12-22-15 | Iowa State v. Cincinnati -4.5 | 81-79 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 17 m | Show
Iowa State at Cincinnati 7:00 ET Bearcats (-) over Cyclones- No. 9 ranked Iowa State is coming off their first loss of the season as Northern Iowa ambushed them 81-79 on Saturday. One thing that happens when a team loses their first game of the season is that they realize that they are not invincible and their confidence take a hit. Like the Cyclones who lead the nation in fewest four per game (14.3), Cincinnati prides itself on their defense as they allow just 59.4 points per game which is 12th nationally. This is Iowa State's first true road game of the season and that always is a bit of a shock to the system. Take the BEARCATS! |
12-19-15 | Princeton +12.5 v. Maryland | 61-82 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 10 m | Show
Princeton at Maryland 7:00 ET Tigers (+) over Terrapins- No. 7 Maryland will host the basketball pride of the Ivy League on a neutral site the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. Now, there is no way I am looking to compare the Tigers with the Terrapins but they are a smart team that won't give up while Maryland can't be taking a school from the Ivy's seriously. Look for the Tigers to scrap and claw its way to a point-spread victory. Take PRINCETON! |
12-19-15 | Notre Dame v. Indiana -117 | Top | 73-80 | Win | 100 | 5 h 53 m | Show |
Indiana vs Notre Dame 2:00 ET Hoosiers (+) over Fighting Irish- Both these clubs enter this contest with three straight win under their belts and both will feature excellent point guards. Indiana who averaged 95.7 points during their three game streak are led by Yogi Ferrell scoring 16.8 points and 6.5 assists along with back-court partner James Blackmon Jr. who scores 16 points per game. The Irish will counter with Demetrius Jackson who has 17.8 points and five assists per contest. The Hoosiers hold the all-time series lead 48-22 but Notre Dame his won three of the last four. This time around the Hoosiers get it done. Take INDIANA! |
12-19-15 | North Carolina -6.5 v. UCLA | 89-76 | Win | 100 | 3 h 29 m | Show
North Carolina vs UCLA 1:00 ET Tar Heels (-) over Bruins- Last Saturday we took Texas in this spot against the Tar Heels and were rewarded with an 'outright' 84-82 victory. This week we will turn the tables and lay the points with North Carolina against UCLA. The Bruins are a long way from home and have had some disappointing outing including a losses to Monmouth-NJ and Wake Forest while going 4-7 ATS. Their history against the ACC has not fared well in recent meetings winning just 2-of-9 ATS. Take NORTH CAROLINA |
12-19-15 | Utah +6.5 v. Duke | 77-75 | Win | 100 | 3 h 17 m | Show
Utah vs Duke 12:00 ET Utes (+) over Blue Devils- Utah invades Madison Square Garden to take on No. 6 Duke who will be without senior power forward Amile Jefferson who broke his foot in practice this week. The Blue Devils will have to rely on coaching to match-up with Utah center Jakob Poeltl who is shooting 69.9 percent from the field and is averaging 19.1 points and 9.5 rebounds. The Utes come in with losses to Miami-FL and Wichita State but rebounded with a win the following game each time. These two met is the NCAA Elite-8 last season with Duke winning 63-57 as they were called back on to the court to shoot two free throws for the 'cover.' This time it's UTAH! |
12-18-15 | South Carolina v. Clemson +1.5 | 65-59 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 1 m | Show
South Carolina at Clemson 7:00 ET Tigers (+) over Gamecocks- This is the first meeting between these two bitter rivals where both have been ranked in 18 years in 1997. South Carolina enter this contest 9-0 winning eight of nine by double-digits and have a 20.5 point per game advantage over their opponents. Clemson is 6-1 at home losing only to Alabama 51-50 last Saturday. The Tigers have won eight of the last 11 meetings with the Gamecocks winning last season 68-45. Clemson will be looking for big-time revenge against their most bitter of rivals. Take the TIGERS! |
12-16-15 | Arizona State +6 v. UNLV | 66-56 | Win | 100 | 12 h 39 m | Show
Arizona State at UNLV 10:00 ET Sun Devils (+) over Rebels- After winning three straight including a win over No. 20 Texas A&M the Sun Devils where spanked 72-58 on Saturday by No. 4 ranked Kentucky. UNLV is 8-2 and has won five of their last six and look much improved then Dave Rice previous editions. Arizona State is couched by Bobby Hurley who was part of the Duke team that upset the Rebels in the 1991 Final Four at Indianapolis and UNLV coach Rice was a reserve on the Rebels back then. The Sun Devils who also have a quality win over N.C. State have played a tougher schedule and have more depth and experience. With a better shooting offense and balance ASU can win here. Take the SUN DEVILS! |
12-15-15 | VCU +1.5 v. Georgia Tech | 64-77 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 52 m | Show
VCU at Georgia Tech 9:00 ET Rams (+) over Yellow Jackets- Something just doesn't look right when I see an ACC school playing at home opening a favorite of less then a long field goal. After failing against Florida State 76-71 the Rams believe that experience will help the here. Shaka Smart has moved on to Texas but VCU still plays a tough pressing defense they can take the Georgia Tech out of their game. The Jackets have in-state rival Georgia up on Saturday and might get caught lookiNg ahead here. Take VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH! |
12-13-15 | Yale +7 v. USC | 56-68 | Loss | -102 | 6 h 1 m | Show
Yale at USC 4:00 ET Bulldogs (+) over Trojans- At 5-4 this bunch of over-achievers may be the best the Ivy has to offer this season. This is the Bulldogs sixth road game as they logged almost 12,000 frequent flyer miles playing national powers Duke, SMU and Illinois. They return 10 letterman from a club that won 22 games last year and have the Ivy League player of the Year in Justin Sears. Yale can match-up inside as they have a plus 12.1 rebounding margin. Take the BULLDOGS! |
12-12-15 | Florida +9.5 v. Michigan State | 52-58 | Win | 100 | 8 h 6 m | Show
Florida at Michigan State 6:00 ET Gators (+) over Spartans- It was 15 years ago when Matine Cleaves led Michigan State to the National Championship over Florida and that team is being honored today while the Spartans host the Gators. This is give Florida the incentive they need to compete against the No. 1 team in the country. Michigan State is 10-0 and plays tough defensive while one of the top rebounding teams in the nation as they have held their last two opponents to 33 and 35 points. Florida is off a 66-55 loss to Miami-FL and is 0-2 against ranked teams so far this season. Today they at least get the 'cover.' Take the GATORS! |
12-12-15 | Kansas State v. Texas A&M -8.5 | 68-78 | Win | 100 | 7 h 26 m | Show
Kansas State at Texas A&M 5:30 ET Aggies (-) over Wildcats- Texas A&M is off a loss at Arizona State while Kansas State is off a road win at Georgia. Beating the Bulldogs doesn't doesn't really mean much considering their weak backcourt and coaching. The Wildcats are 7-1 on the season with their only loss coming at the hands of North Carolina. The Aggies return home where they are 5-0 after losing two of their last three but are still No. 25 in the last poll. They have a week off after this contest so their sites will be concentrated on the Wildcats. Take TEXAS A&M. |
12-12-15 | North Carolina v. Texas +6 | Top | 82-84 | Win | 100 | 7 h 22 m | Show |
North Carolina at Texas 5:15 ET Longhorns (+) over Tar Heels- North Carolina is 7-1 but has lost their only true road game at Northern Iowa but have reeled off four straight wins since then while Texas have won their last three and are 4-0 at home. The Longhorns under Skaka Smart is holding opponents to 37.3 per cent shoot while the Tar Heels are shooting at 50% for the season. Texas has one of the better big men in the country as Cameron Ridley averages 12.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocks while shooting 72.4 percent from the field. Texas has enough to compete here. Take the points with the LONGHORNS! |
12-12-15 | Ohio State v. Connecticut -8 | 55-75 | Win | 100 | 2 h 7 m | Show
Ohio State at Connecticut 12:00 ET Huskies (-) over Buckeyes- Connecticut has had a bad habit of falling behind against quality competition and then fighting back but losing to Syracuse, Gonzaga and Maryland on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden. Ohio State has won their last three (Mount St. Mary's, Grambling and VMI) after dropping four straight but they are 4-0 at home. This is Ohio State first true rod game of the season and I expect the Huskies big game competition and experience will help. Take CONNECTICUT! |
12-10-15 | Iowa +7.5 v. Iowa State | 82-83 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show
Iowa at Iowa State 7:30 ET Hawkeyes (+) over Cyclones- No. 2 Iowa State has won six straight in this series at home but never before has had this type of national attention. Iowa brings a respectable 7-2 record into Ames and brings a little more depth into this contest than does State. The Hawkeyes have 10 players averaging almost 10 minutes per game while the Cyclones top seven players put in 96.4 percent of the teams playing time. Iowa has enough with Jarrod Uthoff (18.2 points per game) have enough fire-power to keep this one close. Take the HAWKEYES! |
