Taking the BRAVES today. Thought about going RL for +150. But we need to get some winners going on the site. Can't seem to gain any footing on the bases. Have not had a good dog run the first 3 months of the year. That being said, back to the grind. We play our numbers and historically have shown a profit. So let's back Newcomb early. Kid has been great all year. Home, away - it doesn't matter. We are barely above .200 BA Against a 1.15 WHIP. Castillo is a guy who hurt the bankroll early. Going 5-8 with a 5.70 ERA will do that. We can pencil in a 3 spot in 5 innings for him. His road splits are rough. 9 starts, 6.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and opposing hitter slapping a .280 clip. 4* Money Maker ATLANTA BRAVES

Taking the MARLINS here. Will take a shot on the small home puppies. How can I now? Shelby Miller hasn't been in more than a year off of TJ surgery. He wasn't all that sharp before getting injured. Not sold a .77 in 2 Single A starts. Let's look at that 4.77 ERA in 4 Triple A starts. 20 hits in 19.1 innings. He did strikeout 28 hitters in those starts. But the numbers are average at best. Taking the PADRES. Good value on Ross for us here. Kid has been solid for San Diego. Not sure where MadBum is right now. Slowly coming back from the DL. Off his first 100 pitch start of the year. But he did issue 4 walks in 6 innings. Can't overlook the 3 HRs in last 11 innings either. Ross with a solid .201 BA Against on the road and a nice 1.09 WHIP. Ross is 1-0 in 2 starts vs SF this season allowing 2 runs, 1 earned in 12 innings - 14K's 11 hits. I'll take a shot with the dog. 4* Money Maker SAN DIEGO PADRES

Taking the PIRATES. So lost with the Brewers here yesterday, but will flip sides today. Have to back Tailon over Peralta. Tailon with a 2.73 ERA his last 3 starts, allowing 8 runs in 26 innings. Both offenses silent yesterday in that 1-0 game. Milwaukee with just 2 hits. Now they send out a rookie making his 3rd career start. 18 Ks in 9.2 innings. Looks solid. But 8 walks, including 6 in his last start. Obviously, the kid has talent. 1 hit in 5.2 innings 13 Ks in his debut. But last game, 4 innings 3 hits 1 HR 6 Walks 5Ks. So still is a bit erratic. Will grab the home team tonight as they have 4 of the last 5 in the series, and 6 of the last 8 in Pittsburgh. 4* Money Maker PITT PIRATES

Taking SEATTLE here. One, the Yanks just had a weird day yesterday. Finished a suspended game, then won a regular game. Mariners with the day off. Two - Do people realize that Seattle is a pretty good team this year? 46-22, 2 games back of the Astros who have reeled off 12 in a row. Gonzalez has 1.41 ERA his last 6 starts. Three, German. I get the Yankees offense is a beast. But this guy is carrying a 5+ ERA. He gave up runs in 5 trips out of the pen, and has done so in his 7 starts. After a great 1st start - 6 innings 9Ks and no hits, he hasn't approached that. 6-6-4-4-3-3. Does he give up 2-2 his next 2 starts? 6 innings, 3 runs is what he will probably do tonight. 4* Money Maker SEATTLE MARINERS

