01-11-19 | Indiana v. Maryland -5.5 | 75-78 | Loss | -118 | 8 h 29 m | Show
Indiana at Maryland 7:00 ET Terrapins (-) over Hoosiers- Wait a second...No. 22 Indiana visits unranked Maryland an is a heavy underdog when considering the Terrapins are playing four freshman and the fact that they are 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games at home. The 'Turtles' have won their last four Big Ten matchups and are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall and the favorite is 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings. The Hoosiers have only played four road games and are 1-3 SU and are off of a road loss to Michigan. The Terps are 9-2 SU at home and get the money here. Take MARYLAND! |
01-10-19 | Washington -2 v. Utah | 69-53 | Win | 100 | 9 h 54 m | Show
Washington at Utah 10:00 ET Huskies over Utes- It appears to me (it seems obvious) that Utah is in a down turn as their 7-7 straight-up record would indicate. Washington may be the best in the Pac-12 and that isn't really saying that much. This is just the third true road game for the Huskies and the are 0-2 SU but open the favorite here. The Utes maybe 5-1 SU at home but they are just 2-4 ATS and have just one quality win (if you call it that) over Arizona State while the Huskies have won their last three but have quality losses to Virginia Tech and Gonzaga. Take WASHINGTON! |
01-10-19 | SMU +3 v. Connecticut | 64-76 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 7 m | Show
S.M.U at Connecticut 7:00 ET Mustangs (+) over Huskies- A pair of AAC clubs matchup at Connecticut where the former power house Huskies will host SMU. UConn has lost their last three while the Mustangs have won their last four and the trends continue to back SMU. The Mustangs are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games overall while the home team is 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings. But, the 'price' of this battle tells me the Huskies no long make the grade. Take SOUTHERN METHODIST! |
01-10-19 | Cincinnati v. Tulsa +7 | 70-65 | Win | 100 | 6 h 60 m | Show
Cincinnati at Tulsa 7:00 ET Golden Hurricane (+) over Bearcats- This AAC matchup pits one of the conference powers in Cincinnati who were upset last weekend by East Carolina and will look to 'right' the ship at Tulsa. The Bearcats are one of the toughest defensive teams in the nation hold opponents to 59.2 points per game but Tulsa's home court advantage may be too much to overcome. The Golden Hurricane have won their last 15 straight as hosts and 24 of their last 26 at the Reynolds Center and are 22-7 ATS in their last 29 as hosts. Tulsa 9-0 SU at home...take GOLDEN HURRICANE! |
01-09-19 | Arizona v. Stanford +3.5 | 75-70 | Loss | -107 | 11 h 10 m | Show
Arizona at Stanford 11:00 ET Cardinal (+) over Wildcats- The 'numbers' and trends in this matchup will make one dizzy if they look close enough. Arizona the perennial power has won the last 17 meetings against Stanford the longest active streak in the Pac-12. Although the Cardinal are just 7-7 on the season they are 5-0 straight-up at home where they are 3-2 ATS this season and are now 16-5 ATS in their last 21 as hosts. After a pair of road losses to both L.A. Schools USC and UCLA the Cardinal will respond here. Take STANFORD! |
01-09-19 | Louisville v. Pittsburgh +3.5 | 86-89 | Win | 100 | 8 h 11 m | Show
Louisville at Pittsburgh 8:00 ET Panthers (+) over Cardinals- Last time out Pittsburgh had a chance to play with the 'big boys' and failed miserably as North Carolina pounded the Panthers 85-60 while Louisville defeated Miami-Fl 90-73 the same day. The Cardinals who are off of five straight home games are 10-4-1 ATS on the road in their last 15 games and are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings. Pittsburgh is 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall and are 8-2 straight-up at home outscoring opponents (including NC loss) by 16 points as hosts. Take PITTSBURGH! |
01-09-19 | Houston v. Temple +1.5 | Top | 69-73 | Win | 100 | 7 h 21 m | Show |
Houston at Temple 7:00 ET Owls (+) over Cougars- No. 15 Houston is one of just three 'majors' that are undefeated (Virginia and Michigan) as they travel to Philadelphia to take on Temple who returns home to play their first game as hosts since Dec. 15. The Cougars have played their last seven at hone and this contest is just their second road contest. The Owls are 5-0 straight-up at home but are 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight at home when favored (which they are not here). Houston has had the best of this series as they are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings but this is a spot for an Owls upset. Take TEMPLE! |
01-08-19 | UNLV +4.5 v. New Mexico | 80-69 | Win | 100 | 12 h 30 m | Show
UNLV at New Mexico 11:00 ET Rebels (+) over Lobos- There was a time both of these schools played 'real' basketball but the overall quality of the Mountain West is down significantly in all major sports. Each club enters 8-6 with the Lobos off of one of the biggest upsets this NCAA season when they crushed undefeated and No. 6 ranked Nevada-Reno 85-58 last time out. UNLV meanwhile has won their last two with home wins over Wyoming and Colorado State. These are two of the worst shooting teams in college basketball New Mexico ranks 213 shooting 43.2% while the Rebels are ranked 271 shooting 41.4%. But, the key factor is that the Lobos will have a huge let-down after such a huge win. Take UNLV! |
01-08-19 | Iowa State v. Baylor +3 | 70-73 | Win | 100 | 8 h 42 m | Show
Iowa State at Baylor 7:00 ET Bears (+) over Cyclones- Iowa State is now ranked No. 20, has won their last five straight and is coming off of their biggest win in a number of years as they crushed Kansas 77-60. But, it looks as though the Cyclones are in an uncomfortable spot coming off of that win and play their next game on the road and at Baylor at that. The Bears have won 13 of 15 meetings against Iowa State with the last home lost coming in the 2012-13 season. The road is not where the Cyclones shine as they are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games. Baylor is 6-2 straight-up at home and get it done tonight. Take BAYLOR! |
01-08-19 | Maryland +2 v. Minnesota | 82-67 | Win | 100 | 8 h 36 m | Show
Maryland at Minnesota 7:00 ET Terrapins (+) over Golden Gophers- Minnesota who has won their last seven games is off of a huge win over Wisconsin 59-52 their first in the 'Border Battle' since 2014. Maryland has won their last three and are an impressive 4-0 ATS in their road games this season and are off of a 77-63 win at Rutgers. The Gophers are 8-0 straight-up at home and yet barely better then a pick-em here. The 'price' is just too inviting as it appears to be a 'come-get-me' play...they lose. Take MARYLAND! |
01-06-19 | Wisconsin v. Penn State +1.5 | 71-52 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 15 m | Show
Wisconsin at Penn State 7:00 ET Nittany Lions (+) over Badgers- It looks like a 'down year for Wisconsin not only in football but basketball as well. Although ranked No. 22 the Badgers are looking to rebound from a pair of losses including a Big-Ten loss to Minnesota. Penn State is 0-3 in conference action and just 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games. But, my concern here is the low betting price which would be difficult to rationalize when one see's that Wisconsin is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games but there are a pair of trends that balances the trend as the underdog is 14-3 in the last 17 meetings and the Nittany Lions are 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings. Numbers never lie...PENN STATE! |
01-06-19 | Miami-FL +7 v. Louisville | 73-90 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 40 m | Show
Miami at Louisville 6:00 ET Hurricanes (+) over Cardinals- After starting 1-3 Louisville reeled off eight straight win before losing to Kentucky while the Hurricanes are off a home loss to ranked N.C. State. Louisville holds a 10-4 series advantage with all four of Miami's four wins all coming at Louisville. This is the first conference home games for the Cardinals and they have won their 'opener' five of the last six years. Miami, has struggled of late against the number and are 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games overall but have gotten the money 3-of-4 against Louisville. A matter of 'numbers'...take MIAMI! |
01-06-19 | Seton Hall v. DePaul +3 | 74-75 | Win | 100 | 2 h 36 m | Show
Seton Hall at DePaul 1:00 ET Blue Demons (+) over Pirates- This is an awfully short price based on the past performances of these two clubs as Seton Hall has won seven in-a-row while DePaul has dropped their last three. The Pirates have been able to play well under pressure coming back from a 14-point deficit against St. John's and finishing with a 15-5 run in the their win over Xavier Monday while the Demons who have placed last in the Big East eight of the last 10 seasons lost by nine to the same club. DePaul did show some life in a loss to Villanova at one point leading by 14 points before the Wildcats come-back. This time they maintain focus as they are 8-2 straight-up at home. Take DEPAUL! |
01-03-19 | Iowa v. Purdue -10 | 70-86 | Win | 100 | 7 h 35 m | Show
Iowa at Purdue 7:00 ET Boilermakers (-) over Hawkeyes- In college basketball when conference play begins the season takes on a whole different significance. Iowa at 11-2 is ranked No. 25 but already are 0-2 in Big Ten play. Purdue who is a very 'strong' favorite here is just 8-5 straight-up but are 6-0 at home. Purdue is a heavy favorite because of the history between these two schools as the home team is 13-4 ATS in the last 17 meetings. A closer look shows us that Iowa is just 9-23-1 ATS in their last 33 road games and just 7-15-1 ATS against Big Ten opponents including 2-6 ATS in their last eight trips to West Lafayette. Take PURDUE! |
01-03-19 | Penn State +11.5 v. Michigan | 55-68 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 32 m | Show
Penn State at Michigan 7:00 ET Nittany Lions (+) over Wolverines- Michigan is ranked No. 2 and they just might be the best team in college basketball as they are still undefeated and are 9-0 SU at home with their last loss coming in the NCAA Championship game to Villanova. Penn State who for years has been an also-ran in the Big Ten has lost 14 of their last 15 games at Michigan but are off a confidence builder with their 74-52 win over Maryland-Baltimore County has played close against the Wolves the last three times out and I expect another tight conference battle. Take PENN STATE! |
01-03-19 | NC State v. Miami-FL +2 | Top | 87-82 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 41 m | Show |
N. C. State at Miami-FL 7:00 ET Hurricanes (+) over Wolfpack- No. 19 N.C State has shown that they can play with the big boys as they have posted wins over then No. 7 Auburn 78-71 and have impressive wins over Vanderbilt and Penn State with their only defeat coming at Wisconsin 79-75. After a sluggish start Miami has gained confidence with three straight wins as they face their first ranked team this season. Hurricanes coach Jim Larranaga has his team 6-1 straight-up at home while the Wolfpack is 0-1 in true road games and as a matter of fact they are just 9-20 ATS in their last 29 road games. But the Hurricanes are just 11-29 ATS at home in their last 40 as hosts but the underdog is 10-3-2 ATS in the last 15 meetings. Take MIAMI! |
01-02-19 | Utah State +9.5 v. Nevada | 49-72 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Utah State at Nevada-Reno 11:00 ET Aggies (+) over Wolf Pack- Hey gang, watch out for the Wolf Pack...Don't get me wrong 'we' had Nevada as a winner on Saturday last but I have seen them play and there is good reason they are 13-0 and ranked No. 5. They have won the last two Mountain West titles and are looking to make it three something UNLV never accomplished. This is the MWC opener for both clubs and that always makes things a littler tighter. The Wolf Pack bring some heavy weights into this fray with the MWC Player of the Year Caleb Martin and Defensive Player of the Year Cody Martin while Utah State has dropped the last four Su and ATS to Reno they are 10-3 SU and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall. This should play close...take UTAH STATE! |
01-02-19 | Georgetown v. Butler -8.5 | 84-76 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 7 m | Show
Georgetown at Butler 7:00 ET Bulldogs (-) over Hoyas- The days of John Thompson Sr. or Jr. and Patrick Ewing are long gone at Georgetown as the DC alumni haven't seen a Sweet-16 team is over two decades. At 10-3 one might be mis-led into thinking that they are back among the better squads but they are not! The Hoyas are 'game' but way too young starting three freshman who have yet to see a Big East contest on the road. Last season as an 11.5 underdog the Hoyas pulled of the upset 87-83 and have covered three straight in the series but GT defeated Howard 102-67 last time out and will get caught being a bit full of them selves especially after seeing Butler lose to Florida by 34 points 77-43. The Bulldogs defeated the Gators 61-54 on Nov. 23 so they are capable. The Georgetown 'numbers' are among the 'worst' for any team in any sport that I have come across as they are 4-14 ATS in their last 18 overall. Lay-it with the Bulldogs are they will sic the Hoyas after the Florida loss. Take BUTLER! |
01-02-19 | Texas Tech v. West Virginia +4.5 | Top | 62-59 | Win | 100 | 5 h 22 m | Show |
Texas Tech at West Virginia 7:00 ET Mountaineers (+) over Red Raiders- These two started the season in different positions as West Virginia was ranked No. 13 while Texas Tech was unranked and now, it is the Red Raiders who are 11-1 and ranked No. 11 with their only loss to Duke. The Mountaineers have struggled to keep their legs under them as they are 8-4 SU and an abysmal 2-9-1 ATS. Texas Tech is 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games while UWV has shown some life at home where they are 6-1 straight-up and have defeated the Raiders seven straight times to go along with 7-2 ATS against the Red Raiders in the last nine meetings. Take WEST VIRGINIA! |
12-29-18 | Oregon v. Boise State +2 | 62-50 | Loss | -109 | 19 h 23 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA 'Top-Rated' Money Game Oregon at Boise State 7:30 ET' 4* Broncos (+) over Ducks- Oregon must really be distracted for the line to be this low, to be playing in Boise as they bring their Pac-12 stature against the Mountain West in Idaho against the 5-7 Broncos. The Ducks don't seem to fly when away from home as they are 0-2 in true road games and 1-3 ATS at any away sites. The rub here is that this is a rematch as the Ducks (-11.5) took down the Broncos 66-64 in Eugene Dec. 15 without Bol Bol last time and he is still out. You can understand how bogus this line is when you realize the Broncos are just 4-11 ATS in their last 15 overall. Take BOISE STATE! |
12-29-18 | Nevada -9 v. Utah | 86-71 | Win | 100 | 14 h 42 m | Show
Nevada at Utah 2:00 ET 4* Wolf Pack (-) over Utes- Boy, are the days of Keith Van Horn over or what...I mean the Utes a double-digit or thereabouts at home against a conference Mountain West foe. A huge comedown for a Pac-12 power. Utah has upped the record to 6-5 by winning their last two against Florida Atlantic and Northern Arizona but has bad losses to Kentucky, BYU, Northwestern, Hawaii and Minnesota. It's a down year for Utah and they will be up against one of the best Nevada-Reno teams ever put together. It;s not just their 12-0 start as they have met every challenge a with win over Arizona State. Utes 5-0 Su at home against inferior opponents and just 2-3 ATS. Take NEVADA! |
12-29-18 | Kentucky v. Louisville +2.5 | Top | 71-58 | Loss | -105 | 14 h 5 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA Bk 'Highest-Rated' Megabucks Kentucky at Louisville 2:00 ET 5* Cardinals (+) over Wildcats- Sometimes these games just fall into a pattern and if you can see it from a distance you might be able to make some money. It's a four week scenario that has Kentucky getting crushed by Duke and then North Carolina beating Duke and then Kentucky getting up to beat North Carolina and now it's Louisville turn to shine. Very quietly the Cardinals are a more than respectable 9-3 with wins at Seton Hall and over Michigan State. Wildcats just 1-2 away from home and this is their first true road game. Take LOUISVILLE! |
12-22-18 | Kansas v. Arizona State +4 | 76-80 | Win | 100 | 21 h 50 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA 'Top-Rated' Money Game Kansas at Arizona State 9:00 ET Sun Devils (+) over Jayhawks- No. 1 and undefeated (10-0) Kansas comes to Tempe off a 36-point home win over South Dakota 89-53 and this will be their first true road game. Arizona State meanwhile took to the road undefeated 7-0 but dropped 2-of-3 and are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four and returning home to face the Jayhawks. The Sun Devils won the last meeting at Kansas 95-85 as a 12-point underdog are are 5-0 straight-up at home. Get spot for Arizona State. Take the SUN DEVILS! |
12-22-18 | Seton Hall v. Maryland -8 | 78-74 | Loss | -105 | 17 h 27 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA 'Top-Rated' Power Play Seton Hall at Maryland 5:50 ET Terrapins (-) over Pirates- Maryland has had the advantage of a heavy does of home games and are 7-1 straight-up but are just 2-5-1 ATS as hosts. Seton Hall is on a four game wins streak which including a win over Kentucky and are 4-1 straight-up away from home. The Terrapins have struggled against the Big East going 5-12 ATS in the last 17 meetings. But, Maryland has had 11 days off and will be 'chomping' so to speak on the Hall. Already a tough defensive team they will have a huge rebounding advantage where they lead the Big Ten in rebounding margin at plus-12.3 while Seton Hall is among the worst in the Big East at minus-1.9. The line is generous and for good reason...Terrapins smother the Pirates. Take MARYLAND! |
12-22-18 | North Carolina v. Kentucky +2.5 | Top | 72-80 | Win | 100 | 17 h 18 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA 'Highest-Rated' Megabucks Kentucky vs North Carolina 5:15 ET Wildcats (+) over Tar Heels- Without a doubt this selection will be 'against the gain' for so many reasons starting with Kentucky's 3-9-2 ATS record against the Tar Heels. Both No. 9 North Carolina and the No. 19 Wildcats are 8-2 with KU coming in at 4-6 ATS while NC is 5-3-2 ATS. Kentucky opened their season getting pounded by Duke 118-74 (the largest KU loss ever) and only a 1-point loss at Seton Hall is their only blemish since going 8-1. NC was 'our' Highest-rated' Megabucks winner last week over Gonzaga and this week they fall to the Wildcats. Carolina has a 24-15 series lead but the Cats are 5-3 since John Calipari to the reins. Take KENTUCKY! |
12-22-18 | Connecticut +6.5 v. Villanova | 58-81 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 21 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA BK Early-Bird Winner Connecticut vs Villanova 12:30 ET Huskies (+) over Wildcats- The defending National Champion Wildcats have dropped their last two including last weeks 'cover' against the Jayhawks and have had a week to get it together. Connecticut now has Danny Hurley as head coach and he of course is looking for guard play first and that's good because the Huskies will need someone to counter-balance the Wildcat's Phil Booth who had 21 versus Kansas. UCONN the overachievers are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games against the Big East but are just 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine meetings with Villanova who is 35-16 ATS in their last 51 tries. It doesn't matter here...take CONNECTICUT! |
12-20-18 | Texas Tech +10.5 v. Duke | 58-69 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 6 m | Show
Texas Tech vs Duke 7:00 ET Red Raiders (+) over Blue Devils- Not that they need it but Duke and coach Mike Krzyzewski use the games they play at Madison Square Garden as a recruiting tool as they are 38-14 all time in this venue saying 'It's every kids dream to play in the Garden.' Texas Tech ranked No. 11 and are 10-0 with the nation's top defense allowing just 51.2 points and holding opponents to 32.2 percent field goals allowed. The Red Raiders are not just a flash in the pan as they were along with Duke in the NCAA's Elite Eight last season. This should be a tight low scoring affair as Tech forces 11.5 turnovers per game and while the Blue Devils lead the nation with 8.1 blocks per contest. Take the points...take TEXAS TECH! |
12-19-18 | UCLA v. Cincinnati -8.5 | 64-93 | Win | 100 | 6 h 12 m | Show
UCLA at Cincinnati 9:00 ET Bearcats (-) over Bruins- These two opened the gridiron season with a Bearcats (+10) outright win over the Bruins in LA and now it is the hardwood boys chance to garner some revenge for their school mates. The ugly truth is that the PAC-12 has fallen competitively in virtually all major sports (save women's volleyball) and although at 7-3 UCLA is respectable they are not among the elite. Cincinnati meanwhile has been a 'comer' as they are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. 'We' have had plenty of lucky with and against the Bearcats posting Miss St. 70-59 breaking Cincy's nine-game win streak. UCLA lost to Belmont on Saturday after defeating Notre Dame, With Ohio State up next in Chicago the Bruins could get caught peeking. Cat's allow just 57.6 points and win here. Take CINCINNATI! |
12-18-18 | Buffalo v. Syracuse -3.5 | Top | 71-59 | Loss | -103 | 10 h 12 m | Show |
Buffalo at Syracuse 7:00 ET Orange (-) over Bulls- Boy, does this match-up have an odd look. Here, is SUNY Buffalo (10-0) undefeated and ranked No.15 while floundering Syracuse (7-3) is reeling after losing outright 68-62 as a 10-point favorite against Old Dominion. In that loss the Orange blew a 13-point lead and were outscored by 16 in the second half. Buffalo dropped an 81-74 decision at Syracuse last season and claimed that they had a better team. Well, they will not be able to sneak up on the orange tonight. Take SYRACUSE! |
12-17-18 | Arizona State v. Vanderbilt +1.5 | 65-81 | Win | 100 | 7 h 26 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA Top-Rated' Megabucks Arizona State at Vanderbilt 7:00 ET Commodores (+) over Sun Devils- No. 20 Arizona State keep digging huge holes for themselves and have managed to win after trailing in three games by 16, 18 and 18 in comeback wins. Vanderbilt should be well rested and ready to play as they have had the past 12-days off for final exams. The Commodores needed the time to adjust to the loss of guard Darius Garland but still score 84 points per game. Although ASU is 4-0 in past meetings the Sun Devils are just 2-8-2 ATS in their last 12 games on the road. Take VANDERBILT! |
12-15-18 | Cincinnati v. Mississippi State -3 | 59-70 | Win | 100 | 10 h 49 m | Show
Cincinnati at Mississippi State 8:30 ET Bulldogs (-) over Bearcats- Last Saturday I told you all that the Bearcats were the side against Xavier and 'we' had a winner, this week we flip side. Cincinnati is 9-1 and not ranked in the Top-25 while Mississippi State is 8-1 and ranked No. 17. Why has Cincinnati been overlooked in this regard? Is it simply because they aren't all that good to start with. The Bulldogs are the first ranked team for Cincy this season and the quality of their opponent might cause a bit of shock and maybe awe. These two clubs have met three times and the Bearcats won and covered in each as a favorite. This time the rolls are reversed and so is the result. Last season the Bearcats won easily 65-50 as Dogs' star Lamar Peters went 0-11 including 0-7 from 3-point range. That will not happen again! Take MISSISSIPPI STATE! |
12-15-18 | Gonzaga v. North Carolina -2.5 | Top | 90-103 | Win | 100 | 8 h 29 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA 'Highest-Rated' Megabucks Gonzaga at North Carolina 7:00 ET Tar Heels (-) over Bulldogs- Gonzaga has been impressive at 9-1 with wins over Duke, Arizona Washington and Creighton while their lone loss was to Tennessee on a neutral floor. The Bulldogs loss to the Vols dropped them out of the college top spot in the nation and Kansas moved in to No. 1. North Carolina has a pair of losses to Texas and to No. 5 Michigan. One thing that happens often in college or even professional sports is after a team has their 'mojo' disrupted it takes them a game or two to regain their momentum and confidence. Two season's ago the Tar Heels got the best of Gonzaga in the Final-4 Championship game 71-65 and will do it again as Roy Williams has criticized his team's effort of late and I'm sure they will respond here. Take NORTH CAROLINA! |
12-15-18 | Arizona State v. Georgia +3.5 | 76-74 | Win | 100 | 7 h 25 m | Show
Arizona State at Georgia 6:00 ET Bulldogs (+) over Sun Devils- No. 20 Arizona State is leading scorer is freshman guard Luguentz Dort who is 6-4 215 pounds and looks like he should be playing linebacker for the Sun Devils in the Las Vegas Bowl. Dort is from Haiti and believes soccer says soccer is his first love and I would like to see him kick the ball around a bit today against a Georgia defense that only allows 38% shooting from the field. ASU has 'covered' just two of 11 road games goin 2-7-2 ATS. The Sun Devils went dark in the second half their last time out as the surrendered a 16-point lead to Nevada. Just apply a little pressure boys and you can win this one outright. Take GEORGIA! |
12-15-18 | Villanova +7.5 v. Kansas | Top | 71-74 | Win | 100 | 18 h 46 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA BK Early-Bird Winner Villanova at Kansas 12:00 ET Wildcats (+) over Jayhawks- No. 1 Kansas will host the defending National Champion Villanova Wildcats and are look for revenge after the 95-79 beating inflicted bu the Wildcats in last year's semi in the Final-4. Villanova is off a loss to Big-5 rival Penn their first loss in the series in 25 games and in part, the Wildcats issues in that loss might be keyed to the fact that they were looking ahead to this contest. Kansas is 4-0 at home but is just 1-3 ATS but will be without center Udoka Azuibuike and that will weaken their interior. Villanova is 15-6 ATS in their last 21 games and will come to play here. Take the WILDCATS! |
12-12-18 | LSU +3 v. Houston | 76-82 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 16 m | Show
L.S.U. At Houston 9:00 ET Tigers (+) over Cougars- No. 22 Houston is 8-0 and 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 games overall while Louisiana State is 1-7 ATS in their last 11 road games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight overall. Add that the Cougars have 21 won straight home games and yet this 'price' in very inviting and that's the rub. The Tigers are part of the SEC and that conference has dominated Houston going 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings and the underdog is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings. Take L.S.U.! |

12-11-18 | Colorado v. New Mexico +5 | Top | 78-75 | Win | 100 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
Colorado at New Mexico 9:00 ET Lobos (+) over Buffaloes- The trends the surround this contest is urging this to be a 'no-play' and you will see what I mean as the Lobos are 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight against the Pac-12 and Colorado is 19-41-1 ATS in their last 61 games on the road. The Buffaloes are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five and while New Mexico has dropped their last two getting blown out by St. Mary's and New Mexico State going 1-4 ATS in their last five. The Buffs won (-7.5) 75-57 as hosts last year and I expect the most solid reason I can give is that turn-about-is-fair-pay. Nah, Lobos light-up 3-pointers tonight...take NEW MEXICO! |
12-09-18 | Tennessee +3.5 v. Gonzaga | Top | 76-73 | Win | 100 | 5 h 9 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA Megabucks Winner Tennessee vs. Gonzaga 3:00 ET Volunteers (+) over Bulldogs- Top ranked and undefeated Gonzaga seeks their tenth straight win to open the season are a fine 7-2 ATS. At 6-1 Tennessee is ranked No. 7 and return 11 of 13 players and have already had one big game experience when they surrendered a nine-point second half lead to Kansas. This game is at a neutral site in Phoenix and the Volunteers are 1-1 on neutral sites while Gonzaga is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS. Tennessee is 4-4 straight-up when playing the No. 1 ranked team in the national. Take TENNESSEE! |
12-09-18 | Arizona v. Alabama -120 | 73-76 | Win | 100 | 3 h 19 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA Money Game Winner Arizona at Alabama 1:00 ET Crimson Tide (+) over Wildcats- Arizona enters this contest riding a 3-game winning streak while Alabama has dropped their last two including a 83-80 loss to Georgia State after blowing a 21-point second half lead. The Wildcats have five new starters this season and they have meshed well so early in the season. Trends clash here as Arizona is 702 ATS in their last nine versus the SEC while Alabama is 8-0 ATS in their last eight against the Pac-12. Take ALABAMA! |
12-08-18 | Georgetown v. Syracuse -10.5 | 71-72 | Loss | -108 | 5 h 19 m | Show
Georgetown at Syracuse 3:30 ET Orange (-) over Hoyas- Both of these former Big East rivals enter this fray on four game win streaks with the Hoyas off of a win 88-78 over Liberty while Syracuse is off of a pair wins over Northeastern and Ohio State. Georgetown is up to their old tricks as they are 7-1 SU in their last eight but a horrid 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games overall. When they win the scrap bye and when they lose they get crushed. Patrick Ewing will be out foxed by Jim Boeheim and the Orange run away with this one. Take SYRACUSE! |
12-08-18 | Louisville v. Indiana -4.5 | Top | 67-68 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 28 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA Megabucks Winner Louisville at Indiana 2:30 ET Hoosiers (-) Cardinals- Louisville has won their last three and are 4-0 ATS in their last four as they are considered the visitor although this game is at Madison Square Garden and Indiana is considered the home team. The Hoosiers have won four of their last five including their last two but had lost five straight ATS until their 64-62 win as a 3-point dog at Penn State. That makes a pair of two-point wins back-to-back and that strengthens character. The Cardinals have won three straight after a pair of losses to Tennessee and Marquette the last one a 86-41 beatdown of Central Arkansas, hardly a good workout. Louisville has been favored the last four meetings and the last time the Hoosiers were favored in the they won by 15 points. Take INDIANA! |
12-08-18 | Xavier v. Cincinnati -7 | 47-62 | Win | 100 | 4 h 7 m | Show
Xavier at Cincinnati 2:00 ET Bearcats (-) over Musketeers- This one is just too much for me. Is there something wrong with Xavier that I am not aware of, or are the Bearcats that good. Ah there is something wrong with the Musketeers as they will be without one starter because of a concussion and the other is questionable. Let me start by saying that it doesn't matter the sport that when I support the U. of Cincinnati I get hosed one way or another and its virtually the opposite when I support Xavier I'm more often a winner. Enough of that...these two are bitter rivals as my main 'Progressive' man tells me (a Musketeer pugilist) that Xavier is just not up to snuff this year. This is I mean about the Bearcats they are 6-20 ATS against the Big East and often I have expected them to rise to the occasion only to fall short. So, why today, why shOuld the win here? I coulD say the home team is 8-1 ATS in the last nine meetings and the favorite is 8-2 ATS, but what I see is that Xavier have been the dominate favorite but when the Bearcats are favored by seven or more they have won by 20 and 15 points. Cincinnati on an 8-game run goes to nine! Take CINCINNATI! |
12-06-18 | Maryland v. Purdue -8 | Top | 60-62 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 14 m | Show |
Maryland at Purdue 7:00 ET Boilermakers (-) over Terrapins- There are some conflicting 'numbers' here that could bring confusion when making an analysis of this matchup. Starting with the Boilermakers who have lost their last two and are just 7-18-2 ATS in their last 27 games in the Big Ten and are only 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games. No. 23 Maryland is 7-1 straight up this season but just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. I believe this 'price' is a bit high as the oddsmakers are aware that Purdue have won four straight in this series. Take PURDUE! |
12-05-18 | Temple v. Villanova -8 | Top | 59-69 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show |
Temple at Villanova 8:30 ET Wildcats (-) over Owls- Villanova the defending National Champs are off to a sluggish start and have looked abominable at times including an embarrassing 73-46 loss to Michigan and an another embarrassing overtime loss to Furman. Since that loss the Wildcats have reeled off four straight road wins and now return home to host Big-5 rival Temple where they are 15-5 ATS in their last 20 games. The Wildcats have owned the Big-5 winning 23 straight including Saturday's 85-78 win against LaSalle. Temple enters this fray winners of their last three including a victories over Missouri and California but are in over their heads here. Take VILLANOVA! |
12-05-18 | Ohio State v. Illinois +6 | 77-67 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 13 m | Show
Ohio State vs Illinois 7:00 ET Iliini (+) over Buckeyes- No. 16 Ohio State are coming off of a five game home stand and have yet to pay a true road games this season and this game is being played at the United Center in Chicago. Illinois who is just 2-6 overall are 0-3 at home going 1-2 ATS and this is considered a home game. The Buckeyes may be without Luther Muhammed who dislocated his shoulder and they are scrambling without him trying numerous combinations. The Illini will use pressure defense against the power State lineup trying to cause some havoc. Take ILLINOIS! |
12-04-18 | Michigan v. Northwestern +6.5 | Top | 62-60 | Win | 100 | 10 h 48 m | Show |
Michigan at Northwestern 9:00 ET Wildcats (+) over Wolverines- Sometimes I just wonder what the hell is going on! Here is Michigan (8-0) having played in the Final-Four Championship Game and have destroyed opponents by an average of 21 points and yet they are only ranked No. 5. Northwestern has played well at 6-2 and are off a 68-66 loss at Indiana while the Wolverines are off of three home games the last against Purdue. The Wildcats are 4-0 at home and both clubs play tough defense and I expect a tight contest. Take NORTHWESTERN! |
11-30-18 | Oklahoma State v. Minnesota -4 | Top | 76-83 | Win | 100 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
Oklahoma State at Minnesota 10:00 Cowboys (+) over Golden Gophers- Minnesota opened the season 5-0 including wins over Utah, Washington and Texas A&M but when it can to their ACC matchup they fell 68-56 to Boston College last time out. Playing out of conference or just about anywhere for the Gophers has been ugly. They are 2-16 ATS against the Big-12 and just 8-21 ATS in their last 29 overall. Oklahoma State on the other hand defeated Memphis and No. 21 LSU last time while losing to NCAA champ Villanova last Friday. The Cowboys are good enough to win here. Take OKLAHOMA STATE! |
11-29-18 | Alabama v. UCF -5.5 | Top | 64-70 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show |
Alabama at Central Florida 7:00 ET Panthers (-) over Crimson Tide- Central Florida has waited for this matchup for the past two years and amazingly the Panthers are favored, unfortunately this is basketball and not football. Both clubs are 5-1 but that's where the similarity ends. The Tide are 1-5 ATS while C. Florida is 5-1 ATS. UCF lost their only game 80-79 to FAU while Alabama lost by 16 to Northeastern (not exactly a powerhouse). Could any of us imagine that the Panthers would favored over the Crimson but they have a weapon 'Bama can't handle, that is 7-6 Tacko Fall who has become a force in the middle. Take CENTRAL FLORIDA! |
11-28-18 | Virginia v. Maryland +4 | Top | 76-71 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 24 m | Show |
Virginia at Maryland 7:30 ET Terrapins (+) over Cavaliers- A pair of ranked and unbeaten (6-0) clubs will totally different styles will battle it out in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at College Park, Maryland as the Terrapins host Virginia. The No. 4 ranked Cavaliers are known for defense under Tony Bennett and are at it again this season allowing just 49.3 points per contest. The Cavs off their 53-46 win over Big Ten rival Wisconsin in the Battle of the Bahamas Championship game and are 7-1 in the last eight meetings. This rivalry goes back to 1912 and Maryland has a huge 107-75 series lead. The Terrapins average 84.8 points per game and have a major advantage with the home floor. Take MARYLAND! |
11-27-18 | Michigan State v. Louisville +5.5 | Top | 78-82 | Win | 100 | 8 h 13 m | Show |
Michigan State at Louisville 7:30 ET Cardinals (+) over Spartans- After dropping their opening game to Kansas 92-87 Tom Izzo has his No. 8 Spartans riding a five-game winning streak including the title in the Las Vegas Invitational defeating UCLA and Texas. Louisville opened with three wins but have dropped their last two to Tennessee and Marquette on the road and return home (3-0) to host Michigan State. A pair of small trends that back the Cardinals says that MSU is 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 true road games and Louisville is 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 versus the Big Ten. Take LOUISVILLE! |
11-27-18 | Virginia Tech v. Penn State +3.5 | Top | 62-63 | Win | 100 | 8 h 36 m | Show |
Virginia Tech at Penn State 7:00 ET Nittany Lions (+) over Hokies- No. 12 Virginia Tech enters Bryce Jordan Center 5-0 with a perfect 4-0 ATS record. Penn State at 3-2 has been unimpressive but are 2-0 at home and are 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games. The Hokies are 3-0 ATS away from home this season but other then Purdue have had a weak schedule. The Nittany Lions are returning home after three straight on the road including their last performance against Bradley where they had their worst shooting night 28.8% in three years. Look for State to bounce back here. Take the NITTANY LIONS! |
11-23-18 | Texas +5.5 v. Michigan State | Top | 68-78 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 45 m | Show |
Texas vs Michigan State 6:30 ET Longhorns (+) over Spartans- both clubs are on winning streak as the Longhorns are 5-0 on the season and Michigan State has won four straight since their opening loss to Kentucky. The Spartans got here with an easy 87-67 win over UCLA while Texas was 'our' 'Highest-Rated' winner 92-89 over North Carolina. The way these two won was completely different as the 'Horns trailed the Tar Heels 17-4 and fought their way back while Michigan State just routed the Bruins. MSU has been on a down trend since conference play started last season and are 5-12-2 ATS in their last 19 games overall. I expect this game to pay close will take the points...take TEXAS! |
11-22-18 | Texas +7.5 v. North Carolina | Top | 92-89 | Win | 100 | 9 h 28 m | Show |
Texas vs North Carolina 7:30 ET Longhorns (+) over Tar Heels- When Skaka Smart left VCU to coach for Texas many thought there would be an instant turnaround but this is the year their 'backers' expect results. North Carolina is undefeated and won their first five games by an average of 30.6 points as they have played all five games at home. Texas believe it or not leads this series 7-3 and has won the last three meetings and seven of the last eight. The Tar Heels will be without point guard Seventh Woods who leads the team in assists will miss this contest because of a concussion received in practice Tuesday. Take TEXAS! |
11-16-18 | St. John's v. Rutgers +3.5 | Top | 84-65 | Loss | -102 | 7 h 14 m | Show |
St. John's at Rutgers 7:00 ET Scarlet Knights (+) over Red Storm- This was supposed to be the 'coming-out' season for St. John's, Chris Mullin has been given time to establish his personality on this club as he enters his fourth season at the helm. But, as fate would have it, the Red Storm's lone experienced big man on the roster has surgery on his right knee Wednesday and already the 2-0 Johnnies are having to make adjustments. St. John's prides itself on their defense and they will need it to contain the Knights who scored 90- and 95 points in their two wins. First road game for the young team from Queens and the school that is considered the University of New Jersey...Take RUTGERS! |
11-15-18 | Ohio State v. Creighton +2 | Top | 69-60 | Loss | -106 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
Ohio State at Creighton 7:00 ET Bluejays over Buckeyes- both clubs are 2-0 on the season with the Buckeyes getting the cash twice while the Bluejays are 0-2 ATS. Although these two have not met since 1972 but Creighton is 13-1 against the Big Ten in their last fourteen meetings. Creighton was predicted to finish ninth in the Big East and have just two starters returning. With all this stuff going on this game is a virtual pick-em and that lends me to take the home team. Take CREIGHTON! |
11-13-18 | Georgetown +8 v. Illinois | 88-80 | Win | 100 | 8 h 0 m | Show
Georgetown at Illinois 8:30 ET Hoyas (+) over Illini- These two clubs have litter history with Illinois winning four regular season meetings and the Hoyas taking an NCAA Tourney game in 1994. It's about time Patrick Ewing and Georgetown started moving back into the national picture and a win here would be a he step forward. The Hoyas who closed last season with five SU and ATS losses in a row haven't 'covered' in their last seven (0-7 ATS). Illinois opened the season with a 99-60 win over Evansville but will find the Hoyas defense a bit tougher led by 6'10” Jessie Govan who posted 26 points with three blocks last time out. Note that aside from the recent ATS issues for Georgetown they are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 true road games. Take GEORGETOWN! |
04-02-18 | Michigan +7 v. Villanova | 62-79 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 46 m | Show
Michigan vs Villanova 9:05 ET Wolverines (+) over Wildcats- This is a great way to end the season with two clubs that have won 24 straight games between them. Villanova of course is at 10 in-a-row as they were upset in the Big East Tourney while Michigan ran through the Big Ten Tourney and hasn’t headed since. The Wolves had a close call against Houston with a 'miraculous 3-point shot at the buzzer while the Wildcats are the fifth team to win each NCAA Tournament game by double digits. The only team to lose was North Carolina against Villanova two years ago. Well, turn-about is fair play, and the points will come in handy tonight. This should come down to the final minutes as defense is the key. Take MICHIGAN! |
04-02-18 | Michigan v. Villanova UNDER 145 | Top | 62-79 | Win | 100 | 12 h 51 m | Show |
Michigan vs Villanova 9:05 ET Wolverines/Wildcats-UNDER- I see and understand the Wildcats fire-power but in games of this magnitude player aren't as loose as previous contests. I expect Michigan to pressure the 'ball' no matter who has it when Villanova is on offense and they will stop the ball in the back court to avoid break-away baskets. The Wolverines are not the best shooting free throw team and probably will be below their average tonight. Play the UNDER! |
03-31-18 | Kansas v. Villanova -5 | Top | 79-95 | Win | 100 | 22 h 1 m | Show |
Kansas vs Villanova 8:45 ET Wildcats (-) over Jayhawks- When people that don't bet on sports but know the game make a comment like, 'Villanova is the same size favorite over No. 1 seed Kansas as Michigan is over Loyola. How can that be?' His meaning of course is that the Wildcats are a strong favorite. Now, this guy doesn't bets sports any more because he realized that he just couldn't win but now with an objective and clear head he sees a point spread pattern that he would never have noticed before. I have said all season that it we either Villanova or Duke and we have VILLANOVA! |
03-31-18 | Loyola-Chicago v. Michigan -5 | 57-69 | Win | 100 | 19 h 14 m | Show
Loyola-Chicago vs Michigan 6:05 ET Wolverines (-) over Ramblers- I really hate playing against a descendent of Jesus himself (Sister Jean) but as a Catholic I know I find my Lend vows very difficult to keep. So, her claim of giving up 'losing' for Lent should last through Sunday, but nobody I know really keeps their vow so I see the Ramblers falling short here. I know it would be so nice to see a real Cinderella in the Finals as the last thing that was even close was Butler led by Gordon Hayward. Loyola has won 14 straight games and Michigan 13 in-a-row but the Wolverines take this one as the stage has gotten just a little too big for the Ramblers. Take MICHIGAN! |
03-31-18 | Loyola-Chicago v. Michigan UNDER 129.5 | 57-69 | Win | 100 | 19 h 10 m | Show
Loyola-Chicago vs Michigan (Total) 6:05 ET Loyola-Chi/Wolverines (-) UNDER- Both these give up an average 122 points between them and with the intensity and value of every possession have such meaning thee two clubs will concentrate on pressure defense. Michigan is a notoriously weak foul shooting team having only one good offensive game in the tourney when the routed Texas A&M and scored 99 points but other then that it has been 61, 64 and 58. Loyola's highest out put was last time out with 78 against Kansas State but otherwise it's 69,63 and 64. This game stays UNDER! |
03-29-18 | Penn State v. Utah +4.5 | Top | 82-66 | Loss | -106 | 10 h 43 m | Show |
Penn State vs Utah 7:00 ET Utes (+) over Nittany Lions- Both these clubs enter the NIT final at Madison Square Garden as 4th seeds in their bracket and have won four in-a-row. Penn State's last win was a 75-60 blowout win over Mississippi State Tuesday and it wasn't even that close as the Lions led by 25 entering the fourth quarter. When a team wins like that especially in the semi-final of a tournament I always like to 'fade' them in the final. Utah is 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 games and get the 'money' here. Take UTAH! |
03-27-18 | Mississippi State +2.5 v. Penn State | Top | 60-75 | Loss | -101 | 12 h 43 m | Show |
Penn State vs Mississippi State 9:15 ET Bulldogs (+) over Nittany Lions- Both these clubs were 4th seeds and bring plenty of big game experience from the Big Ten and SEC. As far as trends are concerned both clubs come in making money as the Bulldogs are 5-0 ATS in their last five and Penn State is 5-1 ATS in their last six. But the two trends that mean the most to me are the Nittany Lions are 0-5 straight-up and 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings against the SEC and Mississippi State is 7-0 ATS in its last seven games as an underdog of 2.5 or more. Take MISSISSIPPI STATE! |
03-27-18 | Western Kentucky v. Utah +2 | 64-69 | Win | 100 | 9 h 20 m | Show
Western Kentucky vs Utah 7:00 ET Hilltoppers over Utes- At this time of the year we get so many match-ups between schools that have no chance of meetings during the regular season and this is one of them. Utah is now a part of the Pac-12 and fared well going 22-11 on the season with an excellent ATS record of 19-11. When comparing teams from the other part of the country I look to see how they did on the road and at neutral sites. Western Kentucky at 27-10 has managed to go 15-8 on away and neutral courts while the Utes are just 6-6 straight-up and only 4-9 ATS as an underdog (line opened W.Ky -1.5). Utah shot exceptionally well with the long ball at 47.5% during the NIT and have played a much tougher schedule and game competition counts. Take UTAH! |
03-25-18 | Duke v. Kansas UNDER 155.5 | 81-85 | Loss | -102 | 7 h 51 m | Show
Duke vs Kansas 5:05 ET Blue Devils/Jayhawks (UNDER)- Both these clubs have explosive offensives that can score at will if not defensed properly. Both coaches here will stress the defensive end of the court in their preparation for this Regional showdown. Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and Kansas mentor Bill Self will work hard to stress ball control and discipline on offense and virtually slow the games down. Play the UNDER! |
03-25-18 | Duke -3 v. Kansas | Top | 81-85 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 54 m | Show |
Duke vs Kansas 5:05 ET Blue Devils (-) over Jayhawks- No. 1 seed Kansas is an underdog here and No. 2 seeded Duke and that rises an eyebrow of two. The Jayhawks have won 30-games for the third straight season but have been denied entree to the Final Four in the regional finals the past two seasons losing to Villanova (the eventual champion) and Oregon. This season they get stopped by Duke who has been to 12 Final Fours and have five National Championships since Mike Krzyzewski took over in 1980. The Blue Devils are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 and win here. Take DUKE! |
03-25-18 | Texas Tech +6.5 v. Villanova | 59-71 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 12 m | Show
Texas Tech vs Villanova 2:20 ET Red Raiders (+) over Wildcats- Villanova is one of the best shooting teams in the country and they used that skill to the max in their win over West Virginia hitting 13-of-24 from 3-point range and are hitting 47.8 from 3-point area code in the tourney. Texas Texas I splaying in their first Elite Eight in school history while the Wildcats are looking for their second title in the last three years and third overall. Although the Red Raiders are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 they are big and physical and have a toughness inside that the Cats will have to contend with. Take TEXAS TECH! |
03-24-18 | Florida State +5 v. Michigan | Top | 54-58 | Win | 100 | 10 h 10 m | Show |
Florida State vs Michigan 8:50 ET Seminoles (+) over Wolverines- I mean have you ever seen anything like that before? The Wolverines put on one of the best long range shooting exhibitions in NCAA tournament history scoring 99 points. Only the Villanova victory against Georgetown (Patrick Ewing) in the 1986 Final compares with a higher shooting percentage but their was no 3-point shot at that time. A repeat is performance is highly unlikely even riding a 12-game winning streak as the Wolverines are off their highest scoring tournament game since 1992. Defense will keep the Seminoles in this one as they have held three straight opponents to 70 points or fewer...take FLORIDA STATE! |
03-24-18 | Loyola-Chicago +1 v. Kansas State | Top | 78-62 | Win | 100 | 7 h 23 m | Show |
Loyola-Chicago vs Kansas State 6:09 ET Ramblers (+) over Wildcats- Golly, are the 'boys' just begging us to take Kansas State or what! The blessing here is that for the most part few realize just how good Loyola actually is. This team is 31-5 straight and 22-9-1 ATS including 8-0 and 7-1 ATS at neutral sites. The Ramblers are still fighting for respect while the Wildcats believe that already got their respect by defeating Kentucky for the first time ever (0-9 lifetime entering the game). Letdown city...take LOYOLA-CHICAGO! |
03-24-18 | Central Michigan v. Liberty -2 | 71-84 | Win | 100 | 3 h 13 m | Show
Central Michigan vs Liberty 2:00 ET Flames over Chippewas- When a team called Liberty Flames is favored I'm all-in! At home and this game is in Lynchburg Virginia the Flames are 12-6 straight-up and 2-1 in lined games while Central Michigan has been a money maker on the road going 6-8 straight-up but 7-5 ATS. Both squads have identical 21-14 records with no doubt the Chippewas playing the tougher schedule ranking 82nd while Liberty was ranked 197 and yet they are favored. I'm back Vegas...take LIBERTY! |
03-23-18 | Syracuse v. Duke -11.5 | 65-69 | Loss | -103 | 12 h 23 m | Show
Syracuse vs Duke 9:37 ET Blue Devils (-) over Orange- Eon's ago they in Army football action they had Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside Blanchard and Davis a pair of All-American running backs. Today's NCAA version of the 'Out and In' has got to be Duke's All-American's and ACC Player of the Year, 6-11 Freshman Marvin Bagley III and Senior All-American guard Grayson Allen. The 'public' will move toward the double-digit points and with sentiment they will follow Jim Boeheim but it won't be enough. Blue Devils closing strong as they're 4 freshman starters matures they are 9-2 ATS in their last 11. Tonight at least it is DUKE! |
03-23-18 | West Virginia +5.5 v. Villanova | Top | 78-90 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 53 m | Show |
West Virginia vs Villanova 7:27 ET Mountaineers (+) over Wildcats- I have to admit the two squads that I though could win it all along has been Villanova and Duke so it takes a lot for me to come against who I believe may be the eventual champion. So here I am, with this West Virginia that can beat anybody but often fall apart in important matchups and I believe this fits the bill. But the Wildcats have had a pair of walk-over wins against Radford and Alabama and will be tested with Bob Huggins 'Press Virginia' for 40 intense minutes. Trends on not on the mountaineers side as they are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 against the Big East and Villanova is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 versus the Big-12. Everybody 'knows' that! Yep...take WEST VIRGINIA! |
03-23-18 | Clemson +5 v. Kansas | 76-80 | Win | 100 | 9 h 24 m | Show
Clemson vs Kansas 7:07 ET Tigers (+) over Jayhawks- It has been 21 years since Clemson was in the Sweet-16 and in their region that are up against legends in college basketball. I know one thing if Kansas, meaning Malik Newman continues to shoot the long ball (59% on 3-pointers in Big-12 playoffs and NCAA action) like they have they are going to be very difficult to beat. The Tigers do it with defense and that goes a long way in pressure games along with three sensational guards in Marcquise Reed, Gabe DeVoe and Sheldon Mitchell. Take the points with CLEMSON! |
03-22-18 | Florida State +6 v. Gonzaga | Top | 75-60 | Win | 100 | 13 h 47 m | Show |
Florida State vs Gonzaga 10:07 ET Seminoles (+) over Bulldogs- Gonzaga is looking to return to their second straight Final-4 (lost to N. Carolina in Final) and they might be surprised at the level of overall talent that packs Florida State's roster. The Seminoles have nine (9) players that average between 6.6 and 13 points per game and a pressure defense that adjustments will have to be made by the Zags. Gonzaga has the longest winning steak of any team left in the tourney but that doesn't always translate to ATS wins as they are just 15-17-1 despite their stellar record. Not this time...take FLORIDA STATE! |

03-22-18 | Kansas State +5.5 v. Kentucky | 61-58 | Win | 100 | 12 h 24 m | Show
Kansas State vs Kentucky 9:37 ET Wildcats (+) over Wildcats- The South Region looks wide open for the taking and Kentucky has become the favorite because of losses by #1 Virginia, #2 Cincinnati, #3 Tennessee and #4 Arizona. John Calipari's club is #5 as they come in with five straight wins and the SEC Championship. Kansas State is one of the uglier teams left but will have the return of 6-10 power forward Dean Wade who has missed the last three games but leads State in scoring. Kentucky has reached the Sweet-16 7-of-9 season's Calipari has been coach including this season. In this type of game with so much at stake the points become a factor. Take KANSAS STATE! |
03-22-18 | Texas A&M v. Michigan -2.5 | Top | 72-99 | Win | 100 | 10 h 23 m | Show |
Texas A&M vs Michigan 7:27 ET Wolverines (-) over Aggies- I know I saw it, I saw and win with against against these two clubs last weekend. We posted Texas A&M in their crushing of North Carolina and win had Houston (+) over Michigan and both were huge winners. So, here is how I see this match-up...the Aggies are off an emotional high in defeating the Tar Heels 86-65 which was unexpected along with the margin of victory. The Wolverines need a miracle 3-point shot at the buzzer to advance after trailing the entire second half. Michigan has to feel blessed and is playing on 'free' time. Take the WOLVERINES! |
03-21-18 | Western Kentucky +4.5 v. Oklahoma State | Top | 92-84 | Win | 100 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
Western Kentucky at Oklahoma State 8:00 ET Hilltoppers (+) over Cowboys- Oklahoma State was one of the schools that felt 'shafted' by the NCAA selection committee and they look like they are out to prove that they were good enough to make the 'Big Dance.' Western Kentucky on the other hand was good enough to get selected but a loss in the Conference USA final to Marshall 67-66. The Hilltoppers have been a great side the entire season posting a 13-6 ATS record away from home and a 22-12 ATS overall record. Take the points with WESTERN KENTUCKY! |
03-20-18 | Mississippi State +5.5 v. Louisville | Top | 79-56 | Win | 100 | 11 h 38 m | Show |
Mississippi State and Louisville 9:00 ET Bulldogs (+) over Cardinals- Louisville who usually is in the 'Big Dance' has a chance to go to the NIT semi-finals and a trip to New York's Madison Square Garden with a win tonight. This is the Cardinals first season without former coach Rick Pitino and they for the most part survived the turmoil and seek their fourth trip to the NIT semi's since 2006. Mississippi State dropped 3-of-4 before posting a pair of NIT victories against Nebraska and Baylor covering both contests. This should be another close contest where the points might come into play. Take the BULLDOGS! |
03-19-18 | Western Kentucky +4 v. USC | Top | 79-75 | Win | 100 | 13 h 9 m | Show |
Western Kentucky vs USC 11:30 ET Hilltoppers (+) over Trojans- USC is one of the only No. 1 seeds still alive but their issue is that they are playing in the NIT. The Trojans managed to win 103-98 in double overtime against UNC Ashville without their All-American center who is sitting out the tournament to protect his draft status. Also, their senior guard Jordon MeLaughlin is considering sitting out tonight. I DO NOT want teams whose players don't want to play...I want them hungry. The Hilltoppers will get it done insider where they hold a 345-point advantage in the paint. Take WESTERN KENTUCKY! |
03-18-18 | Florida State +5.5 v. Xavier | 75-70 | Win | 100 | 11 h 42 m | Show
Florida State vs Xavier 8:40 ET Seminoles (+) over Musketeers- These two teams meet for the second straight year in the second round as this year's No. 1 seed Xavier looks to repeat the 91-66 rout with another win over Florida State. The Musketeers have virtually the same squad as last season with the addition of graduate transfer Kerem Kanter and a pair of sophomores. The Seminoles who lost two starts from that team to the NBA has revenge on their mind and this one will be mush closer. Take FLORIDA STATE! |
03-18-18 | Clemson v. Auburn -122 | Top | 84-53 | Loss | -122 | 9 h 15 m | Show |
Clemson vs Auburn 7:15 ET War Eagles over Tigers- Despite his checkered back ground we know one thing for sure and that is that Bruce Pearl knows who to coach and recruit. Under his leadership Auburn is in the NCAA's for the first time since 2003. The War Eagles have lost three players including their starting center Anfernee McLemore to injury and suspensions and yet here they are. They forced 21 turnovers in their first round win and that same defense will lift them over their ACC name-sake. Take AUBURN! |
03-18-18 | Texas A&M +6.5 v. North Carolina | Top | 86-65 | Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
Texas A&M vs North Carolina 5:15 ET Aggies (+) over Tar Heels- Now, wait a second, I'm hearing that Texas A&M will try and rely on their hight advantage against North Carolina. Let me say this, if you have a height advantage over the Tar Heels you are a big sized team. The Aggies front court runs 6-10,6-10 and 6-9 as they are the fifth-ranked rebounding team in the country. A&M who out-rebounded Providence 44-26 have more experience at the post. Take TEXAS A&M! |
03-17-18 | Houston +3.5 v. Michigan | Top | 63-64 | Win | 100 | 12 h 13 m | Show |
Houston vs Michigan 9:40 ET Cougars (+) over Wolverines- Michigan enters this game for a 'Sweet-16' berth having won 10 in-a-row with four straight covers and 9-of-10 ATS. Houston has been on an up swing of their own and are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Comparing the season long 'numbers' of these two they come out very similar. Same course record on the road and at neutral sites with the Cougars holding a slight point differential advantage but of course they have player a lesser schedule. The thing is Las Vegas is giving Houston a huge amount of respect and so will I. Take the COUGARS! |
03-17-18 | Ohio State +3.5 v. Gonzaga | Top | 84-90 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 22 m | Show |
Ohio State vs Gonzaga 7:45 ET Buckeyes (+) over Zags- 'Sweet-16 here I come...' Yeah well, for who? Both these clubs were winners in tough first round competition as Gonzaga won their 15th straight and look to return deep into NCAA Tourney play. (Yeah, well who isn't) The interesting thing about this match-up is that they have played twice before. The first time in NCAA Tournament action in Pittsburgh where 2nd seeded OSU beat the 7th seeded Zags. The last time was earlier this season in Portland on November 23 as the Zags crushed the Buckeyes 86-59. Thing will be different Saturday night. Take OHIO STATE! |
03-17-18 | Seton Hall +4.5 v. Kansas | 79-83 | Win | 100 | 10 h 52 m | Show
Seton Hall at Kansas 7:10 ET Pirates (+) over Jayhawks- You know 'we' just might be learning something about the Big East as they step-up and meet the competition. The Jayhawks dropped their final Big-12 contest to Oklahoma State and then cruised through the conference champions and handled a well disciplined Penn squad for four straight covers. Seton Hall was ousted for the Big East tourney by Butler on a final second buzzer beating shot 75-74 and rebounded with a comfortable 94-83 win in Rd 1 over NC State and are 6-0 ATS in their last six overall. Take SETON HALL! |
03-16-18 | New Mexico State v. Clemson -4.5 | Top | 68-79 | Win | 100 | 13 h 56 m | Show |
New Mexico State vs Clemson 9:57 ET Tigers (-) over Aggies- It looks like the 'public' is expecting there to be plenty of support for New Mexico State as the games are being played in San Diego, where as Clemson has to travel from the east. The Tigers who are making their first appearance in the Tourney in seven years losing in the first round in its past five appearances. That isn't as bad as the Aggies who have lost its NCAA Tournament opener nine straight years. Take CLEMSON! |
03-16-18 | Butler v. Arkansas +2 | 79-62 | Loss | -107 | 6 h 47 m | Show
Butler vs Arkansas 3:10 ET Razorbacks (+) over Bulldogs- This one doesn't pass the eye test as No. 10 seed Butler is the Vegas favorite over No. 7 seed Arkansas. Okay. So my first instinct is is to be the anti-Christ and take the Bulldogs as a team with an inferior record and a 'higher' seed being favored! I believe Butler has gotten the benefit of the location of this game being played in Detroit a much closer proximity that Arkansas. The Razorbacks are 42-31 in NCAA tourney action including 20-11 in the first round and are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11. Take ARKANSAS! |
03-16-18 | Providence v. Texas A&M -2.5 | Top | 69-73 | Win | 100 | 3 h 59 m | Show |
Providence vs Texas A&M 9:15 ET Aggies (-) over Friars- A record eight SEC teams made the tournament with Tennessee the highest seed at No. 3 and Texas A&M is No. 7. Providence made a great run in the Big Tournament losing to Villanova in the Championship Game after defeating regular season champ Xavier. The Aggies started the year 11-1 and then opened SEC play 0-5 and finished 9-9. The Aggies have 11 NCAA wins with eight of them coming since 2006. A&M's balanced attack will wear the Friars out. Take TEXAS A&M. |
03-15-18 | St Bonaventure v. Florida -5 | Top | 62-77 | Win | 100 | 12 h 10 m | Show |
St. Bonaventure vs Florida 9:55 ET Gators (-) over Bonnies- St. Bonaventure set a school record with their 26th win over UCLA on Tuesday and are now facing the 6th seed Florida in Dallas. The last time the Bonnies made the 'Big Dance' it wasn't even a big dance in 1970 as Bob Lanier was the star. Florida struggled down the stretch losing five of their final eight games but is a tourney tested team that has played at least four games in each of the last five times they have reached the NCAA Tournament. Gators bit hard here...take FLORIDA! |
03-15-18 | Alabama +2 v. Virginia Tech | 86-83 | Win | 100 | 11 h 23 m | Show
Alabama vs Virginia Tech 9:20 ET Crimson Tide (+) over Hokies- Alabama coach Avery Johnson aid he wasn't surprised the Tide when so deep into the SEC tournament because of the leadership of freshman Collin Sexton who came to 'Bama with high expectations and he delivered on every front. Sexton who has been compared to Kimba Walker can take over a game at any point. Virginia Tech who has a negative rebounding margin are off a deflating loss to Notre Dame where they had a 21-point lead with 15 minutes left in the 2nd half and they will struggle against the Tide's quickness. Take ALABAMA! |
03-15-18 | Davidson +5 v. Kentucky | Top | 73-78 | Push | 0 | 9 h 13 m | Show |
Davidson vs Kentucky 7:10 ET Wildcats (+) over Wildcats- Davidson was able to qualify for the 'Tourney' by winning 11 of their last 13 games and upsetting top-seeded Rhode Island for the Atlantic-10 Championship and securing the bid. Kentucky's youth were able to put it together and win the SEC Tournament and now will face a pair of seniors including at A-10 Co-Player of the Year Peyton Aldridge who is anxious to face 'major' competition. Take DAVIDSON! |
03-14-18 | Nebraska v. Mississippi State -4 | Top | 59-66 | Win | 100 | 12 h 35 m | Show |
Nebraska at Mississippi State 9:00 ET Bulldogs (-) over Cornhuskers- These two had their NCAA 'bubble' dream burst as they were passed bye for the 'Big Dance' and now settle for a chance to pay at Madison Square Garden. Of these two squads the 'word' seems to be that it was Nebraska that got shafted in the selection process and yet are only a No. 5 seed. The Cornhuskers closed their regular season winning eight of the final nine games before being eliminated by Michigan 77-58. Mississippi State meanwhile is 18-2 at home which includes and early season loss to Nebraska 76-72 which helped the Cornhuskers to a 4-7 straight-up record on the road. Take NEBRASKA! |
03-13-18 | St Bonaventure +3.5 v. UCLA | Top | 65-58 | Win | 100 | 25 h 57 m | Show |
St. Bonaventure vs UCLA 9:10 ET Bonnies (+) over Bruins- Who ever wins this contest will enter the field of 64 as an 11-seed and will go to Dallas Thursday and play Florida. UCLA is making their 49th NCAA Tournament appearance and come in losing three of their last five games including the Pac-12 semi to Arizona getting out-scored 13-0 in overtime. St. Bonnies comes in losing to Davidson the eventually A-10 champion but have won 13 in-a-row before that conference playoff defeat. They are back in the 'Dance' first the first time since 2012. Both these clubs like to go with their starters and don't gibe the bench much of an opportunity and the Bonnies have better overall balance. Take ST. BONAVENTURE! |
03-10-18 | USC +3 v. Arizona | Top | 61-75 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 16 m | Show |
USC vs Arizona 10:00 ET Trojans (+) over Wildcats- After last night's 'Bad Beat' loss with UCLA (+6) in overtime against Arizona I have a knot in my stomach when looking at this contest. Arizona who won last season's Pac-12 Tournament came away with the ATS overtime win out-scoring the Bruins 13-2 in the extra period. The Wildcats have won the last four meetings between the two and have a huge 9-3 ATS advantage in the last 12 meetings. With such strong trends my question is why have the oddsmakers made this such a shallow line...Take the TROJANS! |
03-10-18 | West Virginia -120 v. Kansas | Top | 70-81 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
West Virginia vs Kansas 6:00 ET Mountaineers (+) over Jayhawks- Kansas has won 13 straight Big-12 regular season titles and has won the conference tournament seven times in 15 years while West Virginia hasn't won a conference championship since winning the Big East in 2010. The Jayhawks swept the season series 2-0 with a pair of 'covers.' I can see West Virginia with their tough pressing defense and pulling out the upset. Take the MOUNTAINEERS! |
03-10-18 | Houston +3.5 v. Wichita State | 77-74 | Win | 100 | 5 h 55 m | Show
Houston vs Wichita State 3:30 ET Cougars (+) over Shockers- Two of the better rebounding team is the nation face-off as No. 14 Wichita State has a plus-9.8 rebound differential and No.19 Houston posts an advantage of plus-7.8. Both these clubs are evenly matched as they enter this contest with the same overall record and split their pair of meetings this season with each winning as hosts. The Cougars have won their last four and are playing with confidence where as the Shockers are aware they blew the AAC regular season champions at hoe against Cincinnati a week ago and will feel the pressure here. Take HOUSTON! |
03-10-18 | Alabama +4 v. Kentucky | 63-86 | Loss | -103 | 3 h 18 m | Show
Alabama vs Kentucky 1:00 ET Crimson Tide (+) over Wildcats- No. 4 seed Kentucky has won three straight conference SEC Championships winning 12 of their last 13 SEC Tournament games. As if that isn't enough to intimidate Alabama how about nine straight wins over the Crimson and 16 of the last 18 meetings. It was in this same spot the semi-final where the Wildcats defeated the Tide 79-74. Things do get tighter in conference tournaments and the Tide are brimming with confidence after their huge 81-63 win over No. 1 seed Auburn. Stay with the momentum here. Take ALABAMA! |
03-09-18 | West Virginia v. Texas Tech +2 | 66-63 | Loss | -101 | 9 h 28 m | Show
West Virginia vs Texas Tech 9:00 ET Red Raiders (+) over Mountaineers- These two split their season series with both teams winning at home with the Mountaineers getting the 'money' in both games. Texas Tech hit a poor patch as they lost four in-a-row without senior guard Keenan Evans who was missing in the loss to West Virginia but have won their last two since his return. Yesterday was The Red Raiders first Big-12 Tournament win since the beat West Virginia in 2013...They do it agin here. Take TEXAS TECH! |
03-09-18 | North Carolina +4.5 v. Duke | Top | 74-69 | Win | 100 | 10 h 30 m | Show |
North Carolina vs Duke 9:30 ET Tar Heels (+) over Blue Devils- Always a treat when these two clash as the ACC 'elite' meet once again with No. 4 Duke against No. 11 North Carolina. The amazing thing to me is that the Blue Devils are where they are with four freshman and Grayson Allen the senior guard leading the way. Well, sort of, the 'big' man for Duke is freshman ACC Player of the Year Marvin Bagley III who had 33 points and 17 rebounds in yesterday's 88-70 win over Notre Dame. The two teams split this season each holding serve and wining at home and both are playing well at this time of the year as should be expected as Duke is 7-1 ATS in their last eight and the Tar Heels are 7-3 ATS in their last 10. What it comes down to is 'Can the Heels contain Bagley III?' They do have the size and coaching. Take NORTH CAROLINA! |
03-09-18 | UCLA +5.5 v. Arizona | Top | 67-78 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 1 m | Show |
U.C.L.A. vs Arizona 9:00 ET Bruins (+) over Wildcats- There sure will be plenty storylines on this Pac-12 tourney game being played at T-Mobil Arena in Las Vegas. We can start with Arizona coach Sean Miller who is in the mist of an FBI report (that can NOT be good under any circumstances) has returned to his duties and the Wildcats have won their last three. Although Arizona has won nine of its last 11 Pac-12 tourney games but that nemesis from Los Angeles the Bruins actually have the edge. UCLA is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 and 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings and the underdogs is 14-2 ATS in the last 16 meetings. Take UCLA! |
03-08-18 | Baylor +5 v. West Virginia | 65-78 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 16 m | Show
Baylor vs West Virginia 9:30 ET Bears (+) over Mountains- These two will meet for the third time with the Mountaineers winning the first two contests by holding the Bears to a 57 point average. The Bears are on the wrong side of the 'bubble' after having lost three of their final four one of those losses was to West Virginia. The Mountaineers with 22 wins should not have to worry about the 'bubble' as they have a number of quality wins over ranked opponents. The Bears have more incentive and double revenge. Take BAYLOR! |