12-09-15 | UNLV v. Wichita State -7 | 50-56 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 28 m | Show
UNLV at Wichita State 9:00 ET Shockers (-) over Rebels- Here come the Runnin' Rebels 7-1 invading Wichita, Kansas where the Shockers are 2-0 but just 3-4 on the season. UNLV has had great recruiting for the has five campaigns but weak coaching with David Rice at the head has not helped out, this season they seem to have put it together. This is the Rebels first true road game and this young but talented club will not feel comfortable. State is 2-0 at home scoring 88 points per contest while holding opponents to 63. Injuries have been a factor in their slow start but tonight the shine. Take WICHITA STATE! |
12-08-15 | Houston v. Rhode Island -7 | Top | 57-67 | Win | 100 | 9 h 31 m | Show |
Houston at Rhode Island 7:00 ET Rams (-) over Cougars- The Houston Cougars are 5-0 to start the season but have played just two lined games and are 8-0 ATS in their last eight overall. There are a pair of factors that have made Rhode Island such a strong favorite and the first is that Houston just hasn't played anybody and this is their first encounter on the road. The Rams are off a disappointing home loss to Providence where they held the lead most of the game before faltering in the final minutes in a 74-72 loss where they best shooter Four McGlynn failed to score a point. This time the Rams get there. Take RHODE ISLAND! |
12-05-15 | Providence +3.5 v. Rhode Island | 74-72 | Win | 100 | 7 h 45 m | Show
Providence at Rhode Island 7:00 ET Rams over Friars- No. 24 Providence (7-1) invades Kingston Center having won eight of the last 12 against their in-sate rival in a series that started in 1935. Rhode Island (5-2) believes it can slow down the Friars attack with their No. 9 ranked defense allowing just 57.7 points per contest. Kris Dunn recorded a triple-double the last time out for Providence against Hartford but he will find the going a bit tougher here. The Rams have the nation's No. 1 free-three shooter in Four McGlynn who his at 90.1 % from the stripe. Take RHODE ISLAND! |
12-03-15 | Kentucky v. UCLA +6 | 77-87 | Win | 100 | 11 h 11 m | Show
Kentucky at UCLA 9:00 ET Bruins (+) over Wildcats- No.1 and undefeated (7-0) the Kentucky Wildcats invade 'Famed' Pauley Pavilion loaded with talent while UCLA has struggled winning just four of seven. Coaches son Bryce Alford is the Bruins leading scorer (15.3) and assist leader (5.6) although his early season shooting stats need improving. Big man Tony Parker has been exceptional except for one outing and is averaging 14.1 points and 12.1 rebounds. UCLA has a measure of revenge on their minds as they were embarrassed 83-44 by the Wildcats in Chicago last season. Take the points with UCLA! |
12-02-15 | Notre Dame v. Illinois +2.5 | 84-79 | Loss | -102 | 11 h 44 m | Show
Notre Dame at Illinois 9:15 ET Illini (+) over Fighting Irish- Illinois will open the newly-renovated State Farm Center with this Big-Ten/ACC Challenge match-up against Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish suffered two close losses to Monmouth and Alabama but a combined three points at the Advocare Invitational. Illinois mean while is 3-4 has won 2-of-3 with it's loss coming to No. 4 Iowa State. The Irish have been atrocious from the free throw line converting just six of 19 against Monmouth. Illinois will honor coach Lou Henson their winningest coach in school history. Take the ILLINI! |
12-02-15 | Louisville +6 v. Michigan State | 67-71 | Win | 102 | 9 h 35 m | Show
Louisville at Michigan State 7:15 ET Cardinals (+) over Spartans- A pair of national power square off in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge as No. 3 Michigan State hosts No. 22 Louisville. The Spartans lead the nation in assists with 23.7 per contest and also ranks third nationally in rebounding margin at plus 18.3 and assist-to-turnover ration 2.05-1. Cardinals coach Rick Pitino will guide his club as this marks his 500th game at Louisville have won 373 against 126 defeats. In a close one. Take the CARDINALS! |
12-02-15 | Penn State +1.5 v. Boston College | 67-58 | Win | 100 | 9 h 30 m | Show
Penn State at Boston College 7:15 ET Nittany Lions (+) over Eagles- Another Big Ten/ACC Challenge contests at Chestnut Hill pits a pair of .500 clubs who have struggled in tournaments away from home. Boston College returns home after dropping three straight in California while shooting 28.3 percent from the floor and making only 4-of-26 3-pointers. Penn State hasn't been much better as they are 320th in scoring with 63.6 points per game as they are shooting 39.6% on the season. This one should come down to the final buzzer and I perfer to take the points. Take PENN STATE! |
11-16-15 | Columbia +3.5 v. Kansas State | Top | 71-81 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 10 m | Show |
Columbia at Kansas State 9:00 ET Lions (+) over Wildcats- Really now? Am I being suckered into taking an Ivy League school against one of the perennial NCAA basketball powers here. My first though is what's the matter with Kansas State that is line is so low? After doing my due diligence I find that the Wildcats are playing with six freshman and one junior college transfer but none of these six freshman would be playing for Kentucky. Columbia has a freshmen of their own in guard CJ Davis who was spectacular in his debut scoring 19 points including five-of-six 3-pointers with five assists. Even off the bench the Lions can play scoring 65 points in their opener. Take COLUMBIA! |
11-13-15 | Wofford +2.5 v. Missouri | 74-83 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 11 m | Show
Wofford at Missouri 9:00 ET Terriers (+) over Tigers- Okay, tell me you know where Wofford is located! Here I am writing up my analysis for a school that most don't even know exists. The brow raising question is how can a SEC team be favored by less then a 3-point field goal? Well, upon further review we see that the Terriers were 28-7 last season no matter who they are playing that's pretty good while Missouri was 9-23 and their best player Johnathan Williams transferred out. Second year coach Kim Anderson had little impact on the program last season and I don't see it getting any better this year. Take WOFFORD! |
04-06-15 | Wisconsin v. Duke +1 | 63-68 | Win | 100 | 12 h 36 m | Show
Wisconsin vs Duke 9:15 ET Blue Devils (+) over Badgers- One thing is for sure and that is that Wisconsin passes the 'eye' test in that when you see them play you realize how good they really are. Their win over Kentucky was very impressive as was Duke's methodical pounding of Michigan State. The concern I have here is that maybe the Badgers 'shot-their-load' against Kentucky and will have nothing left for the Blue Devils after defeating the unbeatable. Wisconsin has won 21 of their last 22 games while Duke has won 17 of 18 and they winning trends for both sides are strong as it should be as they are playing for the National Championship. This game as it should be is a virtual pick-em affair and one need just bet the winner and that will be DUKE! |
04-04-15 | Wisconsin v. Kentucky -5 | Top | 71-64 | Loss | -109 | 34 h 49 m | Show |
Wisconsin vs Kentucky 8:50 ET Wildcats (-) over Badgers- Kentucky is just two wins away from putting themselves in the conversation as one of the 'greatest' college basketball teams os all-time. No team have ever gone 40-0 and Wisconsin is the hurdle that must overcome on Saturday. Wisconsin played a near perfect game against Arizona shooting the 'eyes' out of the ball making 12-of-14 3-point attempts in the second half. These two met last April in the tourney and Kentucky came away with a 74-73 win on an Aaron Harrison 3-pointer with 5.7 seconds left. Defense will be the key and the Wildcats length will offset the Badgers shooting. Kentucky is 22-3 in NCAA games since Calipari took over in 2009. Take KENTUCKY! |
04-04-15 | Michigan State +5.5 v. Duke | 61-81 | Loss | -110 | 31 h 25 m | Show
Michigan State vs Duke 6:09 ET Spartans (+) over Blue Devils- Two legendary coaches face-off as Tom Izzo brings Michigan State the only non-No.1 seed into the Final Four against Mike Krzyzewski and Duke into Indianapolis. The Spartans are holding their four tournament opponents to 34% shooting and 23.7% from the 3-point line. These two met in the Champions Classic in November and the Blue Devils prevailed 81-71 and now lead the overall series 9-2 including 9-1 un Coach K. As a matter of fact these two have met four times in the past five seasons with the Blue Devils winning them all. It might appear that Duke has the edge but this Michigan State team has a way of keeping it close. Take the SPARTANS! |
04-02-15 | Stanford v. Miami (FL) +1.5 | 66-64 | Loss | -101 | 10 h 27 m | Show
Stanford vs Miami 9:00 ET Hurricanes (+) over Cardinal- The Miami Hurricanes will be without two starters for the NIT Final as point guard Angel Rodriquez is out with an injured wrist and center Tonye Jekiri who play only six minutes against Temple is out with a concession. Jekiri is the team's leading rebounder and shot blocker on a club that is all about defense. Stanford is built around senior Chasson Randle who started his career with an NIT win as a freshman and can end it the same way here. Miami has won seven of their last eight and have held their opponents to 62.3 points during that stretch, defense will always overcome a one-man show. Take MIAMI! |
03-31-15 | Stanford v. Old Dominion +2.5 | Top | 67-60 | Loss | -104 | 12 h 46 m | Show |
Stanford vs Old Dominion 9:00 ET Monarchs (+) over Cardinal- The Old Dominion Monarchs enter this contest as the No. 1 seed while Stanford is a No. 2 a match-up the Garden loves. The Cardinal are a long way from home (3,000 miles) and will have little support and although they are the 'higher seed' Old Dominion will be seen as the underdog and the crowd favorite. Stanford is seeking their third NIT title while the Monarchs are looking for their first NIT championship and they get it here. Take OLD DOMINION. |
03-31-15 | Miami (Fla) +2 v. Temple | 60-57 | Win | 100 | 10 h 31 m | Show
Miami-Fl vs Temple 7:00 ET Hurricanes (+) over Owls- The Temple Owls (26-10) have yet to trail in a NIT game and are the No. 1 seed over the No. 2 Miami Hurricanes (24-14). Both these clubs thought they had a chance for the Big Dance but have more then mage up for their disappointment by getting to New York. Miami on the other hand over came an 18-point deflect to defeat Richmond and has three NIT by a combined 13 points and are seeking their first NIT title while the Owls own three championships. This time the Hurricanes advance. Take MIAMI! |
03-29-15 | Gonzaga +3 v. Duke | Top | 52-66 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 21 m | Show |
Gonzaga vs Duke 5:05 ET Bulldogs (+) over Blue Devils- A great match-up as the two top seeds meet in the South Region final with No.1 Duke (32-4) a small favorite over No. 2 Gonzaga (35-2). both clubs of course at this point of the season have great trends in their corners as Duke is 7-1 ATS in their last eight games all against teams with winning records and Gonzaga is 4-1 ATS in their last five all against teams with winning records. The Bulldogs are seeking their first Final Four appearance while the Blue Devils have made countless trips under coach K and that is most likely why they are favored. I believe this is the best balanced and strongest Gonzaga team ever assembled and I see them advancing here. Take GONZAGA! |
03-29-15 | Michigan State v. Louisville +3 | Top | 76-70 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 44 m | Show |
Michigan State vs Louisville 2:20 ET Cardinals (+) over Spartans- Wow, what a coaching match-up. I never expected either of these two clubs to make it this far even with their strong perigee and here they are. Michigan State a 7 seed is favored once again against a higher seed in Louisville who is a 4. Tom Izzo and Rick Pitino an All-Italian Regional Final will both use plenty of hand gestures to aid their cause and it is difficult to separate their abilities to motivate their respective teams. Today it's LOUISVILLE! |
03-28-15 | Notre Dame v. Kentucky -11 | 66-68 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 4 m | Show
Notre Dame vs Kentucky 8:45 ET Wildcats (-) over Fighting Irish- Even though I used Kentucky as a Best Bet winner over West Virginia and we all know what happened there I am so hesitant about taking them here. After a team has a performance like that one I always look for a drop in production but, but this team does it with defense and defense doesn't have off nights. Notre Dame on the other hand is a great offensive team (second beat shooting in the country 51%) that can shoot the eyes our of the ball so to speak and I want to take them so bad but just can't. The Irish shot 75% in the second half against Wichita State and they will not be able to maintain anything close to that here. Take KENTUCKY! |
03-28-15 | Arizona -122 v. Wisconsin | Top | 78-85 | Loss | -122 | 8 h 46 m | Show |
Arizona vs Wisconsin 6:10 ET Wildcats over Badgers- Arizona and Wisconsin will meet in the Elite Eight for a berth in the Final Four for the second straight year and it is the Wildcats who are looking for the revenge off last season's 64-63 loss to the Badgers. The last time the met Arizona was the No. 1 seed and Wisconsin was the No. 2 and that's how similar this match-up is. So, this time around we've have the flip side and take ARIZONA! |
03-27-15 | Michigan State v. Oklahoma +2.5 | 62-58 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 23 m | Show
Michigan State vs Oklahoma 10:07 ET Sooners (+) over Spartans- This one really has me scratching my head as the No. 7 seed is favored over the No. 3 seed as Michigan State who has reached the Sweet-16 for the seventh time in the last eight seasons are a two-point favorite. Oklahoma is no pushover as they have won 12 of its last 15 games and has Lon Kruger leading the way the only coach to win NCAA Tournament games with five different schools. The Sooners are just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 overall and just 2-6 ATS against teams with a winning record but for the most part they were favorites in those encounters. Meanwhile the Spartans are 7-1 ATS in Non-conference games and 9-4 ATS in theirnlast13 overall. They are also 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 against the PAC-12. It seems once sided until you see the final score. Take OKLAHOMA! |
03-27-15 | Utah +6 v. Duke | Top | 57-63 | Push | 0 | 13 h 48 m | Show |
Utah vs Duke 9:45 ET Utes (+) over Blue Devils- Deadeye shooting freshman are leading the way for both these squads in the NCAA Tournament as Duke's Jahlil Okafor is averaging 23.5 points on 21-of-27 shooting while Jakob Poeltl who is averaging 15 points on 12-of-13 shooting. Utah seems to 'get-up' for non-conference opponents as they are 22-6-2 ATS in their last 30 and they are 67-30-3 ATS in their last 100 games overall. They are also 52-25-3 ATS against teams with winning records. Duke on the other hand is 7-3 ATS against the PAC-12 and are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall but are 2-5 ATS when coming off games after allowing less then 50 points. This one should come down to the final buzzer as they two are of similar styles. Take UTAH! |
03-27-15 | NC State v. Louisville -2.5 | 65-75 | Win | 100 | 11 h 50 m | Show
N.C. State vs Louisville 7:45 ET Cardinals (-) over Wolfpack- Five ACC schools are still alive out of the six that received invitations to the Big Dance wit only Virginia falling out. Something will have to give here as these two meet for the second time with the Wolfpack prevailing at Louisville in the first meeting 74-65 on Valentines Day their third straight win in the series. They win ended a 1-5 stretch and vaulted N. C. State to win eight of the next 10. The trends would all points to the Wolfpack and I could list them all and all the bad stuff about Louisville and then you would realize that it makes not sense for them to be favored here. So, Las Vegas believes that the Cardinals defense will be the difference and so do I. Take LOUISVILLE! |
03-26-15 | West Virginia v. Kentucky -13.5 | Top | 39-78 | Win | 100 | 13 h 12 m | Show |
West Virginia vs Kentucky 9:45 ET Wildcats (-) over Mountaineers- Well, Kentucky may be No. 1 but they are 0-2 ATS and with two buddies coaching against each other 'we' might expect a close encounter. John Calipari and Bob Huggins are fast friends and speak often with each other during the season but their clubs will be far from friendly when the square-off here. Both team play tough defense but the Wildcats own the boards and the shot blocking and they make their free throws. Expect a physical battle with Kentucky's depth being the difference as the Wildcats advance to the Regional final for the fifth time in six years. Take KENTUCKY! |
03-26-15 | North Carolina v. Wisconsin -6 | 72-79 | Win | 100 | 11 h 16 m | Show
North Carolina vs Wisconsin 7:45 ET Badgers (-) over Tar Heels- The Tar Heels will be without big forward Kennedy Meeks and that means trouble against the Badgers strong front. Wisconsin is just two wins from returning to the Final Four and last played North Carolina in the 2005 Tournament and lost when the Heels won it all. Even with their rich history North Carolina is just 1-4 ATS in their last five NCAA Tournament games. Take WISCONSIN! |
03-26-15 | Wichita State -1.5 v. Notre Dame | 70-81 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 45 m | Show
Wichita State vs Notre Dame 7:15 ET Shockers over Fighting Irish- I had to do a 'double-take' when I saw the opening line on this contest as I thought clearly that Notre Dame would be the favorite. Then I starting thinking about how easily the Shockers defeated Kansas and the struggle Notre Dame had against Butler in their overtime win. I was also considering the emotional impact of the Wichita State win against their in-state rival while the Fighting Irish have now won seven straight last losing to Syracuse on Feb. 24th. State is a 7 seed while the Irish is a 3 seed and this line just 'doesn't make sense.' What makes dollars and cents to me is that the Shockers win. Take WICHITA STATE! |

