A huge game between the Mountain West Conference and the Big 12 will take place this afternoon. The Boise State Broncos look to continue their push for New Year’s 6 Bowl when they invade Boone Pickens Stadium to rumble with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. This contest kicks off at 3:30 PM ET. This will be the first-ever meeting between these teams.

Lines: Oklahoma State -2.5 … Over/Under 63.5

A Look At The Broncos

The Boise State Broncos have rolled out the gate with two very easy wins, but there is by far their biggest test yet and could be their biggest test of the year. They crushed Troy on the road by a score of 56-20 and then followed that up with a 62-7 destruction of Uconn last week. The Broncos are the best Non-Power five team in the nation and are probably better than a lot of Power Five teams. They have their sights set on getting a New Year’s 6 bowl and a win in this game could pretty much secure that as they should roll through their conference slate. Brett Rypien has been strong at the start as he has thrown for 667 yards with seven TDs and no INTs through two games.

Rypien will look to keep it going in this one against an OSU defense that has looked good in the early going. The real test in this game will be if their defense can stop the top offenses in the nation. The Broncos have been solid on defense so far but can they shut down this high-powered? If they don’t, then they could be in for a long afternoon.

A Look At The Cowboys

Oklahoma State has had some fun in their first two games, but now it gets real. The Cowboys beat Missouri State 58-17 in their opener and they followed that up with a 55-13 beatdown of South Alabama in their second game. Not exactly the cream of the crop. Still, this is a dangerous team with a dangerous offense and they will need that offense to perform well in this one as the Broncos will certainly get their points. Taylor Cornelius has had a solid start as he has thrown for 724 yards with six TDs and three INTs through his first two games.  He will need cut down on the mistakes as the Broncos will make him pay for them.

The defense has been strong so far as they have allowed just 237 ypg of total offense, including just 143 ypg through the air. They will not hold Rypien to just 143 yards in this game. That is a guarantee, but if they can slow him down enough then they have a real good shot of winning this game. The Cowboys have a slight edge on offense, while the Broncos have a slight edge on defense. This should be a good game.
