Young NBA Sleepers To Watch In 2014-2015

The NBA is loaded with young talent, but the hard part is translating potential into results. That is what many guys are hoping for this upcoming year, but a few will have more chances than others. Here is a look at the guys most likely to break out in 2014-2015.

Nerlens Noel

It might seem weird to label a guy a sleeper before he even plays a game at the NBA level, but Noel is not your average rookie. He spent all of last season on the sidelines for the Philadelphia 76ers, but he was able to show that he is as good as new in the summer. Philadelphia is already in rebuilding mode for this year, so it makes sense to take a flyer on him in fantasy basketball and see what he’s capable of doing. He might be raw at times, but he is already one of the better shot blockers in the NBA.

Terrance Jones

The Houston Rockets were hoping that they could land Chris Bosh in the summer as a free agent. They pretty much thought that they had him locked up, but at the end of the day he decided to go back to the Miami Heat. That might be bad news for fans, but it is good news for Terrance Jones. In fact, the youngster out of Kentucky has a chance to develop into a bit of a Chris Bosh-lite. He improved quite a bit last year, and with more minutes, he will put up better numbers than 12.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Houston needs him to be a solid starter, so he will get the minutes.

Jonas Valanciunas

It seems like the center from Toronto is on the verge of breaking out, but he just needs that final push. Perhaps a solid summer with his country’s team in the FIBA World Cup will give him the confidence he needs. He is still just 22 years of age, and he is starting to add bulk to his body. If he can hold up for an entire season, he has a chance to improve his numbers across the board. Not only that, but the Toronto Raptors could be the biggest sleeper in the Eastern conference with him as a weapon.