03-25-15 | Murray State v. Old Dominion | Top | 69-72 | Win | 100 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
Murray State at Old Dominion 7:00 ET Monarchs over Racers- A clash of styles will be present on Wednesday as Old Dominion host high scoring Murray State is a virtual 'play-in' game to Madison Square Garden as the NIT continues. The Racers have four players averaging double figures as the team scores 79.3 points per game while the Monarchs defense surrenders just 56.5 points per contest. It was surprising the way Murray State just blew-out Tulsa the other night but they are 1-5 ATS in their last six after a ATS win. This comes down to tempo and the Monarchs will slow it down and frustrate to Racers. Take OLD DOMINION! |
03-24-15 | Vanderbilt +3 v. Stanford | 75-78 | Push | 0 | 11 h 16 m | Show
Vanderbilt at Stanford 9:00 ET Commodores (+) over Cardinals- Young Vanderbilt has won seven of their last eight including a California NIT win at St. Mary's while Stanford was dismantling Rhode Island at home. The Commodores are not only 5-0 ATS in their last five road games but they are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall including 6-0ATS against teams with winning records. Stanford is 15-18-1 ATS on the season and Vandy is 18-13 ATS on the year. With their great success rate at home 15-3 straight-up this is a very short 'number.' Vegas likes the Commodores and so do I. Take VANDERBILT! |
03-24-15 | Miami (FL) v. Richmond -2 | 63-61 | Loss | -114 | 9 h 6 m | Show
Miami-FL at Richmond 7:00 ET Spiders over Hurricanes- There are two streaks that can be broken tonight in Richmond and they concern the Miami Hurricanes who have made 11 NIT appearance have never been to Madison Square Garden for the NIT going 0-3 in the semi-finals and their coach with 31 years of experience Jim Larranaga has never been their either. The key here is that the Spiders are the region's No. 1 seed and have the home court advantage where they are 16-3 including nine wins in their last 10 games while the Hurricanes are 7-4 on the road. Richmond is 11-1-1 ATS in their last 13 after a win and 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games overall. With the hot hand take RICHMOND! |
03-23-15 | Colorado v. Seattle +5.5 | 65-72 | Win | 100 | 10 h 56 m | Show
Colorado at Seattle 10:00 ET Redhawks (+) over Buffaloes- Colorado from the PAC-12 in the only team from a major conference playing in the CBI (College Basketball Invitational) and they enter this contest with a losing record at 16-17. They will be jeers by a rousing crowd of 1,050 at Connolly Center, a far cry from the arena's of the PAC-12. The Buffs are certainly stepping down in class but the Redhawks will be flying high for this opportunity against a major conference. Take SEATTLE! |
03-23-15 | Murray State v. Tulsa -4 | Top | 83-62 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 1 m | Show |
Murray State at Tulsa 9:00 ET Golden Hurricane (-) over Racers- Murray State came within a pubic hair of an automatic bid to the NCAA's but a wild three-pointer at the buzzer by Belmont in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship (They had won 25 straight prior to that upset loss.) destined them into the NIT where they won their opening round game over Texas E-Paso 81-66. Tulsa entered the NIT losers 3-of-4 but managed a 70-67 over William and Mary but are 0-4 ATS in their last four home games. I expect them to turn that around here. Take TULSA! |
03-23-15 | Cleveland State v. N.J.I.T. +3 | Top | 77-80 | Win | 100 | 7 h 11 m | Show |
Cleveland State at New Jersey I.T. Highlanders (+) over Vikings- New Jersey Institute of Technology has played some decent basketball this season winning 13 of 15 at home including nine of their last 10 overall. Cleveland State of course is of 'Mouse' McFadden fame when he led them into the NCAA's a number of years ago. The Vikings are just 6-10 straight-up on the road and they are 0-5 ATS after an ATS win while the Highlanders are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall. This is a team that defeated Michigan 72-70 and held a 44-41 half-time lead over Villanova...they can play. Take NEW JERSEY! |
03-22-15 | Northern Iowa v. Louisville +2.5 | Top | 53-66 | Win | 100 | 19 h 57 m | Show |
Northern Iowa vs Louisville 9:40 ET Cardinals (+) over Panthers- Northern Iowa rolled out to an early 21-point lead as they crushed the weak Mountain West Champion Wyoming Cowboys 71-54. Louisville who has survived injuries, suspensions and dismissals is challenged offensively but still play a hard nose pressure defense. Rick Pitino is 12-3 all-time in round two of the NCAA Tournament. Northern Iowa has been tough going 17-6-1 ATS in their last 24 games overall and are 14-4-3 ATS in their last 18 games following an ATS win. Louisville is 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall and 1-8-2 ATS in non-conference games but for the most part they were the favorites and now their roll is reversed. Take LOUISVILLE! |
03-22-15 | West Virginia +1 v. Maryland | Top | 69-59 | Win | 100 | 18 h 18 m | Show |
West Virginia vs Maryland 8:40 ET Mountaineers (+) over Terrapins- The Maryland Terrapins held off a feisty Valparaiso club 65-62 for a win in a contest that the led for the final 30 minutes. West Virginia meanwhile also had to deal with a scrappy Buffalo squad as the Mountaineers are getting healthy ay the right time as they welcomed back injured guards Juwan Staten and Gray Browne. Their return helped the West Virginia press which created 17 Bulls turnovers. They always seem ready for the 'Big Dance' as they are 14-5-1 ATS in their last 20 NCAA tourney games while the Terrapins are just 3-7 in their last 10 NCAA appearances. Take WEST VIRGINIA! |
03-22-15 | Oregon v. Wisconsin -12 | 65-72 | Loss | -108 | 17 h 14 m | Show
Oregon vs Wisconsin 7:45 ET Badgers (-) over Ducks- Oregon beat Oklahoma State Friday in a game tat surprised me the way they took control in the second half and dominated the Cowboys. Maybe I should have expected it as the Ducks are now 8-1 ATS in their last nine and are 20-9-1 ATS in their last 30 non-conference games. Wisconsin slept walked through their win over Coastal Carolina never coming close to 'covering' the 20-point spread. With the most dominating player in the Big Ten leading the Badgers I expect them to win easily as they are 4-0 ATS versus the PAC-12, 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 non-conference games, 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 at neutral sites and 4-1-1 ATS in tier last six NCAA tournament games. Lay it with WISCONSIN! |
03-22-15 | Arizona State v. Richmond -4.5 | 70-76 | Win | 100 | 17 h 38 m | Show
Arizona State at Richmond 7:30 ET Spiders (-) over Sun Devils- This game has to be considered a home court advantage as the Arizona State Sun Devils who won in Hartford against Connecticut in Round 1 on the NIT are just 3-9 straight-up on the road while Richmond is 15-3 at home. Add that the Sun Devils are just 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 road games and they are 0-8 ATS after a straight-up win. Richmond meanwhile, is 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight and 9-2-2 ATS against a team with a winning record. Home cooking does it. Take the SPIDERS! |
03-22-15 | Michigan State v. Virginia -4.5 | Top | 60-54 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 30 m | Show |
Michigan State vs Virginia 12:10 ET Cavaliers (-) over Spartans- I believed that theVirginia Cavaliers were deserving of a No.1 seed and they did manage a No. 2 but now tourney tested Michigan State and will have their work cut out for them. The Cavs didn't play their usual defense but managed a tough and much closer and tough 79-67 win over Belmont Friday. Michigan State was in control most of the way in their 70-63 win and cover over Georgia as they drained their free throws down the stretch. Virginia will have a bit of revenge on their minds as they lost to the Spartans in the East Regional Sweet-16 last season. Trends all go Virginia's way as they are 18-7-1 ATS following an ATS loss, as well as 6-2 ATS in their last eight over the Big Ten and finally they are 30-13-2 ATS against teams with winning records. With Friday win State is now 1-4-1 ATS in their last six NCAA Tournament games. Take VIRGINIA! |
03-21-15 | Butler +5 v. Notre Dame | 64-67 | Win | 100 | 16 h 45 m | Show
Butler vs Notre Dame 9:40 ET Bulldogs (+) over Fighting Irish- Notre Dame has shown the ability to score against anybody but will have their work cut out for themselves against the defensive minded Bulldogs. For the most part the trends favor the Fighting Irish as they as 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall while Butler is 1-5 ATS in their last six following a straight-up win. But, it stops there as the Irish are 0-7 ATS in their last seven NCAA Tournament games while the Bulldogs are 5-0 ATS in their last five after allowing less then 50 points in their previous game (56-48 over Texas). Line seems short to me. Take BUTLER! |
03-21-15 | Utah -4 v. Georgetown | 75-64 | Win | 100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
Utah vs Georgetown 10:45 ET Utes (-) over Hoyas- This game starts way past the Hoyas bed time as they have travel further then any other team in the tournament and this game is a late start. Utah has been one of the more under-rated team in the NCAA this season even by Vegas standards (20-11-1 ATS) and they just keep rolling along. Georgetown has had problems maintaining consistency (12-16-1 ATS) as they are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games following an ATS win. Playing in the Utes back yard the Hoyas don't measure up here. Take UTAH! |
03-21-15 | Ohio State +9.5 v. Arizona | 58-73 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 18 m | Show
Ohio State vs Arizona 8:15 ET Buckeyes (+) over Wildcats- This is my chance to tell everyone how 'over-rated' I think the Wildcats really are. I just can't get that UNLV loss out of my head. Here Ohio State enters with a non-win cover as does Arizona but the Buckeyes had go overtime against feisty Virginia Commonwealth while the Wildcats blew out under-manned Texas Southern 93-72 but were a 22-point favorite. Trends here do not favor the Buckeyes as they are 0-5 ATS in their last five NCAA Tournament games and are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 at neutral sites. Arizona meanwhile si 4-0 ATS in their last four following an ATS loss and they are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 against teams with winning percentage about .600. Still, like the 'Maine' remember UNLV! Take OHIO STATE! |
03-21-15 | UAB v. UCLA -5.5 | Top | 75-92 | Win | 100 | 6 h 15 m | Show |
Alabama-Birmingham vs UCLA 12:10 Bruins (-) over Blazers- Positive trends surround these two upset winners as the enter round three and a chance to advance to the Sweet-16. UCLA as we are well aware was the team people were most upset with making the tournament and now they are even more disgusted at the way they defeated SMU with that controversial goal tending (the correct call) to win the game for the Bruins. UAB meanwhile 'shocked the World' (Clay style) with their win over Iowa State who manny picked to get to the Final Four. Listen to these numbers, UCLA is 13-3 ATS playing teams with a winning record and the Blazers are 14-3 ATS playing teams with winning records. Something has got to give and I believe this number is 'way' high and that tells me Vegas likes the Bruins. Take UCLA! |
03-20-15 | St. John's +4 v. San Diego State | 64-76 | Loss | -108 | 19 h 19 m | Show
St. John's vs San Diego State 9:40 ET Red Storm (+) over Aztecs- East meets West so to speak when these two under-achievers clash in Charlotte, NC. St. John's enter this contest off a brutal loss to Villanova to end the regular season and then were ousted in the first round of the Big East Tournament. San Diego State was everyone's pick to dominate the Mountain West and manged to get to the Conference final before falling to Wyoming 45-43. The Red Storm are 4-1 ATS following a loss while the Aztecs are 1-4 ATS in their lasT five against teams with winning records. Take ST. JOHN'S! |
03-20-15 | Oklahoma State +2 v. Oregon | 73-79 | Loss | -105 | 17 h 40 m | Show
Oklahoma State vs Oregon 6:10 ET Cowboys (+) over Ducks- I've been trying to ascertain why 'everybody' seems to be on the Ducks here and the best I can figure out is that they have won eight of their last 10 while Oklahoma State is just 4-6 straight-up in their last 10. Then I look at current trends and learn more. The Cowboys are 1-6 ATS in their last seven while Oregon is 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall. These teams are meeting for the second time in three years when the Ducks won in NCAA Tourney action in San Jose 68-55. But, none of the Ducks who played in that win are with the club. Oregon won in its back yard and this time it's Oklahoma State's turn to win in Omaha, Nebraska. Take the COWBOYS! |
03-20-15 | Valparaiso +4.5 v. Maryland | Top | 62-65 | Win | 100 | 15 h 5 m | Show |
Valparaiso vs Maryland 4:40 ET Crusaders (+) over Terrapins- Maryland set a school record with 26 regular season wins and enter this contest winners of eight of their last nine in their inaugural season in the Big Ten. Valparaiso has won 10 of their last 11 games and is making their first NCAA appearance since reaching the Sweet-16 in 1998. Surprisingly, this is the Terrapins first appearance in the 'Big Dance' since 2010 and they are not only 6-0 ATS in their last six games overall but they are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 at neutral sites. Meanwhile, the Crusaders are 5-0 ATS against teams with winning records. Considering the level of play I thing this line is very low and the odds makers believe that the dog has a chance her. Take VALPARAISO! |
03-20-15 | Indiana +6 v. Wichita State | 76-81 | Win | 100 | 13 h 56 m | Show
Indiana vs Wichita State 2:45 ET Hoosiers (+) over Shockers- Indiana started 5-1 in Big Ten play and was not able at put together two consecutive conference wins since and fell to seventh. The Hoosiers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall while Wichita State is 6-1 ATS in their last seven NCAA Tournament games. The Shockers disappointed us all last season when they failed early in the tournament and they lost in the Missouri Valley Conference Semi-finals this season to Illinois State. In this one the Hoosiers are worth the points. Take INDIANA! |
03-20-15 | Georgia +6 v. Michigan State | 63-70 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 0 m | Show
Georgia vs Michigan State 12:40 ET Bulldogs (+) over Spartans- Michigan State who is making their 18th straight NCAA appearance under Tom Izzo has won opening round games in seven of the last eight years. The Spartans though are off a meltdown in the Big Ten Championship games getting outscored 24-13 the final eight minutes blowing an 11-point lead and then were outscored 11-0 in overtime. Georgia is 8-2-1 ATS against teams with winning records above .600 are making their first NCAA appearance since 2011. The Spartans are 2-8-1 ATS in their last eight games at neutral sites and are 0-4-1 ATS in their last four NCAA Tournament contests. This one will be closer then most predict. Take the BULLDOGS! |
03-19-15 | LSU +2 v. NC State | 65-66 | Win | 100 | 13 h 44 m | Show
L.S.U. Vs N.C. State 9:20 ET Tigers (+) over Wolfpack- Both clubs were beaten in their respective conference tournament but enter playing well as LSU has won four of their last six while N.C State were winners of six of their final eight. The Wolfpack relay on the play of their three starting guards while the Tigers depending on strong interior play ranking 7th nationally with 6.2 blocked shots and are 12th in total rebounding. Against three common opponents these two each went 2-2 playing Clemson, West Virginia and Tennessee. N.C. State is in the tourney for the fourth straight time while LSU is in for the first time in six years. Take LSU! |
03-19-15 | Purdue v. Cincinnati +1.5 | 65-66 | Win | 100 | 11 h 42 m | Show
Purdue at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Bearcats (+) over Boilermakers- Cincinnati is back for their fifth straight NCAA appearance (lost first round the last two times out) while Purdue returns to the tournament after back-to-back losing seasons. A contrast of styles here may appear to aid a defensive team like Purdue as they tout theBig Ten defensive Player of the Year is Rapheal Davis. The Bearcats feature an offense that was sixth ranked nationally in points per game and I think that that have just too much fire power for the Boilermakers. Take CINCINNATI! |
03-19-15 | UCLA +4 v. SMU | Top | 60-59 | Win | 100 | 7 h 47 m | Show |
U.C.L.A. vs S.M.U. 3:10 ET Bruins (+) over Mustangs- Well, we all know the storyline here as all the experts are screaming about the Bruins being selected over many other worth teams after scoring single-digits in their first half when facing Kentucky in December. Another focal point here will be SMU coach Larry Brown who led UCLA to the Finals while there as head coach 1979-81. Trends tend to clash here as the Mustangs are 6-1 ATS in their last seven against teams with .600 or better winning percentage while UCLA is 6-0 ATS in their last six against teams with winning records. SMU makes their first NCAA appearance since 1993 while the Bruins feel that they have something to prove is making their 47th appearance and have advanced three straight years and four of the last five seasons. Take UCLA! |
03-19-15 | Georgia State +9 v. Baylor | 57-56 | Win | 100 | 5 h 26 m | Show
Georgia State vs Baylor 1:40 ET Panthers (+) over Bears- Baylor has been a club that many felt had a chance to win the Big-12 and have enough athletic ability to cause some damage in the NCAA's. They are seeded 4th so the selection committee give some merit to their supporters as they played 12 of their 18 conference games against ranked competition and won seven times losing three times to Kansas. Georgia Southern have not been in the tournament since 2001 when they upset Wisconsin in the first round. With transfers from Kentucky and Louisville they have five in-a-row and 13 of 15 since mid-January. In a match-up the Bears should not take for granted...take GEORGIA STATE! |
