a weird little team in Arizona. They have not played well. Marlins some how winning and Stanton has forgot that he is suppose to hit the ball. Nicolino though. Eh. Guy hasn't gotten through the 6 inning in what seems like ever (5 starts). Miami broke through to salvage a game vs the Twins yesterday but are just 2-4 their last 6. Marlins swept the series back in early May, and I think Arizona gets some revenge here tonight. 4* Money Maker ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS |

Taking the TIGERS here. As you already know, I have had Pelfrey on my fade train many a start this season. But I will gladly take him as dog tonight. He actually has been pretty good in 3 of his last 4 starts. 4 runs in 16 innings. His one bad outing, 11 hits, 4 runs, 6 innings vs Phils. Maybe he has turned the corner a bit. Regardless, I think the Tigers can hit CC. I was ready to push CC to the pen during spring training. But the guy has turned back the clock, and is arguably the Yanks best pitcher with Tanaka. A 2.58 ERA? Come on. He gave up 3 runs in every April start and has proceeded to give up exactly 3 runs in every start (5) since. I just think we have to see some regression here and at this price, I think its worth it. 4* Money Maker DETROIT TIGERS |

06-09-16 | Mets v. Brewers -107 | 5-2 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 20 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS here. I have lost with the Mets against the Pirates this week. But this isn't really fading them as much as fading Colon. I love the chubby guy. But come on. The fact is he barely goes 6 inning. And not for nothing, but the lack of hitting is a concern if yo are a Mets fan. Milwaukee trots out Jimmy Nelson. The kid is off his worse outing of the season. He had pitched good heading into that game. The Brewers are a bit hot of late and are within striking distance of .500 winning 10 of their last 15. Mets in a bit of a slump. 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERS |

Taking the WHITE SOX. Yeah, these guys are slumping. But I really like this spot for them. 11-0 nothing last night. Miguel Gonzalez is going to give us 6 innings tonight.Nothing fancy. Just a solid outing and what we need here. And I just find that teams getting bombed respond the day after. Nats are a very good. That isn't the argument I am making. I just see this line come down and have to take the home dog here. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

Taking the ROCKIES here. This is really all about the scheduling spot here. Pitt in a 9 game home stand, but has to come to Colorado for a rain game. Locke has pitched good lately, while Bettis has been less than stellar to say the least. (rained out from Monday) Taking the METS here. Lost with these guys yesterday. But, Harvey pitched like he I thought he would. Just couldn't muster any offense vs a very good pitcher. Niese has a nice 5-2 record, but isn't remotely close to Jose Fernandez. We have backed Matz often this year and has paid off dividends. This line is a little low, but I can't walk away from a guy with his numbers. He just finished May with a .76 WHIP (1.05 year). 4* Money Maker NY METS |

Taking the METS here in Game 2. Like taking Matz in Game 1, I have to grab the better starter on the hill. Even though deGrom hasn't been awesome like he was last year, they guy is still very good. Juan Nicasio is average at best, and the Mets should be able to muscle across some runs here. 4* Money Maker NY METS |

06-05-16 | White Sox +125 v. Tigers | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 55 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX here. Verlander has been pitching much better in his May starts. 2 SHOs and he has lowered his ERA to respectability. I think the White Sox have a nice shot in the arm getting James Shields. Guy is a solid innings eater and will help deepen the rotation. It shows they are 'all in' as they say in going for it. I would have liked a bat to help today, but I think they are heading in the right direction. As for our starter, can Quintana get some offensive help please. 4 straight losses for a guy who's ERA 'ballooned' to a robust 2.13 after a 2-4 2.61 ERA month of May. I like my dogs. I like betting on pitchers who give us a chance in their starts. Quintana is the epitome of what I look for. A 1.03 WHIP and .227 BA against shows he limits hitters. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

06-05-16 | Mets +158 v. Marlins | 0-1 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 47 m | Show
Taking the METS here. We had the Marlins yesterday and they couldn't hold on. Here. Look. I'll be honest. You have read my write-ups. I am as down on Harvey as anyone. And as much as I love Jose Fernandez, I can't lay that number with him. Especially vs a guy like Harvey who just showed you in his last start what he is capable of doing. I am not saying Harvey is 100% and will be dominate from here on out. But I do think he is more than likely to have a couple good starts in row which he had done earlier this year. 4* Money Maker NY METS |

Taking the ORIOLES here. So I just had the Marlins as a free play yesterday on the bases. But I thought long and hard about adding the Yanks. Figured Tigers were coming from the west coast, and it was a random make up game. But I couldn't pull the trigger on Pineda. He pitched OK and the bullpen actually made it close. That being said. We get the O's at a short price here at home. Could be a sucker play. Tillman is 7-1 2.92 ERA on the year and a .203 BA Against. Baltimore has won his last 4 home starts vs the Yanks. And the Orioles are 7-1 last 8 vs NY and a 22-8 run last 30 vs the Bombers here at home. Eovaldi has pitched good his last 3 starts. 2 runs in 18 innings on 9 hits with 17 Ks. My problem here is the anemic Yankee offense and the fact that their 'big 3', of Betances, Miller and Chapman all pitched last night. Maybe all of them get run out there again tonight. I'm just betting on the Baltimore lineup getting enough runs to eliminate that element all together. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES |

06-03-16 | Brewers +101 v. Phillies | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 10 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS here. Get to see a couple of the young up and comers on the hill tonight. It has been a bit of roller coaster with Velasquez from the Phillies this year. He has a couple great, great games. But I think the growing pains have been showing lately. As in, a 5+ ERA in May including 10 runs his last 2 road starts in 7 innings. His home splits are very good though. a .74 ERA and 3-1 record in 4 starts. That being said, he still has been up and down. Jimmy Nelson on the other hand. Well, he has had his rocky rookie starts. He a year under his belt. He has gone into the 8th in 3 of his last 4 starts. On the year, a 2.88 ERA. He hasn't been really abused by any lineup. Can't forget about the Brewers winning 7 of 10, while the Phils dropped 9 of 10 including 7 straight. Brewers 10-1 last 11 here in Philly. 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERS |

Taking the ORIOLES here. We will flip sides today as we did cash with the Red Sox last night. But that was a different match-up. Sox send recalled Eduardo Rodriguez to the hill today. He has shown some nice flashes last year. But he hasn't been dazzling in Triple A. Just some average numbers at best. I have backed Gausman a few times this year. He is someone I like to keep in my stable. He is 0-2 in 7 starts. He has a 3.24 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, not terrible by any stretch. Even a .239 BA against isn't really hurting him. My only concern is pitches. He only goes about 6 innings with up and down strike out numbers. What I do know is this. He will keep us in the game. And at this short price, it is a worthy investment. 4* Money Maker |

05-31-16 | Nationals v. Phillies +111 | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 47 m | Show
Taking the PHILLIES here. Will follow the line move here. Number has come down a bit. And let's be honest here, Aaron Nola has pitched pretty darn good this year. .200 BA Against .92 WHIP. He has faced the Nats twice. Lost a game where he gave up 7 in 5 innings striking out 6 and took a ND in a 2 hit gem, giving up no runs while K'ing 7 more hitters. Harper might be taking a night off which only helps the cause. I like Joe Ross, but he hasn't impressed as much as Nola. But I can't bash his numbers for being horrible. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES |

05-30-16 | Red Sox -105 v. Orioles | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 1 m | Show
Taking the RED SOX here. At this price, have to grab them with Wright on the hill. The knuckleballer is having a nice little year. 2.52 ERA, .208 BA against, 1.10 WHIP. Plus, good road splits. A 1.73 ERA in 5 starts, 21 hits in 36 inning for a .96 WHIP and a .172 BA against. Wilson hasn't been bad since moving from the bullpen. But I think we rate the edge based on lineups. Jones and Davis are under 240 on the year. Machado and Trumbo have been excellent. But the Sox have 6 regulars at over .295. 4* Money Maker BOSTON RED SOX |

05-30-16 | White Sox -117 v. Mets | 0-1 | Loss | -117 | 3 h 55 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX today. I guess the lines-makers are finally catching on to our fade Harvey train. He's a home dog here. Wow. Look. My opinion is that he is tired out. Off Tommy John surgery, everyone, me included, ridiculed him for his agent saying he wouldn't pitch in post season. I think he should have. You never know if you will back to the World Series. But I believe we are seeing the lingering effects of that. That being said, his numbers speak volumes. 6+ ERA, .330 BA Against (330!), 1.69 WHIP. He has a 7.56 ERA here in May. After his loss today, I wouldn't be shocked to see a 'DL' visit for him to get his head straight. I like Jose Quintana. A guy you can always back. Never laying a huge number. But keeps us in games. He is sporty a tidy 2.22 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. Not terribly dominating, 60Ks in 65 innings. I guess you can say he has been 'roughed up' his last 2 starts. Those are the first 2 games he has allowed more than 3 earned runs on the year. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

05-29-16 | Padres -102 v. Diamondbacks | 3-6 | Loss | -102 | 6 h 2 m | Show
Taking the PADRES here. Please raise your hand if you had Pomeranz pegged for a sub 2 ERA through 9 starts. A .164 BA Against and 1.04 WHIP. He might be 2-2 in his May starts. but .87 ERA and .84 WHIP let us know that San Diego has a shot to win. He also has solid road splits. 2.04 ERA .175 BAA 1.08 WHIP. He has allowed 1 earned run his last 20 innings on the road. Archie Bradley gets the call from Triple A where he has impressive numbers. But in his 2 starts in the bigs, a 7.84 ERA, 9 runs in 10+ innings. Plus, the walks. 7 of them, along with 14 hits translates into runs for the opposing hitters. (.326 BA against). 4* Money Maker SAN DIEGO PADRES |

Taking the RAYS here. Trying to figure out why a guy with a 5+ is favored over Tanaka who basically gives up 2 runs a game. Archer does sport a 2.25 ERA career wise 5-2 vs the Yanks which bodes well here since NY is 29th in all of MLB with their road batting stats. 4* Money Maker TB RAYS |

Taking the DODGERS here. Granted, I am the first to say I have had mixed results taking rookies making debuts this year. But this kid Urias from LA. Man, he does have some impressive so far at Triple A. 44ks in 41 innings. I mean. Look. His minor league numbers are off the chart. But to be honest, this line, begging you to take the Mets with deGrom. He is actually pitching to a 4.63 ERA in May. Also, his strikeouts are down. I am not saying he is in Harvey type area, but he also had an increased work load. Maybe he is still figuring things out, or has a sore/tired arm. Either way. deGrom's numbers the last 2 years, and the fact that NYM are a good team, a team that went to the World Series, and this price is this short. Well. that tells me something here. Will grab the rook. 4* Money Maker LA DODGERS |

05-26-16 | Cardinals +130 v. Nationals | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 43 m | Show
Taking the CARDINALS here. A pitcher of pitchers trendy in opposite directions. Leake has looked sharped this month, especially his last 3 starts giving up just 2 runs over 21 innings with a sub .200 BA Against and WHIP below 1. Can't complain about those numbers. Joe Ross started a perfect 3-0 with an impressive .79 ERA. The correction has come with 4 straight May losses and a 4.50 ERA this month. The strikeouts are there for him, but giving up more than a hit an inning is costing him. Let's grab the small dog here. 4* Money Maker STL CARDINALS |

05-25-16 | Marlins +177 v. Rays | 4-3 | Win | 177 | 8 h 23 m | Show
Taking the MARLINS here. Ok. I am probably lining up for a loss with this huge number. I know that Andriese came on fast. CG SHO, 1 run in his first 16 innings yada yada yada. But the Tigers got him for 4 runs on 5 hits in 5+ last game out. Not saying he is going down the tube. But we have seen young guys impressive in their first starts before. I think the Marlins have a decent lineup. These games have been 1 run affairs so far in this series. At this price, we have grab Miami. Nicolino is going to give up 6 innings and probably give up 3 runs. I think if he does that or better, we are capable of winning. 4* Money Maker MIAMI MARLINS |

