Atalanta is in great form at the moment, they have won their last five games on the bounce in all competitions and seven of their last eight, the last time they lost a game was back in December away at Bologna. Atalanta at home is also a formidable outfit recently, winning their last six Serie A home games, they are now fourth in the standings and will be desperate to maintain that position considering it is a Champions League position. They are on the same points as fifth-placed Bologna and so you can see why they simply cannot entertain dropping points, especially at home against a team in a relegation battle 22 points below them. Sassuolo have had a disappointing season, they have lost five of their last six away games in the league and their last four on the bounce, with only a draw at fellow relegation strugglers Udinese a positive. In that sequence, they lost by two goals against Bologna and Juventus, they are not in good form at all at this moment in time. We have a team in Atalanta in brilliant form at home playing a team in freefall who cannot buy an away point at the moment and it all points to a win for the home side and a comprehensive one at that. Take Atalanta to cover the spread.

Not so long ago this would have been considered a titanic battle between two Premier League heavyweights but that is no longer the case with City being the world's best club team according to the latest OPTA statistics and Chelsea a poor tenth in the Premier League. City have won their last 11 games in all competitions, they are an absolute machine and at home are almost unbeatable winning their last five home games on the bounce and each one by at least two goals. Chelsea, despite spending over $1.3 billion over the last two seasons on players is basically a mid-table team, they are not anywhere near the quality of Man City and even though the Blues do get the odd decent result against the traditional top six sides in England they have not come up against City in this form this season. City are steamrolling everyone in their path and they will be looking to send a message to the rest of the league with a statement win and that is what I expect them to do. Take City to cover the spread.

Juventus have seen their title challenge unravel over the last few weeks, they have dropped seven points in their last three league games and now find themselves ten points behind leaders Inter Milan, any hope they have of winning the title will completely evaporate if they fail to win this game and I fully expect them to bounce back from their recent travails. Juve may be the away side but they are far better than third-bottom Verona, who are firmly in a relegation battle and even with home advantage lack the required quality to stop Juventus, providing that Juve play to their qualities. It should also be noted that Juventus have to keep on picking up points if they are to maintain a top-four spot and a place in next season's Champions League and anything less than a win and that target will be in danger. Take Juventus to cover the spread.

Tottenham are in fourth position in the Premier League, which is a Champions League qualification spot and they will be desperate to maintain that position. Tottenham will be looking both upwards and downward in the standings, they are five points behind bitter local rivals Arsenal in third and seven behind leaders Man City, they will have slim hopes of closing that gap, however, they are just one point above Aston Villa and six points ahead of Man Utd and they have to keep those two teams at bay. So you can see the importance of a win for Spurs and they do have home advantage as well, they also have an almost fully fit squad though they have had late injuries to their two fullbacks but that should not be enough to stop them. They did lose at Wolves earlier in the season but that was at a time when they were riddled with injuries and suspensions and Wolves only got the win with two very late goals, additionally, Wolves have been very hit-and-miss recently. Taking everything into consideration I am going for Tottenham to win and cover the spread.

This is not a game that Liverpool can drop points in considering the three-way battle that is currently taking place in the Premier League. The Reds have only lost twice in the league this season, they are currently top of the table by two points from Man City, who have a game in hand and if they are to maintain their position they cannot be losing to a team currently 14th, even if they are the away team. Brentford have been inconsistent all season and even though they have Ivan Toney back, they are still a fairly limited side. Considering the circumstances of this game I cannot see anything other than a Liverpool win. Take Liverpool to cover the spread.

Top of Serie A Inter Milan welcome bottom side Salernitana and while the spread has been set quite high, Inter are more than capable of covering it. The spread has been set at 2 goals, however, Inter has beaten that sort of spread regularly this season when they are at home, for example, they beat AC Milan 5-1, Fiorentina 4-0, Udinese 4-0 and on other occasions have won by two clear goals, which in this instance would see your stakes returned. However, Salernitana is the very worst team that Inter have faced this season and if there was ever a team they will beat comfortably, it is Salernitana. The away side have lost seven of their eleven away games in Serie A this season and when they have played what you would consider a top team they have lost by more than two goals twice from four games but again, they have not played a team as good as Inter. All things considered, I expect Inter to win this game with ease and I would be surprised if it is not by at least two goals and more likely by more. This is what I regard as a safety first pick.