03-19-15 | Northeastern +12.5 v. Notre Dame | 65-69 | Win | 100 | 4 h 12 m | Show
Northeastern as Notre Dame 12:15 ET Huskies (+) over Fighting Irish- Notre Dame comes into this contest riding high with an ACC Championship belt and a five game winning streak (5-0 ATS) as they host the 14th seed Northeastern Huskies. There will be a contrast in styles as Notre Dame has four guards that aver 78.8 points and shoot 51% while the Huskies are one of the top defensive rebounding teams. Northeastern more then doubled their wins from last season and are in the 'Big Dance' for the first time since 1991. The Huskies have won six of their last seven games while the Irish have lost six of their last eight NCAA Tournament games. Many believe Notre Dame is Final Four material but they haven't reached the Sweet-16 since 2003. This one may be closer then many think. Take NORTHEASTERN! |
03-18-15 | Boise State +4.5 v. Dayton | Top | 55-56 | Win | 100 | 12 h 17 m | Show |
Boise State vs Dayton 9:10 ET Broncos (+) over Flyers- The Dayton Flyers have a distinct advantage in this East Region first-round action as an 11 seed as they have the rare home court in a NCAA Tournament game. And boy is this an advantage or when. The Flyers are undefeated at home this year going 16-0 in the regular season and have won 21 in-a-row when playing as hosts. Also and 11 seed Boise State is among the best 3-point shooting teams in the country making almost nine long range bombs a game. The Broncos can play and are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games overall while the Flyers off last years' run into the Elite Eight are 4-0 ATS in their last four NCAA Tournament games. Still, I feel it's too easy to take Dayton here. And like Ole Miss last night I'm looking for an upset. Take BOISE STATE! |
03-18-15 | Vanderbilt v. St. Mary's -2.5 | 75-64 | Loss | -102 | 12 h 41 m | Show
Vanderbilt at St Mary's 9:00 ET Gaels (-) over Commodores- With five freshmen and two sophomores getting the bulk of the playing time Vanderbilt is happy to be playing anywhere just to gain the experience and with a 4-7 road record they need it. St. Mary's who upset Gonzaga this season is a stellar 18-9 ATS including 10-5 at home. Unlike the Commodores the Gaels aren't satisfied just to be here as they have five senior starters that want to continue playing. True Vandy has won five of their last six while St. Mary's has dropped three of their last four but are looking to bounce -back from a dreadful loss to Portland in their conference tourney. Take ST. MARY'S! |
03-18-15 | Arizona State +3.5 v. Connecticut | 68-61 | Win | 100 | 10 h 56 m | Show
Arizona State at Connecticut 7:00 ET Sun Devils (+) over Huskies- Two clubs that are off disappointing campaigns meet in this first-round NIT contest as the former NCAA Champion Huskies failed to qualify for the 'Big Dance' falling to SMU in Hartford in their conference playoff final. Neither of these teams did their backers any favors this season as Connecticut was 13-18 ATS and the Sun Devils were 13-19 against the money. Arizona State enters this contest 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall while the Huskies enter this fray 1-7 ATS after a straight-up loss. It may be more of a gut feeling but I believe the defending champs suffered more by not making the tournament and their play will show it. Take ARIZONA STATE! |
03-17-15 | Ole Miss +4 v. BYU | Top | 94-90 | Win | 100 | 25 h 4 m | Show |
Mississippi vs Brigham Young 9:10 ET Rebels (+) over Cougars- BYU won eight of its last nine game to qualify as an 11 seed and will be favored against Mississippi who lost four of their last five in end up in this play-in game. The Rebels just seem to have lost their gumption after losing in overtime to Kentucky and had won eight of nine prior to that heart-breaking loss. I look for Ole Miss to get their 'mojo' together for this one against a team that is just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 against a team with a winning percentage over .600. Take MISSISSIPPI! |
03-17-15 | George Washington +3 v. Pittsburgh | 60-54 | Win | 100 | 9 h 59 m | Show
George Washington at Pittsburgh 7:00 ET Colonials (+) over Panthers- Both these clubs have scary numbers when you view their trends. To start with the Pittsburgh enters this contest losers of their last four and are only 18-38-3 ATS in their last 59 games overall and they are just 9-20 ATS in tier last 29 home games. They don't come-back off a loss very well as they are 8-24-1 ATS in their last 34 games after a defeat. So, let's see what the Colonials have to offer and it's not much better. Other then that they are 3-01 ATS in their last four non-conference games they are just 6-14-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall, they are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and they are 5-18 ATS against a team with a winning record and it gets worse for BOTH teams the closer you look. But, someone has to win and I see...GEORGE WASHINGTON! |
03-15-15 | Arkansas +13.5 v. Kentucky | 63-78 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 13 m | Show
Arkansas vs Kentucky 1:00 ET Razorbacks (+) over Wildcats- The Arkansas Razorbacks have been touted as the biggest threat to the Wildcats this SEC season and it just has not worked out that way as Kentucky steam-rolled the Razorbacks 84-67 in their only meetings leading by 31-points at one time during that contest. The Wildcats at 33-0 own the longest winning streak in Kentucky's storied history and just seem unbeatable. I have stated before that I 'don't think they will lose a game but I believe this one will be close. They are just 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning % above .600 and Arkansas is 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS win. Take the points with ARKANSAS! |
03-15-15 | VCU v. Dayton +2 | Top | 71-65 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 37 m | Show |
Virginia Commonwealth vs Dayton 1:00 ET Flyers (+) over Rams- VCU has had their way in the Atlantic-10 the past few seasons and this year they are truly threatened by a legitimate Dayton squad that has won 25 games this season. The Rams have turned it on in the playoffs but will find the going tough this after noon. The Flyers have proved to be the better team as they are 4-0 ATS in their last four against teams with a winning percentage above .660 as well as 16-5 ATS in their last 21 neutral site games while the Rams are just 3-7 ATS against teams with a winning record and 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall. Take DAYTON! |
03-14-15 | Rhode Island +1.5 v. Dayton | 52-56 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 25 m | Show
Rhode Island vs Dayton Rams (+) over Flyers- I believe that the general 'public' will be all over Dayton here as they are the nation brand that people will identify with. But the trends tell me that Rhode Island has a good chance to win here. First, the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings and the Rams are not only 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings but are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against the Atlantic 10. Take RHODE ISLAND! |
03-14-15 | Yale +2 v. Harvard | Top | 51-53 | Push | 0 | 8 h 3 m | Show |
Harvard vs Yale 4:00 ET Bulldogs (+) over Crimson- I can'r get over the way every one thinks the season is over for the Yale Bulldogs because they missed their opportunity to qualify for the NCAA's by losing to lowly Dartmouth last week. Now, they must defeat a Harvard team that won 22 games and who they split the season series with both winning on the road. Granted Yale could have clinched their berth last week but they are not dead yet and have played better then Harvard this season. The Bulldogs have gone a fabulous 14-7-1 in lined games while Harvard is just 9-13 ATS and Yale is 17-7-2 ATS in tis last 26 games overall. Take the BULLDOGS! |
03-14-15 | Georgia +1.5 v. Arkansas | Top | 49-60 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 2 m | Show |
Georgia vs Arkansas 3:30 ET Bulldogs (+) over Razorbacks- Georgia happens to be playing their best ball of the season winning five of six with their only loss coming at the hands of undefeated Kentucky. These two played their conference opener against each other the first week of January as the Bulldogs let a1-3point first=hald lead slip away in a 79-75 Razorbacks win. The trends surrounding this contest all point in one direction as Georgia is 18-7-2 ATS in their last 27 games against a team with a winning record and they are 36-16-1 ATS in their last 53 in the SEC. Meanwhile, Arkansas is 1-7 ATS in their last eight against teams with a winning record percentage of .600 or better. Take the BULLDOGS! |
03-14-15 | Michigan State -2.5 v. Maryland | 62-58 | Win | 100 | 6 h 45 m | Show
