Sports Watch Monitor Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

I will be taking a few days off, thus I thought I would stick with the NFL for the weekend. I will be basing the line moves on the present numbers, which could change in the hours and days ahead. This article will return next Wednesday. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (85-66 L38D)

NFLX – (401) JACKSONVILLE at (402) CHICAGO  8:00 E  ESPN

Both these teams won and covered last week, but even without most of the starters playing, Chicago displayed an awesome passing attack with 399 yards in the victory. This helped sportsbooks to release the Bears at -4 but as of this morning, they are down to -3. Among the various reasons could be Jacksonville is 11-3 ATS on the road after a home game. Another could be the comfort factor, with Chicago just 1-11 SU and against the number playing at Soldier Field after playing there the week prior. SWM Take – Lean Jacksonville

NFLX – Friday – (407) DETROIT at (408) OAKLAND  10:00 E  WYXZ7,KTVU

Oakland might be in for yet another long season, but based on reports with them scrimmaging against Dallas this week, at least they might be a bit feistier this season. The Raiders offense was as feeble as ever in a 10-6 loss at Minnesota, but football bettors are anticipating a better showing at home with coach Dennis Allen needing to find better play and wins, even in August. The Raiders have blossomed from a -1 to -2.5-point favorite. First-year Detroit coach Jim Caldwell has shown in the past he is more interested in preparing his team for the regular season than victories this month. Also, curious to find when the Lions have a positive preseason record, are road underdogs, facing a foe off a loss; they are 2-14 ATS. SWM Take – Oakland covers

NFLX – Saturday – (411) GREEN BAY at (412) ST. LOUIS  4:00 E  NFLN

Each of these NFC squads lost their opener, but NFL bettors feel the home team will be more motivated to win and cover. St. Louis has been moved 1.5-points to -3 in their contest against Green Bay. Both teams ran the ball effectively last week in averaging 4.1 yards a carry or better, but the Rams were vulnerable to the New Orleans passing attack last week and will see Aaron Rodgers and the Packers cast Saturday. Going to go against the public, believing the Pack playing with more focus and win the game outright. SWM Take – Green Bay wins

NFLX – Saturday – (413) N.Y. GIANTS at (414) INDIANAPOLIS  7:00 E  NBC4NY, WNDY

The Giants are 2-0 SU and ATS and have gathered followers who have taken them from +3 to +1.5. Reports out of the New York have a much more focused squad this summer, looking to make amends for last year and be a factor in the NFC East. Indianapolis on the other hand is an overwhelming favorite in the AFC South and might well be more interested in preparation for the regular season than worrying about W’s. Coach Tom Coughlin teams are 9-1 ATS after two or more SU preseason victories. SWM Take – New York wins
