UFC Picks This Week: UFC Paris Best Bets & Predictions

UFC Paris – Hooker vs Parnasse – Saturday, September 5, 2026

Looking for the best UFC picks this week? Rocketman Sports breaks down UFC Paris with betting odds, matchup analysis and our strongest early MMA betting positions.

This week’s card is headlined by veteran lightweight Dan Hooker against highly regarded UFC newcomer Salahdine Parnasse in Paris, France.

The biggest mistake MMA bettors can make is simply choosing the fighter they believe will win without considering the betting price.

A fighter priced at -550 can be very likely to win and still offer poor value. Meanwhile, an underdog at +125 may only need to win slightly less than half the time to become an attractive wager.

That is the approach we are using for UFC Paris.

UFC Paris Picks – Quick Picks

Fight Rocketman Early Pick Betting Angle
Farès Ziam vs Axel Sola Axel Sola +125 or Better Best Value Underdog
Michael Page vs Nursulton Ruziboev Michael Page -175 or Better Best Main Card Favorite
Morgan Charriere vs Felipe Lima Felipe Lima -185 or Better Best Prelim Pick
Dan Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse Pass at Current Price Parnasse Too Expensive Near -550

UFC betting odds can change significantly during fight week. Always compare the available price with the recommended betting range before wagering.

Best UFC Bet #1: Axel Sola +125 vs Farès Ziam

Pick: Axel Sola +125 or Better

Axel Sola is our favorite value position on the UFC Paris card.

Sola enters with a professional record of 12-1-1 and has shown several different ways to win.

He owns six knockout victories and two submission wins, giving him legitimate finishing ability whether the fight remains standing or moves to the ground.

Sola also enters this matchup with momentum after submitting Ismael Bonfim by D’Arce choke in the first round of his previous appearance.

That performance was particularly encouraging because it demonstrated that Sola is not simply a striker.

His ability to transition between striking and grappling makes him dangerous against a technically sound opponent such as Farès Ziam.

Ziam deserves to be respected.

He has considerably more UFC experience and will also have the French crowd behind him.

But the betting market currently asks bettors to lay approximately -150 with Ziam while offering plus money on Sola.

That is where the wager becomes interesting.

We do not need Sola to be significantly better than Ziam.

At +125, we simply need his actual probability of winning to be higher than the probability implied by the sportsbook price.

We believe this matchup is much closer to 50-50 than the current market suggests.

Sola’s combination of athleticism, finishing ability and recent form gives him enough paths to victory to justify taking the underdog price.

Rocketman UFC Pick: Axel Sola +125 or Better

UFC Pick #2: Michael “Venom” Page -175 vs Nursulton Ruziboev

Pick: Michael Page -175 or Better

Michael “Venom” Page gives us one of the most fascinating style matchups on the card.

Page brings a 25-3 professional record into UFC Paris and has gone 4-1 since joining the UFC.

His only UFC loss came by decision against Ian Machado Garry, while Page has recorded victories over Kevin Holland, Shara Magomedov, Jared Cannonier and Sam Patterson.

That is an impressive level of competition.

Page’s unusual striking style is the biggest reason we favor him.

His movement, distance management and timing make opponents uncomfortable because they rarely get the conventional striking exchanges they expect.

Ruziboev is extremely dangerous.

His record includes more than 30 career finishes, with both knockout power and submission ability.

That means Page cannot simply stand directly in front of him and trade.

Fortunately, that has never been Page’s approach.

MVP’s style is built around avoiding conventional exchanges, forcing opponents to chase and punishing mistakes from long range.

We also like the fact that Page has already demonstrated that his style can translate against legitimate UFC middleweights.

At approximately -175, the price is not cheap, but we believe Page’s experience, movement and ability to control distance justify favoritism.

We would not chase this into the -220 range.

Rocketman UFC Pick: Michael Page -175 or Better

UFC Pick #3: Felipe Lima -185 vs Morgan Charriere

Pick: Felipe Lima -185 or Better

Felipe Lima is our preferred prelim selection.

Lima brings a 14-2 professional record into the matchup and owns four knockout victories and three submission wins.

He has shown the ability to fight at a high pace and remain dangerous in multiple areas.

Morgan Charriere will have one of the biggest home-crowd advantages on the entire card.

That matters, but it can also influence public perception.

Home fighters often attract additional attention because bettors naturally want to back the fighter receiving the loudest reaction from the crowd.

We are more interested in the matchup than the atmosphere.