Michigan State vs Maryland 3:30 ET Spartans (-) over Terrapins- The Maryland Terrapins have busted onto the Big Ten basketball scene in a huge way and have two victories over Michigan State this season once in double-overtime and the other a 75-59 crushing of the Spartans handing them their most lopsided loss of the year. Michigan State hasn't lost three times in a season to an opponent in the same season since 2003-04. It just seem odd that State is favored by Vegas when the are the Terps are the higher seed and own a superior record and have won twice against the Spartans and yet are underdogs. Michigan State is 7-2 ATS in their last nine against conference foes and Maryland is 2-5 ATS against teams with a winning percentage of .600 or better. Take the SPARTANS! |
03-14-15 | VCU +3 v. Davidson | 93-73 | Win | 100 | 4 h 5 m | Show
V.C.U. vs Davidson 1:30 ET Rams (+) over Wildcats- Davidson continues to make a big splash in the Atlantic-10 with a dramatic last second win over LaSalle Friday and must now face Virginia Commonwealth who has dominated the conference the past three years. These two split the season series each winning at home. Davidson has won 10 straight but are 1-6 ATS in their last seven neutral site games. Take VCU! |
03-13-15 | Providence +9 v. Villanova | 61-63 | Win | 100 | 11 h 19 m | Show
Providence vs Villanova 7:00 ET Friars (+) over Wildcats- The No. 1 seed in the Big East Villanova buried 17 3-pointers in their opening round win over Marquette Thursday and has now won 12 straight contests. Providence is off an impressive 74-57 win over St. John's but will have to have their 'A' game ready for the Wildcats. The Cats have taken the last four in this series and are looking to win out and secure a No. 1 seed in the Big Dance. Both clubs have preformed well at neutral sites as the Friars are 8-0 ATS and Villanova is 4-1 ATS. But the Wildcats are just 3-12 ATS on Friday nights. Take PORVIDENCE! |
03-13-15 | North Carolina +2.5 v. Virginia | 71-67 | Win | 100 | 11 h 7 m | Show
North Carolina vs Virginia 7:00 ET Tar Heels (+) over Cavaliers- The strengths of these two clubs will clash here as the Tar Heels who have scored 151 points in their two Acc wins face the conference number one defense. North Carolina leads the nation in assists and had 16 in their win over Louisville on Thursday while the Cavaliers jumped out to an 18-2 lead and coasted for an easy victory over Florida State. Two trends that play against Virginia is that they are 1-7 ATS in their last five games after allowing less then 50 points and they are 0-5 ATS after an ATS win. The Tar Heels are 5-0 ATS in their last five at neutral sites and will be ready here. Take NORTH CAROLINA! |
03-13-15 | Baylor +1 v. Kansas | Top | 52-62 | Loss | -106 | 11 h 45 m | Show |
Baylor vs Kansas 7:00 ET Bears (+) over Jayhawks- The Kansas Jayhawks won both regular season meetings over the Baylor Bears and now open a one-point favorite on a neutral site. The Bears enter this contest winners of seven of their last eight and will have to overcome the knowledge that the Jayhawks have won 23 of the last 27 meetings. But, these two teams enter this contest moving in different directions as Kansas is 1-7 ATS in their last eight while Baylor is 5-1 ATS in their last six. I'll stay with the hot club here. Take BAYLOR! |
03-13-15 | Penn State +5.5 v. Purdue | 59-64 | Win | 100 | 7 h 53 m | Show
Penn State vs Purdue 2:30 ET Nittany Lions (+) over Boilermakers- Purdue at a four seed in the Big Ten is still considered a 'bubble' team and needs at least one win in the conference tournament to secure a spot in the Big Dance. Penn State understands that they must win out to get a bid for the NCAA Tourney and has played conference games tough. The Lions lost five games by four points or fewer and play good enough defense to keep this one close. State is 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up win as they held their last two opponents to season low field goal percentage and will keep this one close. Take PENN STATE! |
03-12-15 | Xavier +2 v. Butler | 67-61 | Win | 100 | 9 h 22 m | Show
Xavier at Butler 9:30 ET Musketeers (+) over Bulldogs- No. 22 Butler (22-9) is assured a spot in the 'Big Dance' and will not look at this meeting with the same urgency as the Musketeers who defeated the Bulldogs at home two weeks ago but still are in need of a victory here. Xavier just squeezed by lowly Creighton 74-73 in their final conference game to finish the season 9-9 and will be better prepared to win here. Take MUSKETEERS! |
03-12-15 | Oklahoma State +5 v. Oklahoma | Top | 49-64 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 35 m | Show |
Oklahoma State at Oklahoma 9:00 ET Cowboys (+) over Sooners- Three weeks ago the Cowboys were 14-6 and the Sooners were 13-7 but the final 10 games Oklahoma won eight times and State just four times. Oklahoma has swept the season series the past two years but the underdog has won four of five. The Sooners are 0-6 ATS in their last six overall while the Cowboys aren't much better at 1-5 ATS and straight-up in their last six. It is not easy to defeat a team three times on one season especially your biggest rival. Take OKLAHOMA STATE! |
03-12-15 | Miami (FL) +4.5 v. Notre Dame | Top | 63-70 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
Miami vs Notre Dame 9:30 ET Hurricanes (+) over Fighting Irish- Notre Dame finished with more regular season wins (26) then any Irish team has in 100 years and are ranked NO. 9 in the nation. The 6th seeded Hurricanes have won three in-a-row and four of five. They blew a 12-point second half lead losing 75-70 at Notre Dame in the middle of January. This time again they get the money. Take MIAMI-FL! |
03-12-15 | Iowa State v. Texas +2 | 69-67 | Push | 0 | 7 h 55 m | Show
Iowa State vs Texas 7:00 ET Longhorns (+) over Cyclones- It seems strange to me that second seed Iowa State is less then a 3-point field goal favorite over the Longhorns against the 7th seed. Iowa State who has won the last three meetings won Last season's Big-12 Tournament. One oddity is that Texas is 3-0 on neutral sites while Iowa State is 7-7 away from home. Texas is 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up win and will play with confidence here. Take the LONGHORNS! |
03-12-15 | Northwestern +4.5 v. Indiana | 56-71 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 40 m | Show
Northwestern vs Indiana 6:30 ET Wildcats (+) over Hoosiers- At 19-12 the Indiana Hoosiers have been labeled either among the last four in or the first four out and the pressure they feel must be enormous. Northwestern has no real expectations about making it to the 'Big Dance' but have managed to win five of their last seven while Indiana is 5-5 in their last 10 games as they haven't won two-in-a-row since January. Northwestern's improved play can be seen against the points as they are 7-1 ATS after a loss while the Hoosiers are 1-5 this season at neutral sites. The underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings and that trend continues today. Take NORTHWESTERN! |
03-12-15 | Utah State +1.5 v. Wyoming | 65-67 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 20 m | Show
Utah State vs Wyoming 5:30 ET Aggies (+) over Cowboys- These two split the season series both holding serve at home with the most recent meeting happening in Wyoming last week as the Cowboys crushed State 76-53. It has been a roller coaster year for Wyoming who 'covered' only 32% of their lined games (8-17) and dropped their last game to New Mexico in overtime and the Aggies dropped their last two but had won and covered six straight prior to those defeats. The Cowboys built a winning record at home (17-2) and did not fare well outside of Laramie going 5-7 straight-up. Take UTAH STATE! |
03-11-15 | TCU +2 v. Kansas State | 67-65 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show
Texas Christian vs Kansas State 7:00 ET Horned Frogs (+) over Wildcats- It must be because of the proximity of this contest being played in Kansas City that the Wildcats are favored as they are just 15-16 on the year and yet are favored over 17-14 TCU. True Kansas State is 12-4 straight-up at home and the Horned Frogs are just 2-8 on the road but this is not a true home game for the Cats. Kansas State has made the tournament five straight years and there is only one way for them to qualify this season and that is to win out and in their hearts they know that they can't do it. The streak of eight straight 20-win season is now a thing of the past as these two split two meetings this season. State closed by going 3-8 ATS while TCU was 5-1 ATS in their last six. Take HORNED FROGS! |
03-11-15 | Pittsburgh +3.5 v. NC State | 70-81 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 9 m | Show
Pittsburgh vs N.C. State 7:00 ET Panthers (+) over Wolfpack- Pittsburgh enters this fray losers of their last three regular season games plays into the hot Wolfpack hands as they closed the year winning five of their last six. The winner here gets to play Duke tomorrow as N.C. State won the only meeting this season 68-50 as they held the Panthers to a season-low 32.7 percent shooting from the field while they hit 51.5 percent. A win here would give Pittsburgh their 14th consecutive 20-win season and revenge for their worst played conference game of the season. Take PITTSBURGH! |
