NBA Action on Monday night and we will see the San Antonio Spurs take on the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee. Local TV will carry this game, which has a start time of 8:00 pm EST.

Current betting odds for this game have the have the Spurs listed as 7 point favorites, while the total has been set at 192.

Gregg Popovich has been known to throw away certain games through the course of the season as he looks to keep his starters fresher for the post season and on Saturday night he did just that. Tony Parker (12.1 ppg), Tim Duncan (8.5 ppg), Kawhi Leonard (21.0 ppg) and Ginobili (9.5 ppg) all were rested in that game and it resulted in a 111-92 loss at Oklahoma City. Well Pop is doing it again as the four are expected to sit again. Parker, Duncan and Ginobili will sit due to rest, while Leonard is listed as questionable with a quad injury. Lamarcus Aldridge will play and he has had a solid first year with the Spurs as he is 2nd on the team in scoring at 17.9 ppg, while leading them in rebounding at 8.6 rpg. The San Antonio Spurs still have the 2nd best record in the league at 61-12, with all 12 losses coming on the road.  Defense has been the name of the game for the Spurs this year as they check in at tops in the league in points allowed, giving up just 92.6 ppg, while also ranking 2nd in defensive FG% overall and 3rd in three point defense.  On offense the Spurs are 8th in the league in scoring, putting up 104.3 ppg, while also ranking 1st in shooting overall, 2nd from long range and 2nd from the charity stripe. On the road the Spurs have gone 24-12 SU & 19-17 ATS, while averaging 102.6 ppg on 48.2% shooting, while allowing 94.5 ppg on 44.1% shooting in the process.

Trends: The Spurs are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games following a straight up loss and 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Memphis, but just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games playing on 1 days rest. The Over is 19-8 in their last 27 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points, while the Under is 7-1 in their last 8 road games.

The Memphis Grizzlies are missing players as well, but it is not due to rest, it is due to the injury bug. Marc Gasol (16.6 ppg) has been lost for the season, while Mike Conley (15.3 ppg) will be out unit mid-April and P.J. Hairston (7.4 ppg) is out till early April, plus Brandan Wright (6.9) is out indefinitely and Zach Randolph (14.9 ppg) is listed as questionable for this game. That is a lot missing from this team and a big reason why they are just 2-6 in their last eight games. Still they are 41-32 on the year and if the playoffs started today they would have the 5th slot in the West. The If Randolph can’t go tonight then the leading scorers for the team will be Lance Stephenson, who has averaged 15.2 ppg in his 18 games since coming over from the Clippers and Matt Barnes who has averaged just 9.7 ppg on the year.  Overall the Grizzlies enter this game ranked 24th in the league in scoring, putting up just 99.2 ppg, while also ranking 21st in shooting overall and 29th in three point shooting, but they have been strong at the stripe where they are 6th. The defense has been really solid as they are 8th in points allowed at 100.7 ppg, while also ranking 18th in defensive FG% overall and 21st in 3-point defense. At home the Grizzlies are 25-11 SU & 20-16 ATS and have averaged 102.3 ppg on 44.7% shooting, while allowing 101.7 ppg on 45.4% shooting.

Trends: The Grizzlies are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game, but just 5-12 ATS the last 17 games in the series. The Over is 20-6-1 in their last 27 home games, while the Under is 7-3 in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.
