12-09-17 | Wichita State v. Oklahoma State +5.5 | Top | 78-66 | Loss | -115 | 5 h 32 m | Show |
Wichita State at Oklahoma State 4:00 ET Cowboys (+) over Shockers- Last season Oklahoma State handed the Shockers their worst home loss of the season 93-76 and became only second non-conference team to win at Wichita State since 2008. This series dates back to 1934 and the Cowboys lead it 30-8 including last year's confidence building victory. Wichita State is a strong Final-4 contender with all five starters returning but will catch some resistance here. Take OKLAHOMA STATE! |
12-09-17 | Nebraska +12.5 v. Creighton | 65-75 | Win | 100 | 3 h 7 m | Show
Nebraska vs Creighton 2:30 ET Cornhuskers (+) over Blue Jays- These two in-state rivals have had a one-sided affair as Creighton has won 12 of 15 against Nebraska under coach Greg McDermott including 13-0 against Huskers coach Tim Miles. Even though they have struggled against the Big East 0-8 ATS in their last eight meetings they have enough talent to 'cover' here. Take NEBRASKA! |
12-08-17 | St. John's +5.5 v. Arizona State | 70-82 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 33 m | Show
St. John's at Arizona State 8:00 ET Red Storm (+) over Sun Devils- A pair of clubs with different styles will face-off in the Hall of Fame Classic at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Arizona State is averaging 92.7 points per contest while the Red Storm are allowing just 60 points per game. St. John's has made a huge comeback this season after a disappointing rookie season for coach Chris Mullen who has recruited a number of foreign born players except of course for Justin Simon who transferred from Arizona State to St. John's. These clubs met one other time in 2010 in Alaska with the Storm winning 67-58 which has ASU just 3-9 ATS against the Big East. Take ST. JOHN'S! |
12-06-17 | Rhode Island +3.5 v. Alabama | 64-68 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 39 m | Show
Rhode Island at Alabama 8:00 ET Rams (+) over Crimson Tide- Alabama coach Avery Johnson is a colorful character that has already had to finish one game with just three players remaining on the floor due to a bench clearing scuffle losing to Minnesota 89-84. (They actually outscored the Gophers playing short-handed three players to five) The Tide was in the Top-25 but two losses have dropped them out of the ranked. Rhode Island who is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 overall and are coming off a win over Providence and have already defeated a ranked Seton Hall club. Take the points with RHODE ISLAND! |
12-05-17 | Michigan State v. Rutgers +14.5 | 62-52 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show
Michigan State at Rutgers 7:00 ET Scarlet Knights (+) over Spartans- No. 3 Michigan State has won six straight and five straight 'covers' since their 88-81 loss to Duke. Rutgers dropped their Big Ten opener to No. 14 Minnesota by 22-points and have lost their four conference meetings against the Spartans by 20, 34, 31 and 28 points since joining the Big Ten. Michigan State is 25-10 ATS in their last 35 versus Big Ten competition. This season Rutgers is much improves going 6-1 straight-up at home (2-1 ATS) and are second in the nation in total defense (56.3 points per game) and rebounding (46.1). Defense and rebounding will keep this one close. Take RUTGERS! |
12-04-17 | Wisconsin +5.5 v. Penn State | 64-63 | Win | 100 | 8 h 9 m | Show
Wisconsin at Penn State 7:00 ET Badgers (+) over Nittany Lions- What is going on with Wisconsin? Two years ago they were playing for the National Championship and already this season they have lost more game then that entire season. At 3-5 straight-up and have yet to 'cover' 0-3 ATS on the road. Looking closer at the Badgers poor record one notices that they have played three ranked-teams and are coming off a 25-point loss to Ohio State. Penn State is 11-2 ATS in the last 13 meetings but, they all came as underdogs. With the rolls reversed here...Take WISCONSIN! |
12-03-17 | Seton Hall +3.5 v. Louisville | 79-77 | Win | 100 | 6 h 37 m | Show
Seton Hall at Louisville 4:00 ET Pirates (+) over Cardinals- Both coaches from these ranked clubs worked together under Rick Pitino before Seton Hall's Kevin Willard took the Pirates job. No. 17 Louisville is 4-0 at home but are just 1-3 ATS while this is the first road game for No. 24 Seton Hall who is 6-1 straight-up and 3-4 ATS. Usually, I look to play 'against' teams in their first road game but the 'price' tells me 'not here.' Louisville is 1-8 ATS in their last nine games overall and just won't make here although the Pirates are 1-6 at Louisville but that was during Pitino's rein. Take SETON HALL! |
12-02-17 | Arizona v. UNLV +5 | 91-88 | Win | 100 | 9 h 13 m | Show
Arizona at UNLV 10:00 ET Rebels (+) over Wildcats- Arizona coach Sean Miller say that the off season problems that surround the Wildcats program hasn't effected their play. Well, Arizona was ranked in the Top-10 in preseason polls but three straight losses in the Bahamas have dropped the Wildcats for the polls. The Wildcats returned home and beat-up on Long Beach State 91-56. Now, they must face a much improved UNLV squad that won only 11 game last season but are now 6-1 coming off a loss to Northern Iowa their first road game of the year. Returning home gives the Rebels the edge. Take UNLV! |
11-30-17 | Notre Dame +6.5 v. Michigan State | 63-81 | Loss | -104 | 5 h 57 m | Show
Notre Dame at Michigan State 7:00 ET Fighting Irish (+) over Spartans- These two schools compete against each other on the grid iron on a yearly basis but on the hardwood in a different story. Notre Dame has not played basketball at East Lansing since 1974 when Michigan State coach Tom Izzo was a point guard. The Spartans are 5-1 and No. 3 in the country while the Irish are 6-0 ranked #5 and off a win in the championship game in Maui over Wichita State. Defense is the key for the Mike Brey's squad and that will keep this one close. Take NOTRE DAME! |
11-29-17 | UNLV v. Northern Iowa +1 | Top | 68-77 | Win | 101 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
UNLV at Northern Iowa 8:00 ET Panthers over Rebels- Can it be? Can UNLV return to national prominence? They are 6-0 straight-up and 5-1 ATS playing patsies at home with one away game on a neutral site. Northern Iowa is 3-0 at home and are off a loss to Villanova and this is their first 'lined' game at home. The Rebels appear to have an offensive advantage ranking 9th for offensive field goal percentage and 37% from 3-point range. The problem here is that this is UNLV's first true road game and their shooting percentages will drop against a team that allows just 44.5 points per game at home. These two met in Oklahoma City in the 2010 NCAA tourney with the Panthers winning at the buzzer 69-66. Same result here. Take NORTHERN IOWA! |
11-26-17 | Duke v. Florida +2.5 | Top | 87-84 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 1 m | Show |
Duke vs. Florida 10:30 ET Gators (+) over Blue Devils- What do you do when your senior leader All-American guard Grayson Allen is in foul trouble and you are trailing Texas by 13-points in the second half. Well, if you are Duke you let one of the four freshman take over and 6'11” Marvin Bagley did just that scoring 34 points and adding 15 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils comeback. Florida will try and beat you with their backcourt led by Chris Chiozza who had 26 points and 10 assists in Florida's 111-105 double-overtime win over Gonzaga. Duke has dominated this series leading 13-4 but they are far from home and the Gators have enough experience and depth to win here. Take FLORIDA! |
11-20-17 | North Carolina v. Stanford +7 | 96-72 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 58 m | Show
North Carolina at Stanford 11:30 ET Cardinal (+) over Tar Heels- North Carolina the defending National Champions are 2-0 but some how ranked No. 9 as they travel to the West Coast for a four game swing. The Tar Heels have won all 10 previous meetings between the two and has won nine straight games against the PAC-12 while Stanford was 0-8 straight-up against ranked opponents last season. The Cardinal have four different players in double-figures and Maples Pavillon will be sold out for the first time in over three years. Carolina is just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games. Take STANFORD! |
11-18-17 | Princeton +4 v. St. Joe's | Top | 58-71 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 46 m | Show |
Princeton at St. Josephs 7:00 ET Tigers (+) over Hawks- My first impression without know who plays for who is that the Atlanta-10 should be favored over and Ivy League school. Now, St. Joes' is 1-1 after opening with a loss against Toledo and then defeating powerhouse Illinois-Chicago on the road. Now, the return home for their 'home opener and host Ivy power Princeton. The Tigers are 0-2 both straight-up and ATS losing to at Butler and at home as a beaten favorite against Brigham Young. It's a matter of numbers especially early in the season. The Hawks are way to small a favorite to be taken seriously here. The Tigers roar off with their first win. The difference in competition played is huge. Take PRINCETON! |
11-14-17 | Michigan State +2.5 v. Duke | 81-88 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 5 m | Show
Michigan State vs Duke 7:00 ET Spartans (+) over Blue Devils-What a great way to tap-off the NCAA basketball season but to have the nation's No. 1 and No. 2 teams face-off in Chicago. Of course Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski will have Grayson Allen along with four 'fresh' faces starting looking for their 7th straight win in this series which they lead 11-2. Michigan State coach Tom Izzo has an experienced club that has an edge over the youthful Blue Devils. Take MICHIGAN STATE! |
04-03-17 | North Carolina -1 v. Gonzaga | 71-65 | Win | 100 | 10 h 48 m | Show
Gonzaga vs North Carolina 9:20 ET Tar Heels (+) over Bulldogs- For the past year the Tar Heels have been carrying their buzzer beating loss to Villanova in last season's Championship loss and now have a chance to atone. North Carolina who leads the nation in rebounding will have to contend with a Gonzaga offense that ranks second nationally in field goal percentage (50.8) but are making their first NCAA final. The Tar Heels are making their 20th Final-4 appearances with five national championships and that experience and tradition will be enough. Take NORTH CAROLINA! |
04-01-17 | Oregon v. North Carolina UNDER 153 | 76-77 | Push | 0 | 23 h 3 m | Show
Oregon vs North Carolina 8:50 ET Ducks/Tar Heels Total (UNDER 152.5)- Both these clubs could put points on the board especially if they can get out and run the floor. But, these two squads are well coached and will value every possession and with both teams defending the hoop with their bigger men scoring won't come so easy. Here's one. The 'Under' is 11-3 in North Carolina vs the PAC-12. Take UNDER! |
04-01-17 | Oregon v. North Carolina -4.5 | Top | 76-77 | Loss | -115 | 23 h 6 m | Show |
Oregon (3) vs North Carolina (1) 8:50 ET Tar Heels (-) over Ducks- The last time Oregon was at the Final-4 (1939) the first of the NCAA Tournaments there were only eight teams invited as they were know as the Webfoots. On the other side the last time North Carolina was here Villanova threw it in at the buzzer to win it all and left the Tar Heels runner-up. Leading the nation with nine teams represented in the ACC is down to North Carolina who is 7-1 ATS in their last eight against the PAC-12 while Oregon is 17-7-1 ATS in their last 25 games. The Tar Heels who lead the nation in rebounding (+13) are also 4-0 lifetime against the Ducks and are in their 20th Final Four. Take NORTH CAROLINA! |
04-01-17 | South Carolina v. Gonzaga -6.5 | Top | 73-77 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 12 m | Show |
South Carolina (7) vs Gonzaga (1) 6:09 ET Bulldogs (-) over Gamecocks- Well, my question is, 'does anyone believe in Gonzaga now that they have reached the Final Four? I really don't think so. When I see this South Carolina team play (especially Sindarius Thornwell) I find it difficult to believe that they actually lost 10 games this season. We realize that the Gamecocks are led by their defense and they allow just 65 points per game but few realize the Bulldogs play great defense as well allowing just 60.9 points while averaging 83.2 points, SC scores 72.7 points per contest. The 'numbers' grade out to the Bulldogs advantage (big). Take GONZAGA! |
03-31-17 | Coastal Carolina +8.5 v. Wyoming | 59-83 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 46 m | Show
Coastal Carolina at Wyoming 7:00 ET Chanticleers (+) over Cowboys- We got what we expected in Game 2 of this Best-of-Three tournament as Coastal Carolina wan't able to handle the trip out west, the home crowd and the high altitude. Wyoming improved to 18-3 at home this season in their 81-57 rout of CC as the visitors shot 31.3% from the field. With three days to adjust and two days to lick their wounds the Chanticleers will be better this time out. Take COASTAL CAROLINA! |
03-30-17 | Georgia Tech +4 v. TCU | Top | 56-88 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
Georgia Tech vs Texas Christian 8:00 ET Yellow Jackets (+) over Horned Frogs- After getting 'crushed' in the NIT Tuesday I feel somewhat better after last night's win with Wyoming in the CBI as another of my 'Highest-Rated' releases. This one seems a bit odd as both these teams were a four seed and yet TCU comes up a strong favorite on a neutral court in New York. It seems even more out of the realm when we realize that Georgia Tech is 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games. The Horned Frogs are now 6-1 since dropping their final seven regular season games and have coach Jamie Dixon who is 27-15 lifetime at Madison Square Garden having led Pittsburgh to the Big East title nine years ago. In a tough one...take GEORGIA TECH! |
03-29-17 | Coastal Carolina v. Wyoming -8 | Top | 57-81 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show |
Coastal Carolina at Wyoming 9:00 ET Cowboys (-) over Chanticleers- To start with as a former High School teacher and coach I had to find out what a Chanticleer because I had no idea what I was writing about. Okay, it's a 'feisty rooster' in Fairy Tales, sort of like the idea that Coastal Carolina has a chance tonight. Not in my book! The Cowboys who are 3-10 on the road took it on the chin in Conway, South Carolina and now those 'feisty roosters' find themselves tied by a Cowboy lasso as Wyoming is 17-3 straight-up at home and 7-2 ATS in their last nine including their Game 1 loss. CC is just 3-10 on the road losing by a 11.2 average. Take WYOMING! |
03-28-17 | TCU v. UCF +2.5 | Top | 68-53 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 23 m | Show |
Texas Christian vs Central Florida 9:00 ET Knights (+) over Horned Frogs- A pair of No. 4 seeds meet at Madison Square Garden in New York City as the NIT plays their semi-final contests. Texas Christian has reeled off three impressive wins in the tourney after the season with seven straight wins. TCU coach Jamie Dixon has done a great job setting school the record for wins (22) and bring this long time basketball doormat some pride. The Knights are fifth in the nation in scoring defense allowing just 61 points per contest. Central Florida is actually a higher four seed and will be getting points. Take CENTRAL FLORIDA! |
03-28-17 | CS Bakersfield +2.5 v. Georgia Tech | Top | 61-76 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 50 m | Show |
Cal-State Bakersfield vs Georgia Tech 7:00 ET Roadrunners (+) over Yellow Jackets- Really now, how many of you were aware that Cal-State Bakersfield win the Western Athletic Conference regular season title. The Roadrunners feel that they have something to prove as they were left out of the 'Big Dance' after qualifying for the first time in school history last season. Bakersfield who is 19-6 ATS in their last 25 games 'lined' overall has a great balance with three seniors, a junior and sophomore starter that are looking to showcase their talent. Georgia Tech has 15 losses on the season and this will be their final one...Take CAL-STATE BAKERSFIELD! |
03-27-17 | Wyoming v. Coastal Carolina +1 | 81-91 | Win | 100 | 9 h 58 m | Show
Wyoming at Coastal Carolina 7:30 Chanticleers (+) over Cowboys- With their College Basketball Invitational victories Coastal Carolina has moved about the .500 mark on the season. There are virtually nothing to compare these two teams with as they play in conference that will never meet except under these type of tournament situations. What we have here are tow teams that excel at home but struggle on the road. Wyoming is just 3-9 straight-up as visitors while Coastal Carolina is 14-6 straight-up and 9-4-2 ATS while playing as hosts. With this a best 2-of-3 I'll start with the home team here. Take the CHANTICLEERS! |
03-26-17 | Kentucky +2.5 v. North Carolina | 73-75 | Win | 100 | 7 h 13 m | Show
Kentucky vs North Carolina 5:05 ET Wildcats (+) over Tar Heels- I love it! Two of the BEST! No. 1 seed North Carolina versus No. 2 seed Kentucky and two of the most storied programs in college basketball history. Kentucky enters with 14 straight wins and an SEC Championship and the Tar Heels are the All-time NCAA leader in victories (2,239). The key here is that Kentucky can win the money and not win the game. This game will be that close and the points could be the difference. The Wildcats are 20-8-1 ATS when under the spotlight on Sunday. Take KENTUCKY! |
03-26-17 | South Carolina v. Florida -3.5 | Top | 77-70 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 12 m | Show |
South Carolina vs Florida 2:20 ET Gators (-) over Gamecocks- Growing up within 30 miles of MSG when I was a youngster I realized South Carolina was always a New York favorite because of former Knicks star and Gamecocks coach Frank McGuire. So, I had no problem taking them against Baylor here in the Regional opener. Now, I see them in a position where it is so easy to take them after the way Florida blew a 12-point lead before beating Wisconsin 78-77. South Carolina is just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 overall and 1-9 ATS against the SEC. I have a source that I respect back 'East' who told mean South Carolina is the beat team left in the East and yet when this match-up was established his response was...'Fade them.' I trust him and I believe he is right. Take FLORIDA! |
03-25-17 | Oregon +7.5 v. Kansas | 74-60 | Win | 100 | 10 h 43 m | Show
Oregon vs Kansas 8:50 ET Ducks (+) over Jayhawks- How good did Kansas look on Thursday night, Purdue never really had a chance as the Jayhawks were just bigger, stronger and quicker against the over-matched Boilermakers. This time out they will be up against a different kind of animal as the Ducks can't fly but they can jump and they are quicker then the Hawks last Big Ten opponent. Oregon is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games as they enjoy the spotlight and they will have it here. This one comes down to the final buzzer. Take OREGON! |
03-25-17 | Oregon v. Kansas UNDER 157 | 74-60 | Win | 100 | 10 h 40 m | Show
Oregon/Kansas 8:50 UNDER Total- There is no question these two clubs are explosive offensively as both clubs can run the floor and can put up points. But this is not a regular seas encounter when Jayhawks games were 7-2 non-conference overs, but in NCAA Tournament games Kansas plays a different tune and goes under 27-10. Kansas is the first team since 1995 to score 90-plus points in each of their first three games in the Tournament and that ends here. Play this game UNDER! |
03-25-17 | Xavier v. Gonzaga -7.5 | Top | 59-83 | Win | 100 | 7 h 0 m | Show |
Xavier vs Gonzaga 6:09 ET Bulldogs (-) over Musketeers- The Musketeers pulled off the upset of the Tournament defeating Arizona 73-71 scoring the last nine points of the game over the final 2:39. Xavier has won three straight with guard Trevon Bluiett averaging 25 points and have never been to the Final Four and they are going to fall short once again. Gonzaga has never been there either and this will be their first trip to the Finals. These two clubs have met four times with the Bulldogs holding a 3-1 series lead and they will post another win with their heavy bodies leading the way. Take GONZAGA! |
03-24-17 | Wisconsin v. Florida -123 | 83-84 | Win | 100 | 13 h 19 m | Show
Wisconsin vs. Florida 9:55 ET Gators (+) over Badgers- Both these clubs have turned it up a notch and have been two off the more impressive teams in the tournament thus far. Wisconsin is coming off a win over No. 1 overall seed Villanova 65-62 and are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Florida who won back-to-back National Championships has changed their style from a smothering defense to averaging 78 points per game while Wisconsin who is trying to reach the Final Four for the three times in four years allows just 61.8 points per game. The Gators top scorer KeVaughn Allen is ready to break out after totaling just 11 points in the two victories. Take FLORIDA! |
03-24-17 | UCLA v. Kentucky +1 | Top | 75-86 | Win | 100 | 13 h 1 m | Show |
UCLA vs. Kentucky 9:35 ET Wildcats (+) over Bruins- Without a doubt this will be the most heavily 'played' game of the weekend as these two high scoring high profile programs clash late Friday night. Just to show how thing change during the season the first week of the December these two met in Lexington and the Bruins pulled out a 97-92 victory as an 11-point underdog. Now, on a neutral site they are favored. When you get this far a team need more then talent and coaching becomes a big part of how thing play out. The edge their goes to Kentucky with John Calipari as he is 10-2 straight-up and ATS in Sweet-16 games including 5-0 with the Wildcats. UCLA on the other hand is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Sweet-16 games. Take KENTUCKY! |
03-24-17 | South Carolina +4 v. Baylor | 70-50 | Win | 100 | 10 h 28 m | Show
South Carolina vs. Baylor 7:25 ET Gamecocks (+) over Bears- boy, it is so tough backing this South Carolina team as they have such difficulties putting the ball in the basket but shot 63% and 59.5% in the second half of. The fact that the Gamecocks are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 doesn't bother me although the Bears have won the last three meetings and 4-of-5 straight-up going 3-2 ATS. After upsetting Duke 88-81 the Gamecocks were subdued as coach Frank Martin said 'let's win this thing' and with the SEC Player of the Year Sindarius Thornwell they have a chance. Take SOUTH CAROLINA! |
03-23-17 | Purdue +5.5 v. Kansas | Top | 66-98 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 44 m | Show |
Purdue vs. Kansas 9:35 ET Boilermakers (+) over Jayhawks- According to Kansas coach Bill Self 'We haven't seen a team that plays through their bigs,' and they will get their chance Thursday. Purdue will count on Center Caleb Swanigan who keys their offense that averages over 80 points per game. The Jayhawks have gone 6-2 ATS in their last eight to rise their over ATS record to 13-18-1. This is not impressive but they have won 10-of-11 straight-up. Boilermakers are 6-1 both straight-up and ATS on neutral sites and Kansas is 5-3 both ways. In their last meetings the Jayhawks prevailed in the 2012 NCAA Tourney 63-60 as an 8-point favorite. Take PURDUE! |
03-23-17 | West Virginia +4 v. Gonzaga | 58-61 | Win | 100 | 10 h 46 m | Show
West Virginia vs. Gonzaga 7:35 ET Mountaineers (+) over Bulldogs- I hate to do it, because I really like this Bulldogs team but, the gods-that-be (Vegas) doesn't like their chances. To start with Gonzaga who is 22-9-1 ATS on the season is 0-2 ATS in the tourney so far as they face tougher competition progressively. These two have met three times the last in the first game of the 2012 NCAA tournament with the Bulldogs winning 77-54 defeating the Mountaineers for the third time without a loss. West Virginia has a 'chip' on their shoulder and will use their 'Press Virginia' defense that forces a nation leading 20.1 turnovers a game to lead the way. Take WEST VIRGINIA! |
03-23-17 | Michigan v. Oregon +1.5 | 68-69 | Win | 100 | 9 h 22 m | Show
Michigan vs. Oregon 7:05 ET Ducks (+) over Wolverines- Of course I am aware that Michigan is a 7-seed and is favored over a 3-seed and when this happens the lower seed (Michigan) usually win. That is because the Vegas odds-makers know more about who is good then the bias selection committee. Oregon showed their metal with a come-from-behind win over Rhode Island and are 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games. But, the Wolverines have much to boost about themselves as they are ranked first nationally in fewest turnovers per game at 9.2 and they are 4-0 lifetime against the Ducks. Michigan's run winning their last seven including the Big Ten title ends here as a beaten favorite. Take OREGON! |
03-22-17 | Utah Valley +3 v. Wyoming | 68-74 | Loss | -102 | 11 h 36 m | Show
Utah Valley State at Wyoming 9:00 ET Wolverines (+) over Cowboys- Now, I know you have heard of Wyoming because ah come-on it is a state but...Utah Valley State I just don't think so much. It's pretty difficult to come up with trends or other comparable stats as the Wolverines were only on the board five time this season. Although they entered tournament play Utah Valley is 5-0 ATS in lined games. The Wolves won six of their last seven with their only loss coming in overtime to Cal-Santa Barbara. Take UTAH VALLEY STATE! |
03-22-17 | CS Bakersfield +6.5 v. Texas-Arlington | Top | 80-76 | Win | 100 | 11 h 39 m | Show |
Cal-State-Bakersfield at Texas-Arlington 9:00 ET Roadrunners (+) over Mavericks- Two unusual suspects are vying for a trip to Madison Square Garden as the NIT continues in Arlington with the 27-8 Mavericks hosting 24-9 Cal State Bakersfield. Both clubs made it the hard way as the Mavs were seeded 6th and the Roadrunners 8th. But, Bakersfield routed both California and Colorado State while Arlington took out BYU in Provo and Akron at home. The Mavericks have won 17 straight at home and are undefeated 14-0 this season. But, the Roadrunners are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 road games and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games overall. I'll take the points. Take CAL-STATE BAKERSFIELD! |
03-22-17 | Illinois v. UCF -3.5 | 58-68 | Win | 100 | 9 h 46 m | Show
Illinois at Central Florida 7:00 ET Knight's (-) over Illini- Central Florida has made an incredible run under interim coach Jamall Walker who took over from fired coach John Groce on March 11. The Knights performed the near impossible feat by beating Illinois State on their floor where they had won 22 straight and now host Illinois who is just 3-6 on the road. The Illini sat at home and disposed of Valparaiso and Boise State and now will be the visitor where they haven't been at their beat. Take CENTRAL FLORIDA! |
03-21-17 | Richmond v. TCU -7 | 68-86 | Win | 100 | 9 h 40 m | Show
Richmond at Texas Christian 7:00 ET Horned Frogs (-) over Spiders- The 'Big-12' has accounted well for itself in the NCAA's and it's the Horned Frogs chance to impressive the NIT. What I'm getting at here is that Richmond who has a fine program has won more games and loss less games the Texas Christian they just don't have the pedigree or the horse to match-up with the Horned Frogs. TCU hung-on in overtime at Iowa posting a 94-92 win while the Spiders who are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games defeated Oakland at home 87-84. Welcome to Big-12 country. Take TEXAS CHRISTIAN! |
03-20-17 | Akron v. Texas-Arlington -5 | Top | 69-85 | Win | 100 | 8 h 11 m | Show |
Akron at Texas-Arlington 7:30 ET Mavericks (-) over Zips- Texas-Arlington has been under the radar all season but have posted some impressive wins including routing BYU at their place and handing St. Mary's one of their four losses the other three came from Gonzaga of course. Akron has had a wonderful season but have not rewarded their backers as they are just 13-18 ATS while the Mavericks are 17-11-1 ATS. They are also 13-0 straight-up at home. Take TEXAS-ARLINGTON! |
03-19-17 | Cincinnati +4.5 v. UCLA | Top | 67-79 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 56 m | Show |
Cincinnati vs UCLA 9:40 ET Bearcats (+) over Bruins- A huge contrast in styles will be facing off in Sacramento as the nation's highest scoring team UCLA (90.6) will be up against the nation's fifth best scoring defense (60.8) with Cincinnati. The Bearcats have held 28 of their 35 opponents under 70 points this season while the Bruins haven't scored less then 74 points in any game this season. UCLA averages 21.5 assists per game, the most in the NCAA since 1995 but it won't be enough. Take CINCINNATI! |
03-19-17 | USC v. Baylor -6.5 | 78-82 | Loss | -108 | 11 h 49 m | Show
USC vs Baylor 7:45 ET Bears (-) over Trojans- The 'Magic' ride for the Trojans end this afternoon in Tulsa where the Baylor Bears will end USC's dreams. They do lead the nation in double-digit comeback wins after trailing by 12 or more points winning 13 times in that fashion. The Baylor program has come a long way as their No. 3 seed will attest and they love playing on Sunday's when they are 9-4 ATS. The Trojans made a great comeback against Providence and took SMU down with a late surge, this time around they fall short. Take BAYLOR! |
03-19-17 | Arkansas +11.5 v. North Carolina | 65-72 | Win | 100 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Arkansas vs North Carolina 6:10 ET Razorbacks (+) over Tar Heels- This is a tough call as I believe the Tar Heels are going to advance to the Final Four and already routed Texas Southern 103-64. Although they have won nine of their last 11 Arkansas is 0-8 lifetime against No. 1 ranked teams and will have problems with the size of North Carolina. Seton Hall out-rebounded the Razorbacks by 14 boards on Friday and must control the ball to have any chance and they will. Take ARKANSAS! |
03-18-17 | St. Mary's +5.5 v. Arizona | Top | 60-69 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 23 m | Show |
St Mary's vs Arizona 7:40 ET Gaels (-) over Wildcats- This one can be a great match-up in Salt Lake City. Arizona set a season's high in points scored last time out when the trounced under-manned No. 15 seed North Dakota 100-82 in round one. St. Mary's defeated VCU 85-77 as they shot 56% in Thursday's round one win. The Gaels defense has lead the way this season holding opponents to 56.1 points second in the nation to Virginia as they are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight. St. Mary's has lost four games this season three of which were to No.1 seed Gonzaga and the other loss was to Texas Arlington. Take ST MARY'S! |
03-18-17 | Middle Tennessee v. Butler -3.5 | 65-74 | Win | 100 | 12 h 7 m | Show
Middle Tennessee State vs Butler 7:10 ET Bulldogs (-) over Blue Raiders- No. 12 seed Mid-Tenn State pulled off the upset everyone was expecting a 12th seed defeating No. 5 seed Minnesota as the favorite. Last season the Blue Raiders upset Michigan State and then fell to Syracuse and I expect more of the same in round two. The Raiders are 4-8 lifetime in the NCA Tournament but are 24-10 ATS this season while the Bulldogs are a respectable 18-12 ATS with two outright wins against the overall No. 1 seed Villanova. The have the perigee to win here, Take BUTLER! |
03-18-17 | Wisconsin +6 v. Villanova | 65-62 | Win | 100 | 8 h 5 m | Show
Wisconsin vs Villanova 2:40 ET Badgers (+) over Wildcats- There is plenty of big game experience as Wisconsin has been to the Final Four two of the past three season's while Villanova is defending National Champion. The Wildcats have defeated teams from the Big-Ten 11 of 12 times ATS but this is the first meeting in the NCAA tournament between these two. Defense will be the key between these two grizzled experienced clubs. Take the points, take WISCONSIN! |
03-17-17 | Kent State +18.5 v. UCLA | 80-97 | Win | 100 | 20 h 24 m | Show
Kent State (14) vs UCLA (3) 9:57 ET Golden Flashes (+) over Bruins- We all are aware of who the 'public' and media want here as the UCLA storyline is typical Hollywood crap. They have great talent we are all aware but don't always play both ends of the floor. There is concern over Lonzo Ball's thumb that he injured against Arizona and finished with only eight points. Hey while we are hear all kinds of stuff remember the 14th seed has had an upset win in each of the past four NCAA Tournaments. Take a shot...take KENT STATE! |
03-17-17 | Marquette v. South Carolina -118 | 73-93 | Win | 100 | 20 h 1 m | Show
Marquette (10) vs South Carolina (7) 9:50 ET Gamecocks over Golden Eagles- To start with this game is being played in Jim Boeheim's favorite city Greenville, South Carolina and that can only help a Frank Martin coached team. Marquette has the nation's top 3-point shooter with Markus Howard who will find little room to shoot as the Gamecocks will be swarming the floor. They will need that and more to win as they are a weak 41% shooting team. But with the crowd and intensity the 'Cocks' walk. Take SOUTH CAROLINA! |
03-17-17 | Kansas State v. Cincinnati -3 | Top | 61-75 | Win | 100 | 18 h 59 m | Show |
Kansas State (11) vs Cincinnati (6) 7:27 ET Bearcats (-) over Wildcats- 'We' posted Kansas State as a 'Megabucks Best Bet' on Tuesday and they responded by running Wake Forest off the court scoring 95 points. That many points for the Wildcats is an anomaly as they average just over 72 points per contest. Cincinnati very quietly has set as school record for wins (29) and will have a 'chip' (Ha) on their shoulder as coach Mike Cronin was miffed at the Bearcats seeding. I've never really had much luck with Cincinnati in big games but this just sets up so nice. Take CINCINNAT! |
03-17-17 | Oklahoma State +2.5 v. Michigan | Top | 91-92 | Win | 100 | 11 h 16 m | Show |
Oklahoma State (10) vs Michigan (7) 12:15 ET Cowboys (+) over Wolverines- The Wolverines come flying into Indianapolis have swept through the Big Ten Tournament taking no prisoners. Oklahoma State was in the same position as Michigan (both 20-11) and while the Maze and Blue won four straight the Cowboys got stomped by Iowa State. One thing that this has done is give Oklahoma State eight days to recover and put together solid practice time while Michigan has been basking in the Championship glory and the number show this does not bode well for them. The Cowboys enter with three straight losses and this is a great spot for them to put it together. Take OKLAHOMA STATE! |
03-16-17 | Virginia Tech v. Wisconsin -5.5 | Top | 74-84 | Win | 100 | 12 h 48 m | Show |
Virginia Tech (9) vs Wisconsin (8) 9:40 ET Badgers (-) over Hokies- The selection committee once again is under scrutiny and it's understandable why. I'm not going to go through it all as a number of 'lower' seeds end up the favorite but, that is not the case here. Wisconsin is making their 19th straight NCAA appearance while Virginia Tech is 'here' for the first time in 12 years. The Hokies have fared well against the Big Ten going 5-2-1 ATS in eight games and are 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 games. (That's pretty damn good!) But, the Badgers have big game experience and a defense that can shut down Delay and Allen and that will be enough. Note that tourney teams that lost their conference Championship game by more then 15 points are 23-7 ATS in the opening round. Take WISCONSIN! |
03-16-17 | VCU +4.5 v. St. Mary's | 77-85 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 32 m | Show
St. Mary's (7) vs Virginia Commonwealth (10) 7:20 ET Rams (+) over Gaels- The five returning starters St. Mary's used this season lost only three games this season in the weak West Coast Conference with all three losses to Gonzaga and the other loss to NIT bound Texas-Arlington. So with the impressive resume (really?) they garner a 7 seed and come up favored against VCU who lost in the Atlantic-10 Championship game to Rhode Island. This is the Rams seventh straight trip to the 'Dance' and that experience goes a long way in 'big' games. Take VCU! |
03-16-17 | Middle Tennessee v. Minnesota +1.5 | 81-72 | Loss | -107 | 6 h 17 m | Show
Middle Tennessee State (12) vs Minnesota (5) 4:00 ET Gophers (+) over Blue Raiders- Mid-Tenn St is supposed to be the 'best team you have never heard of' but most knowledgeable handicappers know exactly who the Blue Raiders are and now I'm afraid almost everyone understands how good they are! Think of it, the 12th seed is favored over the 5th seed. Is that the work of Las Vegas or the selection committee? Richard Pitino in his 4th year has done a great job with Minnesota and like other coached 'Pitino' teams they have gotten better as the season rolls on. The most popular trend now among the media is the 12 seed defeating the 5 seed. I am surprise the Gophers are seeded this high and the Blue Raiders this low. But, I'm siding with the Committee on this one. Take MINNESOTA! |
03-15-17 | Texas-Arlington +5.5 v. BYU | Top | 105-89 | Win | 100 | 13 h 43 m | Show |
Texas Arlington at Brigham Young 9:00 ET Mavericks (+) over Cougars- These type of match-ups are difficult to handicap because of the drastic differences in their conference play. When going over the schedules I find that Texas-Arlington have defeated three NCAA tournament teams and defeated Texas for haha's 72-61 in Austin. BYU of course plays in a weak conference as well and were just pounded by St. Mary's 81-50 a team the Mavericks beat St. Mary's 65-51. Add that the Cougars have lost three players to injury during the course of the season and are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall. TAKE TEXAS-ARLINGTON! |
03-15-17 | USC v. Providence +2.5 | Top | 75-71 | Loss | -104 | 11 h 54 m | Show |
Southern California vs Providence 9:10 ET Friars (+) over Trojans- An oddity about this match-up is that they played each other in the first round game last season and the Friars took down the Trojans 70-69 on a buzzer beater to advance. USC has made the tourney for the 2nd straight year and for Providence this is their 4th straight appearance. The Trojans come to Dayton with losses in five of the their last eight while the Friars had won six straight before bowing to Creighton. Providence who is a money maker at 20-12 ATS for the season and are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games. Playing well and with confidence take...PROVIDENCE |
03-15-17 | South Dakota +12 v. Iowa | 75-87 | Push | 0 | 11 h 51 m | Show
South Dakota at Iowa 7:00 ET Coyotes (+) over Hawkeyes- Have any of you seen South Dakota play? Living in out west in Las Vegas 'we' get to see games broadcast from every region and at any hour. So, I can honestly say I never really paid attention to the Summit League. Iowa made the Tourney the last three season but failed this year because to tell the truth they just weren't that good. Although they were 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 home games they and could host three NIT games the Coyotes are 20-8-2 ATS in their last 30 games overall. Take SOUTH DAKOTA! |
03-14-17 | Richmond v. Alabama -7 | 71-64 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 30 m | Show
Richmond vs. Alabama 9:15 ET Crimson Tide (-) over Spiders- I must admit I'm a little annoyed over the fact that I pass on the Tide their last time out a straight-up loss 79-74 to Kentucky but a point spread 'cover.' Richmond lost their opportunity for a 'Ticket' when the failed in overtime against VCU on Saturday losing 87-77 as a 6.5 point dog. The Spiders have trouble off the boards were they ranked No. 325 in Division I while Alabama ranks No. 31. I like what I've seen from Avery Johnson and the Tide roll. Take ALABAMA! |
03-14-17 | Kansas State -110 v. Wake Forest | Top | 95-88 | Win | 100 | 11 h 33 m | Show |
Kansas State vs. Wake Forest 9:10 ET Wildcats (+) over Demon Deacons- These two clubs are right where they are supposed to be and they were both good to me during the regular season. Both squads come in off of loses (of course, otherwise they would have won their conference tournaments) and are break NCAA droughts here. This is the first appearance in the 'Big Dance' for Wake Forest since 2009-10 and it's been two years for Kansas State. Playing early in the week doesn't bother the Wildcats as they are 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games on Tuesdays. That's enough for me...Take KANSAS STATE! |
03-14-17 | Ole Miss +2.5 v. Monmouth | 91-83 | Win | 100 | 9 h 39 m | Show
Mississippi at Monmouth 7:00 ET Rebels (+) over Hawks- for the second straight season the Monmouth Hawks find themselves in the NIT and are bitterly disappointed. They missed out last season losing in the Metro Atlantic semi-finals last year to Iona and this season to Siena. The problem here any team that loses to Iona and Siena when it counts most can not be trusted. AN inflated record has them a favorite over an Ole Miss squad that is 8-3-1 ATS on the road. Take MISSISSIPPI! |
03-12-17 | Cincinnati +2 v. SMU | Top | 56-71 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 9 m | Show |
Cincinnati vs SMU 3:15 ET Bearcats (+) over Mustangs- The 'hottest' team entering the play-downs is Southern Methodist who has won 15 straight and 25 of their last 26 after a 4-3 start and are 21-6-1 ATS in their last 28 games overall. Cincinnati who has had many great teams in the past has already set a school record with 29 wins and is seeking their first conference title since they won the Conference USA tournament in 2004 where Bob Huggins was coaching. The Bearcats clear the hurdle here. Take CINCINNATI! |
03-12-17 | Michigan +2 v. Wisconsin | 71-56 | Win | 100 | 3 h 57 m | Show
Michigan vs Wisconsin 3:00 ET Wolverines (+) over Badgers- It happens every season where an upstart (8th seed) runs the table and captures the automatic bid to the Big Dance. Wisconsin who were the early season favorite started the season 18-1 but have dropped five of their last nine including two Big Ten playoff victories. Michigan who will be the lowest seed to win the Big Ten if they prevail and they have won four straight and nine of the last 11. Stay with the hot hand here. Take MICHIGAN! |
03-12-17 | Arkansas v. Kentucky -7.5 | 65-82 | Win | 100 | 1 h 0 m | Show
Arkansas vs Kentucky 1:00 ET Wildcats (+) over Razorbacks- The Wildcats who are considered 'over-rated' by most of the media have won their last 10 contests and are 30-10 all-time in the SEC tournament. Kentucky has won the SEC title three of the past four years and are 8-3 ATS at neutral sites. Arkansas has won eight of their last nine after getting routed 97-71 by the Wildcats in Lexington and are 7-2 ATS in their span. But, the Wildcats have gotten better under Calipari and capture the title here. Take KENTUCKY! |
03-11-17 | Duke -4.5 v. Notre Dame | Top | 75-69 | Win | 100 | 9 h 1 m | Show |
Duke vs. Notre Dame 9:00 ET Fighting Irish (+) over Blue Devils- 'We' missed out on the Irish last time out but cashed-in huge with Duke as our 6th straight 'Highest-Rated' Megabucks winner and now more of the same tonight. This should be a great basketball game as both teams are fundamentally sound with the Blue Devils winning the only meeting 84-74 at Notre Dame. Despite that win, Duke is just 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings but they are BACK. Take DUKE! |
03-11-17 | Colorado State +5 v. Nevada | Top | 71-79 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 54 m | Show |
Colorado State vs Nevada-Reno 6:00 ET Rams (+) over Wolfpack- There is not doubt in my mind that The Wolfpack are the 'class' of a very weak Mountain West Conference. Both these clubs enter this Championship contest on winning streak not only straight up but ATS as well. Nevada is 37-15-2 ATS in their last 54 games (that's two season's worth) and Colorado State is 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 this season. A thought to remember is that even though this game is being played in Nevada, Las Vegas does not welcome their rivals from the north. Home court dis-advantage. Take COLORADO STATE! |
03-11-17 | Northwestern v. Wisconsin -4.5 | 48-76 | Win | 100 | 4 h 32 m | Show
Northwestern vs. Wisconsin 3:30 ET Badgers (-) over Wildcats- The 'Magic Carpet' ride for the Wildcats will end here but Northwestern with 23 wins has I believe done enough to capture an NCAA bid. The 'Cats have already defeated the Badgers 66-59 in Madison who have rebounded nicely after losing five of six. This is Northwestern's first trip to the Big Ten semi-finals while Wisconsin is trying to reach the title game for the seventh time. The 'cream' rises and it will today. Take the BADGERS! |
03-10-17 | Northwestern +1.5 v. Maryland | 72-64 | Win | 100 | 9 h 9 m | Show
Northwestern vs Maryland 8:55 ET Wildcats (+) over Terrapins- The media is 'nuts' for Northwestern! It is one of the most reputable journalists school in the country and Their bias and bigoted sports writer options are all over the Wildcats. I hope they are right as here is Maryland virtually playing in their own backyard seeded No. 3 and such a small (under a bucket) favorite. The Terrapins slumped down the stretch losing four of their last five ATS while the Wildcats dropped six of their last nine. Confident Northwestern is come to play tonight. Take the WILDCATS! |
03-10-17 | TCU +4.5 v. Iowa State | 63-84 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 23 m | Show
Texas Christian vs. Iowa State 7:00 ET Horned Frogs (+) over Cyclones- Yes, I am aware that the Horned Frogs are coming off the biggest win in school history and that they are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 and I am also aware that Iowa State is 6-2 in their last eight Big-12 contests. But, I am also aware that the Cyclones were geared-up to face No.1 and all everything Kansas and a bit of their adrenaline has slipped away. TCU entered the tournament losers of seven straight and are looking to win the rubber match as these two split their two meetings. Just the shock of playing the Horned Frogs will help make the Cyclone feel a little 'off.' Take TEXAS CHRISTIAN! |
03-10-17 | Duke +4.5 v. North Carolina | Top | 93-83 | Win | 100 | 8 h 20 m | Show |
Duke vs. North Carolina 7:00 ET Blue Devils (+) over Tar Heels- Oh boy, I mean, Oh Boy I get to root for the biggest asshole in college basketball. Ya know I don't mind rooting for Duke but I can't stand them now because of Grayson Allen's antics. He just lost me completely with that flagrant elbow he threw out for no absolute reason. These two met just six-days ago as North Carolina won along with a dominating revenge win over Miami on Thursday. This time it's the Blue Devils revenge as the enter this contest with two Barclays Center wins under their belt. Take DUKE! |
03-09-17 | Virginia -4 v. Notre Dame | 58-71 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 14 m | Show
Virginia vs. Notre Dame 9:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Fighting Irish- Half way through the season I thought that Virginia was Final-Four material but a late season swoon where they lost five of six put them on the back burner. The guess what? The Cavaliers turn it on and are now winners of four straight including a win over North Carolina and their first round win here over Pittsburgh 75-63 yesterday. The Irish had posted six straight wins before closing the regular season with a loss at Louisville. Notre Dame leads the nation in free throw percentage (80.9), are well coached and will put up a good fight but it won't be enough. Take VIRGINIA! |
03-09-17 | Creighton v. Providence +2.5 | 70-58 | Loss | -107 | 9 h 2 m | Show
Creighton vs. Providence 9:30 ET Friars (+) over Bluejays- What could have been a break-out season for Creighton has taken a detour since the injury to Maurice Watson. One of the best point guards in the country is sorely missed as they have gone 5-7 since after an 18-1 start. After dropping four of five Providence has turned things around winning their last six including a 68-66 win at Creighton. These two met in the Bg East championship game in 2014 and the Friars prevailed as they will tonight. Take PROVIDENCE! |
03-09-17 | Kansas State +5.5 v. Baylor | Top | 70-64 | Win | 100 | 9 h 0 m | Show |
Kansas State at Baylor 9:00 ET Wildcats (+) over Bears- This one is tough for me because on a 'personal' level I like this Baylor team because they play defense but, this match-up and situation has forced me to move to the 'dark side.' To start with the underdog in this series is 18-7-1 in the last 26 meetings including a series split this season. Kansas State is pretty much in the position that they have to make a good showing in the Big-12 Playoffs in order in insure an NCAA bid. Oh by the way the Wildcats play some pretty good defense themselves. Take KANSAS STATE! |
03-08-17 | UNLV +9.5 v. San Diego State | 52-62 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 38 m | Show
San Diego State at UNLV 7:00 ET Rebels (+) over Aztcs- Not finished yet with the most losses in school history UNLV will have to end their season walking off their home court with tier tail between their legs once again. Note that San Diego State 18-7-2 against the Rebels in the last 27 meetings and UNLV is 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall. So, this should be an easy walk-over shouldn't it...well, not so fast. Granted the Aztecs are a much better then the Rebels but just how superior are they? After all, the are just 3-9 straight-up on the road and the problem here is no UNLV or the home court but their looking past the Rebels who they defeated by 13-points in both meetings this season. Take UNLV! |
03-08-17 | Oklahoma +2.5 v. TCU | 63-82 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 35 m | Show
Oklahoma vs TCU 7:00 ET Sooners (+) over Horned Frogs- Three weeks ago TCU appeared to have their ticket punched for the Big Dance but a seven games losing streak has put them into the also-ran tournaments. Oklahoma has had once of their worst season in decades but are off a win over TCU in Norman 73-68 on Saturday. The Sooners are 17-3 lifetime in the series including a 3-1 advantage on a neutral court. This is the worst season and lowest seed (9th) for the Sooners since Lon Kruger took over six years ago. Note that TCU is 1-7 ATS in their last eight games overall. Take OKLAHOMA! |
03-08-17 | Georgetown v. St. John's +1.5 | Top | 73-74 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show |
Georgetown vs Saint John's 7:00 ET Red Storm (+) over Hoyas- There was a day I remember when this two would be fighting it out to play Villanova in the national champions game but long gone in the Big East and what we have left is a pair of Jesuit schools doing their best going a combined 12-24 in league play with the Hoyas posting only five wins in 18 tries. Georgetown has lost five straight entering this contest and one of those losses was against the Red Storm in Queens 10 days ago. More of the same. Take ST. JOHN'S! |
03-07-17 | Pittsburgh -1.5 v. Georgia Tech | Top | 61-59 | Win | 100 | 9 h 5 m | Show |
Pittsburgh vs Georgia Tech 7:00 ET Panthers over Yellow Jackets- I usually don't get too excited about these early round conference championship games but as a 'handicapper' I like what I see here. I see Pittsburgh who has lost their last four games open the favorite even though they are not even a .500 club. The Panthers have already lost to Georgia Tech in Atlanta and they bring an incredible 9-25 ATS in their last 34 games on Tuesdays. (Really ? Yep) The Yellow Jackets are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall but are going down here. The Panthers have played more Top-25 opponents (11) then any other team in the nation. Take PITTSBURGH! |
03-05-17 | Michigan v. Nebraska +4.5 | 93-57 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 41 m | Show
Michigan at Nebraska 8:00 ET Cornhuskers (+) over Wolverines- If there ever was a 'bubble' team that needs a win to enhance their resume it is 19-11 Michigan. The Wolverines are off a loss to Northwestern Wednesday but have won five of their last seven and they have defeated Nebraska nine straight times and the last four by and average margin of 15.5 points. The Cornhuskers have lost their last three after a disappointing effort against Minnesota and 11-of-14 after starting 3-0 in the Big-12. I know that these two haven't played much against each other in the pst but the Huskers haven't defeated Michigan since 1964. Yeah, well, these Wolverines are 2-8 both straight-up and ATS in their 10 road games while Nebraska is 8-7 at home. No pressure here. Take NEBRASKA! |
03-05-17 | Minnesota v. Wisconsin -7.5 | Top | 49-66 | Win | 100 | 8 h 45 m | Show |
Minnesota at Wisconsin 6:00 ET Badgers (-) over Gophers- Something that looked like a given 10-days ago is now the focal point of Sunday's season ended match-up between the Badgers and Gopher as the No. 2 seed and 'double-bye' are at steak here. This situation exists because Wisconsin could not take care of business losing five of their last six games while Minnesota is riding an eight game winning streak. The Badgers are 14-2 at home and have won 20-of-22 as hosts and have won the last six meetings. In a reversal the Badgers come up with the performance they need today. Take WISCONSIN! |
03-05-17 | Penn State +6.5 v. Iowa | 79-90 | Loss | -105 | 3 h 38 m | Show
Penn State at Iowa 1:00 ET Nittany Lions (+) over Hawkeyes- The trends in this contest are pointing so strongly in one direction that I start to look at a chance in direction. To start with Penn State has dropped their last four while Iowa has won their last three and is 28-15 in this series, 16-3 in Iowa City and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 home games. Speaking of home games the home team is 13-6 ATS in the last 19 meetings and Penn State is just 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Iowa. So there you have it...all the reasons I'm taking the Lions. Take PENN STATE! |
03-04-17 | Duke v. North Carolina -6.5 | 83-90 | Win | 100 | 13 h 37 m | Show
Duke at North Carolina 8:15 ET Tar Heels (-) over Blue Devils- This of course is the match-up of the day as these two ACC and Carolina schools clash once again. The Tar Heels who dropped a 86-78 decision to the Blue Devils in Durham own at least a share of the ACC Title and No.1 playoff seed. Don't think that their motivation will be questioned here as got caught looking ahead last time out in their loss at Virginia 53-43. Not only are the Tar Heels 20-7 ATS in their last 27 home games bit Duke is just 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 road games. Take NORTH CAROLINA! |

03-04-17 | Kansas v. Oklahoma State | Top | 90-85 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 28 m | Show |
Kansas at Oklahoma State 6:00 ET Cowboys over Jayhawks- With the Jayhawks already clinching their 13th consecutive Big-12 regular season title their sites will be set of the conference tournament ahead. Nothing changes for them win or lose. Oklahoma State on the other hand start Big-12 play 0-6 and have gone 10-2 since including a loss at Iowa state last time out. Looking at the trends Kansas is 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 Big-12 games while the Cowboys are 10-2 in their last 12 overall and 8-1 ATS on the past nine Saturdays. Take OKLAHOMA STATE! |
03-04-17 | Wake Forest +2 v. Virginia Tech | 89-84 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show
Wake Forest at Virginia Tech 4:30 ET Demon Deacons (+) over Hokies- Both Wake Forest and Virginia Tech are off upset wins over ranked teams last time out as the Deacons defeated No. 8 Louisville on Wednesday and the Hokies defeated No. 25 Miami Monday night. The Demon Deacons who are looking to get to the break-even mark in the ACC (most ACC wins since 2009-10) have lost six of seven conference games by narrow margins including losing three in-a-row against the Hokies by a combined 10 points. Take WAKE FOREST! |
03-02-17 | California +2.5 v. Utah | 44-74 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 37 m | Show
California at Utah 11:00 ET Golden Bears (+) over Utes- Both these clubs can use a late season push to qualify for the 'Tournament' as double-digit losses when playing in the Pac-12 doesn't cut it. California won the first meeting 77-75 in double-overtime but Utah has won five of the last seven meetings. It seems a bit strange to me that the Utes are such a small favorite at home where they are 12-3 straight-up at home. I'll take CALIFORNIA! |
03-02-17 | Iowa v. Wisconsin -12 | Top | 59-57 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
Iowa at Wisconsin 9:00 ET Badgers (-) over Hawkeyes- Wisconsin was leading the Big Ten two weeks ago but has fallen a game-an-a-half behind Purdue after dropping four of their last five contests losing three straight road games. I look for the Badgers to bounce-back here as they are 14-1 straight-up at home while Iowa is just 3-9 both straight-up and ATS on the road this season while going 4-12 ATS in their last 16 road games. Wisconsin has won the last six meetings and 12 of 13 at home against the Hawkeyes. The Badgers will do it with defense here and dominate...take WISCONSIN! |
03-02-17 | Nebraska +7.5 v. Minnesota | 73-88 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 40 m | Show
Nebraska at Minnesota 7:00 ET Cornhuskers (+) over Gophers- After gong 8-23 last season the Richard Pitino lead Gophers have won 22 games (the biggest turn around in NCAA) and will receive an invitation to the 'Big Dance.' Nebraska meanwhile needs a win to avoid a play-in game for the Big Ten tournament. The Cornhuskers will have to use their strong board play as they have out-rebounded its last eight opponents and has defeated Minnesota four of the past five meetings. In an oddity Nebraska is 12-4 on Thursdays and will get the money once again. Take the CORNHUSKERS! |
03-01-17 | Michigan State v. Illinois -2 | 70-73 | Win | 100 | 10 h 37 m | Show
Michigan St at Illinois 9:00 ET Illini over Spartans- With the pressure on both these clubs have responded with by putting wins together as Illinois has won their last three and the Spartans their last two. With both clubs 'on-the-bubble' so to speak as their finals games and conference tournament may make the difference. The fact that Illinois opened the favorite tells me Vegas believes the host have a decent shot at winning here. The Spartans keep losing player playing time to injuries and Illinois is good enough to take advantage. Take the ILLINI! |
03-01-17 | Louisville v. Wake Forest +4 | Top | 81-88 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
Louisville at Wake Forest 9:00 ET Demon Deacons (+) over Cardinals- The quite surprise in the ACC this season has been the emergence of Wake Forest who have played tough against the upper tier in the conference scoring 81.6 points per game. Louisville is off a beat down of Syracuse 88-68 Sunday as their poor shooting didn't factor in this contest. The Cardinals have been doing it with defense as their offensive woes show up much to often as they have failed to 'cover' in four of their last six. Louisville has a major problem at the free throw line where they are just 20-of-43 in their last two road games and 45-of-81 overall in their past four games overall. Take WAKE FOREST! |
03-01-17 | Connecticut v. East Carolina +3 | 62-66 | Win | 100 | 8 h 50 m | Show
Connecticut at East Carolina 7:00 ET Pirates (+) over Huskies- Connecticut who has been a powerhouse for the past two decades have found themselves floundering at 14-14 having lost their last two contests. The Huskies have dominated this series winning seven of eight meetings including a 72-65 home win earlier this season. Connecticut hasn't won a road game without the injured Jalen Adams who is questionable for tonight's contest. East Carolina is 11-5 straight-up at home and 6-3 ATS in lined games. Take EAST CAROLINA. |
02-28-17 | Pittsburgh +2 v. Georgia Tech | 52-61 | Loss | -101 | 10 h 42 m | Show
Pittsburgh at Georgia Tech 9:00 ET Panthers (+) over Yellow Jackets- Two of the ACC clubs struggling to stay above the break-even point meet in Atlanta where Georgia Tech (16-13) hosts Pittsburgh (15-14) with both clubs losing their last two games. The Panthers who have dropped three-of-four have two of the top-4 leading scorers in the ACC including the conference leading scorer in Michael Young at 20.2 per contest. Pittsburgh is 6-2 ATS in their last eight games and get the cash here. Take the PANTHERS! |
02-28-17 | Georgetown +4.5 v. Seton Hall | 59-62 | Win | 100 | 7 h 55 m | Show
Georgetown at Seton Hall 6:30 ET Hoyas (+) over Pirates- The Hoyas might just play themselves out of the NIT if they don't turn things around soon. With three straight losses Georgetown is heading south fast under the 'magic' break-even point. The Hoyas have struggled against the book maker this season going 9-18 on the season including 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games. Seton Hall has won the past three in the series including an overtime 2-point win in DC. This time the Hoyas keep it close. Take GEORGETOWN! |
02-28-17 | Maryland v. Rutgers +6 | Top | 79-59 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
Maryland at Rutgers 6:30 ET Scarlet Knights (+) over Terrapins- The best thing for the Big Ten about this game is that somebody is actually going to get a win. Between the two of them 'they' have lost eight straight with Maryland on a three-game slide and the Knights taking it on the chin in their last five contests. It is hard for me to comprehend why this line is so low when you figure Rutgers has only two conference wins and they are by a total of three points and they are 19-41 ATS in their last 60 vs. the Big Ten. I know it is asking a lot but the play is RUTGERS! |
02-27-17 | Miami (Fla) +1 v. Virginia Tech | Top | 61-66 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 15 m | Show |
Miami-Fl at Virginia Tech 9:00 ET Hurricanes (+) over Hokies- Both clubs picking-up the pace with Miami on a 4-game win streak and Virginia Tech winners of their last two with both squads at 20-8 over all. The Hurricanes are off two upset wins of ranked clubs defeating Virginia and Duke while the Hokies had a party against Boston College Saturday. Defense has been the key for Miami who held Virginia and Duke to a combined 31.6% shooting. The 'Gobblers' are coming off their best shooting (67.4%) game in ACC history and will find it more difficult to find good shots tonight. Take HURRICANES! |
02-27-17 | West Virginia v. Baylor +1 | 62-71 | Win | 102 | 8 h 28 m | Show
West Virginia at Baylor 7:00 ET Mountaineers (+) over Bears- Some teams just can't handle the spot-light, like many other once they are acclaimed they then go straight in the tank. Seven weeks ago Baylor was named No. 1 and since have lost five of their last eight games including a loss at Iowa State on Saturday. The start of the Bears demise was a visit to Morgantown where the Mountaineers press cause 29 turnovers in a 89-68 beating. Baylor who is 1-8 ATS in their last nine home games have got to show greater effort off the glass. In Ames they were pounded 37-17 rebounding disadvantage including 26-2 on offensive boards. This means the Bears Johnathan Motley has got come and 'play.' Take BAYLOR! |
02-27-17 | North Carolina v. Virginia +3.5 | Top | 43-53 | Win | 100 | 9 h 32 m | Show |
North Carolina at Virginia 7:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Tar Heels- North Carolina enters this contest having won their last four and with the ACC No. 1 seed in the already clinched with this game and Duke on Saturday remaining. Virginia just ended a 4-game losing streak with a win at N.C. State 70-55 as the continue to lead the nation in scoring defense. The Tar Heels who lead the nation in rebounding margin (+13.6), rebounds (44.2) and offensive rebounds (16.1) defeated the Cavaliers 65-41 in Chapel Hill eight days ago. With their confidence restored and revenge over their embarrassing performance in the first meeting likes the fact that the home team is 9-2 ATS in the series. Take VIRGINIA! |
02-26-17 | Butler v. Xavier +2 | Top | 88-79 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 5 m | Show |
Butler at Xavier 3:30 ET Musketeers (+) over Bulldogs- A pair of streaking clubs face-off at Cintas Center in Cincinnati where Xavier who has lost their last four hosts Butler who has won their last three, including their second win this season over Villanova last time out. Without point guard Edmond Summer, Xavier is falling out of the 'Big Dance' picture and has gone 1-8 ATS in their last nine contests. Although the Bulldogs have played well of late going 25-12-1 ATS in their last 38 they are just 2-10-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings against the Musketeers. Take XAVIER! |
02-26-17 | Cincinnati v. UCF +6 | 49-53 | Win | 100 | 5 h 43 m | Show
Cincinnati at Central Florida 3:00 ET Knights (+) over Bearcats- Cincinnati seeks their 19th win in their last 20 games this after noon as they invade Orlando to play Central Florida who has won their last three after dropping six of their previous seven. The Bearcats lead the all-time series 8-0 including a 60-50 win on February 8th but just do not seem to play well on Sunday's when the weekend spotlight on them they are just 15-36 ATS when playing on Sundays. The Knights are 12-3 straight-up at home and will bring this down to the final buzzer. Take CENTRAL FLORIDA |
02-26-17 | Syracuse v. Louisville -10 | 68-88 | Win | 100 | 4 h 45 m | Show
Syracuse at Louisville 2:00 ET Cardinals (-) over Orange- The talk among the 'genie's that surround college basketball are sure Syracuse (17-12) are getting invited to the 'Big Dance' because of their wins over ranked teams. But, their most recent win over Duke ended a 3-game losing streak and upped their home record to 15-3, the problem here is this game in being played in Louisville where the Cardinals are 14-1 straight-up as where the Orange are just 2-9 both straight-up and ATS on the road. Louisville leads the all-time series 17-8 winning four of the last five and they are 13-6-1 in their last 20 home games. Take LOUISVILLE! |
02-25-17 | UCLA +1 v. Arizona | Top | 77-72 | Win | 100 | 19 h 18 m | Show |
UCLA At Arizona 8:15 ET Bruins (+) over Wildcats- Well, this is how it should be, the bream of the Pac-12 facing off on a Saturday afternoon as No. 4 Arizona hosts No. 5 UCLA. In the first meeting the Wildcats took apart the Bruins at Pauley Pavillon in January and now they host at McKale Center where they are 16-0 on the season. Even though UCLA is just 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 8-20 ATS in their last 28 in Pac-12 play they lead the nation in assists a game with 22 per and the underdog is 11-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings between these competitors while the Wildcats have 'covered' just once in their last eight home games. Take UCLA! |
02-25-17 | Purdue v. Michigan +1 | 70-82 | Win | 100 | 14 h 15 m | Show
Purdue at Michigan 4:00 ET Wolverines (+) over Boilermakers- Looking at all the numbers or ah trends they come pretty heavy on the Boilermakers who need win to maintain their one-game Big Ten lead over Wisconsin. Purdue has reeled off six straight wins and three of the last four meetings as well as 7-1-1 in the last nine meetings. Oh, and there is more, the conference leaders are 7-0-2 ATS the last nine Saturdays and they are 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 Big Ten encounters. Yet with all these 'numbers' lined up the 'Makers' are less then a field goal. Very suspicious to me. Michigan is 14-2 straight-up at home and will win here. Take the WOLVERINES! |
02-25-17 | Virginia Tech v. Boston College +6 | 91-75 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 8 m | Show
Virginia Tech at Boston College 4:00 ET Eagles (+) over Hokies- The days of O'Brien, Evens and Kvancz (1967-68) along with Terry Driscoll have flown away for the Eagles as they host this game at Chestnut Hill in the mist of an 11-game losing streak. Boston College is actually 8-9 at home this season was competitive against the Hokies at there place in January 79-85 (+13). The Eagles lead the series 18-10 and are 11-2 straight-up at home against Tech and the Hokies will be short a man. Line seems suspect. Take BOSTON COLLEGE! |
02-25-17 | Duke v. Miami (Fla) +3 | Top | 50-55 | Win | 100 | 15 h 7 m | Show |
Duke at Miami-Fl 4:00 ET Blue Devils (-) over Hurricanes- Boy, I wish I was at this one. I have an 'interest' in both sides as these two combined are 20-32 ATS this season. Duke is 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 road games and Miami-Fl is 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games overall and 3-11 ATS in their last 14 home games. The Blue Devils posted a 70-58 victory over the Canes in January so Miami has a revenge mode to working for them and the Devils have North Carolina on senior day coming up. Duke is off a loss at Syracuse Wednesday while Miami has won their last three coming off an overtime win at Virginia 54-48. Duke is struggling and the Canes can win here. Take MIAMI-FL. |