I am confident that Torino will have enough firepower to defeat Lecce today in Serie A and cover the spread. Torino is tenth, nine points above 13th-placed Lecce and while that is not a significant gap, the respective home and away form is. For example, at home this season Torino has lost just once and that was against runaway leaders Inter Milan, they have won five and drawn five, they are fairly solid at home even though they do draw regularly but those draws have tended to be against teams with half decent away records. Lecce has zero wins on the road and has lost their last five Serie A away games, scoring just once in those five games. In all fairness to Lecce, those five most recent losses have been against good teams, at least four of those five are at the top end of the standings, however, it shows where their morale is right now. In fact, Lecce has just one win in their last eight league games, they are not a team in good shape right now. Considering how strong Torino is at home and how weak Lecce is on the road I am confident that Torino will grab the win today.

The only result I see coming out of this game is a home win for AC Milan. This is a Europa League playoff game and AC Milan will be desperate to take a clear lead to France for the second leg and so it is imperative for them to get the win at their stadium today. Rennes are in form, they have bounced back from a poor start to the season and are now on an eight-game winning run in all competitions but at no stage have they played away at a team of the caliber of AC Milan. Milan is also in good form, they have steadily moved up the table in Italy and are very close to taking the second spot from Juventus, they will be keen to keep their momentum going. It should be an entertaining game but the quality of AC Milan should shine through and I expect them to get the win.

I expect to see goals in this Europa League playoff match and it has more to do with the context of the game as opposed to recent statistics. Feyenoord have not been prolific in front of goal recently but they have been strong defensively and that has seen them pick up wins, however, they are playing a team in Roma that, under new management, has started to play much more open attacking football. Roma did lose at home at the weekend but that was against the best club in Italy and even though they did lose they still put two goals past the Inter Milan defence, not something many teams have done this season. I am convinced that Roma will score, it is how they play now and that will force Feyenoord to go for goal, the Dutch side cannot afford not to take a lead to Rome for the second leg. The circumstances of this game and how both teams play have given me the confidence to back over 2.5 goals.

I believe that the totals on this game have been set far too low and I will explain why. Las Palmas last six La Liga games have had at least two goals in them with four of those games having at least three goals. Valencia have been hit and miss but recently they have hit a semblance of form and three of their last five La Liga games have had at least three goals in them. Las Palmas have scored in their last six home games so it is reasonable to expect them to find the back of the net at least once and Valencia have scored at least once in six of their last eight away games in La Liga. I can see both sides scoring and at least one of them scoring at least twice and that is why I am going over 2 goals in this game.

This game could go either way but regardless of who wins, I am very confident we will see an abundance of goals. Newcastle have seen at least three goals in six of their last seven games in all competitions and only last week they drew 4-4 with Luton Town. Forest are also not strangers to games with goals, five of their last six Premier League games have had at least three goals in them. With Forest at home, I expect them to have a proper go and Newcastle will see this as a game they should be winning so they will also be attack minded. Considering all aspects of this game I am backing over 2.75 goals.

This is a huge game in the Bundesliga and one that could turn out to be a defining moment. If Leverkusen wins they will go five points clear of Bayern, whereas if Bayern win they will go above Leverkusen in the standings. Add to that scenario the fact that Bayern have the league's top goal scorer in Harry Kane and Leverkusen has not lost a single game in any competition this season and the scene is set for a classic. These two are the top scorers in the Bundesliga this season with Bayern averaging almost three goals per game and Leverkusen not too far behind. When these two met at the start of the season it ended 2-2 and I see very little reason that it will be any different in terms of goals this time. Take over 3 goals.