05-25-16 | Padres +132 v. Giants | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 58 m | Show
Taking the PADRES here. Not a fan of taking teams on 3 game losing streaks. Especially against a team that has won 9 of 10. But There is no way in God's green Earth that I am laying with Peavy. I guess when a guy is 1-5 (9starts) with a 8.21 ERA and is favored the opposing team is brutal. Well, at least Shields will give a fighting chance. And on a side note real fast. Peavy hasn't been good since a 19 win season, in 2007! Those sub 3 ERAs are a long time ago. .343 BA against almost a 2 WHIP. This is a straight fade. Back to Shields. 2-6 with a pretty respectable 3.07 ERA. He is 2-2- in May with a 2.45 ERA. 4* Money Maker SAN DIEGO PADRES |

05-25-16 | Phillies +117 v. Tigers | 8-5 | Win | 117 | 3 h 42 m | Show
Taking the PHILLIES here. Have to say, a bit of tough call here for me. Part of me would like to back the Tigers. They have won 4 straight and 8 of 10. But Sanchez has been terrible. He has given up 4 or more runs in 6 of his last 7 starts. I know the Phillies have over achieved so far this young season. We cashed the Tigers as a Free Play to start this series. But I will lean Nola here. The kid has looked better and better every time I see him. The numbers don't lie. .90 WHIP .193 BA Against. He has a 2 ERA this month. 6 runs in 4 starts, 27KS in 27 innings. And just 20 hits allowed. Sanchez in 24 innings. 22 hits and 10 walks, 0-3 6.38 ERA this month. Give me some brotherly love here. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES |

Taking the METS here with Matz! Look. I said the last time I took Matz that his first start of the year was a fluke based on time off and spring training. He has super since. 42Ks in 40 innings his last 6 starts, all wins. Not really knocking Roark here. How can you with a guy with a 2.89 ERA. But at this short price, and Matz' numbers here in May. Mets off an ugly loss last night. I think we get a win here. 4* Money Maker NY METS |

05-24-16 | Brewers v. Braves -112 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -112 | 7 h 4 m | Show |
Taking the BRAVES here. Will grab Teheran in this spot. If he was on any other team, the guy would be a Cy Young contender. Instead, he toils on this rebuilding franchise. Teheran is posting a tidy .67 ERA here in May with a .82 WHIP and .176 BA against. For the year, 2.73 ERA .216 BAA 1.11 WHIP. The 1-4 record is more for the Braves lack of offense. The guy hasn't given up more than 2 runs since mid-April. Braves back home a long home stand with their ace on the hill, and a new manager calling the shots. That will be a nice little boost in the arm tonight. Enter the Brewers. I like Jimmy Nelson. I think he has the makings of a staff ace for Milwaukee. But I think in this spot, the way the Braves are hitting lately, edge to the home team. And let's be honest. With a 2-17 record at home, Atlanta has to start winning here sometime. Right. Right? 10* Money Bomb ATLANTA BRAVES |

Taking the INDIANS here. For me, this is a straight fade of Latos. Yes, you see 5-1 and think, he, guy is having a nice year. Well, he had a great first 4 starts to start the season. A .74 ERA in those 24 innings. But since then. Get out the water to put the fire out. Last 4 starts, he has only gone 5 innings per game with 20 earned on 36 hits in 20.2 total innings. A bloated 8+ ERA for the month. Clevinger making his 2nd career start. Went 5+ striking out 5 giving up 4 earned last time out. He was the top arm in the Indians system for whatever that is worth. Taking the RANGERS here. These guys win with Hamels on the hill (17-4). And to be honest, let's look at Keuchel here. Guy is clearly not himself. He is 0-2 in his 4 May starts with a 6.85 ERA this month! 5.43 ERA on the year. Teams hitting him at a .288 clip, .316 this month. How do you trust him as a fave here? I can't, especially when Texas is 13-2 last 15 in the series. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS |

05-22-16 | Indians +113 v. Red Sox | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 32 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS here. Like Salazar better than Porcello here. Simple as that. He has 61Ks in 50 innings including 8 or more Ks in all 4 of his May starts. 1.00 WHIP and .157 BA against. You know I like my guys who miss bats. Porcello the ole pitch to contact guy. A 6-2 record and 3.51 ERA is respectable. So is he .228 BA against and 1.09 WHIP. But the ERA is high for a reason . He gives up hits with men on base. At his historic best, he is a guy with a 4+ ERA and never a big strikeout guy. Indians have won 5 of 7 against Sox. I think they are the better team, and have the edge on the hill today. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |

05-21-16 | Orioles -119 v. Angels | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 8 m | Show
Taking the ORIOLES here. Kevin Gausman deserves better. Guy is rocking a 3 ERA. 0-1 in 5 starts. Poor kid has given up 10 earned runs and can't find a win. I think the Baltimore bats can muster some offense tonight against Matt Shoemaker. Shoemaker lowered his ERA nearly an entire half a run by giving up only 3 runs in 5 innings last game. A respectable 8.49 ERA coupled with a .328 BA against and 1.85 WHIP has have to have the O's sluggers licking their chops tonight. Plus Shoemaker has been absolutely abused pitching at home this year. A 14.40 ERA in 3 starts lasting just 10 innings allowing 20 hits and 17 runs. That translates to a .417 BA against and WHIP of 2.70. Yikes! Like I said in my pre-season team W/L preview, this Angels team is going to be bad. At 13-20, their. .394 win % is the 3rd worse ahead of the Twins and completely rebuilding Atlanta. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES |

05-21-16 | Rockies +121 v. Pirates | 5-1 | Win | 121 | 8 h 38 m | Show
Taking the ROCKIES here. There are several pitchers that I don't like at all. And Niese is on that list. A 5+ ERA, near .300 BA against and a 1.54 WHIP. Chatwood actually has some decent numbers. He had 2 starts where he gave up 5 and 6 runs. Other than that, 7 runs in 6 starts. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES |

05-20-16 | Rays +102 v. Tigers | 7-5 | Win | 102 | 7 h 21 m | Show
Taking the RAYS here. Tampa must of found some offense in customs as they erupted for runs like mad banshees in Toronto. If we can get half that kind of support tonight, it should be another easy win on the bases for us. Much like backing the Nationals last night, we are backing a pitcher in Andriese, though with a smaller sample size, has been very good. With just 2 starts this season under his belt, Matt is rocking a .56 ERA and WHIP and a .122 BA against. Anibal Sanchez has given up 4 runs in 3 straight and 5 of his last 6 outings. Rays 7-3 last 10 on the road and Tigers 1-5 in Sanchez's last 6 starts. 4* Money Maker TAMPA BAY RAYS |

Taking OAKLAND here. If any of these network sites had the A's RL at +190, I would lay the runs. That is how bad I think this Yankees team is. Forget them being 2-12 last 14 here in Oakland. This line up is not producing. Tex, Arod, Beltran, all guys they rely on are banged up and all closer to 40 than 30. Some clown OF from Boston they signed to a ridiculous contract. They already had Ellsbury. His name is Bret Gardner. And Gardy has been better. I do like Castro and Didi though. After that. This team is clearly in sell mode when July gets here. The rotation is in trouble. Yes they have a great 3 arms in the bullpen. But they don't help if you are losing and can't score runs. A's have won 4 straight and looking to continue the Yanks road woes (5-12). 4* Money Maker OAKLAND A's |

Taking the NATIONALS here. Cashed with Gio and the Nats last night, and will come back again here with the short price. Look. It is pretty simple for me. Harvey has not looked good all year. I will admit. I was one of many last year saying the guy should pitch into the post season. You never know when you are getting back. Remember the Nats sitting, this guy, Strasburg, during their post season run a few years back? Well, they are still looking to get to a World Series. That being said, I think Harvey is still over coming his post surgery. As common as this stuff is, it still takes time to get back to really being 100%. Harvey has a .311 BA against and a WHIP of over 1.50. That isn't going to cut it against any MLB line-ups. Right now these guys are on 2 different ends of the spectrum. I'll take the guy who looks head and shoulders better. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS |
