Taking the TWINS here. So Minny is favored with Ricky Nolasco on the hill today. I think all you really need to know is that Jared Weaver has excellent numbers (9-2 3.22) lifetime numbers vs the Twins and the Angels have the best guy in AL in Mike Trout. Yet are a small dog to a team that just notched its first win. 4* Money Maker MINNESOTA TWINS

Taking the MARINERS here. Have to back King Felix here. Guy has been absolutely dominate sporting a .69 ERA and WHIP of .85 in his first two win-less starts. Mariners seem to be swinging the bat on the heels of last night game pounding out 12 hits. CC looked fine in his return to the mound. I love playing my home dogs on the bases. But in this spot, the way Felix has looked and the fact that CC has been, well, the way he has looked the last 3 years. Which hasn't been that sharp. Give me the M's. 4* Money Maker SEATTLE MARINERS

Taking the ROYALS here. Sign me up for the defending champs, on a tidy 3 game win streak against a struggling Oakland team. They are 1-6 at home, losers of 3 straight. Rich Hill? Go check out that guy's career. And I don't mean that as a knock, because Lord knows I don't have talent to pitch 12 years in MLB. But the stats show me that a gritty team like KC is going to do what it does. Win. Win when for the last 2 years people said not a chance. Taking the WHITE SOX here. We have cashed already with Sale and will the streaking pale hose here on the road. Line is short when you see the pitching match-up names, but Tampa is 5-1 last 6 vs Chicago and 4-1 last 5 when facing Sale. For me though, this is a different Rays team. Not much offense for them scoring 1 run last 2 games facing a pair of strike out guys in Carrasco and Salazar of the Indians. Sale fits that bill also. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX

Taking the ORIOLES here. I will be fading away on Buchholz all year long. We did it in his first game, and will do it here. Not impressed at all with this guy. His home numbers are what they are. A 3.58 ERA last year with a BA Against of .298 1.39 WHIP. 2014 3-7 6.64 .302 1.53. He has had 2 really good years. 2013 and 2010. They are clearly in the past and Clay is very hittable. Orioles still undefeated and send an unproven starter to the mound tonight. Still feel that Baltimore bats will put up enough runs to get us another underdog winner. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES

Taking the BLUE JAYS here. This is a game that I should probably be upping our wagers and playing for more units. But I am a creature of habit and can't justify, even hitting 64% so far, not going to change my methods. I like Sanchez. Stroman might get more press, but this kid is my AL Cy Young sleeper. Laugh if you will, but like my NL sleeper Syndergaard, this guy is talented. I won't be shocked when he wins 17-20 games this year and neither should you. Living in NYC area, Tanaka is one pitch away from Tommy John surgery. Shame since he looked awesome when he first arrived. But the guy is not the same pitcher. The old bats of the Bombers have and early extra day of rest with a PPD under their belts. Don't think that matters a week into the season though. Jays can rake with anyone and do it better than most. Jays 6-2 last 8 in the series and I expect that to continue tonight. 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYS

And I think the guy is a stud top line ace, has struggled vs the Reds. 0-4 5.23 ERA career and 0-3 5.95 last year vs Cincinnati. The young Iglesias is showing the skills he flashed briefly last year. Taking the ROYALS here. Look. Harvey is good. But he does have a history of giving up runs when he is too pumped up. I think the time off hurts the Mets a little. They were on a nice little ride. KC in back to back World Series'!! Just let that roll off the tongue again. This is going to be a fun series. But here, I think the KC bats will wear down the Dark Knight. As I said this post season. Mets can pitch. They have these hard throwing K machines. But the Royals make contact. Coupled with the time off, maybe a bit of nerves for the Mets, and KC should get Game 1 here. Too be honest, I think this line is screaming take the Royals. I mean, Harvey has clearly out-pitched Volquez for the season and his post-season starts. Taking the BLUE JAYS here. I have said on numerous podcasts and radio spots, this Blue Jays teams crushes mediocre pitching. And that is exactly what is on tap here Friday night. Edison Volquez went 17-6 with 206 Ks in a career year.. That was in 2008! He is what he is. A slightly better than .500 pitcher with a 4 something ERA. Just the kind of pitcher Toronto has crushed all year. Estrada took the most of his opportunity to be a full time starter posting a tidy 1.09 WHIP, .203 BA Against and an ERA of 3.13. Not too shabby. I said in July after the Price and Tulo deal, this was the team to beat. They have a great blend of speed (Ben Revere) power (Bats EE) leaders (Martin, Dickey). 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYS

Taking the DODGERS here. Tough laying 150 against a guy like DeGrom. He fanned, what, 13 Ks last game. The kid is good. But how can we knock Greinke either. The guy had epic year, and was sharp his last time out. I would think about going RL here, but +165 doesn't seem like a good enough value on the return. This can easily be 1-0, 2-1, 3-2. Runs will be at a premium. I am the first to say I thought LA was going to choke away a playoff appearance, and this first round. I have seen enough from Kershaw in his outings and from the LAD themselves that this team has a bit of an attitude about themselves. They have a nice combo of veterans and youngsters. The bullpen is a weak spot for them. But here, all hands on deck. If it gets bad early, we will see Keuchal and your worries should subside. Fact is, Cueto hasn't been all that effective since coming to KC. Hitters raking him to a .307 average in 13 starts. And his post-season numbers leave much to be desired (5.52 ERA 4 starts 14+ inning 1.70 WHIP). Houston playing with house money. They were predicted to be at least a year, maybe 2 away from really contending. Pressure is on the reigning AL Champs here. McHugh is 2-0 1.38 in 13 innings vs KC. And make no mistake, they can say they needed him out of the pen, but the fact is, his post-season numbers are garbage. Taking the METS here. Look. We cashed the Rangers yesterday in a similar spot. Kershaw is a great pitcher. But the fact is he spits the bit in the post-season. A 1-5 5.12 ERA in 11 games, 8 starts. He has been great posting a 1.22 ERA last 17 starts. But the Mets have their own stud on the hill. DeGrom can match zeros here with Clayton. A 2.54 ERA on the year, .98 WHIP. I am not a fan of his road splits for sure. That being said, I think the NYM line-up is better than LAD even if Puig plays. Cesepedes has transformed the entire team around him. If we get home-style DeGrom all we need is a Kershaw mistake for a 1-0, 2-1 win. Runs will be at a premium for sure. Taking the RANGERS here. Will come back to these guys again after cashing them as huge dogs yesterday. And why not. It isn't like Cole Hamels is an inexperienced arm. He has loads of post-season experience(7-4 3.09 ERA). This is why he is here. Well, more for next year since I am sure nobody thought Texas would make this run. But here we are. Now, Stroman has been nearly unhittable since coming back. I can't say a negative thing about the kid. But anything is possible in play-off action. And maybe the Jays feel a little bit of pressure here down in the series. Hamels at this price, worth the shot as we are playing with house money from yesterday's easy win. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS

Taking the RANGERS here. I like the Jays. I think they can win the whole thing. But. David Price post-season, is different then David Price regular season. The Price isn't right unless we are taking the dogs here. Maybe Price has his stuff straight mows down the Rangers. But getting 2-1, I will put some eggs in Gallardo's basket. 5 games 1-2 2.08 ERA in 26 innings with 20Ks.. Worth a shot for sure. He also has 13+ scoreless innings vs Jays (2-0) this year. Again, Price 1-5 4.50 ERA in 10 career starts 40 innings. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS

Taking the ASTROS here. with Keuchal on the hill. This guy just might edge out David Price for the AL Cy Young Award. Obviously, he has very impressive numbers at home, but his road splits aren't very sexy. Doesn't matter to me though. This Yankees team will have a hard time getting their bats on the ball here. At home, he tossed a SHO 6 hitter with 12 Ks back in June vs NYY. In the Bronx, 7 innings 3 hits 9 more Ks. The big names for the Bombers are older guys who will have trouble catching up to this kid. I just don't see it happening. Even on short rest, I expect a big performance based on what a monumental feat this is for Houston. I will say Tanaka surprised me since his arm didn't explode. He had a solid year, but let's be honest, the guy ins't healthy. They skipped a start for him because of his hammy and he comes back to give up 4 runs in 5 innings. Astros torched him in Houston for 6 earned in 5 innings. Let's give Giardi and the Yanks some credit for getting here. No Tex. Arod a huge come-back year. But really, Ellsbury and Beltran weren't that good. Gardy and McCann had solid years. But this team clearly over-achieved. Astros advance. 5* Best Bet HOUSTON ASTROS

Taking the DODGERS here. Now normally I am fading teams after they clinch a division. But in this case, I will ride them. Dodgers a game back of NYM for home-field. And let's be honest. Everyone wants home field. I will say that I said last Wednesday on my podcast, (9pm EST live find it) that I thought the Dodgers were going to collapse and SF was going to sweep them here. Well, it was the Giants who collapsed. I expect to see many youngsters today for SF as they go through the motions. I hated seeing their respect the rivalry nonsense. That is crazy. The players are done. LAD is looking for momentum. LA 5-1 last 6 in the series. 4* Money Maker LA DODGERS

Taking the RANGERS here. Colby Lewis pitching very well with a 1.71 ERA his last 3. In case you missed it. He's a 17 game winner on a team looking to clinch the AL West. Tigers are closing shop on a wasted, lost year. Verlander is a shell of his Cy Young self. He has pitched better lately, but I'm not sold on him, or his line-up. And especially that bullpen. Rangers are 4-1 last 5 times facing the Verlander. One final thought. Texas winds up the year with a series vs the Angels. There is no way, no way, they want that series to dictate what happens in their own play-off scenario. Look for them to take care of the Tigers early here. 5* Best Bet TEXAS RANGERS

Taking the INDIANS here. Can't even remember the last time I put out b2b Top 10s, especially when I am off a loss like the White Sox last night. That being said, this is a prime spot for us to win. Royals wrapped up their first division title since 1985 last night. I really can't see them being full-force today. A let down is in order. Carrasco has allowed 2 or fewer runs in 7 of his last 8 starts. He is 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA vs the Royals this year. Volquez has a 6.49 ERA his last 4 starts. They are going through the motions here. Now Sale. Well he has lost 3 straight and win-less his last 5. I see him coming here and mowing down 10-15 hitters. Pineda made it to the 6th last time out. Taking SAN FRAN here. Are we really shocked that with the season winding down, the Giants are 6 back of the 300 million dollar Dodgers and have 4 games left with them h2h. You are getting extra value with this purchase because I am telling you now, SF catches LAD. That being said, SF is hot right now, on a tidy 7-3 run last 10. Flip that for the 3-7 stretch of the Padres, and 2-6 last 8 at home. Peavy has been rock solid since July lowering his ERA by 2 full runs + some extra. Giants have won 6 straight in the series. So one team knows who their leader will be, and will fight not to lose 100 games. While the other bunch, is ho-hum, let's end this season already. Tribe 6, Sox 7 back of Texas for the final wild-card spot. So they still both have a glimmer of hope for October baseball. That being said, I can't take the home team here based on the way Samardijza has pitched. Indians 4-1 last 5 here in Chicago. Tomlin in his 5 starts so far has looked very good.
