Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach 2nd of 2 Free Picks Tuesday: Philadelphia Phillies Money Line (+) @ Seattle Mariners @ 10:10 ET - Make no mistake about it, the Phillies are indeed one of the worst teams in baseball. However, there is extreme line value being offered here that is too strong to ignore. James Paxton makes the start for the Mariners and Seattle has lost 2 of his last 3 starts as he is struggling badly. The M's southpaw has a 9.69 ERA and 2.46 WHIP in going 0-2 in his last 3 starts. The Phillies counter with Aaron Nola and he allowed just 1 earned run on 4 hits while striking out 8 in 7 and 1/3 innings in his most recent start. Also, Nola has allowed just 9 hits in the 13 innings spanning his last two road starts. This will be his first ever start against the Mariners and that is also an edge for the hurler. I wouldn't be surprised to see him keep Seattle off-balance in this one as he has been piling up the strikeouts of late. Couple that with the fact that Paxton's struggles should continue and you have the makings of a road upset here. Philly is 44-50 (but +$15,600) against southpaw starters the last 3 seasons combined and here they are getting nearly 2 to 1 odds on the payback! The Mariners are only 58-54 (and -$24,300) as a home favorite of -125 to -250 the last 3 seasons combined! Value is too much to ignore here. Look for the upset! LATE Free Pick on Philadelphia Tuesday. Best of luck, Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach

Phillies vs Mariners Free Pick June 27, 2017

Philadelphia has the worst road record in the majors, and only San Diego has scored fewer runs than the Phillies this season. Seattle has a solid 25-15 home record, and I like the M's in Game 1 of this series at Safeco.

James Paxton will toe the slab for Seattle, and he's been lights out at home. The southpaw is 4-1 with a 2.48 ERA in seven starts at Safeco in 2017. He's also 4-1 with a 3.29 ERA in nine starts under the lights.

The Phillies hand the ball to Aaron Nola, who is coming off one of his best starts of the season. He allowed one run on four hits, striking out eight over 7 1/3 innings in a home win over St. Louis his last time out. He hasn't had as much success on the road, and he was torched for eight runs on 13 hits and four walks over 11 innings in losses to Arizona and St. Louis in his previous two starts.

Philly has lost eight of it's last nine versus American League teams, and 10 of it's last 14 versus Seattle.

Take SEA.
