Best MLS Bet: Nashville SC at NYCFC
Pick: Nashville Moneyline
Target Price: 2.65 (+165) or Better
Projected Score: Nashville 2, NYCFC 0
This is one of the strangest prices on the entire MLS board.
Nashville enters the weekend as one of the strongest teams in Major League Soccer.
The club has lost only twice all season and owns one of the league’s best defensive records.
Yet Nashville is being priced as an underdog against New York City FC.
The primary reason is home-field advantage.
NYCFC is much more competitive at home, while Nashville has been almost unbeatable at its own stadium.
But Nashville has also demonstrated that it can win away from home.
Getting approximately +165 on the stronger overall club gives us enough value to accept the road environment.
Our projected final:
NYCFC 0, Nashville 2.
Rocketman MLS Pick: Nashville ML +165 or better.
Toronto FC vs Chicago Fire Prediction
Pick: Draw
Target Price: 3.85 (+285) or Better
Projected Score: 1-1
Toronto has become one of the draw-heavy teams in Major League Soccer.
The club has repeatedly taken one point rather than three, particularly at home.
Chicago has been the stronger overall team, but its road results also include several draws.
Instead of laying a short road price with Chicago or betting a struggling Toronto side outright, we prefer the third option.
At approximately +285, the draw provides a very attractive risk-to-reward profile.
Projected Score: Toronto 1, Chicago 1.
Rocketman Pick: Draw +285 or better.
Charlotte FC vs Houston Dynamo Prediction
Pick: Charlotte Moneyline
Target Price: 2.28 (+128) or Better
Projected Score: Charlotte 2, Houston 1
Charlotte has been considerably stronger at home than its plus-money price suggests.
The club has won seven times at home and enters after another clean-sheet victory.
Houston owns the stronger conference standing but has been much less consistent away from home.
That creates a situation where the overall table may be influencing the price more heavily than the venue-specific matchup.
At approximately +128, we prefer the home side.
Rocketman Pick: Charlotte ML +128 or better.
Inter Miami vs Atlanta United Prediction
Pick: Over 3.5 Goals
Target Price: 1.66 (-152) or Better
Projected Score: Inter Miami 4, Atlanta 1
Inter Miami is one of the largest favorites on the MLS board.
The problem is price.
The Miami moneyline ranges from roughly -260 to beyond -300.
We would rather attack how the match is likely to unfold.
Miami enters with one of the most explosive attacks in MLS.
Atlanta has also struggled defensively away from home.
Miami itself is capable of conceding, which increases the likelihood that four or more goals are scored.
Our projected final:
Miami 4, Atlanta 1.
Rocketman Pick: Over 3.5 at -152 or better.
Orlando City vs San Diego FC Prediction
Pick: Draw
Target Price: 4.15 (+315) or Better
Projected Score: 2-2
Orlando has enough attacking quality to create chances at home but has struggled badly defensively.
San Diego has been inconsistent on the road but has enough possession and technical ability to threaten Orlando’s back line.
With neither club offering enough trust to back outright, the draw at more than +300 becomes attractive.
Our projected score is:
2-2.
Rocketman Pick: Draw +315 or better.
Columbus Crew vs Colorado Rapids Prediction
Pick: Columbus Moneyline
Target Price: 2.00 (+100) or Better
Projected Score: Columbus 2, Colorado 1
Colorado’s overall standing looks considerably better than Columbus.
But Colorado has struggled badly away from home.
Columbus has also been much more competitive at home than its overall record suggests.
This is precisely why we separate venue splits from the league table.
At even money:
Rocketman Pick: Columbus ML +100 or better.
FC Cincinnati vs D.C. United Prediction
Pick: FC Cincinnati Moneyline
Target Price: 1.57 (-175) or Better
Projected Score: Cincinnati 3, D.C. United 1
Cincinnati has been difficult to beat at home and possesses considerably more attacking quality than D.C. United.
D.C.’s road performance has been one of its largest weaknesses.
The price is not cheap, but approximately -175 remains playable.
If the market moves beyond -200, the value decreases quickly.
Rocketman Pick: Cincinnati ML -175 or better.
Philadelphia Union vs CF Montréal Prediction
Pick: Under 3.5 Goals
Target Price: 1.68 (-148) or Better
Projected Score: Philadelphia 1, Montréal 0
Philadelphia is priced like an elite home team despite a relatively ordinary home record.
Montréal is difficult to trust after suffering a heavy defeat against Miami.
Instead of paying an inflated Philadelphia moneyline, we prefer the total.
Under 3.5 gives us protection against 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 and 1-1 type results.
Our projected final:
Philadelphia 1, Montréal 0.
Rocketman Pick: Under 3.5 at -148 or better.
Seattle Sounders vs New York Red Bulls Prediction
Pick: Seattle Moneyline
Target Price: 1.92 (-109) or Better
Projected Score: Seattle 1, New York 0
This projects as a lower-scoring match.
Seattle has struggled to produce goals consistently but remains difficult to beat at home.
The Red Bulls have not been convincing away from New York.
Rather than laying a large price, Seattle can still be found near even money.
Rocketman Pick: Seattle ML -109 or better.
FC Dallas vs Sporting Kansas City Prediction
Prediction: Dallas 2, Sporting KC 1
Dallas should win this match more often than not.