Brighton stuffed Tottenham 4-2 earlier in the season but that was under very different circumstances. For starters, this game is at Tottenham and secondly, they now have a nearly fully fit squad available, that was not the case in the earlier meeting between the pair. Also, Brighton does not have the best away record, for example, just a few weeks back they lost 4-0 away at Luton Town. Two teams going in very different directions. Sheffield United are sinking faster than a rock in water while Luton is surprising many with their upturn in form. Considering the form of both sides and Luton having home advantage and only recently beating Sheffield I am backing Luton to win and cover the spread.

This game can go in a variety of ways but one thing I am sure of, is that there will be goals. Man City could easily win this one 4-0 or even more but at the same time Everton could spring a surprise and get on the scoresheet, they have done so against the big teams on numerous occasions this season and that is why the spread is a little tricky. Either way, I do expect City to win and win comprehensively but with the possibility of Everton scoring the safest bet is over 3.25 goals.

Borussia Dortmund have been fairly inconsistent this season but has finally started to pick up their form with three wins and two draws in their last five Bundesliga matches and they needed to if they want to make Champions League football next season. Dortmund are currently fourth with RB Leipzig breathing down their necks, they simply must win this game, especially being at home. Freiburg are not doing so badly by their standards, they are seventh and are also in the running for a European spot, albeit not the Champions League but that does not mean they will not be motivated, they will be. That said, their recent form in the league has taken a dip with just one win in their last five Bundesliga games thus presenting us with two teams going in different directions presently. The form is with Dortmund, they are at home and that is enough for me to back them to get the win. The only issue was, will they cover the spread? I believe they will. Take Dortmund to cover the spread.

Massive game in Serie A with first playing second and I am of the opinion that Juventus will leave Milan with at least a point and will therefore be backing them on the spread. Inter and Juve played out a draw in the first league game between the pair this season and it would not surprise me if we see something similar happen today. I can go through all the stats but they sort of cancel each other out, Inter are formidable at home, Juventus the same on the road and so a case can be made for both teams to get the win and that is why this game is all about the eye test for me. I have watched almost every Juventus game this season and most of Inter's as well and I cannot separate either of them and I was tempted to go for the draw but the safety net of backing Juventus to win or draw was the better option. Of course, Inter, who are top and at home could emerge as the winners, they certainly have some advantages but Juventus are just as determined as their opponents and I see a very tight game unfolding here today and these are the sort of games that Juventus thrive in. Take Juventus +0.5

This is a huge game in the race for the Premier League title and it is Liverpool I am backing not to lose this game. The Reds are top and could go eight points clear with a win at the Emirates today, they have lost just once all season and that was a very controversial loss at Tottenham, they have already beaten Arsenal at the Emirates in the FA Cup and are coming off a 4-1 demolition job of Chelsea earlier in the week. Arsenal are a formidable team, they did hold Liverpool to a draw at Anfield earlier in the season, and they will close the gap to just two points with a win, they have a vastly improved team over the last season and a half, and they have even broken their poor run of results against Man City and will feel confident they can beat Liverpool today. So we have two very good and strong teams both capable of winning and this pick is all about judgement for me, I just do not see Liverpool losing, I am confident they will get something from this game. Takle Liverpool +0.25

I missed the boat on this one slightly, the overs were set at 2.75 on Saturday and I should have put my pick up then but I am still confident that we will see at least three goals in this game, with the likelihood of there being more very high. Both these sides know how to score and both leak goals as well, for example, four of Man Utd's last six games in all competitions have seen at least four goals in them and five of West Ham's last eight away games in the league have had at least four goals in them. These are selective stats of course but the point is that we have two teams here that are no strangers to games with an abundance of goals in them. Then throw in that both teams have not given up on a top-four spot this season, even if that is unlikely and we have all the ingredients for a game full of goals. Take over 3 goals

I believe the overs have been set too low on this one and will be taking the over 2.25 goals available. Four of Torino's last six home games have had at least three goals in them and four of Salernitana's last six away games have also had at least three goals. Then throw in context, Torino are only four points adrift of a European spot and while it is an uphill task for them to qualify for Europe this season, they certainly have not given up hope. Salernitana are rock bottom and are desperate for points, they will likely be relegated but I doubt they have accepted their fate just yet. Both teams certainly have something to play for and only goals will help them achieve their respective targets. Take over 2,25 goals.

