Taking the PIRATES here. Have to grab Nova at this price. Guy has been great so far this year. A 1.50 ERA so far including a .198 BA Against a WHIP of .75. He has been even better in road starts posting numbers of 1.06 ERA, .140 BAA and .47 WHIP in 2 complete games, 1 shutout. After last nights 7-2 loss, I expect the Pirates to generate some offense off of Tim Adleman. He has already given up 5 HRs in his 15 innings of work this season. 4* Money Maker PITT PIRATES

Taking the ROCKIES here. This is all about 'road' Chatwood. Guy is totally different pitcher on the road. Already in 2017, a 7+ ERA at home, 2.40 on the road. Last year, 4-8 6.12 ERA at home, 8-1 1.69 ERA on the road. Colorado 12-4 in Chatwood's last 16 on the road. Rockies 4-1 in his last 5 here in San Diego. This line is screaming to me to take SD with the Chatwood splits. But at such a small price, I will have to take the overall better team at this number. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES

Taking the BRAVES here. We backed Teheran in his rainout start, and will come to him at home. I will be totally honest. You give up 25 runs in a game, and you should be very pissed off. Part of me wants to unload on the Mets for that display yesterday. And albeit giving up 25 is obscene, this NY bunch has been under-performing through out the start of the season. Teheran has the numbers vs the Mets. And even if this line is a little short in my eyes, will have to lay it. 4* Money Maker ATLANTA BRAVES

Have to say, I really don't like anything on the card today. Last night, 5 games, today, not so much. And truth be told on days like this, I would prefer a total pass. But a lot of you out there on my packages, even when I don't have something very strong, still want to here my thoughts on the day. Well, here they are -Thought about NYY on the RL with that terrible O's bullpen costing us a win. But not much of a return. Thought about Nova who has been pitching great. But I don't like backing teams when they steamroll an opponent the night before. And 12-2 is a true beating. Red Sox were a winner for us last night, and thought about an Over play in that match-up. Wright has been bad, and the Cubs hitters should work him over. But I have to settle on the PHILLIES and Zach Eflin tonight as an opinion play. Right off the bat, how in the heck is Brandon McCarthy a fave like this? Eflin has been solid in his 2 starts. 12 innings, 6 hits, 3 earned. Not getting hit around. And this Dodgers team has underachieved so far this year. As I am doing this write-up, the Phillies, who are on an 8-2 run their last 10, are up 2-0 in the 3rd. LA is 4-7 their last 11. No way I trust them laying this, so I'll just have to take a shot at the big pay-day. PHILLIES as a small opinion 1* selection

Taking the ANGELS here. Part of me wants to take the home dogs for sure. I mean, Texas is 4-1 last 5 vs the Halos. They seem to win every series vs the Angels. We have LAA coming in off a night game flying across time zones. But then I see this line. We have a 3-8 road team favored, over a team with a winning home record. hmm. Now, most of you know that I would most certainly take a home dog over a small road fave. Heck. We are doing that with another premium pick tonight by not taking the Cubs and Jake Arrieta! Again though. I stick to something's that have proven to make me money year after year. And teams with losing road records, being favored, well, lets just say I really don't have to think twice. 4* Money Maker LAA ANGELS

