Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach Free Pick Friday CFL Hamilton Tiger-Cats (+) vs Ottawa Redblacks @ 7:30 ET - The Tiger-Cats are still winless on the season but hosting a 1-6-1 Redblacks team provides them with some hope here. The fact is that the points could prove to be valuable here as two struggling teams square off but the home dog is there for the taking. It's one thing to get embarrassed on the road (which has happened to Hamilton a couple times this season) but to get trounced at home like they were last week is something unexpected and unacceptable. Look for the Ti-Cats to respond in a big way against a division rival here. Ottawa is only 1-3 ATS as a favorite this season and, long-term, the Redblacks are on an 8-13 ATS run when they are a fave in a range of 3.5 to 9.5 points. The Tiger-Cats, as an underdog of 3.5 to 9.5 points, are a perfect 2-0 ATS this season and 7-3 ATS the last 3 seasons combined. Grab the ugly home dog in this one as Ottawa is so disappointed to be 1-6-1 after winning the Grey Cup last season while the Tiger-Cats won't stop fighting for their first win of the season and certainly getting it against the Grey Cup Champs (no matter their record) would be a feather in their cap. Free Pick HAMILTON plus the points early Friday evening. Best of luck, Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach Thursday Evening MLB Free Pick New York Mets Money Line (+) vs New York Yankees @ 7:10 ET - Steven Matz has certainly had some struggles for the Mets this season but he has been showing signs of getting his issues straightened out. He allowed just 2 earned runs in 5 and 2/3 innings in his most recent start. Matz struck out 7 in 5 and 1/3 innings in his prior start. Previous to that outing, he had a respectable start at Colorado where Coors Field is very tough on pitchers. Also Matz held the Yankees to just 1 earned run in 6 innings in his lone home start versus the Yanks in his career. He'll be opposed by Luis Severino tonight and he is off of an awful outing versus Boston that certainly could still have some carry-over to this outing. Severino has been a streaky pitcher this season and when he's on he's really on but when he's off that tends to carry over a 3 or 4 start stretch and that could spell trouble here on the road against a Mets team that is very hungry to avoid a 4-game sweep at the hands of their New York rivals! This total opened up at an 8 and the Yankees are an ugly 8-19 this season in road games with a posted total of 8 or 8.5 runs. As you can see from above, there is substantial home dog value here. Recently there has been an uptick in favorites getting the cash at the betting window but that won't go on forever. Yesterday the favorites went 13-1 and there were a lot of tight wins for the favorites. The tide is going to start to turn and I expect this game Thursday evening to be one of those "tide-turners" with this certainly being a solid value spot for a home underdog. Free Pick on NEW YORK METS. Best of luck, Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach Early Thursday MLB Free Pick Minnesota Twins Money Line (+) vs Cleveland Indians @ 1:10 ET in Game 1 of double-header - The Twins got hammered Tuesday but entered that contest having won 8 of their last 10 games. Kyle Gibson takes the mound for Minnesota in this one and though he certainly hasn't been spectacular he has pitched better since the All Star break as he has held opponents to a .258 batting average in his last 4 starts. The Indians have won 5 straight games but previously had lost 4 of 5 and last night's rain out certainly could take them out of rhythm here. The Indians are starting Carlos Carrasco in this one and he is off of a strong start at Tampa Bay but the Rays have been dreadful at the plate in recent weeks. Prior to that start Carrasco had given up 5 runs or more in 4 of his last 8 starts. Also, prior to defeating the Rays, the Tribe had lost 4 of Carrasco's last 5 starts. As you can see from above, there is substantial home dog value here. Recently there has been an uptick in favorites getting the cash at the betting window but that won't go on forever. Yesterday the favorites went 13-1 and there were a lot of tight wins for the favorites. The tide is going to start to turn and I expect it to start early Thursday with this solid value spot for a home underdog. Free Pick on MINNESOTA in Game One of the double-header. Best of luck, Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach

Total Crusher - Rickenbach Thursday MLB 10* Top Play OVER the total in Pittsburgh Pirates vs St Louis Cardinals @ 7:05 ET - In 8 innings spanning his last two starts, the Cardinals Adam Wainwright has walked 8 while striking out just 1. That doesn't bode well for the Cards right-hander as he faces the Pirates Thursday evening. Pittsburgh scored 6 runs yesterday to get their offense back on track and they'll take advantage of facing a struggling right-hander whom they are very familiar with because St Louis is a division rival. The issue for the Pirates here will be their own pitching as James Taillon has endured some recent struggles. Taillon has a 9.95 ERA in his last 4 starts and he has allowed 45 hits in his last 29 and 1/3 innings. The righty is giving the Cardinals a 3rd look at him in a span of less than 2 months and he has a 4.91 ERA in the first two outings. The Cards hit him harder when they just faced him last month and St Louis comes into this game on a 9-1 run to the over! St Louis has averaged scoring 7.5 runs per game in these 10 games and I look for another big day at the plate from them in this one. Look for bullpen struggles to continue for each of these teams tonight as well as it was their downfall again in their respective games yesterday as well. 10* OVER the total in Pittsburgh

Daytime Dominator - Rickenbach Thursday MLB 8* Toronto Blue Jays Money Line (+) vs Tampa Bay Rays @ 4:05 ET - A lot of home dog value here. Yes, Chris Archer is a solid pitcher for the Rays but Chris Rowley had a solid debut for the Blue Jays. Additionally Toronto has home field edge here, has been the hotter team, and certainly has been the better hitting team. Yesterday's 3-2 win for the Jays means that Tampa Bay has been held to 2 runs or less in 9 of their last 12 games. Overall, in these dozen games, the Rays are averaging only 1.7 runs per game and this has truly been an amazing run of futility at the plate which has seen Tampa lose 9 of their last 12 games. Toronto has won 7 of their last 11 games and they've averaged 4.6 runs per game in their last dozen games. The Rays Archer has a 4.30 ERA on the road this season while Rowley allowed only 5 hits in 5 and 1/3 innings in his MLB debut. The Blue Jays are very familiar with Archer whereas the Rays have no familiarity with Rowley. The Jays are on a 48-22 run in August games and stay hot here in a spot that offers fantastic home dog line value. 8* TORONTO

Earliest Cash - Rickenbach Thursday MLB 8* OVER the total in Houston Astros vs Arizona Diamondbacks @ 2:10 ET - Yesterday's game totaled 14 runs as both bullpens got rocked. The Astros seem to have their sticks finally going again as they've erupted for 9 runs in back to back games now. They should stay hot against Pat Corbin today as the Diamondbacks left-hander is 2-8 with a 6.95 ERA in his road starts this season. The over is 8-3 in Corbin's starts away from home. The Astros will have Mike Fiers on the mound and the over is 4-0 in his last 5 starts and he has hit a particularly rough patch in his last 3 starts. Fiers is winless with an 8.82 ERA in his last 3 outings. The over is 8-4 in Houston's inter-league games this season and the Astros are also 18-11 to the over in day games this year. As for the Diamondbacks, they are 10-3 to the over as a road dog of +125 to +175 this season. Arizona is also on a 44-24 run to the over in August games. Look for more of the same as both these pitchers struggle early and often Thursday. 8* OVER the total in Houston

Thursday Thrasher - Rickenbach CFL 10* Top Play OVER the total in Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs Edmonton Eskimos @ 8:30 ET - Two of the highest scoring teams in the league matched up here. Last week saw all 4 games in CFL action stay under the total. Don't look for a repeat of that this week and, in fact, the under streak should end right away here with Thursday's game. 4 of the last 6 meetings between these teams in Winnipeg have gone over the total. Edmonton's Mike Reilly led the Eskimos to another win last week as they remain undefeated on the season but he did throw 2 picks and is ready to atone for that performance here. The Blue Bombers Matt Nichols is also having a huge season under center thus far and he has helped lead Winnipeg to a tally of 33 points or more in 5 consecutive games. With Edmonton undefeated and the Blue Bombers on a scoring spree, don't be surprised if EACH team gets to 33 in this game as only winless Hamilton has been worse defensively than Winnipeg. In other words, the Blue Bombers can put up big points but they also give them up big time. Last week was a rare exception as they held the struggling and still winless Tiger-Cats to just 12 points. They're not facing the Ti-Cats this week! Shootout expected between Reilly and Nichols in this one as they each continue to be gunslingers! The over is on a 15-8 run when the Eskimos are on a winning streak of 2 games or more. The over is on a 15-9 run in Blue Bombers divisional games. 10* OVER the total in Winnipeg

Bills vs Eagles
OVER 39 -107 Lost
$107.0
Play Type: Premium

Thursday Contrarian - Rickenbach NFLX 8* OVER the total in Philadelphia Eagles vs Buffalo Bills @ 7 ET - The Eagles Matt McGloin threw 42 passes in last week's loss at Green Bay so the Eagles certainly emphasized the passing game. Carson Wentz is likely to see a little more action this week and he moved the Eagles right down the field versus the Packers in his only drive in Week 1. The story of the game was some sloppiness and turnovers certainly held down the scoring as well as the fact the Eagles only managed a field goal after Wentz led them to a TD in the opening drive. This has helped offer some line value here with this total because Buffalo, like Philadelphia, had a poor performance on the scoreboard with just 10 points last week. The Bills have a good QB battle going on behind starter Tyrod Taylor as Nathan Peterman and TJ Yates are batting it out for the #2 spot. That means we'll see plenty of emphasis on the aerial attack from the Bills here as this one goes on and you already saw in Week 1 that the Eagles want to let their QBs air it out too. With both these teams off of unders last week, there is additional value with the over this week and it opened up at a 40 with good reason. Taking advantage of the small drop here too as it is down to a 39 at the time of this posting. Good weather expected in Philly this evening too. No rain expected until after midnight. 8* OVER the total in Philadelphia
