Sports Betting Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

On Monday, the Grizzlies/Thunder total is falling because point guard Mike Conley is out for Memphis and the Nuggets have become less of a home underdog with Ty Lawson upgraded to probable. As we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.

NBA – (703) PORTLAND at (704) WASHINGTON  7:05 E  CSN-NW, CNS-DC

Portland’s offense and defense has been off in recent games which is why they are 1-6 ATS (3-4 ATS) as they begin a four-game road trip. This inconsistency has led to those betting on basketball to move the Trail Blazers from a 1.5-point road favorite to a Pick in Washington. The Wizards might only be 3-2 of late, however, those wins have come at Phoenix, at Golden State and against Oklahoma City and they covered at the L.A. Clippers in defeat. Washington is far from intimidating at home with a .500 record (8-13-1 ATS), yet is 28-15 ATS at home versus teams with winning records. SWM TakeSlight lean Washington

NBA – (713) SAN ANTONIO at (714) NEW ORLEANS  8:05 E  FSSW, FSNO

San Antonio begins its annual ‘rodeo trip’ far from healthy. The Spurs nine-game trek starts in the Bayou and they will be without Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green probably for all of this trip, which is bad news for Greg Popovich’s squad since they have lost six of nine (2-7 ATS) since Jan. 17. The Pelicans are not a picture of health either with regular starters Ryan Anderson, Jrue Holiday and Jason Smith all sidelined. Yet, somehow New Orleans has managed to win four of five (matching ATS mark) and those making NBA picks have lowered the home team from +5 to +3. The Spurs have covered five straight at this locale with four victories, but with far healthier squads. SWM TakeLean New Orleans

CBB – (729) NOTRE DAME at (730) SYRACUSE  7:00 E  ESPN

Syracuse falling from -13.5 to -12 points has nothing to do with their opponent (OK maybe slightly) and everything to do with scheduling. After the Orange survived a visit by Duke 91-89 in OT, less than 48 hours later they to get mentally and physically ready for the Irish. This is what basketball bettors will be pointing to, believing the ‘Cuse will not be as sharp in spite of being elevated to the No.1 team in the country. Notre Dame, despite a veteran team coming into the season, did not play well with its full complement of players and the loss of guard Jerian Grant and other bench players have made the Irish a lower division team in their maiden season in the ACC. Notre Dame is a respectable 6-5 ATS (2-9 SU) in their past 11 visits to the Carrier Dome, nonetheless, the past three have all been losses and non-covers by an average drubbing by 15.6 a contest.SWM TakeSyracuse covers
