MMA 75 DIME FIGHT Grasso suffered the first loss of her pro career when she came up short against the aforementioned Herrig earlier this year. MMA math tells us that Markos beat Herrig and Herrig beat Grasso, but I think gameplan was more of the issue and “Lil’ Bulldog” used her experience to manipulate her overzealous foe. Markos will have no such luck. This is not an easy fight and Grasso will have to avoid long clinches or suffocating tie ups. She only needs to win two of the three rounds and her volume is usually enough to cruise to the cards, so long as she’s able to keep Markos backing up and befuddled and in turn, herself from being taken down. I have Grasso winning by unanimous decision.

MMA 100 DIME FIGHT Morales has definitely got the goods. He’s slick as can be on the mat and showed some significant power against Santella. The key issue is defense — Santella cracked him good right off the bat and Josh Paiva, whom Morales won the aforementioned title against, took him down repeatedly before running afoul of his triangle series. Sanchez looks to have somewhat stronger positional control and enough wrestling to get Morales on his back. If Morales is as content to play guard until a submission opportunity arises as he was against Paiva. The value in this fight is to go the distance. Lay the money on the over.

MMA 75 DIME FIGHT Herrera’s got some solid power, but not much else going for him. He gassed inside of a round against Luque, although that could have been due to Luque’s effective body kicks, and his takedown defense was woefully inadequate. I don’t expect that to change at Lightweight, especially with the aforementioned stamina issues. Rinaldi can take a shot, grapples well and is quick enough on the feet to avoid Herrera’s big right hand. He mixes takedowns and strikes before ultimately tapping his fading foe late in the second. I have Rinaldi winning this fight by submission.

MMA 75 DIME FIGHT This is a tough fight to call. Lawler was a contender at middleweight and is coming down, while Cerrone is a natural lightweight coming up. In addition, “Ruthless” is a notorious slow starter and “Cowboy” has no problem coming in hot. I just can’t bring myself to pick against a combatant who’s merely one fight removed from a successful title reign. Lawler wins by KO!

MMA 75 DIME FIGHT What worries me in this bout, at least for Oezdemir, is the lack of experience. “Poster Boy” may have been tacked by the aforementioned Gustafsson and Johnson, but those were two of the best fighters in the world. In addition, Manuwa’s offense is more composed and he definitely holds a speed advantage, which complements his four extra inches in reach. Unless he’s somehow lured into a bar fight, the Londoner will win each exchange by way of matured, polished aggression.

MMA 100 DIME FIGHT OF THE WEEK Young strawweights will look to dazzle the fans early in the night, as Russia’s Aleksandra Albu meets up with Kailin Curran. Curran is 4-4, which includes a 1-4 record under the UFC banner. That’s far from impressive at this point. She likes to throw on the feet, which is how she gets involved in wild brawls. That may play into the hands of Albu, though, a karate black belt that is technical and powerful on the feet. That said, Albu, who hasn’t competed since April of 2015, showed in her last bout against Izabela Badurek that she has some skills on the ground, tapping out the Pole with a nasty guillotine choke. She also has crazy strength for a girl her size, which means she could ragdoll Curran in the clinch and on the mat. Albu still has many question marks, but she has tremendous upside. In what should be an exciting one, the Russian succeeds to a late finish or decision.

MMA 75 DIME FIGHT Up-and-coming flyweights square off in the Fight Pass headliner, as TUF 24 cast member Eric Shelton welcomes top prospect Jarred Brooks to the UFC. Shelton will be in his sophomore UFC outing here looking to get his first UFC win. He dropped a close split decision in his UFC debut to Alexandre Pantoja, showing that he can hang with the big dogs under the bright lights. He takes on Brooks, a 24-year-old top prospect in his debut with the big leagues. He’s very well-rounded, though his ground game is his strength. This should be a close entertaining fight while it lasts. However, I think Brooks will be able to wrestle Shelton to the mat for an extended period of time before finding a way to submit him or ride him out to a convincing decision.

UFC 75 FIGHT OF THE DAY Fighting Calderwood in her home country is quite a test, but Calvillo looks like the real deal. She'll hang in on the feet, initiate some takedowns and scrambles, and eventually, she'll catch JoJo for the submission. As soon as the referee drops Calvillo's hand after proclaiming her the victor, my only question is going to be, how long do I have to wait to see her compete again?

UFC 60 DIME FIGHT Kalil Rountree finally earned that elusive first UFC win in February when he knocked out Daniel Jolly in 52 seconds. The problem is, that didn't show people much about whether he had improved his deficiencies, namely takedown defense and wrestling. Those are just the things he'll need against a strong grappler in Craig. Until he proves he has it, it's hard to pick him outside a flash knockout. Sound the upset alarms.

