Duke Blue Devils vs Oregon Ducks Sweet 16 Betting Preview & Odds

The Duke Blue Devils had a rather up and down season this year, but here they are making another Sweet 16 appearance. They haven’t looked great in the tournament as they struggled with NC Wilmington, before winning the game by 8 and then they led Yale by 23 at the half, but had to hold on for dear life in the 71-64 win. Duke is 5-1 SU vs the Pac-12 in this event and we also note that #4 seeds are 9-2 ATS as Sweet 16 dogs of less than 8 points since 2006, but Duke is also 1-7 ATS in their last 8 neutral site games and 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS win. Grayson Allen leads the team at 21.8 ppg and he had 29 points in the win over Yale, while Brandon Ingram is 2nd on the team in scoring at 171 ppg and had 25 vs the Bulldogs. Rounding out the double digit scorers is Luke Kennard (11.8 ppg) and Matt Jones (10.5 ppg). Allen, Jones and Ingram all hit 41.3% or better from long range, while Marshall Plumlee leads the team in rebounding at 8.7 rpg. Overall the Blue Devils come in ranked 16th in in the nation in scoring, putting up 81.5 ppg, while also ranking 66th in shooting overall, 20th from long range and 75th at the charity stripe. On defense Duke checks in at 186th in the nation in points allowed, giving up 72.2 ppg, while also ranking 228th in defensive FG% and 128th in 3-point defense. Duke is 149th in the nation in rebounding, while they commit just 9.8 turnovers per game (9th) and force 12.0 turnovers per game (228th).

The Oregon Ducks have had a strong year and they are the top seed in the West. The Ducks had little trouble in beating Holy Cross 91-52 in their opening round game, but their 2nd round game was much tougher as they beat St Joes by just five points in the 69-64 win. The Ducks have now won their last 10 games in a row SU and are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 overall, plus they are 7-2 ATS in their last seven games in the NCAA Tournament, but we also note that #1 seeds are just 1-8 as favorites of 5 or less in this round if they are off an ATS loss.and the Ducks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs the ACC. Oregon has 6 players that average at least 6.75 ppg and are led by Dillon Brooks, who averages 16.8 ppg and led the team with 25 vs the Hawks. Elgin Cook (14.5 ppg), Tyler Dorsey (13.7 ppg) and Chris Boucher (12.1 ppg) round out the double digit scorers on the team, while Boucher leads them in rebounding at 7.4 rpg.
