Ligue 1 Predictions: Matchweek 3 Betting Tips & Best Bets
French Ligue 1 Predictions – September 4-6, 2026
Looking for the best Ligue 1 predictions, French football betting tips and Matchweek 3 best bets? Rocketman Sports breaks down the remaining Ligue 1 fixtures with projected scores, current betting prices, 1X2 picks, goal totals and value-based Soccer analysis.
France’s top division provides an interesting betting market because Paris Saint-Germain attracts enormous worldwide attention while clubs such as Monaco, Marseille, Lyon, Lens and Rennes can provide value when the betting public focuses too heavily on the biggest name.
Rocketman Sports does not simply ask which club is most likely to win.
We ask:
Is the current price worth betting?
That difference matters.
A massive favorite may win most of the time and still provide poor betting value. A draw, goal total or overlooked underdog can sometimes offer a much stronger risk-to-reward opportunity.
Our Ligue 1 predictions use both American and decimal odds whenever practical so bettors worldwide can follow the analysis.

Best Ligue 1 Value Bet: PSG vs Monaco Draw
Pick: Draw
Target Price: 5.00 (+400) or Better
Projected Score: PSG 2, Monaco 2
This is exactly the type of matchup where public perception can create an opportunity.
Paris Saint-Germain is one of the biggest football brands in Europe and enters almost every domestic match attracting enormous betting support.
But PSG has not started this Ligue 1 campaign like an overwhelming favorite.
The Parisians opened with consecutive 2-2 draws.
Monaco has been much sharper.
Monaco enters Matchweek 3 with six points and consecutive clean sheets.
The club also defeated Marseille 2-0 in its most recent league match.
There is another important matchup consideration: Monaco has consistently caused PSG problems.
That does not mean we automatically bet Monaco outright.
The better risk-to-reward opportunity may be the draw.
PSG’s global reputation pushes the home moneyline down toward the -275 to -300 range while the draw can be found around +400.
Our projected final:
PSG 2, Monaco 2.
Rocketman Ligue 1 Pick: Draw at 5.00 (+400) or better.
Lyon vs Auxerre Prediction
Pick: Over 2.5 Goals
Target Price: 1.69 (-144) or Better
Projected Score: Lyon 3, Auxerre 1
Auxerre enters this match with the weakest defensive start in Ligue 1.
The club has lost its first two matches and conceded eight goals.
Lyon is unbeaten in league play and should have significant opportunities at home.
Lyon is also an expensive moneyline favorite.
Instead of laying close to -200 simply for Lyon to win, we prefer betting on the scoring environment.
Auxerre has shown enough attacking life to contribute a goal itself.
That makes 3-1 a logical scoring profile.
Our projected final:
Lyon 3, Auxerre 1.
Rocketman Pick: Over 2.5 at 1.69 (-144) or better.
Lens vs Lorient Prediction
Pick: Over 2.5 Goals
Target Price: 1.70 (-143) or Better
Projected Score: Lens 3, Lorient 1
Lens has already produced one of Ligue 1’s strongest attacking starts.
The club has scored six times through two matches.
Lens also returns home, where its recent performances have been considerably stronger.
Lorient has taken only one point from its first two games.
The standard Lens moneyline is priced around -200 or shorter.
We would rather avoid that heavy favorite price and attack Over 2.5.
Our projected score:
Lens 3, Lorient 1.
Rocketman Pick: Over 2.5 at 1.70 (-143) or better.
Le Havre vs Brest Prediction
Pick: Over 2.5 Goals
Target Price: 2.10 (+110) or Better
Projected Score: Le Havre 2, Brest 2
This may be one of the most interesting totals on the entire French card.
Brest has opened Ligue 1 with consecutive 2-2 draws.
The club has also been extremely aggressive going forward and is generating a large number of shots.
Le Havre has scored only once through two matches, which is why the market leans toward the Under.
But the price changes the equation.
Instead of laying significant juice on Under 2.5, bettors can receive approximately +110 on the Over.
We believe Brest’s attacking style gives the match a better chance of opening up than the market suggests.
Our projected final:
Le Havre 2, Brest 2.
Rocketman Pick: Over 2.5 at 2.10 (+110) or better.
Nice vs Le Mans Prediction
Pick: Draw
Target Price: 3.65 (+265) or Better
Projected Score: Nice 1, Le Mans 1
Nice is the favorite primarily because of home field and overall team reputation.
The results do not justify treating Nice as a trustworthy favorite yet.
Nice enters Matchweek 3 without a league goal and without a victory.
Le Mans has conceded goals but has also demonstrated much more attacking ambition.
Rather than paying around -115 to -120 with a Nice team that has not scored, the draw provides much more attractive value.
Our projected final:
Nice 1, Le Mans 1.
Rocketman Pick: Draw at 3.65 (+265) or better.
Troyes vs Strasbourg Prediction
Pick: Troyes Moneyline
Target Price: 3.00 (+200) or Better
Projected Score: Troyes 2, Strasbourg 1
Troyes has been one of the more interesting promoted clubs early in the season.
The club enters unbeaten with four points through two matches and has conceded only one goal.
Strasbourg rebounded with a victory over Lens but has not been nearly as convincing away from home.
The market still makes Strasbourg the favorite because it is the more established Ligue 1 side.
That gives us a home underdog around +200.
We are willing to take that price.
Our projected final:
Troyes 2, Strasbourg 1.
Rocketman Pick: Troyes ML at 3.00 (+200) or better.
