The Oklahoma Sooners enter this game at 28-7 on the year and they made it to the Elite 8 by beating Bakersfield by 14, VCU by 4 and Texas A&M by 14. The Sooners are rolling and are looking for their first trip to the Final Four since the 2000-01 season. The Sooners have been led by their offense for most of the year, but it was their defense that had a superb game vs the Aggies as they held them to just 34.4% shooting overall and just 21.4% from long range. The win over the Aggies was their first cover in their last 8 games and #2 seeds are just 3-10-1 ATS in this round if they are off a DD ATS win, plus we note that the Big 12 is on an 0-11 ATS run in this round. Oklahoma is led by Buddy Hield, who averages 25.1 ppg and he has averaged 26.7 ppg during the tournament so far. Jordan Woodard led the attack vs the Aggies with 22 points and he is 2nd on the team in scoring (13.0 ppg). Isaiah Cousins (12.8 ppg) and Ryan Spangler (10.5 ppg) round out the double digit scorers on the team, while Spangler is the team’s leading rebounder at 9.3 rpg. The Sooners are a very good offensive team as they come in ranked 21st in scoring, putting up 80.5 ppg, 65th in shooting overall, 2nd in from three-ball land and 96th from the charity stripe. On defense they are 140th in points allowed, giving up 70.5 ppg, while also ranking 41st in defensive FG% overall and 113th in 3-point defense. The Sooners are 55th in the nation in rebounding, while they commit 12.9 turnovers per game (202nd) and force 12.7 turnovers per game (157th).

The Oregon Ducks strong year continues after beating Duke by 14 in the Sweet 16 to advance to the Elite 8 for the first time since the 2006-07 season. The last three times the Ducks made it this far they have lost and they will now be looking to make it to the Final Four for the first time in 77 years. This is the best Oregon team in a long time they have now won their last 11 games in a row, but they will be taking on a very strong Oklahoma team that is more than capable of knocking them off. The Ducks are led by Dillon Brooks, who averages 17.0 ppg and led the team with 25 vs the Hawks and 22 vs the Blue Devils. Chris Boucher is the team’s rebounding leader at 7.3 rpg, while chipping in with 12.0 ppg. Elgin Cook (14.6 ppg), Tyler Dorsey (13.5 ppg) round out the double digit scorers on the team. The Ducks are a strong offensive team that ranks 41st in scoring, putting up 79.0 ppg, while also ranking 43rd in shooting overall and 117th from the charity stripe, but they struggle from long range, where they are 166th. On defense the Ducks have been decent as they come in ranked 89th in the nation in points allowed, giving up just 68.5 ppg, while also ranking 103rd in defensive FG% overall, but they struggle at defending the arc where they are 246th. Oregon is 149th in the nation in rebounding, while committing just 11.1 turnovers per game (44th) and forcing 14.0 turnovers per game (61st).