MLB 75 DIME GAME Romero medaled at the Olympics and is no doubt a talented wrestler, but he’s also been taken down in half of his UFC fights, sometimes on multiple occasions. In addition, Whittaker has outstanding takedown defense (91%) and hasn’t seen the floor in four years. This fight will play out on the feet. Whittaker is simply a better boxer. He can handle speed, as we saw against Uriah Hall, but to win he’ll need to control the distance and make Romero fight sloppy. “Soldier of God” was able to get away with it against lesser strikers, but there won’t be any stools to save him tonight. Whittaker wins by KO.

MMA 75 DIME FIGHT Pettis is the safer bet, as he is very capable of hanging with Miller on the ground and has an on-paper advantage standing. There is a window of opportunity for Miller to get the win with cage-cutting and clinch work, but the margin for error is slim for him. This fight is a toss up, and will go the distance. Lay the money on the over here.

MMA 100 DIME FIGHT This fight will be a chest match, and will be a slow fight. Both fighters are aged, but hold great grappling and defense skills. MMA 75 DIME FIGHT Both men have arguably the best wrestling pedigree of any Light Heavyweight in the sport in or outside of Bellator. Davis is a four-time All-American at Penn State, while Bader was a two-time All-American and three-time PAC-10 champion at Arizona State. One might assume that leads to matches where all of their time is spent scoring points via takedowns, but Bader has eight knockouts and four submissions to match the three knockouts and five subs of Davis. While history may suggest that Bader has Davis’ number, Davis has also clearly improved as a fighter since leaving the UFC fold, and the jury is still out as to whether that move will be as beneficial to Bader. His wins over Ilir Latifi and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira showed his ability to finish with his knees and hands, but Davis has elusive head movement that makes it very difficult to land a power shot flush, which is why he’s never been knocked out in his MMA career. Relying on a “kill shot” would be to his detriment, leaving him gassed and vulnerable to being dominated either standing or on the ground, and a longer fight edges toward Davis in terms of cardio. I have the 4.5 Over here.

MMA 100 DIME TOTALS FIGHT This is a great matchup, especially when you look at the styles. Yair is the favorite, but I don't think he can pull the early KO. Alex Caceres fights a similar style, throwing fancy kicks and combination punches. I expect this fight to be all stand up. I do predict we will see a lot of strange style of kicks. Both fighters will put on a show. Alex is a mini bruce lee, and has some good technical s. I don't expect high multiple attack style moves, or a slug-fest. I predict both fighters to throw 2 or 3 strike combinations, and guard up! This fight could be determined in the 3rd round, or more likely go the distance.

MMA 75 DIMES MEGA MOVE Derrick Lewis has the task of welcoming a new heavyweight to the UFC when he takes on Polish veteran Damian Grabowski. Lewis is a big, athletic, powerful heavyweight that is known for his slugging prowess. He looks for the knockout early and often, something which will likely be on his mind when fighting here. Grabowski is a submission fighter who will be looking to take Lewis down to the mat. Viktor Pesta had a tough time doing that against Lewis, so it may be tough for Grabowski too. UFC 100 DIMES FIGHT OF THE YEAR Patty likes to fight on his toes, keeping his weight balanced. Smolka likes to fight with most of his weight on the back leg. Smolka likes to play the chess game, when fighting on his toes. This is not smart, especially when Patty is aggressive, and likes to hop when coming in to strike. Smolka tends to strike low, putting his head down, which is dangerous, especially when Paddy loves to throw the uppercut. Smolka's disadvantage is his side karate stance. Smolka loves to high kick, and Paddy fights with his hands up stiff when he is moving on his feet. With Smolka weight planted on his back leg, Paddy has the power to knock him to the ground, and move towards a submission. Take Paddy here for the victory.

MMA 50 DIMES MEGA MOVE PARLAY Today we are laying the money on Paul Felder. Paul has excellent striking skills, along with great knees, and kick combos. Paul likes to move in quick, unleashing combos from the head to knees. Fighting a guy like Paul is tough, since most fighters cover up, and move back, when he strikes. Pearson (17-9) has lost two of three and alternated wins and losses since last year. The exciting British kickboxer is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Evan Durham last month. Ross has the disadvantage, since he uses high defense standing guard, and will get caught up in this situation. I expect Paul to crack Ross with a hard right, and take this fight to a ground KO! Lay the money on Paul Felder for today's winner.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 75 DIMES GAME TODAY'S WINNER: 1.5 OVER Max Holloway is a great stand up fighter, and is quick on the feet. Today he faces a top Brazilian Grappler, who loves to take the fight to the ground. Max will explode on the hands, while Charles attempts to push Max to the corner, and try to attempt to take fight to the ground. The Brazilian has been working more on his strikes, and I expect Charles to attempt to sling them toe to toe. The oddsmakers are betting either Max nails a quincera punch, or Charles pulls the submission. I like the over since both fighters have extremely good cardio, and they are featherweights. Charles has excellent defense, and I expect the fighters to wrestle and play chest on the corners. Lay the money on the over for today's winner.
