The Ottawa Senators host the Montreal Canadiens in game four of their opening round playoff series on Tuesday. Ottawa won game three in the series on Sunday, 6-1.
The Canadiens allowed six or more goals only once in the entire 2011-12 campaign, but in this shortened NHL season, the team did so for the sixth time in 51 games on Sunday.
To their credit, the team has shown incredible tenacity bouncing back from such situations. The Canadiens are 4-1 this season after allowing six or more goals. That lone loss was at Pittsburgh against the top-seeded Penguins.
The Canadiens have already displayed that bounce back ability in this series. The team followed up a loss in game one with a 3-1 victory in game two the very next night.

Winnipeg is 5-0-1 in their last six home games. The team needs to win on Thursday in order to give themselves a chance at making the playoffs, and in their final game of the season with their home crowd behind them, expect a spirited effort from the Jets.
Montreal has won four consecutive matchups in this series, but all four of those games were played in Montreal. The last time the Habs made the trip to Winnipeg, they came away with a 4-0 loss.
The Canadiens have been in a tailspin recently, dropping five of their last six games, with a team GAA of 4.67 in those contests.
The Canadiens have a far more important contest with the Maple Leafs on Saturday as they look to hold off the rival Buds and earn home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, so it would be understandable if the team looked ahead to that contest.

The Philadelphia Flyers host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday. The Flyers are coming off a 4-2 loss to the Rangers, while the Penguins beat the Lightning their last time out, 4-3.
Philadelphia struggled out of the gates, largely due to a road-heavy schedule to start the season. Because of that, the public has a low opinion of the Flyers at the moment. However, they have been a completely different team at the Wells Fargo Center. Philadelphia has won seven of their last 10 home games, including four of their last six.
Jakub Voracek has been a revelation for the Flyers this season. He has recorded 17 points in his last nine games and 24 points in his last 16 games. He has recorded seven goals and 13 points in his last 10 games against Pittsburgh, including a hat trick in the most recent meeting on February 20th.
Pittsburgh has lost two of their last three road contests, largely due to woeful play between the pipes. The team has allowed 16 goals in those three road games, needing seven goals to get past Montreal in their lone win. They allowed six goals in a losing effort the last time these teams met.
The Flyers are 7-3 in their last 10 home games. Take Philadelphia.

The team has been the tough luck loser in three straight contests, dropping three consecutive games in overtime, but their effort level in those games would indicate that a breakthrough is imminent.
The Panthers will have a golden opportunity to turn things around on Monday when they host a Maple Leafs team against whom they swept their four-game season series with a year ago.
The 3-0 win Toronto enjoyed over a lifeless Ottawa team was nothing more than a mirage. Ben Scrivens recorded the shutout, but just about anyone would have done the same against a Senators team that had spent the week mourning their playoff hopes.
The Senators were without Jason Spezza, Erik Karlsson, and Milan Michalek for that game, leaving their offense completely punchless. Toronto is in some real trouble until James Reimer returns.

The Minnesota Wild will look to pick up their first victory of the season when they travel to Calgary on Monday. The Flames are coming off of a 5-1 thrashing against Vancouver while the Wild pulled out a narrow 2-1 OT victory over Nashville.
The Wild were the talk of the offseason when they signed Zach Parise and Ryan Suter to long-term deals but they've failed to impress so far this season. Minnesota has scored only one goal in each of their last two road games and have managed only 24 goals in total in their eleven games this season.
With Miikka Kiprsuoff on the shelf for the Flames, Calgary will turn to Leland Irving between the pipes again. Irving is a fully capable netminder and will take solace in the fact that Calgary is 4-0-1 in its past five versus the Wild and have won back-to-back home matchups.

As we predicted, Toronto ran Montreal out of their own building on Saturday night but the Leafs had a significant size advantage over the Canadiens and were able to throw them around. Toronto won't enjoy that same luxury against a very physical Flyers squad.
Philadelphia's combination of physicality and skill players has given the Leafs some serious trouble in recent years as Toronto has been outscored 16-4 in five straight home losses to Philadelphia. In their most recent meeting, the Flyers handed the Leafs a 7-1 beating.

Luckily for them they had two days off prior to this game, leaving Darryl Sutter plenty of time to fix his team

The Anaheim Ducks host the San Jose Sharks on Monday. Anaheim is coming off a 7-4 win over Los Angeles, while San Jose dropped their last game to Nashville, 2-1.
Anaheim has won each of the first two games in their current three-game homestand. The team was the tough-luck loser in their last meeting with San Jose on Tuesday, as they out-shot the Sharks 30-18, only to fall in the shootout.
The Ducks are one of only two teams this season to hold the Sharks without a power play goal.
The Sharks lost their first game of the season on Saturday. The team cruised through the first week of their schedule, largely due to a highly effective power play. The Sharks scored 12 goals with the man advantage through their first five games, winning each contest by at least three goals.
Since then, they've scored just one power play goal in their last three. The team has managed to score just five goals in regulation in those three games, with each contest going to the shootout. Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau have each been held pointless in San Jose

Coyotes -120
The Phoenix Coyotes host the Minnesota Wild on Monday. Phoenix is coming off a 2-0 win over Dallas, while Minnesota dropped their last game to Anaheim, 3-1.
The Coyotes rely on Mike Smith as much as any team relies on their goaltender. They were lost without him, but now Smith is back and in fine form. Phoenix is coming off a 2-0 win over Dallas in which Smith recorded a shutout. That win gives Phoenix shutout wins in two of their last three home games.
Minnesota is 0-2-1 on the road this season, getting outscored 13-8 in those games.
The Wild put all their eggs in one basket when they placed Mikko Koivu, Zach Parise, and Dany Heatley on their top line. The unit hasn't recorded a single point in each of their last two games, and the team is severely lacking secondary scoring.
Kyle Brodziak finished second in team scoring a year ago, and is someone the team was counting on to provide a lot of that secondary scoring, but he has only one point through eight games.
Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom is 3-8-0 with a 2.85 GAA in his last 11 games against the Coyotes.
Dating back to last season, the Wild have lost five of their last six road games. Take Phoenix.

We knew it would take time for the new pieces in Carolina to fit together, and it looks like they finally are. The team has won three of their last five games, scoring 3.2 goals per game in the process.
Now they get to play at the Air Canada Centre, where they are 6-1-1 in their last eight visits. Captain Eric Staal is red hot with goals in each of his last three games, and nine total points in his last five.
There is plenty of trouble in Leaf-land these days. Phil Kessel still hasn't scored a goal through eight games, linemate Joffrey Lupul is out and won