Sporting Kansas City has been one of the weakest road teams in MLS and has conceded goals at an alarming rate.
The issue is price.
Dallas has not been dominant enough at home to justify laying -230 to -270 as a standalone wager.
Rocketman Position: Dallas lean, but PASS at the current moneyline price. Dallas can be considered only as part of a carefully priced combination or if the number improves significantly.
Austin FC vs San Jose Earthquakes Prediction
Pick: San Jose Moneyline
Target Price: 2.80 (+180) or Better
Projected Score: San Jose 2, Austin 1
San Jose has quietly been one of the strongest road teams in the Western Conference.
Austin’s overall numbers remain poor, and its home-field advantage has not been enough to overcome its defensive problems.
Yet San Jose remains available near +180.
That is an attractive price for the team showing the stronger road profile.
Rocketman Pick: San Jose ML +180 or better.
LA Galaxy vs New England Revolution Prediction
Pick: Draw
Target Price: 3.85 (+285) or Better
Projected Score: 1-1
Neither side deserves a short favorite price.
The Galaxy has produced numerous draws at home.
New England has also shown enough defensive structure to make this difficult.
When two relatively even teams meet and neither owns a major matchup advantage, the draw becomes particularly interesting at nearly +300.
Rocketman Pick: Draw +285 or better.
Real Salt Lake vs LAFC Prediction
Pick: Real Salt Lake Moneyline
Target Price: 2.47 (+147) or Better
Projected Score: Real Salt Lake 2, LAFC 1
This may be the strongest home/road split disagreement on the MLS board.
Real Salt Lake has been excellent at home.
LAFC remains one of the league’s stronger clubs overall but has been much less effective away from Los Angeles.
Despite that, RSL is still the home underdog.
That price appears to place too much emphasis on LAFC’s overall reputation.
Our projected final:
Real Salt Lake 2, LAFC 1.
Rocketman Pick: RSL ML +147 or better.
Vancouver Whitecaps vs St. Louis City Prediction
Prediction: Vancouver 2, St. Louis 0
Vancouver has been one of the strongest clubs in MLS and is especially difficult to beat at BC Place.
The Whitecaps should win this matchup.
The problem is a moneyline approaching -250 to -280.
That is too expensive for our preferred standalone risk profile.
Rocketman Position: Vancouver is the likely winner but becomes a PASS as a standalone wager unless the price improves toward -225 or better.
Portland Timbers vs Minnesota United Prediction
Pick: Portland Moneyline
Target Price: 2.10 (+110) or Better
Projected Score: Portland 2, Minnesota 1
This is an important price-shopping matchup.
Some books have Portland priced as a favorite while others have offered plus money.
That difference matters.
Portland has been strong at Providence Park and possesses enough attacking ability to justify support at home.
But we want the plus-money version.
Rocketman Pick: Portland ML +110 or better. PASS if the market becomes significantly negative.

One of the strongest teams in MLS is being priced as an underdog against a much less consistent opponent.
Best MLS Home Underdog
Real Salt Lake +147 or better vs LAFC.
RSL’s home results are dramatically stronger than LAFC’s road results.
Best MLS Road Underdog
San Jose +180 or better at Austin.
San Jose has produced one of the strongest away records in the West while Austin has struggled overall.
Best MLS Draw Bet
Toronto FC vs Chicago Fire Draw +285 or better.
Toronto has repeatedly drawn home matches, and Chicago has also produced several road stalemates.
Best MLS Even-Money Bet
Columbus Crew +100 or better vs Colorado.
Colorado’s road performance is dramatically weaker than its home record, making Columbus more attractive than the overall standings suggest.

Why Home and Away Splits Matter in MLS
Major League Soccer features longer travel distances than most European domestic leagues.
Teams also play across different climates, surfaces and time zones.
That makes home and away performance especially important.
A club can look mediocre in the overall table while being extremely strong at home.
Real Salt Lake is an excellent example this week.
Likewise, a highly ranked club can become much less attractive when traveling.
That is why Rocketman Sports does not rely only on standings when making MLS predictions.
Betting Inter Miami
Inter Miami attracts enormous attention because of its star power and attacking ability.
That often creates extremely short moneyline prices.
Against Atlanta, Miami may be asked to win more than 70% of the time simply for a bettor to approach break-even at the listed price.
That does not mean we expect Miami to lose.
It means we may find better value through:
- Goal totals
- Team totals
- Asian Handicaps
- Both Teams to Score
This week, Over 3.5 is more attractive than laying approximately -300 on the Miami moneyline.
MLS 1X2 Betting
MLS Soccer markets use the same traditional 1X2 format found throughout world football.
1 = Home Win
X = Draw
2 = Away Win
The draw creates opportunities that do not exist in most traditional American moneyline markets.
MLS Draw Betting
Draw prices frequently range from +250 to +350.
That means bettors do not need to hit a high percentage of draw wagers to produce positive results.
But matchup selection remains essential.
Toronto-Chicago and LA Galaxy-New England are two examples this week where the teams’ tendencies and current pricing make the draw worth considering.
Betting Against Public Perception in MLS
Clubs such as Inter Miami, LAFC and several established MLS brands attract greater attention from recreational bettors.
That can occasionally create value on the other side.
Real Salt Lake against LAFC is a good example.
LAFC has the stronger national profile.
RSL has the better matchup-specific home/road situation.