Angers vs Rennes Prediction
Pick: Rennes Moneyline
Target Price: 1.87 (-115) or Better
Projected Score: Rennes 2, Angers 1
Rennes has opened with four points and five goals through two league matches.
The defense has not been perfect, but the attacking production gives Rennes an important advantage here.
Rennes also has an excellent recent matchup history against Angers.
The concern is road form.
That is why we do not want to chase Rennes if the price moves significantly beyond -120.
At approximately -115, there is enough value.
Our projected final:
Angers 1, Rennes 2.
Rocketman Pick: Rennes ML at 1.87 (-115) or better.
Marseille vs Paris FC Prediction
Pick: Draw
Target Price: 4.00 (+300) or Better
Projected Score: Marseille 1, Paris FC 1
This is another excellent public-perception matchup.
Marseille is one of the biggest names in French football and is playing at the Vélodrome.
That naturally attracts betting support.
Paris FC, however, has quietly opened the season unbeaten.
More importantly, Paris FC has not conceded a league goal.
Marseille was excellent in its opener but then lost 2-0 against Monaco.
The home side remains a reasonable favorite around -130 to -145.
Instead of automatically betting Marseille, we prefer taking advantage of the large draw price.
Paris FC has shown enough defensive organization to keep this competitive.
Our projected final:
Marseille 1, Paris FC 1.
Rocketman Pick: Draw at 4.00 (+300) or better.
Best Ligue 1 Bets for Matchweek 3
If we narrow the remaining French card to our strongest positions:
- PSG-Monaco Draw +400 or better
- Le Havre-Brest Over 2.5 +110 or better
- Troyes ML +200 or better vs Strasbourg
- Marseille-Paris FC Draw +300 or better
- Rennes ML -115 or better at Angers
- Lyon-Auxerre Over 2.5 -144 or better
Best Ligue 1 Value Bet
PSG-Monaco Draw +400 or better.
PSG’s reputation creates an enormous home-favorite price despite Monaco entering as the league’s only perfect team through two matches.
Best Ligue 1 Plus-Money Total
Le Havre-Brest Over 2.5 +110 or better.
Brest has played consecutive 2-2 matches, and the plus-money price makes the Over attractive.
Best Ligue 1 Underdog
Troyes +200 or better against Strasbourg.
Troyes enters unbeaten with a strong early defensive record but is still priced as a substantial home underdog.
Best Ligue 1 Favorite
Rennes -115 or better at Angers.
Rennes has scored five goals through its first two matches and remains available at a manageable road price.
Best Ligue 1 Draw Bets
Two draw prices stand out:
- PSG-Monaco Draw +400 or better
- Marseille-Paris FC Draw +300 or better
Both situations involve a famous home club attracting significant public attention against an opponent whose early results deserve more respect.

Betting Paris Saint-Germain
PSG will frequently be the largest favorite in French football.
The reason is obvious.
PSG possesses elite talent and one of the largest budgets in European football.
But bookmakers know that casual bettors want to back Paris Saint-Germain.
That means PSG can sometimes be priced much shorter than we are willing to pay.
When PSG is -300 or -400, we will often investigate:
- Asian Handicaps
- Goal totals
- Both Teams to Score
- Opponent + handicap markets
- The draw
Against Monaco this week, the draw gives us a far more interesting price than PSG’s standard moneyline.
Why Draw Betting Matters in Ligue 1
Soccer provides a third possible result that does not exist in most American moneyline betting markets.
That can create unusually large prices.
A +300 draw requires a much lower hit rate to break even than a -150 favorite.
The goal is not to bet draws simply because the payout is large.
The matchup must support it.
PSG-Monaco and Marseille-Paris FC both provide situations where the underdog is strong enough to challenge the favorite without necessarily needing to win outright.
Ligue 1 1X2 Betting
Traditional European football moneylines use the 1X2 format.
1 = Home Team Win
X = Draw
2 = Away Team Win
Understanding the draw is essential when comparing Soccer betting prices.
Ligue 1 Asian Handicap Betting
Asian Handicap betting modifies the standard three-way Soccer market.
Common lines include:
- +0.25
- +0.5
- +0.75
- +1
- -0.25
- -0.5
- -0.75
- -1
- -1.5
These markets can be especially useful when PSG, Monaco, Marseille or Lyon is too expensive on the standard 1X2 moneyline.
Ligue 1 Over/Under Betting
Goal totals allow us to bet the expected scoring environment without predicting the winner.
This week, Lyon-Auxerre and Lens-Lorient provide attractive Over possibilities.
Le Havre-Brest is even more interesting because the Over 2.5 can be found at plus money.
Betting Against Public Perception in French Football
PSG attracts more worldwide attention than every other French club.
Marseille, Monaco and Lyon also have strong international followings.
The popularity of those clubs can influence betting markets.
Rocketman Sports does not automatically fade popular clubs.
We look for situations where the available price may be charging bettors too much for the name on the shirt.
That is one reason the PSG-Monaco draw and Marseille-Paris FC draw are interesting this week.
How Rocketman Sports Makes Ligue 1 Predictions
Our French football handicapping process considers:
- Current form
- Home and road performance
- Scoring efficiency
- Defensive efficiency
- Expected goals
- Expected starting lineups
- Injuries and suspensions
- European competition
- Schedule congestion
- Recent matchup history
- Public perception
- Market movement
- Current betting price
The final betting price is critical.
A strong prediction does not automatically equal a strong bet if the sportsbook has already priced the outcome too aggressively.
