CFL Betting: West Clash Pits Surprising Riders Against Contender Eskimos

The Saskatchewan Roughriders kicked off their 2012 campaign with a big victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last weekend, this time around they’ll look to add to the momentum with a Week 2 matchup against the Edmonton Eskimos.

Can the Roughriders offense, which erupted for 43 points in Week 1, continue to roll on the CFL odds? Despite Grey Cup futures that say otherwise, success in Saskatchewan may not be out of the question.

With 8/1 odds of winning the CFL championship this year (in a league with only eight teams), the Roughriders sit tied at the bottom of the pack. The Eskimos, in contrast, who finished in a knot for the top record in the West Division last season, have slightly better 15/2 CFL odds.

Both of course, pale in comparison to the BC Lions who lead the league at 3/1.

Expect Darian Durant to try and strike again for Saskatchewan, after throwing for 390 yards in his season debut. Whether the Edmonton defense will be able to stop him or not is the question bettors will have to ask themselves as they put their money on the game.

Think you know how the second week of CFL action will unfold?