Lima’s pressure, athleticism and ability to threaten in multiple phases give him an advantage in a fight that could become difficult for Charriere if he is forced to defend continuously.

The current price near -185 is approaching the upper end of what we want to pay.

If Lima moves beyond -200, we would become much more cautious.

At -185 or better, we still believe there is enough value to include him on the card.

Rocketman UFC Pick: Felipe Lima -185 or Better

UFC Paris Main Event: Dan Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse

Current Lean: Parnasse to Win
Betting Recommendation: Pass at approximately -550

The main event provides a perfect example of the difference between predicting a winner and finding a good bet.

Salahdine Parnasse enters his UFC debut with a 23-2 professional record.

He has eight knockout victories and seven submission wins, giving him an extremely well-rounded finishing profile.

Parnasse is also fighting at home in France and enters the UFC with considerable expectations.

Dan Hooker provides exactly the type of experienced test the UFC often uses to determine whether an elite newcomer is immediately ready for the lightweight rankings.

Hooker has competed against some of the best fighters in the division and brings tremendous toughness and high-level experience.

We agree that Parnasse deserves to be favored.

Our issue is the price.

At approximately -550, a bettor must risk $550 to win $100.

That leaves very little room for error in a sport where one punch, submission attempt or scramble can end a fight.

Hooker’s experience makes that type of price particularly uncomfortable.

We would rather pass than lay a massive favorite simply because we expect him to win.

Rocketman Main Event Position: Parnasse should win, but PASS at -550.

Could Dan Hooker Be Worth a Small Underdog Bet?

Hooker is currently available around +400.

That is unquestionably a much more interesting price than laying -550.

However, plus money by itself does not create value.

Parnasse enters with considerable advantages in youth, momentum and overall versatility.

We would classify Hooker +400 as an aggressive longshot rather than one of our official best bets.

Why Axel Sola Is Our Best UFC Value Bet

Sola +125 combines several things we look for in an MMA wager:

  • Plus-money price
  • Multiple paths to victory
  • Recent finishing ability
  • Strong athletic upside
  • A matchup we believe is closer than the betting line suggests

The purpose of identifying value is not to find the fighter most likely to win on the entire card.

Parnasse is far more likely to win his fight than Sola.

But Parnasse costs approximately -550 while Sola pays plus money.

Those are completely different betting propositions.

Best UFC Underdog This Week

Axel Sola +125 is our favorite underdog on UFC Paris.

We believe his fight with Ziam is closer than the market price implies.

Sola’s 12-1-1 record, finishing ability and recent submission win make him particularly appealing at plus money.

Best UFC Favorite This Week

Michael “Venom” Page -175 is our preferred favorite.

Page is 4-1 in the UFC and has already defeated several difficult opponents.

His unusual distance striking should create problems for Ruziboev if Page can keep the fight in the type of range he prefers.

UFC Favorite to Avoid This Week

Salahdine Parnasse at approximately -550 is the favorite we are avoiding at the current price.

This does not mean we are picking Dan Hooker to win.

It means the sportsbook is charging too much for us to comfortably back Parnasse.

There is an enormous difference between:

“I think this fighter wins.”

and:

“I think this is a profitable bet at this price.”

Successful sports betting requires making that distinction.

How We Handicap UFC Picks This Week

UFC handicapping is much more complicated than simply comparing each fighter’s professional record.

Rocketman Sports evaluates several important areas.

Striking

We look at accuracy, defense, power, movement, reach and the ability to control distance.

Wrestling

Takedown offense and defense can completely change a matchup.

An elite striker who cannot remain standing may lose significant value against a strong wrestler.

Submission Game

Submission ability is particularly important when a fighter regularly creates scrambles or gains dominant ground positions.

Cardio

A fighter who looks excellent for five minutes but fades badly in later rounds can become vulnerable in longer fights.

Competition

A 15-0 record does not automatically mean a fighter is better than someone who is 12-5.

The quality of the opponents matters enormously.

Betting Price

This is ultimately what converts a prediction into a wager.

We can correctly identify the better fighter and still make a poor bet if we pay too much.

UFC Betting Against Public Perception

UFC markets can be heavily influenced by reputation.

Popular fighters frequently attract casual betting attention because fans recognize their names.

Home fighters can also receive additional public support when an event takes place in their country.

That does not mean we automatically fade popular or hometown fighters.

It means we ask whether the betting line has become more expensive than the fighter’s actual probability of winning justifies.

Axel Sola is interesting precisely because he is an underdog in an all-French matchup where the more experienced UFC fighter, Ziam, naturally attracts support.