The dynamics of this fixture have undergone a substantial transformation from earlier in the season. Previously, PSV would have been a clear favorite for me, given their exceptional form in the league – winning 18 and drawing just one out of their 19 league games, an outstanding record by any measure. However, recent developments suggest that chinks in PSV's armor are becoming apparent. Their relentless winning streak was halted two games ago with a draw against Utrecht, and a subsequent defeat to Feyenoord in the domestic cup tournament underscores a deviation from their earlier dominance. In concise terms, PSV has secured only one victory in their last three domestic fixtures, indicating a potential slowing down of their once unstoppable momentum. Contrastingly, Ajax, who faced significant challenges earlier in the season, including managerial changes and fan unrest, have staged a noteworthy comeback. They have ascended rapidly in the league standings, currently occupying the fifth position, and are poised to secure a higher standing in the coming weeks. Ajax's resurgence is reflected in an impressive 11-game unbeaten streak in the league, comprising nine wins and two draws. Taking into consideration the altered trajectories of both teams, Ajax's home advantage, and the fact that PSV's dominance has waned in recent fixtures, I am going with Ajax not to lose. Take Ajax +0.5

This particular match is one that I identified early on as an overs match. The rationale behind this preference is straightforward – the fact that when these two teams have played in this competition their games tend to be over 1.75 goals. My expectation for this game is a minimum of two goals. The basis for my reasoning is grounded in the cumulative performance of both teams in this competition. In the eight games they have collectively participated in, 75% of them have witnessed at least two goals. This statistical tendency also extends to the individual performance of each team. It is also pertinent to note that the knockout stages often prompt a shift in team momentum, particularly if a team falls behind. The dynamics of this game are anticipated to transform with the occurrence of a goal. This shift is likely to influence the game positively in terms of goal production, especially given the tournament hosts' status held by Côte d'Ivoire. All things considered, I am going over 1.75 goals.

This fixture is commonly referred to as the M23 derby due to the connection facilitated by the freeway between the two sides. The influence of home advantage is a pivotal factor, and in this instance, Brighton holds that advantage. Brighton encountered a significant setback in their recent match, suffering a 4-0 defeat away at Luton. Despite this, it is reasonable to regard that result as an aberration, with Brighton possessing a superior quality that surpasses the implications of that particular match. Anticipating a recovery, I fully expect Brighton to rebound convincingly against the Eagles. While Palace secured a victory in their last outing against the bottom-placed Sheffield United, the circumstances are nuanced. Palace found themselves trailing twice in that match, and considering Sheffield's lamentable season, the significance of that win may not be as commendable as perceived by some. In my assessment, Brighton holds the advantage in this encounter. They are playing on their home turf, motivated to redeem themselves from the Luton defeat and boast superior qualities with a more adept managerial presence compared to Palace. Take Brighton to cover the spread.

This prediction involves a certain level of complexity. Upon analyzing the table and the recent form, Tottenham appears to be the more favorable option. However, Everton possesses the ability to defeat almost any opponent at Goodison Park, particularly when backed by their enthusiastic crowd. Nevertheless, Tottenham also can dominate Everton, as reflected by their current standing in fourth place. If compelled to select a victor, Tottenham emerges as the superior team; however, the formidable nature of Everton's performance at home, on occasions, cannot be dismissed. A more convincing assertion lies in the likelihood of both teams conceding goals. Everton exhibits vulnerability in defense, and Tottenham consistently demonstrates a goal-scoring prowess. Notably, Tottenham's defense has been susceptible to conceding goals throughout the season. Consequently, the more prudent wager, in my opinion, would be to opt for the over in terms of goals. Take over 2.75 goals.

It is very difficult to see anything other than an Athletico Bilbao win on Friday in Spain. Bilbao lost their opening home game of the season against Real Madrid, since then they have won eight and drawn twice and five of those wins came with a two-goal margin. Mallorca has just one win from their 11 road games this season and you have to go back to April of last season for their previous win away from home. Now, they do not always lose by two clear goals but of all their losses since last April on the road, 50% have been by at least two goals. I fully expect Bilbao to register the win and I believe that there is more chance of them winning by two goals and covering the spread than there is of them winning by just a single goal, which would see stakes returned. This is a pick that provides an excellent safety net. Take Athletico Bilbao -1

Australia is set to face South Korea in a crucial Asian Cup quarter-final match, and I am confident that the total has been underestimated. I anticipate a minimum of three goals in this game. Thus far in the competition, only one of Australia's matches has concluded with less than two goals. In contrast, South Korea's games have witnessed at least two goals, with three out of their four matches featuring a minimum of three goals. If the game concludes with just two goals, the stake will be returned. Notably, there have been at least two goals in 7 out of the 8 matches involving these two teams in the tournament. This statistical trend serves as a robust safety net, further emphasized by the fact that 50% of these games have seen a minimum of three goals. Moreover, considering the context of the match, both teams are motivated to avoid extra time. While the initial phases of the game may be cautious, the moment a goal is scored, the dynamics are likely to shift, leading to more open play. Australia has consistently found the net in every game, amassing 8 goals, while South Korea has also scored in each match, accumulating 9 goals. Taking all these factors into consideration, the prevailing indicators strongly suggest a goal-rich encounter, making an "over 2 goals" prediction a highly secure wager.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to predict what sort of Man Utd we will see, they can draw 0-0 with Liverpool when they are expected to be battered but then go and lose to West Ham, then beat Aston Villa and follow that up with a loss to Nottingham Forest, they are certainly not consistent. Wolves have been more consistent recently, they are unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions and unbeaten in their last four Premier Leagues, registering three wins in the sequence. That said, if United finally click into action they could get something from this game and they do have the players to beat Wolves, by the same token, Wolves are more than capable of beating United, therefore, backing either team on the spread or outright is fraught with risk for me, What is not risky in my view is the overs, United allowed Newport County to score twice against them, that alone shows how vulnerable their defence is and I simply cannot see them keeping a clean sheet in this match. The same applies to Wolves when they play a traditional top-six side, they tend to concede, even when they win and that is how I am approaching this game, both teams to concede and I am very confident that we will see at least one of these two scoring twice. Take over 2.5 goals

I cannot see anything other than a Liverpool win today at Anfield. Chelsea has been getting results recently and they do tend to perform better against rival top-six clubs but it is a whole different ball game when going away to Liverpool. The Reds currently sit on top of the standings and with emotions running high following the news that their manager Jurgen Klopp will leave at the end of the season you can expect a raucous crowd and that tends to make a difference. Chelsea is not a strong side, they are developing and will no doubt get better as time goes on but as things stand today, Liverpool is the better side, they have lost just once all season in the league, the notorious game against Spurs and with Man City hot on their heels, they know nothing but a win will do today. The return of Ivan Toney for Brentford adds an extra dimension to this game and possibly makes it more competitive but I would still be surprised if Spurs do not win this match. Brentford won last time out with Toney scoring but that was at home and even with their talisman back, they are still a very average side. Tottenham lost 1-0 at home to champions Man City in the FA Cup at the weekend in a very lacklustre performance, I fully expect them to bounce back knowing that a win will put them back inside the top four. Analysis is minimal as I am currently on a mini-vacation I was initially going to back Morrocco -1 on the spreads, which means for the bet to win they would have to win by 2 clear goals, if South Africa was to score then Morrocco would need to score 3 and so on, however, when I saw that the total had been set at just 2 goals I soon pivoted to that bet. The reason is simple, going over 2 goals provides a safety net that backing Morrocco on the spread just does not provide. The bottom line is that Morrocco have to score twice and I think they will and backing the overs covers South Africa scoring. Take over 2 goals
