Best Champions League Bet: Arsenal ML at Napoli

Pick: Arsenal Moneyline -110 or Better
Decimal Odds: 1.91 or Better
Projected Score: Arsenal 2, Napoli 1

Arsenal gives us one of the most attractive combinations of team quality and betting price on Matchday 1.

The Gunners travel to Naples as only a small favorite.

Current prices are approximately -110 to -120, or about 1.83 to 1.91 decimal.

That is much more attractive than laying -500 or -700 with one of the elite home favorites elsewhere on the card.

Arsenal enters the matchup in strong form.

Recent results include a 3-0 victory against Manchester City, a 3-0 win against Coventry and a 1-0 road victory against Aston Villa.

Napoli remains extremely dangerous at home.

The Stadio Diego Armando Maradona creates one of Europe’s strongest atmospheres, and this is not a matchup where we expect Arsenal to dominate for 90 minutes.

But Napoli also enters with several personnel concerns.

That creates enough of an edge for us to back Arsenal at essentially an even-money price.

Real Madrid vs Inter Prediction

Pick: Both Teams to Score – YES

Real Madrid-Inter is arguably the biggest fixture of Tuesday’s opening Champions League slate.

Madrid is currently priced around -160 in the 1X2 market.

Inter is approximately +450, while the draw is available around +350.

Rather than simply laying the Madrid price, we prefer the goal market.

Both clubs enter Matchday 1 in excellent form.

Real Madrid has won its recent matches while scoring four goals against Málaga and four against Real Sociedad.

Inter also enters unbeaten during its recent run, including wins over Cagliari, Monza, Real Betis and Juventus.

That makes Inter dangerous enough that we do not want to assume Madrid keeps a clean sheet.

The Bernabéu should push Real Madrid forward, and Madrid has enough attacking quality to create chances against virtually any club in Europe.

At the same time, Inter has the organization and attacking quality necessary to score.

That makes Both Teams to Score – Yes our preferred market.

This is one of our favorite contrarian positions on Matchday 1.

Manchester City carries enormous public reputation.

That naturally causes bettors to expect goals whenever City appears on the schedule.

Porto has been playing very different football.

The Portuguese club enters this matchup after five consecutive victories without conceding a goal.

Recent Porto results include:

• 2-0
• 2-0
• 2-0
• 1-0

That defensive form deserves respect.

Manchester City is favored around -130 to win the match.

But instead of trying to decide whether City can break Porto down enough to justify the favorite price, we prefer betting on the match environment.

The market currently offers approximately +124 on Under 2.5 Goals.

That means bettors are receiving better than even money for a low-scoring result.

Porto has every incentive to avoid turning this into an open track meet against City.

Our projected final:

Porto 1, Manchester City 1.

Liverpool vs Atlético Madrid Prediction

Pick: Draw +300 or Better
Decimal Odds: 4.00 or Better
Projected Score: Liverpool 1, Atlético Madrid 1

Liverpool is currently approximately -135 to -145 at Anfield.

Atlético Madrid is roughly +350, while the draw pays around +300.

The market clearly believes Liverpool should control the match.

We believe the gap is smaller.

Liverpool has been inconsistent early in the season and enters Matchday 1 with several injury concerns.

Atlético comes in with stronger recent form.

Recent Atlético results include wins over Sevilla, Málaga and Marseille along with a draw against Villarreal.

Diego Simeone’s side is also extremely comfortable playing matches where it does not control possession.

That style can frustrate a Liverpool team expected to attack in front of the Anfield crowd.

Rather than taking Atlético outright, we prefer the draw at a substantially larger price.

At approximately +300, the implied probability is only around 25% before bookmaker margin.

We believe a close match occurs often enough to make that price attractive.

Barcelona is one of the largest favorites on the entire Matchday 1 board.

The standard moneyline is approximately -700 and can be even more expensive at certain sportsbooks.

We have no interest in risking $700 or more to win $100 on a football match.

Instead, we want to attack the scoring environment.

Barcelona enters Champions League play in explosive attacking form.

Recent results include:

Feyenoord’s recent matches have also produced goals.

Bayern Munich is currently approximately -600.

Again, we are not interested in laying that type of favorite price.

Bodø/Glimt has also been scoring at an exceptional rate.

That could create exactly the type of open match Bayern wants.

Best Champions League Value Bet

Porto-Manchester City Under 2.5 +124 is our favorite pure value position.

Manchester City’s reputation naturally pushes bettors toward goals.

But Porto enters after five consecutive clean sheets.

Receiving plus money on a low-scoring match gives us a true contrarian angle rather than simply betting the more famous club.

Best Champions League Favorite

Arsenal -110 or better at Napoli.

We prefer Arsenal because the price is close to even money rather than the enormous favorite prices attached to Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG.

Best Champions League Draw

Liverpool vs Atlético Madrid Draw +300.

Atlético’s tactical style gives it a realistic path to making this match frustrating and competitive for Liverpool.

Best Champions League Goals Bet

Bayern Munich-Bodø/Glimt Over 4.5 at +100 or better.

Both clubs enter with explosive recent scoring form.

Best Champions League High-Odds Bet

Barcelona-Feyenoord Over 4.5 at +140 or better.

Instead of laying -600 with Bayern Munich, we can attack Over 4.5 at approximately even money.