Taking the BREWERS. Well. We are now almost at July. And I can't lie. My MLB has not been up to the job at hand. The divide between good and bad teams seems huge - I just cannot catch a dog run. And when I play on my pitcher numbers, we end up getting beat by a bullpen. Wish these sites had 1st five, then we would be cooking with gas. That being said, I expect to be .500 or better by seasons end. New week. Let's start it off right. So taking Chacin - guy has been sharp for the Brewers. Milwaukee 12-3 when he is on the hill amd have cashed 6 straight with him starting. Road ERA not as good as home (4.08 - 2.21) but his WHIP and BA Against are nearly the same. Williams has taken a turn for the worse allowing 20 runs in his last 21 innings. There is an ERA approaching 10 his last 3 starts. Last game he hit 4 batters and issued 6 walks in 3+ innings. That was on the heels of getting bombed for 6 earned in Boston and not getting out of the 6th inning. That being said, Urena not doing it with a 1-8 record. But as I dig into all the numbers, I think he is a Top 25 NL Pitcher. I have Gausman near 50 in the AL. Urena will give us 6. The question for us is can the Marlins push acros 3-4 runs. And why couldn't they? Orioles, a league worse 19 wins. The joke was that Miami is a team of, 'who is that guy'. Taking the GIANTS. One of those lines that scares me bit. Not as much as me backing off Sox RL over the O's that we ended up losing as Baltimore couldn't push across a run. But this Giants team has surprised me out of the gate. I had them pegged for a bad start. They survived Cueto and MadBum being out and lo and behold, here they are in the thick of the NL West race. Miami is brutal. I have had so so success backing them. But not in this spot. Richards has been bad. 29 hits in 28.2 innings. More worrisome is the 14 walks. He had nice AAA numbers - but other than the K's, nothing else has worked out in his 6 starts. He will go 5 and give up 3 tonight. Taking the ORIOLES tonight. I'll be honest here - thought about Sox RL for +150. It's June. After 2 months, you know I love my dogs and RLs. Always looking for value. But this is one of those games that looks 'too easy' - Bundy, if we take out a putrid 3 game stretch, has pitched well this year. 19 earned in 9 innings will balloon your ERA. In his other 10 starts, I see a guy who gives us about 7 innings tonight. He has lost twice at Boston this year. 6-3, 6-1 giving up 5 earned in those games. Wright is making his 2nd start of the year. Knuckle-baller coming out of the pen. He has started in previous year. And with the rubber arm, it isn't like he will be on a pitch count. Taking the TIGERS. Not much to say. Have had a really rough month of May with MLB. Can't hold on to leads. Totals getting blown. If these sites had 1st 5 innings listed we would be making a killing. Taking the PHILLIES. Like Nola. Kid is good. Really coming into his own this season. 1.01 road WHIP .216 BA Against and 2.73 ERA in 5 road starts. But for me, this is a fade of Kershaw. Not that he has been terrible. Guy has a 2.86 ERA on the year. I feel that off the DL, this is good value. He's allowed 7 HRs in 44 innings. And sitting at 1-4, he has been beatable. Bicep problems were said to be the reason for velocity dip. Maybe he still has some lingering back issues. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

Taking the RAYS- Man. I can't catch a break on the diamond. Bullpens blowing leads. Totals turning into pushes or losses. Money moves getting turned upside down. As much as I love the grind of MLB for 7 months, it is tough a go some weeks. So we turn to Tampa as the A's just seem to have lost their offense their last 3 games. I know it is tough to sweep 4 games on the road. But all the signs point to it happening. Mengden, who has rewarded us in the past, off a CG. I have had some mixed results with fading starters off CGs. But since they are normally faves, we have made a little coin. Kris Davis a big bat to replace in the middle of the lineup for Oakland. Will also be on the Under today as I like the pain and heartache of watching my totals finding new ways to go up in flames. 4* Money Maker TAMPA BAY RAYS

But it is what it is. It will all even out and at the end of October, we'll be in the plus money. As for this afternoon. I like Reyes. Kid has been razor sharp in his rehab starts. Taking the TWINS. Not a fan of laying on the road. But I have Gibson rated significantly higher than Duffy in this season so far. A 2.61 road ERA in 5 starts helps our cause tonight. WHIP of .90 - .129 BA against. KC is not a murder's row of offense. Duffy getting hammered. A 7 ERA in May. Batters slapping him at .315 this month, .283 on the year. Twins 6-0 in Gibson's last 6 starts vs Royals. KC though 5-1 in Duffy's last 6 home starts vs Minny. That 2.13 ERA and .89 WHIP looks impressive though. I think the move to the NL helps. Let's not forget his time in Tampa where he was 4-4 5.89 ERA vs the Orioles. Bundy off a CG gem. Normally. Hello! Look at this number - Maybe its too good to be true and Philly is easy money. But after writing on sites for over nearly 15 years I have fond nothing is easy. Gohara is a bullpen guy getting a start. He is a huge prospect for Atlanta. We had the Braves last night. Now 14-3 their last 17 on the road. Phils have dropped Arrieta's last 4 starts. Lance Lynn is finding the AL a bit different then the NL. A 7.47 ERA in 8 starts. 6+ here at home. An over 2 WHIP, 13 innings and 13 walks. Enter JA Happ. I said I like Happ. Well, really like him on the road 1.93 ERA .172 BAA and .96 WHIP - But this game says Rogers Centre. And we get Home-Happ. 5.40 ERA in 6 starts. Yeah, we get 44 Ks in 33 innings but also 7 HRs and 20 earned. He'll give up 3-4 by the 5th. Both teams come in struggling. LAA 3-7 run, Jays 2-8. Angels though 4-1 last 5 vs Toronto. I can get behind a dog with those numbers. Sometimes a guy just fares well vs another team. And then we have Vince Velasquez. 0-3 vs the Braves in 2018. A 9.24 ERA in 12 innings - 16 runs, 13 earned 23 hits and 5 walks. Those are a lot of base-runners. Atlanta 13-3 their last 16 on the road.