03-11-15 | Auburn +2 v. Mississippi State | 74-68 | Win | 100 | 9 h 55 m | Show
Auburn vs Mississippi State 7:00 ET Tigers (+) over Bulldogs- The Auburn Tigers enter the SEC Tournament losers of their last six the last three of which were without senior standout guard Antone Mason following the death of his father former NBA forward Anthony Mason. Mississippi State halted their own five-game losing streak with a closing win over Missouri on Saturday. The bad news for Auburn fans is that they are 5-20-1 ATS in their last 26 games at neutral sites. The Bulldogs pulled off an upset win at Auburn 78-71 in the only meetings this season but with Bruce Pearl leading the charge I expect the Tigers be get some revenge here. Note that the underdog is 9-1-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings. Take AUBURN! |
03-11-15 | Air Force +2.5 v. New Mexico | 68-61 | Win | 100 | 5 h 25 m | Show
Air Force vs New Mexico 3:00 ET Falcons (+) over Lobos- Two of the bottom feeders in the weak Mountain West Conference come to Las Vegas to play as one of the low seed contest as 15-15 New Mexico is a small favorite over 13-16 Air Force. The Lobos ended an eight-game losing streak with an overtime home win over Wyoming last time out and is just 2-8 both straight-up and against the points in their last 10 games. New Mexico owns a 60-48 win earlier this season over the Falcons and they defending MWC Champs are now favored by less then a 3-point bucket. Lobos are moving in the wrong direction. Take AIR FORCE! |
03-08-15 | Maryland v. Nebraska +2.5 | 64-61 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 34 m | Show
Maryland at Nebraska 7:30 ET Cornhuskers (+) over Terrapins- If there is a team with little or no incentive in this contest it is the Maryland Terrapins as they are 'locked' into a second place finish in the Big Ten standings. Ranked No. 9 in the nation they have won six straight games including a 69-65 win over these same Cornhuskers who enter this fray losers of seven straight. Nebraska is 1-6 ATS in those seven games and this 'price' seem actual short considering the play of these two to date. Without incentive Maryland can get caught here thinking of the upcoming Big Ten Tournament. Take NEBRASKA! |
03-08-15 | Wisconsin v. Ohio State +2 | 72-48 | Loss | -108 | 7 h 45 m | Show
Wisconsin at Ohio State 4:30 ET Buckeyes (+) over Badgers- Both these clubs are 'locked' into their respective seeds in their upcoming Big-Ten Tournament with the Badgers already having won the regular season title and the Buckeyes fixed in the No. 6 seed spot. Ohio State missed out on the 'double-byes' in the conference tourney but have a psychological edge over Wisconsin as they have won six of the past nine meetings. The Badgers have won 12 of its last 13 and has a shot at a No. 1 seed but it is more important for them to win the conference tournament then this contest. They are 1-5 ATS in their last six games following an ATS win while Ohio State is 6-1 ATS in their last seven games at home. Take the BUCKEYES! |
03-08-15 | Tulsa v. SMU -8.5 | 62-67 | Loss | -106 | 5 h 20 m | Show
Tulsa at Southern Methodist 3:00 ET Mustangs (-) over Golden Hurricane- The regular-season crown and No.1 seed for the conference tournament is on the line as SMU hosts Tulsa in an American Athletic Conference match-up. SMU has not won a regular season title since 1933 (the year of the first MLB All-star game) and the Mustangs won against Tulsa earlier this season for just the 4th time in 17 meetings. Trends swing to both side here as the road team is 20-5-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings but the Mustangs 15-2 at home and are 8-1-2 ATS in their last 11 home games. If coaching means anything SMU gets the edge with Larry Brown leading the way. Take the MUSTANGS! |
03-07-15 | Duke v. North Carolina -1 | 84-77 | Loss | -115 | 12 h 25 m | Show
Duke at North Carolina 9:00 ET Tart Heels over Blue Devils- Three weeks ago these two played one of the best games of the year with the Tar Heels dropping a 92-90 overtime contest in a game Duke had no rights winning. The Blue Devils have won 10 straight and locked up the No. 2 seed behind Virginia while North Carolina is tied with Louisville for the 4th spot. It seems a bit strange that Carolina comes up the favorite in Vegas as they are 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight home games but Duke is 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games following a straight up win. Take NORTH CAROLINA! |
03-07-15 | Iowa State v. TCU +3.5 | 89-76 | Loss | -102 | 12 h 7 m | Show
Iowa State at Texas Christian 8:30 ET Horned Frogs (+) over Cyclones- Just looking at this game brings a sick feeling to my stomach as I had Oklahoma (+6) on Monday when the Cyclones trailing by 21-points rallied for a 77-70 win. This is the third season for TCU to be part of the Big-12 conference in basketball and they have finally proved to be no pushover going 17-13 overall. Iowa State has won all five of the previous meetings by double-digits so I find it surprising that the 'number' is so low here. State scored 59 points in the second half of their game on Monday and I see a dramatic drop-off here. Take TCU! |
03-07-15 | Virginia v. Louisville +3 | Top | 57-59 | Win | 100 | 10 h 18 m | Show |
Virginia at Louisville 6:30 ET Cardinals (+) over Cavaliers- No.2 Virginia has already clinched the ACC title while struggling Louisville is fighting to finish with the 4th seed and a bye. The Cardinals were totally out-classed by Notre Dame Thursday and are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and 3-12-2 ATS in their last 17 home games. Yet the Cavaliers are only a three-point bucket favorite here as this game means so much more to Louisville. The Cardinals always seem to get better as the season wears on as they are 25-5 during the month of March the past three years. Take LOUISVILLE! |
03-07-15 | South Carolina +5 v. Tennessee | 60-49 | Win | 100 | 8 h 1 m | Show
South Carolina at Tennessee 4:00 ET Gamecocks (+) over Volunteers- I can't tell you how many times this season I have had the Gamecocks with points and a double-digit second half lead only to loss by 10 or more points. Last time out South Carolina had an 11-point lead with under seven minutes to-go and lost by 10 to Arkansas. Tennessee meanwhile shot the eyes out of the hoop and ran away from LSU last time out and will come back to earth this afternoon. Neither of these clubs will go to the NCAA Tournament unless they win the SEC tournament and that is highly unlikely for both of these squads. Hard to believe this stat but the Vols have won the last 15 straight in this series and now hold a 41-23 advantage. Tennessee is 0-10-1 ATS at home against a team with a losing record and are 2-13-2 ATS overall in their last 26 home games. Take SOUTH CAROLINA! |
03-07-15 | LSU +6.5 v. Arkansas | 81-78 | Win | 100 | 6 h 8 m | Show
L.S.U at Arkansas 2:00 ET Tigers (+) over Razorbacks- We missed out on both these clubs last time out playing against Arkansas and losing with South Carolina and passing on Tennessee who ripped apart L.S.U. The Tigers had an inside track on a double-bye in the SEC tournament but now they need help after their loss to the Volunteers while the Razorbacks have clinch the second seed and get to rest. LSU allowed the Vols to shoot 69.2% in the second half and have to do better against the SEC's leading scoring team. The Key here is the Arkansas has clinched and are 0-4 ATS in their last four after a win and are 1-6 ATS in their last seven against teams with a winning percentage better then .600. Meanwhile, LSU is 9-1-1 ATS after a straight-up loss. Take TIGERS! |
03-07-15 | Michigan State v. Indiana | 74-72 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 20 m | Show
Michigan State at Indiana 12:00 ET Hoosiers (+) over Spartans- WE are coming of a huge winner against the Hoosiers last time out as Iowa crushed 77-63 in Indiana on Tuesday and they have now dropped three of their last four games. Indiana has dropped two straight at home for the first time since 2010 and a win here assures them a winning Big-Ten record. Michigan State has won nine of the last 12 meetings but this is a great spot for the Hoosiers. Take INDIANA! |
03-05-15 | Arkansas v. South Carolina +2.5 | Top | 78-74 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 20 m | Show |
Arkansas at South Carolina 7:00 ET Gamecocks (+) over Razorbacks- The Razorbacks already own a 75-55 home win as a 7 ½ point favorite over South Carolina in the first meeting when they held the Gamecocks to a dismal 27.9 percent shooting. Defense is about the only way the 'Cocks can win as Frank Martin's squad although they are coming off their highest scoring (81 points) game of the season shooting 46.3%. South Carolina has dropped 11 of their last 13 SEC encounters and they are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games overall and that's why this low number is such a surprise to me. Arkansas is a little shell-shocked after their beating by Kentucky and may just be looking toward the SEC playoffs. Take SOUTH CAROLINA! |
