Taking the PADRES here. Yes, this line looks low when we see Shields numbers on the year. But he hasn't been especially sharp of late. That being said, I like his home splits. A 2.68 ERA and 66Ks in 58 innings show me he is missing bats. For the Giants, Matt Cain is, well, not the Matt Cain of 2012 and before. He has gone 5,6,5 innings since coming off the DL. At this short price, we go with the home team. 4* Money Maker SAN DIEGO PADRES

Taking TAMPA BAY here. Ramirez has been one of the best in baseball lately. 8-2 his last 11 starts since moving into the rotation with a 2.12 ERA his last 15 games and a .91 WHIP. I do like Dickey. I do. But he hasn't been sharp. Toronto has an explosive offense. But the fact is that this guy is 3-10 with a line-up like this behind him. Rays 8-4 last 12 here. Taking the BRAVES here. Shelby Miller is sporting a tidy 2.20 ERA on the year with a .209 BA against and a 1.09 WHIP. He should improve on those today against the Phillies. Philly has dropped 6 in a row and 9 of 10. I know it is tough to sweep teams, but the Phillies have been already been swept 8 times this year. It is tough being a pitcher knowing you have to go out and if you give up 3 runs you are losing. That is the boat Hamels in in. 4* Money Maker ATLANTA BRAVES

The other is off a game where he gave up 7 straight hits and 6 runs in an inning. Estrada has looked great. But I like Rodriguez in this spot. They say he was tipping his pitches. Taking the WHITE SOX here. Alright. You get hammered 11-0 and get only 2 hits, I think, as a man, and a team, you are coming out extra pumped tonight. Pirates are where I expect them to be. They are a good team. But I am not fooled by Morton's number. He throws to contact. Not a strike out guy. Now, CWS have underachieved in my eyes. I think they are more talented and better team than this. I do like Quintana. He is an underrated arm. He has allowed 2 or less runs in 8 of his 12 starts. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX

Taking the BRAVES here. Boston has lost 6 straight and 14 of their last 20. Perez on the surface has nice numbers, but I don't like his walks. That being said, Sox in a tail-spin. Losses and dug-out blow-ups show the tension is mounting. Porcello is sporting an ERA approaching 6 his last 3 starts. 4* Money Maker ATLANTA BRAVES

Taking the TWINS here. Ok, normally I would be fading Minny who has dropped 4 straight. But I can't overlook Pelfrey right now (Twins 8-2 his last 10 starts). They guy is just dealing with a .96 ERA his 28 innings. Texas won yesterday with just 5 hits. That won't cut it with the way Pelfrey has been pitching. Colby Lewis sports a 7.28 career ERA vs Minny and Texas has lost his last 4 starts vs Twins. 4* MINNESOTA TWINS

Taking the INDIANS here. Will fade Verlander off the DL. Fact is, this guy hasn't been his 'vintage' self in some time now. Indians have underachieved big time in my eyes. But this staff is very good. I like a lot of their young guns including Cassasco today. I know the Indians don't have good numbers vs the Tigers. But clearly the line shows up today what they think of Verlander. Indians have won 8 of their last 11 on the road, while the Tigers have dropped 8 of 10 at home. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS

Taking the BLUE JAYS here. Will grab the team on a 9 game win streak and fade Boston who has now lost 4 in a row. You know we like playing or streaks this time of year. Things are going good for a team when you are down 8-1 in the 3rd inning and take a 13-8 lead and win 13-10. Jays now 9-4 last 13 in Boston. Red Sox are 3-10 in Buchholz's last 13 home starts and 4-11 his last 15 starts overall. Blue Jays 7-1 last 8 times facing Buchholz. 4* TORONTO BLUE JAYS

Taking the ROCKIES here. Marlins have lost 3 straight and send a guy, Phelps, to the hill and his 8.62 ERA last 15 innings. Plus he has a 5.50 ERA in 5 home games. Now Colorado isn't some top team in the NL. But lefty Chris Rusin has impressed with a 1.45 ERA in his 18+ innings this year and 15 strikeouts. Opponents hitting just .214 against him. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES

Taking the GIANTS here. Have to continue to fade the Mets. Get no-hit, then their supposed ace get knocked around. This offense is futile. SF offense led by Buster, but he has a solid cast around him. Niese has an ERA approaching 8 his last 5 starts (7.96), 6.75 his last 2. Hitters batting .302 against him this year. I know Lincecum isn't a Cy Young guy anymore, but he is 6-3 with a respectable 3. 29 ERA so far. Mets don't have the offense to overcome the way Niese has pitched. 4* Money Maker SF GIANTS

Taking the RANGERS here. Texas 8-2 their last 10 and look to continue Oakland's slide. A's have dropped 4 straight and haven't looked particularly well. Rangers have the best road record in MLB (20-12). Hahn has been impressive with a 1.64 ERA his last 3 starts. But Texas is really playing well lately. I will be the first to say I didn't think Oakland would been 14 games under .500 at this point. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS
