Interleague action today has the St Louis Cardinals playing at the Cleveland Indians. The Cardinals are 51-50, finally climbing back over the .500 mark. They have won seven of their last 10 games. The Cleveland Indians may be in 2nd in the AL Central, but they trail first place Chicago by 9.5-games. Kwang-Hyun Kim will start for the Cards. Kim is 6-5 on the season with a 2.88 ERA. HE's been even better of late with a 5-1 mark and 1.88 ERA. The Indians will start Zach Plesac. Plesac is 5-3 on the season with a 4.30 ERA. He's been slightly better at home with a 4.07 ERA and 0.952 WHIP. I like this to be a lower scoring game. Play UNDER.

Tigers came from behind on Tuesday as a big dog to get the money in extra innings over the Twins, 6-5. Now they look to do it again here tonight, only as a smaller dog. The Tigers have snapped a 5-game losing streak, but had won seven in row before that. They are in 3rd in the AL Central, 13-games back of the White Sox. The Twins are in last in the Central, 17.5-games back. They had lost six of their last 10 games. Wily Peralta will start today for the Tigers. Peralta has been good in his seven starts, posting a 3-2 record and nice 2.65 ERA. JA Happ will start for the Twins. Happ is 5-5 in his 18 starts with a 6.14 ERA. He's allowed 11 runs over his last 13 innings of work. Still not sure why the Tigers are a decent dog against a last place Minnesota team. They have the better start pitching too. Take Detroit.

Interleague game here on Tuesday as the Angels welcome the Colorado Rockies to twon. The Rockies have the bad luck of plying in the best division in baseball, the NL West, where they are 19.5-games back and done for the year. The Rocks have lost three straight games and six of their last 10. The Angels have won three straight games but still train in the AL West by 10-games to Houston. Colorado will start Austin Gomber. Gomber is 7-5 in his 16 starts with a 3.74 ERA. However, he hasn't done well on the road with a 3-4 record and 5.06 ERA. The Angels start Jose Suarez for just the fourth time this year. Suarez is 1-2 with a 3.95 ERA. I'll take the Angels here today. Play LA Angels.

AL Central battle here has the third place Detroit Tigers taking on the last place Minnesota Twins. The Tigers have lost four straight, but that they have been battling. They lost to the Royals by run run and lost last night to the Twins by one run. Before this recent losing streak they had won seven straight games. The Tigers start Tyler Alexander today who is 0-0 in his four starts with a 3.37 ERA. The Tigers have won three of his four starts this season. Kenta Maeda starts for the Twins. Maeda is 4-4 on the season with a 4.75 ERA. Not sure what warrants the Twins being almost a 2-dollar favorite here today. The Tigers battle in just about every game and that makes them a good shot at this price on Tuesday. Play Detroit.

 NL East battle here today as Philadelphia hosts Washington in game two of their series. The Phillies rallied for three runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to take game one of the series, 6-5. The Phils are now just 3.5-games back of the Mets in the East while the Nationals dropped to 8.5 back. The Nationals have also lost five straight games. Erick Fedde starts for the Nats today with a 4-7 record and 4.88 ERA. He's been slightly worse of late, going 1-3 with a 5.51 ERA over his last seven starts. Matt Moore starts for the Phillies. He's still looking for his first win after going 0-2 in his first eight starts with a 6.32 ERA. Neither pitcher looking all that good, but I like the Phillies bullpen to be the standout in this game against a Nationals team mired in a losing streak. Play Philadelphia.

The Chicago White Sox are walking away with the AL Central division, now up 9-games over 2nd place Cleveland. They are also the only team in the division with a winning record and a plus differential in runs with +115. The Royals sit four in the division, 16-games back of the Sox. The Royals have won five straight games. Kansas City will start Mike Minor today, who is 7-8 on the season with a 5.45 ERA. He's been worse than that over his last seven starts with a 2-5 record and a 7.28 ERA. Dallas Keuchel will start for the Sox with a 7-3 record and 4.16 ERA. He's bee slightly better in his last seven starts with a 3.82 ERA. I like the Sox here today with the better team and starter going. Play Chicago.

The Oakland A's have lost two straight and now dropped to 4.5-games back of the Houston Astros in the AL West. The Mariners are 3rd in the West, 7-games back of the Astros. Seattle has won two-straight games. The A's will start Cole Irvin who is 7-8 on the season with a 3.42 ERA. Seattle counters with Marco Gonzales who is 2-5 on the season with a 5.55 ERA. Neither pitcher is one I expect to be around much past the 5th inning here today. I'll take the over and look for runs scored today. Play OVER.

The Detroit Tigers have lost two straight, including Saturday's game to the Royals. Still, they are 7-3 their last 10 games. The Royals have now won four straight games, still 16-games back in the AL Central. The Tigers will start Tarik Skubal today with a 6-7 record and 4.25 ERA. He's been a bit worse on the road with a 5.45 ERA. Daniel Lynch will go for the Royals. Lynch is 0-2 in his three starts with a 15.73 ERA. Not sure how much longer they will go with this guy the way he's pitching. However, for me, this means a great over play today. Take OVER.

The Chicago White Sox are cruising in the AL Central, now 9-games ahead of 2nd place Cleveland. The Sox have one of the best run differentials in baseball with a +118. They play an IL Game here tonight at Milwaukee. The Brewers also find themselves in a comfortable situation, 6.5 games in the lead in the NL Central. The Sox will start Carlos Rondon today. Rondon having a fine season with a 8-3 record in 16 starts with a nifty 2.14 ERA. Rondon has allowed just one run over his last two starts (13 innings). Corbin Burnes will start for the Brewers. Burnes is 5-4 on the season with a 2.06 ERA and even better 1.86 ERA in his last seven starts. He's allowed three total runs over his last four starts (27 1/3 innings). Should be a great pitcher's duel here tonight. Play the UNDER.

The Toronto Blue Jays look to snap a three-game losing streak here today at the NY Mets. The Jays have fallen to 4th in the AL East, 9.5-games back of the Red Sox. The Mets are in 1st in the NL East, four-games up on 2nd place Philly. The Jays will start Hyun-Jin Ryu. Ryu is 9-5 on the season and a bright spot for the Jays. He has a solid 3.32 ERA and 3.21 road ERA. He's only allowed one run over his last two starts (12 innings). The Mets start All-Star Taijuan Walker. Walker is 7-3 on the season with a 2.99 ERA and 1.75 home ERA. Both pitchers are very good and for me, I'll take this one to go UNDER.

The Tampa Bay Rays are knocking on the door of first place Boston, now trailing the Red Sox by just 1-game. The Rays have the best run differential in the division with +87 runs. The Cleveland Indians have lost two straight games and now trail the White Sox in the AL Central by 9-games. The Tribe, soon to be Guardians, have a -26 run differential. The Rays will start Drew Rasmussen. Rasmussen makes his second start of the season and had a 9.00 ERA in his first start, just two innings against Washington allowing two runs. Cleveland will counter with Jean Carlos Mejia. Mejia looking for his first win, sitting 0-5 on the season with a 8.80 ERA. Two bad pitchers here with good hitting teams. Take the OVER.

The Detroit Tigers playing great ball of late as they have won seven straight games. They just swept the Texas Rangers four games to none and the Twins before that, three games to none. The Royals have a modest 2-game win streak going here. Wily Peralta will start for the Tigers with his 3-1 record in six starts. Peralta has a nifty 1.71 ERA and 0.947 WHIP. Kris Bubic will start for the Royals. Bubic has a 1-3 record in eight starts with a 6.34 ERA. I like the visitors here today as they are on nice win streak and have the better starter going. This storied rivalry continues here on Friday as the Yankees lost to the Red Sox on Thursday, 4-5. The Red Sox hold a one-game lead in the AL East over the Tampa Bay Rays with the Yankees a distant 8-games back. The Yankees will start Gerrit Cole here tonight. Cole has a 10-4 record this season with a 2.63 ERA. The Sox will counter with Eduardo Rodriquez, who is 7-5 on the season with a 5.19 ERA. Cole the much better starter here today while the Sox playing the better ball overall. I'm going to take the visitors in this one. PLay the Yankees.

The Cubs and Cards had to go to extra innings last night, but the Cardinals came out on top 3-2. These teams were tied in the standings yesterday, but now the Cards are 48-48 and Chicago is 47-49. The Cubs will start Adbert Alzolay tonight with a 4-9 record and 4.59 ERA. He's been worse lately with a 1-5 record and 5.79 ERA his last seven starts. Kwang-Hyun Kim will start for the Cards. Kim is 5-5 on the season with a 2.87 ERA. He's been very good of late with a 4-1 record and 1.64 ERA over his last seven starts. I had the Cards last night, I'll be on them again here tonight. Play St Louis.

 NL Central matchup here today has the 3rd place Chicago Cubs and St Louis Cardinals meeting up. Both teams tied with 47-48 records. Adam Wainwright will start tonight for the Cards. Wainwright is 7-6 with a 3.71 ERA. However, he's been better at home with a 4-4 record and 2.84 ERA and 0.973 WHIP. Cubs will send Kyle Hendricks to the hill tonight. Hendricks is 12-3 on the season with a 3.90 ERA. He's been slightly better on the road with a 3.40 ERA. This should be a very good matchup. I will take the Cardinals here tonight with Wainwright pitching well at home. Play St Louis.

The Texas Rangers are last in the NL West, now 21.5-games back of Houston. The Rangers have lost six straight games and eight of their last 10 games. The Detroit Tigers are in 3rd in the AL Central with a 44-51 record. They are 13.5-games back of the White Sox and have won four straight games. The Rangers start Dane Dunning tonight. Dunning is 3-6 on the season with a 4.21 ERA. He's been much worse on the road with a 0-4 record and 6.54 ERA. The Tigers will start Tarik Skubal tonight who is 5-7 on the season with a 4.45 ERA. He's been better at home with a 3.78 ERA. Rangers in a bad slump with a poor pitcher on the hill. I'll take the host in this one. Play the Tigers.

The NY Mets continue to hold onto their first place slot in the NL EAST, with a 2-game lead over the Phillies and a 4-game lead over the Braves. The Mets have lost two games recently after a 5-5 stretch over their last 10 games. The Cincinnati Reds are in 2nd place in the NL Central, but they are 7-games back of the Brewers. The Reds look to snap a 3-game losing streak today at home to the Mets. The Mets will start Jerad Eickhoff who is 0-1 after just two starts this season. His last start coming on June 28th at Washington where he allowed five runs and eight hits over six innings. Vladimir Gutierrez will toe the rubber today for the Reds. Gutierrez is 4-3 in his nine starts with a 4.29 ERA. He has two excellent starts in a row, allowing three total runs over 12 innings. I'll take the Reds to bounce back today and snap that losing streak. Play Cincinnati.

The San Diego Padres have faded to 3rd in the NL West, now 5.5 games back of the Giants. At 5-5 in their last 10 games that's just not good enough to stick with two of the best teams in baseball in the Giants and Dodgers. Meanwhile, the Nationals are 4th in the NL East with a 42-48 record. The Nats have lost five straight now after Saturday's setback. Max Scherzer will try and end that losing skid today. Scherzer is 7-4 on the season with a nifty 2.66 ERA. He's been better at home with a 1.90 ERA and sizzling 0.697 WHIP. Joe Musgrove will toe the rubber today for the Padres. Musgrove is 5-7 on the season with a 3.18 ERA. His ERA has gone up the last seven games to 4.30. Today, I like the Nats to end their losing streak with their Ace on the hill. Play Washington.

An AL Central battle here of teams in the mid-part of the race. The Minnesota Twins have climbed out of last place and now are in 4th, 16-games back of the White Sox. Meanwhile, the Tigers are in 3rd, 14-games back. The Tigers have won two straight against the Twins and look for the sweep here today before welcoming to Texas to town. The Twins start JA Happ today. Happ is 5-4 on the season with a 5.90 ERA. He's been slightly worse over his last seven starts with a 6.75 ERA. The Tigers will start Wily Peralta today. Peralta is 2-1 in his five starts with a 2.19 ERA. He has one start at home where he beat Houston, allowing no runs in a no decision. I'll take the Tigers in a sweep here today with Peralta. The Houston Astros are holding onto a 3.5-game lead in the AL West over the Oakland A's. The Astros have won two straight games and seven of their last 10. The Chicago White Sox are in 1st in the AL Central and lead the Cleveland Indians by 8-games. The White Sox lost to the Astros on Friday but have won six of their last 10 games. Jake Odorizzi will start today for the Astros. Odorizzi is 3-4 with a 3.95 ERA. He's been better of late with a 3-2 record and 2.55 ERA over his last seven starts. Lucas Giolito starts for the Sox with a 7-6 record and 4.15 ERA. Giolito is 2-2 with a 4.79 ERA over his last seven starts. Astros playing too well to overlook in this spot. Take Houston.

The Miami Marlins are a very strange team. They are in last place in the NL East with a 40-51 record, yet they have the best run differential in the division at +21 runs. The Philadelphia Phillies are in 2nd in the division with a 45-45 record and 3-games back of the Mets. Zach Thompson starts for the Marlins with a 2-2 record in his five starts. Thompson has a nice 2.63 ERA and 1.000 WHIP. He has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his starts and three runs in his last start. Vincent Velasquez will toe the rubber for the Phillies with a 3-4 record in his 14 starts. Velasquez has a 5.24 ERA and a 6.89 ERA over his last seven starts. Marlins have the better starter and always a good dog play. Play Miami.

The LA Angels finished the first half of the season with a 7-3 run in their last 10 games. Still, they are 4th in the AL West with a 45-44 record, 9-games back of the Astros. The Seattle Mariners were 6-4 to close out the first half of the season and are in 3rd in the West, 7-games back of the Astros. Chris Flexen will start for the Mariners today. Flexen had a nice 1st half of the season with a 8-3 record through 16 starts. He had a 3.51 ERA and a 2.62 ERA his last seven starts. Andrew Heaney will go for the Angels. Heaney was 5-6 in the 1st half with a 5.38 ERA. He was 4-3 in his last seven starts with a 5.45 ERA. Flexen has been really good and the better starter today. Plus we get him at a dog price. Value here on the visitors. Play Seattle.

The LA Dodgers had a fine first half, one of the best in baseball if not for the Giants. The Giants lead the NL West with baseball's best record of 57-32. Dodgers have second most wins in baseball, but still 2-games back of the Giants. The Rockies have been steadily improving, though they have no shot in this division sitting 18-games back. Julio Urias will start for the Dodgers. Urias is 11-3 on the season with a 3.64 ERA. Antonio Senzatela is 2-8 for the Rockies through 17 starts. He has a 4.58 ERA and an even better 3.75 home ERA. Considering the Rockies improved play and playing at home with a pitcher that has been decent in Coors, I'll take the huge dog price here with the host. Play Colorado.

All Star game here on Tuesday from Colorado after last year's game was cancelled due to the abbreviated Covid-19 season. There will be missing players from this game. Most notably are Dodgers' Mookie Betts, as he's citing injuries that he's battled as the reason. Also missing, all the Astros players, including Altuve, Correa, Brantley and Pressly. Most of the Astros will opt out likely because of recent cheating allegations against Houston. That will make the Astros the only team in MLB with no players attending the Mid-season classic. Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom will also opt out of the All-Star game. Still, there will be plenty of players and action. Last year's game was a 4-3 AL win. The AL has dominated this series, especially of late as they have won seven straight. They have also been lower scoring games with only the 2018 game getting more than nine runs (8-6 AL win). Despite the lower scoring games in recent years I'm going with the OVER here today. This also has one of the highest totals in recent memory, a 10 1/2 or 11 on this game. Expect to see a higher scoring game on Tuesday. Play the OVER.

Dodgers scored 22 runs on Saturday against this Arizona team. The D'backs likely used everyone in the pen and that is bad news for today. Dodgers to big a favorite to lay by themselves, but they are part of my 3-team MLB parlay.

It's a 3-team race in the NL West as the Padres right now are that third team in third place. The Padres continue to be a big hitting team and today should have little issue with this poor Rockies team. Play San Diego as part of my 3-team Sunday MLB parlay.

Giants holding onto a slim lead in the NL West over the Dodgers. Giants are a big favorite here today but I'm going to include them as part of my 3 team baseball parlay.

NL Central contest here today between division leading Milwaukee Brewers and 2nd place Cincinnati Reds. The Reds trail Milwaukee by 5-games. They closed the gap by winning two straight games and eight of their last 10 while the Brewers are just 5-5 over their last 10 games. Luis Castillo goes today for the Reds. Castillo is just 3-10 on the season with a 4.81 ERA. However, he's pitched much better of late, posting a 2-2 record and 2.00 and 0.956 WHIP over his last seven starts. In fact, he has not allowed more than three runs in any of those starts. Brandon Woodruff will toe the rubber today for the Brewers. Woodruff is 7-4 in his 17 starts with a nifty 2.10 ERA and 0.783 WHIP. Both these pitchers have been very good and I'm taking the UNDER today. Play UNDER.

The New York Yankees took game one of their series with the Houston Astros on Friday, 4-0. Even with that win, the Yankees are just 5-5 their last 10 games and 9-games back of the Red Sox in the AL East. The Astros have dropped two straight, but still maintain a 4.5-game lead in the NL West over the Oakland A's. The Yankees will start Gerrit Cole here today who is 8-4 on the season with a 2.91 ERA. However, he has struggled a bit over his last seven starts with just a 2-2 record and 4.69 ERA. Zack Greinke will start for the Astros with a 8-2 record and 3.64 ERA. He's 4-0 with a 3.15 ERA over his last seven starts. Two veteran, top line starters here today, but I'll take the Astros in this one. Play Houston.

The Boston Red Sox have won seven of their last 10 games and are 2.5 games out in front in the AL East over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Red Sox will take on NL East foe Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies are in 3rd in the NL East with a 42-44 record. The Phillies will start Matt Moore today. Moore is 0-1 in his five starts with a 6.30 ERA. The Red Sox will start Martin Perez with his 7-4 record in his 17 starts. Perez has a 3.89 ERA and has allowed just four runs over his four start. Take the Red Sox today.

The Giants have won two straight games and extended the NL West lead over the Dodgers to 2-games. The Giants will start Anthony Desclafani today who is 9-3 with a 2.84 ERA. He's been even better his last seven starts with a 1.99 ERA and 5-1 record. The Nationals are in 4th place in the NL East with a 42-45 record. They have lost two straight and seven of their last 10 games. Veteran Jon Lester will start today with a 2-3 record and 5.34 ERA this season. The Giants should take this game as Lester is on the downside of his career. Play Giants -1.5 runs.

Total collapse of the Washington Bullpen last night in San Diego. The Nationals jumped out to a 8-0 lead and then gave it all away to lose 8-9 in the 9th inning. They used about every reliever they had in the bullpen last night. Now they have to go to 1st place San Francisco to play the Giants. Paolo Espino is 2-1 for the Nats with a 2.41 ERA, but he doesn't have enough starts yet to know if he's that good or just has been fortunate. Logan Webb will start for the Giants with a 4-3 record and a 3.94 ERA. He's allowed just two total runs over his last three starts (17 innings). Have to side with Giants here against what should be a depleted Nats bullpen. Play the Giants.

 The New York Yankees are tumbling in the AL East, now 9-games back of the Boston Red Sox. They lost yesterday and are 4-6 over their last 10 games. They also have a -3 run differential on the season. Meanwhile, Houston has been getting better, now opening up a 4.5-game lead in the AL West over the Oakland A's. The Yankees will start Nestor Cortes. Cortes is only making his 2nd start of the season. His first went just 3 1/3 innings and he allowed two hits and one run. Expect something similar here today as he likely won't go much past the third inning. The Astros will start Jake Odorizzi, who is 3-3 in his nine starts with a 4.10 ERA. He's been better of late, allowing just a 2.43 ERA and a 3-1 record over his last seven starts. I'll take the Astros at home over a Yankee team that is struggling. Play Houston.

The Miami Marlins lost to the Dodgers on Thursday to finish out their series with LA, 1-6. Still, the Marlins took three of four from the Dodgers but are still in last place in the NL East with a 38-48 record. The Atlanta Braves had Thursday off as they open this series in Miami on Friday. The Braves are in 3rd in the East with a 42-44 record. Surprisingly, the Marlins though in last, have the best run differential in the division at +20! The Braves will start Charlie Morton who is 7-3 in his 17 starts. Marton has a 3.82 ERA and a 1.130 WHIP. The Marlins will counter with Zach Thomson who is 2-2 in five starts with a nice 2.63 ERA and even better 1.64 home ERA. Morton has been very good though his record doesn't reflect his hart work. I'm taking Miami as a home dog with a good pitcher on the mound. Play Miami.

Washington has climbed to 2nd in the NL East with a 42-43 record, now just 4-games back of the Mets. Max Scherzer gets the start today with a 7-4 record in his 16 starts. He has a very nice 2.10 ERA and has been better of late, posting a 1.89 ERA over his last 7 starts. The Padres are just 5-5 over their last 10 games and have fallen into 3rd in the NL West, 4.5 games back of the Giants. Yu Darvish will to the rubber tonight. Darvish is 7-3 in his 17 starts with a 2.65 ERA. However, he's only 2-2 in his last seven starts with a 4.02 ERA. Scherzer is too good to pass on this dog price with him and the Nationals. Play Washington.

The Detroit Tigers have won seven of their last 10 games and climbed past KC into 3rd in the AL Central, though they are still 11.5-games back of the White Sox. The Twins remain in last in the division after losing their last two games and seven of the last 10. They are now 15.5-games out of 1st place. Tarik Skubal starts for the Tigers tonight. Skubal is 5-6 on the season with a 4.44 ERA and slightly worse 5.67 road ERA. JA Happ will toe the rubber for the Twins. Happ is 4-4 on the season with a 6.09 ERA and has a 6.88 ERA over his last seven games. Both pitchers coming off poor starts and as such I'm taking the over here tonight. Play OVER.

The Houston Astros look to extend their win streak to six games here tonight vs the A's. The Astros took over first place from the A's and have now opened up a 4.5-game lead in the AL West. The A's have lost two straight and seven of their last 10 games to drop to second in the division. Sean Manaea will start for the A's tonight. Manaea is 6-5 in his 17 starts with a 3.13 ERA. Luis Garcia will start for the Astros. Garcia is 6-4 in his 14 starts with a 3.1 ERA. He's been even better at home with a 2.52 ERA. Astros playing very well and while these pitchers are evenly matched, the teams are going in opposite directions right now. Play Houston.

The St Louis Cardinals have dropped to 4th in the NL Central with a 42-43 record, now 9-games back of the Brewers. The Cardinals won yesterday and have won six of their last 10 games but still have a -39 run differential this season. The Giants cling to a slim 1/2-game lead over the Dodgers as both clubs lost last night. The Giants are 53-31 and have a run differential of +104 runs. Adam Wainwright will start today for the red birds. Wainwright is 6-5 in his 16 starts with a 3.49 ERA and worse 5.35 road ERA. However, he has been pitching well of late, posting a 4-1 record and 2.93 ERA over his last seven starts. Johnny Cueto will start for the Giants. Cueto is 6-4 in his 13 starts with a 4.00 ERA. At home he's been good, posting a 5-2 record and 2.81 ERA. Both pitchers do well in their current spots and I look for a lower scoring contest here tonight. Play UNDER.

They are 14-games back of the White Sox and are just 2-8 their last 10 games. Victor Gutierrez starts tonight for the Reds. Gutierrez is 3-3 in his seven starts with a 4.93 ERA. The Royals will turn to Mike Minor. Minor is 6-6 in his 17 starts with a 5.32 ERA and slightly worse 5.57 ERA at home. Minor has allowed 14 runs over his last 10 innings of work. Neither pitcher doing all that well as both are having mediocre seasons. I'll take the Royals at home today. Play Kansas City.

The Colorado Rockies definitely not having the kind of season they expected when this campaign started. The Rockies are 17-games back in the tough NL West division with only Arizona worse. They face the St Louis Cardinals today. The Cards are in 4th in the NL Central, 10-games back of the Brewers. The NL Central is being dominated by the Brewers, who are 8-games ahead of the next team (Reds). Carlos Martinez starts for the Redbirds today. Martinez is 4-9 in his 15 starts with a 6.15 ERA and and even worse 7.08 road ERA. German Marquez will start for the Rockies with his 7-6 record in 17 starts. Marquez has been very good of late, allowing just one run and four total hits over his last three starts (23 innings) for three straight wins. I like Marquez again here today. Play Colorado.

The Cleveland Indians are in 2nd in the AL Central, now six games back thanks to a 5-game losing streak and losing eight of their last 10 games. Zack Greinke starts today for the Astros. Greinke is 8-2 in his 17 starts with a 3.65 ERA and 2.06 road ERA. Cal Quantrill will start for the Tribe with his 0-1 record in six starts. Quantrill has a lofty 7.06 ERA and has allowed 10 runs over his last 7 2/3 innings of work. Astros continue their streak here today. Play Houston.

The San Diego Padres have dropped back to 4.5-games behind the San Francisco Giants in the NL West. The Padres have lost three straight games. The Phillies have won two straight games and are four back of the NY Mets in the NL East. The Mets are the only team in the East with a winning record. The Padres will start Blake Snell who has a 5.29 ERA this season. Snell has been great at home, posting a 3-0 record in his seven starts with a 1.43 ERA. However, on the road that number is 0-3 with a 10.36 ERA. The Phillies will start Vincent Velasquez who is 3-2 in his 12 starts with a 3.99 ERA. Valasquez is coming off a very nice start, allowing no runs and just two hits over seven innings vs the Marlins. The Chicago White Sox have opened up a 6-game lead in the AL Central over the Cleveland Indians. This is thanks to a 5-game winning streak by the Sox. The Detroit Tigers are 3rd in the conference, 13.5-games back of the White Sox. The Sox will start Dallas Keuchel today. Keuchel is 6-2 in his 15 starts this season with a 3.87 ERA. He's allowed more than three earned runs just one time in his last seven starts. The Tigers will send Tarik Skubal to the hill today. Skubal is 4-6 in his 14 starts with a 4.13 ERA and slightly better 3.20 ERA at home. Skubal has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last seven starts. Both pitchers are good, but the Sox hold all the other edges. I'll stick with the team on a hot win streak. Play Chicago.

The Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays both fading away in the AL East as the Boston Red Sox have won seven straight games. The Sox now lead the Rays by 3.5 games and the Jays by 8.5 games. Both Tampa and Toronto come into this series starting tonight on losing streaks with the Rays losing three straight and the Jays two. Tampa will start Luis Patino tonight, making just his fourth start of the year and first since May 18th. Patino was 0-1 in those three starts with a 4.50 ERA and 10.81 ERA in his one away start. Toronto starts Alek Monoah who is 1-0 in his six starts with a 3.34 ERA and home 3.86 ERA. He's coming off a nice start on June 25th where he allowed Baltimore just four hits over six innings with no earned runs. The San Francisco Giants saw their lead over the Dodgers in the NL West cut to just 1.5-games after losing all three games in LA. Now they turn to the worst team maybe in all of baseball, the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arizona is just 22-60 on the season and 29.5-games back of the Giants. They have also lost four straight and eight of their last 10 games. The Giants start Johnny Cueto tonight, who is 6-3 on the season with a 3.63 ERA. He's been slightly better at home with a 5-2 record and 2.81 ERA. Merrill Kelly will to the rubber for the D'backs. Kelly is 4-7 on the season with a 4.73 ERA and slightly worse 5.73 road ERA. This one can be billed as the Penthouse vs the Outhouse and for me, I prefer the Penthouse. Play San Francisco.

The LA Angels take on the NY Yankees tonight and will start Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani not only has a nice 3-1 record with a 2.58 ERA, but he's hitting .278 on the season with 28 home runs. Ohtani makes a double threat for the Angels, something not really seen on this level since Babe Ruth. Ohtani homered twice in the house that Ruth built on Tuesday, making three round trippers at Yankee stadium over the last two days. Domingo German will try to stop the Angels today with a 4-5 record and 4.32 ERA. For me, getting the Angels as a small dog here with Ohtani on the hill and in the batter's box is good enough. Play the LA Angels.

The Dodgers drew a game closer to the division leading Giants with a win over San Francisco last night, 3-2. The Giants now lead the Dodgers by 2.5 games in the NL West. The Giants will start Kevin Gausman tonight. Gausman is 8-1 in his 15 starts with a 1.49 ERA and 0.755 WHIP. Gausman has been even better on the road with a 5-1 record and 1.02 ERA. The Dodgers start Walker Beuhler tonight. Buehler is 7-1 on his 15 starts with a 2.51 ERA. Both these pitchers are outstanding and this should be a great matchup. The Cincinnati Reds are in third place in the NL Central, 6-games back of the Milwuakee Brewers. They take on the 3rd place NL West San Diego Padres tonight. The Padres were in first for a while, but have now dropped four games back of the Giants. The Padres start Blake Snell tonight. Snell is just 3-3 on the season with a 5.29 ERA. Snell has been great at home where he is 3-0 with a 1.43 ERA. However, on the road he's just 0-3 with a 10.36 ERA in his eight starts. The Reds will counter with Tony Santillan. Santillan is 1-1 in his three starts with a 3.29 ERA. Getting the Reds as a home dog here against a poor road pitcher in Snell is too much to pass on. Play Cincinnati.

Miami Marlins are a bit of an enigma. They are in last place in the NL East, 8.5-games back of the NY Mets. Yet, they have the best run differential in the division at +17 runs. They will face a Philly team that is in 4th place in the division, 5-games back of the Mets. The Phillies will start Vincent Velasquez today who is 2-2 in his 11 starts with a 4.53 ERA. The Marlins start Trevor Rogers today. Rogers is 7-4 in his 15 starts with a 2.18 ERA and 2.01 road ERA. Marlins have some decent pitching, evidenced by their plus run differential. The San Francisco Giants have opened up a 3.5-game lead over the LA Dodgers in the NL West as these two hated rivals open a pivotal series here tonight at Chavez Ravine. The Giants start Anthony Desclafani who is 8-2 in his 15 starts with a 2.77 ERA. He's been very good on the road with a 4-1 record and 1.84 ERA. Trevor Bauer will start for the Dodgers with a 7-5 record in his 16 starts and a 2.57 ERA. Dodgers are a very big favorite here tonight. With Desclafani on the hill I see a lot of value with this dog. Play San Francisco.

The Cubs and Brewers are battling for the lead in the NL Central. The Cubs trail the Brewers by 3-games after losing three straight while the Brewers have won five straight. They hope to take a bite out of that lead here tonight. Kyle Hendricks will start for the Cubs. Hendricks is 10-4 in his 15 starts with a 3.84 ERA. Hendricks has allowed no runs over his last 12 innings with 12 KO's and two BB's. The Brewers start Freddy Peralta who is 7-2 in his 14 starts with a 2.16 ERA and an even better 1.62 home ERA. Peralta has not allowed over two runs in any of his last eight starts. Looks like a low scoring game here on Monday. Play UNDER.

Reason: The Washington Nationals have climbed their way back into the NL East race, now in 2nd place just 5-game back of the Mets. The Marlins have won two straight, but they are still in last place with a 33-43 record. The Nats will start Max Scherzer today. Lots of trade rumors swirling around Scherzer, but you wonder if those will persist now that the Nats are back in the race for the division. Scherzer is 6-4 on the season with a 2.19 ERA. He's allowed two runs or fewer in each of his last nine starts. Miami will counter with Sandy Alcantara. Alcantara is 4-6 in his 16 starts with a 2.84 ERA and slightly better 2.19 home ERA. Alcantara has allowed just three total runs over his last four starts (30 1/3 innings). He also goes deep into games, with at least eight inning pitched in four of his last six games. Should be a good pitchers duel here today. I'm taking UNDER.

The NY Mets have opened up a 5-game lead in the NL East. They have done this despite winning just five of their last 10 games. The only team who has done better has been the Nationals and they have moved into 2nd place. The Phillies have dropped to fourth place in the division thanks to a 3-7 mark their last 10 games. Philly will turn to Zack Wheeler today to get things going. Wheeler is 5-4 in his 15 starts with a 2.36 ERA. He has a slightly better 2.04 road ERA and 2-2 record. Wheeler has been very consistent, allowing three runs or fewer in each of his last nine starts. The Mets turn to Marcus Stroman today. Stroman is 6-5 in his 15 starts with a 2.32 ERA. He's been better at home with a 1.96 ERA. Like Wheeler, Stroman has not allowed more than three runs in any of his last seven starts. Both pitchers are good and that should keep this one lower scoring. Play UNDER.

The Atlanta Braves have dropped to third place in the NL East, now 5-games back of the NY Mets. The Cincinnati Reds are in third place in the NL Central, five-games back of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Braves start Ian Anderson today. Anderson is 5-3 in his 14 starts with a 3.33 ERA. Luis Castillo will toe the rubber for the Reds. Castillo having a poor season at 2-10 in his 15 starts and a 5.61 ERA. Both these teams should get their good share of runs today. I'll take the OVER.

The Washington Nationals move up the NL East division continues as they not only have won four straight games, but nine of their last 10. They now are just 4-games back of division leading NY Mets. The Miami Marlins are last in the division with a 31-42 record and have lost three straight and seven of their last 10 games. The Nats will start Joe Ross today. Ross is only 3-7 on the season with a 4.54 ERA. He's a bit better on the road with a 2-4 record and 3.76 ERA. Ross saw his 14 inning scoreless streak come to an end last game as he lost at the Mets allowing five runs over five innings. Cody Poteet toes the rubber for the Marlins. Poteet is 2-2 in his six starts with a 3.90 ERA. For me, this game is about momentum. The Nationals have it and the Marlins don't. Play Washington.

The Oakland A's have dropped out of first place in the AL West, now trailing the Houston Astros by one game. The Astros have been red hot, winning 9 straight games. The A's have won seven of their last 10, but it wasn't enough to see them drop from the top spot. The A's look to get back to top dog with their game tonight at Texas. The Rangers are 2-8 over their last 10 games and are 19-games back of the Astros in the West. The A's will start James Kaprielian who is 4-1 on the season with a nice 2.84 ERA. Mike Foltynewicz starts for the Rangers. Foltynewicz is 1-7 in his 14 starts with a 5.59 ERA. Rangers slumping too much to play on them with a poor starter. I'll take Oakland here on Wednesday.

The Washington Nationals look to continue their surge as they go for their fourth straight win here today. The Nats have also won eight of their last 10 games. They are now just four games back of division leading NY Mets, as they are tie with Both Atlanta and Philly for 2nd place. The Philadelphia Phillies have lost two straight and now trail the Mets by four games. They are also in a dogfight with the Braves and Nationals, all three tied for 2nd place. The Nats will start Erick Fedde who is 4-4 on the season with a 3.33 ERA. Fedde has been excellent of late, allowing no runs over his last three starts (19 innings). The Phils will start Vincent Velasquez who is 2-2 on the season with a 4.18 ERA. I really like the way Fedde is pitching and the Nationals are hot. Play Washington.

The Colorado Rockies travel to the Northwest tonight to take on the Seattle Mariners. The Rockies are in 4th place in the NL West, 16.5-games behind division leading San Francisco. The Rockies look to snap a two-game losing streak here tonight. They will do this with Kyle Freeland on the hill. Freeland is 0-2 in his five starts with a lofty 9.58 ERA and slightly better 9.00 ERA on the road. The Mariners are in 3rd place in the AL West, 7-games back of the Astros. The M's have won four straight. Chris Flexen will start tonight with a 6-3 record and 4.12 ERA. He's been better at home with a 4-2 record and 2.16 ERA. I'll take the M's at home tonight. The Miami Marlins are in last in the NL East, 8-games back of the first place Mets. The Marlins are coming off a loss to the Cubs, 0-2. However, they did take the series from Chicgao, two games to one, scoring 21 runs in their two wins. The Toronto Blue Jays have won two straight games, yet they are still 7-games back in the AL East. They will send Ross Stripling to the hill today. Stripling is 2-4 in his 10 starts with a 4.32 ERA. Sandy Alcantara will toe the rubber for the fish. Alacantara is 4-6 in his 15 starts with a very respectable 2.99 ERA and 2.38 home ERA. I'm going to take the Marlins here with a solid Alcantara on the hill. Play Miami.

The Cincinnati Reds hope that this new IL series starting today in Minnesota will break their 4-game losing streak. The Reds are now four games back of the Cubs and Brewers who are tied for 1st in the NL Central. The Reds were swept by the Padres in their four game series, including Sunday's loss 2-3. Meanwhile, the Twins have won four straight games, but still are 12.5-games back of the White Sox in the AL Central. The Reds start Tyler Mahle today. Mahle is 7-2 in his 14 starts with a nice 3.27 ERA. He's been even better on the road with a 5-1 record and 1.45 ERA. J.A. Happ starts for the Twins. Happ is 3-3 in his 12 starts with a lofty 6.12 ERA. Happ has allowed at least four runs in six of his last seven starts. I look for the Reds behind Mahle to get back in the win column today. The Dodgers are within 1.5 games of first place in the NL West after winning two straight and eight of their last 10 games. The Dodgers have the highest run differential in the National League at +102 runs. They face one the worst run differential team in the NL in the Arizona Diamondbacks at -1.06. The D'backs are done and we aren't even to the All-Star break yet. Arizona has lost 16 straight games and are 25.5 games back of the Giants. What else can you say about this Arizona team, they are just bad. The Dodgers are hot and I really don't care who they have on the mound today, I'll lay the run line in this one. Play LA -1.5 runs.

The Houston Astros have climbed their way back into the AL West race with the Oakland A's. The Astros gained a game and are now just one-game back of Oakland thanks to a six-game winning streak by Houston. The Astros have the best run differential in baseball with a +106 number. Today they face the AL Central leading Chicago White Sox. The Sox hold a 3.5 game lead over the Cleveland Indians. The Sox start Dallas Keuchel today. Keuchel is 6-1 in his 14 starts with a 3.66 ERA. Houston counters with Lance McCullers who is 3-1 in his 10 starts with a 2.89 ERA. Both pitchers are good but I'm sticking with the red-hot Astros in this one. Play Houston.

The Milwaukee Brewers are just one game back of AL Central leading Chicago Cubs. They are this close despite losing five straight games. The Colorado Rockies have won five straight games, but still sit in 4th in the NL West 15.5-games back of the Giants. Adrian Houser starts today for the Brewers. Houser is only 4-5 but has a nice 3.77 ERA on the season. Houser has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts. Austin Gomber toes the rubber for the Rockies today. Gomber is 6-5 on the season with a 3.54 ERA. He's been outstanding at home, going 3-1 with a 0.95 ERA. Expect a low scoring contest here tonight. Play UNDER.

The San Francisco Giants ran their win streak to five games and have won seven of their last 10 games. They still have a 2.5-game lead in the NL West over the Dodgers and the Padres have fallen six games back. The Phillies are in 2nd place in the NL East, 4.5-games back of the division leading Mets. The Phillies will start Aaron Nola here today. Nola has a 5-4 record and 3.69 ERA this season. He's a bit worse on the road with a 4.99 ERA. Alex Wood starts for the Giants. The Chicago White Sox lost to the Houston Astros on Thursday, 2-10. The loss knocked a game off the Sox AL Central lead over the Indians, now 3.5-games. Still, the Sox have won seven of their last 10 games. The Astros have won eight of their last 10 games and four straight following Thursday's win. The Astros still trail the Oakland A's by 2-games in the AL West. The White Sox start Carlos Rondon who is 6-2 in his 11 starts. Rondon has been excellent with a 1.89 ERA and 1.80 road ERA. Rondon has allowed just two runs over his last two starts (12 innings). The Astros counter with Luis Garcia. Garcia is 5-3 in his 11 starts with a 2.98 ERA. Interleague action here on Tuesday has the Boston Red Sox playing at the Atlanta Braves. The Red Sox are in 2nd in the AL East, three games back of the Rays. The Braves snapped their four game losing streak in which they didn't score more than three runs in any of those losses. The Red Sox start Eduardo Rodriquez today. The Washington Nationals having a disappointing season as they sit in last in the AL East, though they are just seven games back of 1st place NY Mets. The Pirates start J.T. Brubaker today. Brubaker is 4-5 in his 11 starts with a 3.90 ERA and slightly worse 4.91 road ERA. Washington starts veteran Jon Lester today. Lester is 0-2 in his eight starts with a 4.19 ERA. AL Central matchup here today has the Penthouse vs the Outhouse as the first place White Sox take on the last place Tigers. The Sox have opened up a 4.5-game lead over 2nd place Cleveland thanks to a 7-3 run. The Tigers have lost two straight and six of their last 10 as they have dropped to 14-games back in the Central. Carlos Rondon starts for the Sox and he's been excellent with a 5-2 record in his 10 starts with a 1.96 ERA. He's been just as good on the road with a 3-0 record and 1.93 ERA. The Tigers have nothing to lose now so they are starting Kyle Funkhouser. This is one of those bullpen games where a reliever gets the start today. Expect a lot of the Tigers relief core to make an appearance in this one as Funkhouser won't go more than three innings max. No doubt Rondon will shut down this Tigers team. Let's see if this relief game by the Tigers can do the same. Play the UNDER.

The Twins have struggled all year, going just 25-38 on the season and now 14-games back of the White Sox. The Twins have lost seven of their last 10 games. Houston starts Luis Garcia today. Garcia is 5-2 with a nifty 2.72 ERA on the season. He's allowed two runs or fewer in each of his last five starts. The Twins send Jose Berrios to the hill. Berrios is 6-2 for the Twins in 12 starts with a 3.58 ERA. He hasn't been as good at home with a 4.71 ERA. Astros have been hot and they have a hot starter on the hill. Play Houston.

The Red Sox have climbed to within 1-game of the AL East lead as they have won two straight and seven of their last 10 games. The Jays start Steven Matz today. Matz is 6-3 in his 12 starts with a 4.50 ERA. Nick Pivetta will start for the Sox with a 6-1 record in his 12 starts and a 3.78 ERA. Both pitchers doing well, but I'll stick with the hotter team here in the Red Sox.

The Rockies have the problem that they play in the very competitive NL West. It's basically a 3-game race in the West and the Rockies aren't one of them. Colorado is 15-games back of first place San Francisco. The Reds are in 4th place in the NL Central, but just 5-games back of first place. German Marquez starts for the Reds with a 4-5 record and 3.91 ERA. He's bee slightly better on the road with a 3.74 ERA. In fact, he's been very good of late, allowing just three total runs over his last four starts (26 innings). The Reds start Wade Miley. Miley is 5-4 in his 10 starts with a nice 2.96 ERA. He's also been very good of late, allowing just two total runs in his last three starts (15 2/3 innings). Looks like a low scoring affair with two hot starters. Play UNDER.

The Oakland A's have a slim lead in the AL West division, just 1-game over the Houston Astros. Looks to be a two-game race between the A's and Astros with the Angels now six games back. The A's have won seven of their last 10 games. Kansas City is in third place in the AL Central with a 30-32 record. They have lost six of their last 10 games. The Royals will start Jackson Kowar for just the second time this season. He went only 2/3 of an inning in his first start at the Angels, allowing three hits and four runs in his quick exit. James Kapreilian will toe the rubber for the A's. Kapreilian is 2-1 in his five starts with a 3.08 ERA. Kapreilian has allowed over two runs in just one of his five starts. Take the A's.

 Game one of this doubleheader from Washington has the Nationals hosting the Giants. The Giants continue to hold onto first place in the NL West thanks in big part to their 7-3 win streak over their last 10 games. The Nationals are in last place in the NL East, 8-games back of the division leading Mets. The Nats are 4-6 in their last 10 games. The Giants will start Kevin Gausman. Gausman is a perfect 7-0 in his 12 starts with a nifty 1.27 ERA. He's been even better on the road with a 0l71 ERA in his eight away games. The Nats will start Erick Fedde who is 3-4 in his eight starts with a 4.35 ERA. He's been worse at home with a 7.56 ERA in his four starts. Gausman and the the Giants just too good to pass on right now. Play San Francisco.

 The Oakland A's holding onto their slim lead in the AL West with a 1-game advantage of second place Houston. The A's look to extend that lead here tonight at home against the Kansas City Royals. The Royals are in their place in the AL Central, 7.5-games back of the White Sox. The Royals will start Brady Singer tonight. Singer is 3-5 in his 12 starts with a 4.88 ERA and 5.91 road ERA. Singer has allowed 12 runs over his last three starts (14 innings). Cole Irvin will toe the rubber for the A's. Irvin is 4-7 in his 12 starts with a 3.89 ERA. Irvine is coming off a nice start at Colorado where he allowed just one run over six innings for the Win. I'll take the A's here tonight at home with the slightly better starter on the hill. Interleague action here on Friday has the LA Angels vising the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Angels are in fourth in the AL West, 6-games back of division leading Oakland. The Angels have played much better of late, winning three straight and seven of their last 10 games. The Arizona Diamondbacks are done for this year, they play in the very competitive NL West where they are in last place, 19-games back. They have lost seven straight games and eight of their last 10 games. The Angels start Shohei Ohtani, who is 2-1 in his eight starts. Ohtani has a 2.76 ERA and has allowed more than two runs just once in his last five starts. Merrill Kelly starts for the D'backs. Kelly is 2-6 in his 12 starts with a 5.12 ERA. Kelly has allowed nine earned runs over his last 12 2/3 innings. Hard to be on the D'backs side as bad as they have played. Take the LA Angels.

Colorado has split the first two games of their series with the Marlins, losing Tuesday 2-6 and then winning last night, 4-3. The Rockies have won six of their last 10 games. Miami has fallen lately, winning just twice in their last 10 games and now in last place in the NL East, 7 1/2 games back of the Mets. The Rockies will start Chi Chi Gonzalez tonight. Gonzalez is 1-2 with a 4.42 ERA. He's pitched well of late, allowing just two runs over his last 13 innings of work. Miami will start Trevor Rogers tonight. Rogers has been one of the best for the fish, posting a 6-3 record in his 12 starts with a 1.97 ERA and a 1.71 ERA at home. Rogers has not allowed more than two runs in any of his last six starts. Rogers will keep this game lower scoring and if Gonzalez can pitch like he has lately, this game will go UNDER.

The Kansas City Royals have dropped four straight games after Tuesday night's 1-8 loss to the Angels. The Royals are still in 3rd place in the AL Central, but have dropped back to 7.5-games back of the White Sox. The Angels have won two straight and seven of their last 10 games. They still sit in fourth in the AL West, 6.5-games back of the A's. Brad Keller will start today for the Royals. Keller is 6-4 in his 12 starts with a 5.50 ERA. However, Keller has been much better of late, allowing three earned runs or fewer in each of his last eight starts. Griffin Canning will start for the Halos. Canning is 3-4 in his nine starts with a 5.71 ERA. He's been a bit worse at home, posting a 6.35 ERA. We get a small dog price here today with the Royals who I believe have the better starter going. That makes this a live dog. Play Kansas City.

 The White Sox won their 2nd game in a row and seventh of their last 10 games with the win over the Jays on Tuesday, 6-1. They still hold a somewhat comfortable 4-game lead in the AL Central. The Jays have now lost two straight and have fallen back to 7-games behind AL East leading Tampa Bay. The Blue Jays will start Alek Manoah today. Manoah is 1-0 in his two starts and has a 3.86 ERA. After an initial start where he allowed just two hits and no runs to the Yankees he got bounced out early by the Marlins after 3 1/3 innings by allowing four hits and four run including three home runs. Lance Lynn toes the rubber for the Sox. Lynn having a excellent season with a 7-1 record after 10 starts and a 1.38 ERA with 0.937 WHIP. Lynn has not allowed more than two runs in any of his last six starts. Not a bad price here today with a excellent team and excellent starter. Play Chicago.

The Mets took the short end of a 3-10 loss on Tuesday night at Baltimore. The loss dropped the Mets to 28-24 as they still sit atop the NL East, 2.5 games ahead of the Braves. The are out of the race in the A.L, now 16-games back in the East. However, they have still won two straight after Tuesday evening. The Mets look to send Taijuan Walker to the hill today. Walker is 4-2 in his 10 starts with a 2.17 ERA and 1.056 WHIP. Walker coming off one of his worst starts of the season, allowing seven hits and three earned runs in a 3-4 loss at San Diego. Matt Harvey will toe the rubber for the O's. Harvey is 3-6 in his 12 starts with a lofty 6.62 ERA. Harvey had one of his best starts last time out, but only went three innings. He allowed just two hits and one run to the Twins. I don't see the Mets losing two straight to the Orioles, especially against their one time starter in Harvey. Play New York.

Houston Astros on the heals of the Oakland A's in the drive for first place in the AL West. The Astros trail the A's by just one game with third place Seattle 5-games back. The Boston Red Sox have won five straight games and pulled within 1/2 game of AL East leader Tampa Bay. The Astros start Framber Valdez today. Valdez is 1-0 in his two stars with a 1.64 ERA. The Sox will start Martin Perez. Perez is 4-2 in his 11 starts with a 3.089 ERA. Perez is coming off a strong 7 2/3 innings vs the Astros where he allowed six hits and no runs for the win. Perez just beat the Astros and I look for him to shut them down again at home. Play Boston.

The Giants have now won three straight and eight of their last 10 games to open up a 2-game lead in the NL West division over the Padres. The Cubs dropped into a tie for first in the AL Central with their loss to the Giants on Saturday. That makes three losses in a row for the Cubs. Kyle Hendricks starts today for the Cubs. Hendricks is 6-4 in his 11 starts with a 4.62 ERA. Hendricks has not allowed more than three runs in any of his last four starts. The Giants will send Johnny Cueto to the hill. Cueto is 4-1 in his eight starts with a 3.45 ERA. He's been a bit better at home with a 2.59 ERA in four starts, a 3-1 record and 0.904 WHIP. I like this game to go under today.

Minnesota took last night's contest from the Royals, 5-4. They still trail 1-2 and can even the series with a win here today. Game one they scored 11, game two 19 and yesterday nine runs. The Royals are still 5-games back in the AL Central while the Twins are still in last, 12-games back. Bailey Ober makes just his second start of the season for the Twins. His first was rocky, going just four innings vs the White Sox and allowing five hits and four runs. Brady Singer will toe the rubber for the Royals. Singer is 3-4 in 11 starts with a 5.06 ERA. He's allowed 10 earned runs over his last 8 1/3 innings of work. I like this one to go OVER today.

The Chicago Cubs look to snap a 2-game losing streak here today at San Francisco. The Cubs are still in 1st place in the NL Central with a 1-game lead over the Brewers and 1.5-games over the Cardinals. The Giants are in a 3-way dogfight in the NL West as they sit in first place. They lead 2nd place San Diego by 1-game and third place LA Dodgers by 2-games. The Giants have taken back first place thanks to a 8-2 streak over their last 10 games. The Cubs will start Kohl Stewart. Stewart makes his second start of the season. He went five innings in his first start, allowing one run and three hits for the win over the Padres. The Giants start Kevin Gausman who is 6-0 in his 11 starts with a 1.40 ERA and 0.792 WHIP. Gausman has allowed no runs over his last three starts (17 innings) with 24 KO's and just four walks. Take the Giants here today.

The Tampa Bay Rays saw their lead in the AL East dip to just one-game after losing last night at the Texas Rangers, 4-5. The Rays have a better road record then at home. They are 15-13 at home this year and 21-10 on the road. The Rangers are in last place in the AL West with a 23-36 record and 11-games back of the A's. The Rays will start Rich Hill who is 4-2 on the season with a 3.32 ERA. Hill has allowed just three total runs over his last five starts (34 2/3 innings). The Rangers will start Kolby Allard who makes his second start of the season. Allard went four innings in his first start at Seattle, allowing just two hits and two runs but absorbing the loss. Hill and Rays are a lethal combination, one I won't miss on. Play Tampa Bay.

The Houston Astros are in 2nd place in the AL West, one-game back of the Oakland A's. This despite having best run differential in the division (+70). Compare that to Oakland's +5 differential. The Toronto Blue Jays are in 4th in the AL East, 5-games back of division leading Tampa Bay. The Jays got destroyed yesterday by the Astros, 1-13. Houston will start Jose Urquidy today. Urquidy is 4-2 on the season with a 3.02 ERA and 0.987 WHIP. Urquidy has allowed just three total runs over his last four starts (23 2/3 innings). Ross Stripling will start for the Jays. Stripling is 1-3 on the season with a 6.30 ERA. Stripling has struggled this year to find any consistency while Urquidy has been the model of consistency of late. Play HOUSTON.

NL Central match here between the Reds and Cardinals. The Reds are 6-games back of the division leading Cubs while the Cardinals are just 1.5 games back in second place. The Reds will start struggling Louis Castillo. Castillo, one a top starter or Ace on this club, is 1-8 in his 11 starts with a 7.22 ERA. He's been even worse on the road with a 0-4 mark and 8.73 ERA. The Cardinals will start Kwang-Hyn Kim. Kim has just a 1-3 record in his eight starts, but a respectable 3.65 ERA and the team has won five of his eight starts. He's been even better at home with a team record 3-0 and his 1.84 ERA. I'll take Kim and the Cards here against a struggling Castillo. Play St Louis.

Not many people would have thought the Twins would be in last place in the AL Central at this point of the season. But there they sit, 12-games back of the White Sox. They have lost three straight games, including last night to the Royals, 5-6. The Royals are in third place in the division, five games back of the White Sox. The Royals have won four straight games and seven of their last 10. The Twins will start Matt Shoemaker today. Shoemaker is 2-6 in his last 10 starts. Shoemaker has a 5.90 ERA and 1.431 WHIP. The Royals start Brad Keller. Keller is 5-4 with a 5.68 ERA. Should be another close game, but I'll go against the Twins here in this one. Take Kansas City.

The TB Rays continue to hold onto first place in the AL East with a 2-game lad over the Boston Red Sox. The Rays are the hottest team in the East with a 7-3 record over the last 10 games. The Texas Rangers are in last place in the AL West, 11-games back of the A's. The Rangers have been ice cold, losing nine straight games. The Rangers will look to Kyle Gibson to turn their fortunes around. Gibson is 3-0 in his 10 starts with a 2.24 ERA. Gibson has been the best starter the Rangers have had. Josh Fleming will toe the rubber for the Rays. Fleming is 2-2 in his four starts with a nifty 1.69 ERA and a 0.00 ERA in his one road start. Have to side here with the Rays and Fleming. Rangers just playing too poorly right now.

The LA Dodgers have struggled at times this season and right now they have won just five of their last 10 games. They sit in third place in the NL West, 2-games back of the Giants. The Atlanta Braves are in second place in the NL East, 3.5-games back of the Mets. The Braves have won six of their last 10 games. The Dodgers will start Julio Urias today. Urias is 7-2 in his 11 starts with a 3.61 ERA. The Braves will counter with Ian Anderson who is 4-2 in his 10 starts with a 3.27 ERA. The Braves are a perfect 5-0 in his five home starts with Anderson having a 3.07 ERA. I'll take the Braves a small home dog here today. Take Atlanta.

Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox begin this four-game set here on Thursday. The Tigers had Wednesday off while the White Sox saw their game at Cleveland postponed. The Sox have a 2.5 game lead in the AL Central over the Cleveland Indians. The White Sox have lost two straight games but have won seven of their last 10. The Sox also have the best run differential in baseball with a +79 mark. Detroit is in fourth place in the Central with a 23-32 record. They trail the White Sox by 10-games and are 5-5 in their last 10 overall. Casey Mize will start for the Tigers. Mize is 3-3 in his 10 starts with a 3.28 ERA. He's been even better on the road where his ERA drops to 2.61 and his WHIP to 0.974. Mize has allowed just one run in each of his last three starts and four of his last five. Lance Lynn was scheduled to start Wednesday and now goes tonight. Lynn has been excellent this year with a 6-1 record, 1.37 ERA and 0.930 WHIP. Lynn has allowed just three total runs over his last five starts (28 innings). Should be a low scoring game with these two starters on the hill today. Play UNDER.

Miami Marlins look to snap a 4-game losing skid here tonight against the Blue Jays. The Marlins are 5-games back of first place NY Mets. Strangely, the Marlins have the divisions best run differential at +6 runs. The Blue Jays are 5-5 over their last 10 games and sit in 4th in the AL East, 5.5-games back of the Rays. Miami sends Pablo Lopez to the hill. Lopez is 1-3 in his 11 starts but has a nifty 2.71 ERA on the season. Lopez has allowed just four total runs over his last 19 innings. The Jays will start Alek Manoah, who makes just his second start this year. Manoah went six strong innings in his first start, allowing no runs and just hits for the win over the Yankees. I like this game to be a tight, low scoring one. Play the UNDER.

Battle of last place teams here on Wednesday has the last place AL Central Twins taking on the last place AL East Orioles. The Orioles have lost nine of their last 10 games while the Twins have won six of their last 10 games. The Twins will start Randy Dobnak, who is 1-1 in his only two starts. Dobnak has a 4.50 ERA. Matt Harvey will toe the rubber for the O's. Harvey is 3-6 in his 11 starts with a 6.84 ERA and 1.643 WHIP. Harvey has allowed at least five runs in each of his last four starts while not lasting over 4 2/3 innings in any of those outings. Harvey is long gone from his glory days with the Mets. Should be plenty of runs in this game. Play OVER.