Taking the RED SOX here. Coming off b2b losses to the Yanks, Boston will look to take out some frustration the Cubbies and their old boss Theo Epstein. Look. I see this line and shake my head. Arrieta -Jake Arrieta - Cy Young, No-Hitter having 1.77 ERA in 2015, 18-8 last year, 426 strikeouts Jake Arrieta is a -120 fave over Drew Pomeranz? Drew Pomeranz who has 2, 2!! Winning seasons in his life 2-1 his rookie year 2011 with 4 games (4 starts) and 5-4 in 2014 with 20 games (10 starts). And yet we have this line. Maybe it's too good to be true. Cubs win 11-3. Taking the INDIANS here. I know it is tough backing teams that are in a funk. And Cleveland, having lost 5 of the last 6 at home fits that bill. Especially since Houston has run off 10 of 12 in the opposite direction. But have some nice numbers working in our favor. One, we have McCullers on the hill for the visitors. The guys splits work in our favor. Just 3-8 with 5+ ERA on the road in his career. While for the Tribe, Trevor Bauer has been fantastic vs the Astros. 5 starts, 5 wins an ERA of 1.97 with 38Ks in 32 innings. They are sitting at home, comfy in their beds. And they are watching the Nationals play the Sunday Night game on TV. At best, Washington will be leaving NY by midnight. Flying cross-country, to face a red hot team that has reeled off 6 wins in their last 7 games. Nats, as I write this, up 4-3 over their hated rivals, Top 4. KC off a nice win over MadBum. And I lost with them the night before 2-1 in extra innings. They are simply not producing any offense. As good as Duffy has been, he has had problems with Texas. (5.30 ERA 4 starts) This is not a play on Cashner by any stretch. Just think that until the Royals offense starts to come around, I will have to fade. Send in the clowns. SF is sitting in the basement of the NL West. They have to fly to Kansas City for a 2 game set vs the AL Central? Then go Colorado to face the Rockies who they just lost 2 outta 3 to. Are they really 100% into this game or series? KC has won 4 straight. And for me, trends like this are huge on the bases. I had STL with C-Mart. He was a strikeout machine, but also a walk machine. Toss in some errors and it's a bad day all around. But this Cardinals team has looked terrible in the field the entire Yankees series. Losers of 3 straight, 8 of 10, 9 of 12. Nova had a very good spring and has looked solid so far in his 2 starts of 2017. Lynn has a 4.74 ERA vs Pitt for his career. (5-5 19 games, 17 starts). STL has just one regular hitting over .250. Taking the CARDINALS here. Clearly, CC has seen better days. If you had the big lefty with a 1.64 ERA in his first 2 starts, well take a bow. He gave the Yanks 4 really good years going 74-27 with an ERA around 3.20. Even year 5 at 14-13 4.78 211 innings wasn't horrible. Now the time has come to pay the piper on this contract. 3-4 5.28 (injuried) 6-10 4.73 29 starts, 9-12 3.91 30 starts. 2015 and 2016 couldn't get to 200 innings. Looking at this 1.64 ERA he has been lucky. In his 11 innings, 9 hits and 6 walks. That is what I call getting a bounce or 2. Sign me up on C-Mart. Taking the BLUE JAYS here. Ok. So I was thinking there is no way I can take the Jays. How can I grab a team on a 5 game losing streak, even if a small fave like this. Normally, against my better judgement. But I have to throw our hat into the ring here based on 1 thing. Kevin Gausman. Yes, he took a no-decision against these same Blue Jays on April 3rd. 5+ innings, 5 Hits 4 Ks 4 BBs and 2 earned. He skirted trouble. Which is easy when the lineup you face has 1 guy hitting over .250 - He has 7 walks in 10 innings this year. That is a recipe for disaster putting guys on base with really any MLB lineup. But I look at the road splits and have to fade the O's. Baltimore 8-22 in Gausman's last 30 road starts. 3-10 last year in 18 road starts. 1-6 the year before. At home, yeah, he's a playable option since he won't be laying a heavy number. On the road, fade train. Liriano comes in with an ERA of 135 and hitters are raking to a .750 clip! Ok, skewed numbers from a game where he lasted just a third of an inning with 3 hits and 4 walks 5 earned runs allowed. He pitched pretty good here in his 5 starts last season. 33Ks in 29 innings. A .200 BAA and 1.09 WHIP are respectable. So Toronto in off being shut out. Could be the worse offense in the AL right now. Pitcher off a nightmare start. He has fared terribly vs the A's. 3-9 in 14 career starts. A 4.64 ERA. Rangers are 1-7 in Yu's last 8 home starts vs Oakland and 3-10 last 13. The A's tagged him in this stadium for 7 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings last September. Dogs are worth a shot at this price. 4* Money Maker OAKLAND A's

Taking the ROYALS here. KC finally in the winners circle after last night's win. Now, to be honest, I think KC will be selling off their veterans come July. But tonight, I think Duffy is worth a shot at this price. This kid is a tough lefty and I am expecting a break-out year from him. I think he is nasty enough to shut down this very good Astros team. He doesn't have to be perfect. That's because as good as Keuchel was opening day, can we completely trust that is back to 2015 form? KC raked him for 10 hits in 6+ last June. Tough to gauge that since Houston blasted Edison Volquez for 12 runs in an inning + of work. That being said, KC is just one of those teams that I will back early when getting a line like this. 4* Money Maker KC ROYALS

Taking the PIRATES here. We had a couple nice RL games on Thursday night, and I nearly pulled another +160 on Pittsburgh tonight. First, the Braves. They just lost red-hot Matt Kemp. That is a something this lineup will feel for sure. And then their is RA Dickey. Yes, we cashed with another old-timer, Bartolo Colon the other night. But I don't have that kind of faith in the old knuckle-baller. 21 runs in 23 spring training innings. I get that you are 42 and really have nothing to prove. But come on RA! Pirated counter with a youngster who I really like in Kuhl. His .185 BA Against and 1.02 WHIP were pretty solid in spring ball. His walks alarm me a bit. But I think the Pirates offense can offset him giving up a couple runs here. 4* Money Maker PITT PIRATES

Taking the PADRES here. This is a straight up fade train on Matt Cain. The guy hasn't been good in 5 years. 2012 ended a great run for him. Let's forget for a second his horrible spring (7.82 ERA .343 BA Against). At 28, he finished up a string of 8 straight 200+ innings. That was bookend by 190 and 184. Is it shocked that at 30 he had chips removed from his elbow? Or that he hurt his forearm? Or his hammy has been DLing him? Why now after 3 years of injury is he going to pitch like it's 2013? Yes. It is ugly taking Perdomo and his 5+ ERA from last year. And, yes, like you, I look at the SD lineup and say, Who? But the youngster was sharp this spring. For whatever it's worth. Padres have been beating SF of late. 8 of 10 overall and 5 of the last 7 here at home. Both teams off losses as LA hammered SD early 10-2 (we cashed on the over), while Arizona (another winner we played) took care of the Giants late 9-3. Taking the DIAMONDBACKS here. Nearly just went +185 on the RL. This Giants team gets a lot of love. I get MadBum and Cueto at the top of a rotation will bring joy to many fans. But it is a drop-off after that. Enter Samardzija. For all his hype, he had a career high 12 wins last year. 12! Guy is an average pitcher at best. He gets shelled every spring. Now. I am a bit biased since I do like me some Robbie Ray. Kid is young, and can strike people out. Obviously got into trouble with the walks last year. Just think this Arizona team can hit a bit more than SF. 4* Money Maker ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

He was shelled by NY in his 2nd to last start in September last year. But I think that had more to do with fatigue. He had pitched 3 solid games coming off that TJ surgery. Kennedy will never be that 21-4 2.88 ERA guy he was in 2011. But the guy K's a man an inning. He had a very nice spring. At this price, worth the shot. Royals to me, are the better team. And if spring is any indication, things will look tough here in 2017. 7.78 ERA - .338 BA against and 1.73 WHIP. Yikes. Cubs will muster runs tonight. Arrieta went 11-3 on the road last year. And he is no spring-chicken as he is 32 after finally getting to the show. 25 y.o Gray is looking to build off a solid campaign. And he has a nice offense behind him. Story, CarGo, Blackmon, Arenado. Taking the GIANTS here. Have to say, thought I was sitting pretty with the Cubs last night on our free pick video. That being said, who would have thought the Cubs would be the blowing late games? Didn't see that one coming. But I think that San Fran evens things up tonight. I know Lackey has a very good post-season pedigree. The numbers don't lie. They are what they are in the playoffs. But I am more concerned with his road splits. Pedestrian at best this year on the road. 4-4 in 13 starts and a 4.37 ERA. A far cry from the 2.32 ERA and .99 WHIP he put up at home. Moore comes in a winner in 4 of his last 5 starts. Noted, the Dodgers crushed him for 6 runs in an inning back on the 21st, but he rebounded a week later against them 1 run ball over 8. In those 4 other starts, he went 27.2 innings giving up 6 earned striking out 30 with 5 walks. We will be getting a Game 5. 4* Money Maker SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

Taking the DODGERS here. I know that Kershaw doesn't have the best post season numbers. In fact, they are pretty bad overall. 2-6 4.59 ERA in 13 games, 10 starts. Maybe he is just worn down by the time October comes around. He was on the shelf and has a minimum of 10 starts off his arm. That can only help here. He gave up 2 earned in 21 innings in September after coming off the DL. Scherzer also with pedestrian numbers in post-season. 4-3 3.73 ERA in 12 games, 10 starts. I can't say you go wrong grabbing him as a dog. The guy struck out 284 hitters with a .97 WHIP and .199 BA against. But he has gives up HRs and that could be costly here. Nats will be without Ramos, and that is a .307 hitter with 22HRs out of the lineup. Harper I think is injured, or at least has nagging issues the entire season. Daniel Murphy and his .347 average is hampered with an upper leg injury. I think facing Kershaw, and this LA staff in general, you want your best as close to healthy as possible. Seager, Turner, Pederson, Grandal all hit more than 25HRs so I won't be shocked if one, or 2 go yard tonight. But he sports a great road split of 8-3 2.97 ERA in 14 starts with a respectable .219 BA against and 1.13 WHIP. We know that both teams possess deep HR power lineups. We will probably see some runs, but in the end, the O's bullpen will be the difference maker. 5* Best Bet BALTIMORE ORIOLES

Taking the WHITE SOX here. Sox streaking, Rays free falling. Tampa has dropped 6 straight, 9 of 10 and 10 of 12. Archer looking to avoid 20 losses on the year, but brings a 5.54 road ERA to the hill tonight. He has pitched better in September, but at this price, I will still fade him. Sox will want to get to .500 and avoid a losing season. Jose Quintana gives us a great shot tonight. You can nearly set in stone his games. The guy is good for 200+ innings and a low 3 ERA. We will get about 7 from him tonight with limited run damage. His home splits are very good as he has gone 7-4 2.76 ERA with a .93 WHIP. Chicago 5-2 last 7 in the series and get the sweep tonight. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX
