Sports Watch Monitor Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

With the return of the NHL, the winter betting world is back to normal. In reviewing the betting odds today, a couple other NBA games had line moves; however, they were injury-based adjustments. Today we have a flipped favorite in the SEC and a rare totals situation on the NHL odds. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (355-298 L117D)

NBA – (501) TORONTO at (502) INDIANA  7:05 ET  TSN1, FS-IN  (side and total)

Toronto hasn’t won three consecutive games since a six-game run Dec. 12-21, nevertheless, those placing sports picks like their chances and rushed the Raptors from -2 to -4. With Indiana just 1-8 SU since Jan. 10th and 2-8 ATS in their last 10, hard to back to the Pacers. In addition, Indiana lost at Toronto 106-94 on Dec. 12th and is 0-7 ATS at home revenging a loss this season. Just be wise with Toronto on a 2-10-1 ATS spin out. With the Raptors the better offensive team and weaker defensive club, the total moving from 193 to 195 should not catch anyone off guard. SWM Take Lean Toronto and Over

NBA – (507) MEMPHIS at (508) DALLAS 8:35 ET  SPSO, FS-SW

The Grizzlies have won seven of eight, with their only loss to Dallas at home eight days ago 103-95. That contest has started a string of four consecutive UNDER’s by Memphis and they visit Big D, who is in 4-1 UNDER themselves of late. Sportsbooks sent this division clash out at 202 for a total and those making NBA picks have sent it south to 199.5. This matchup will be about tempo and if the Grizz are in control, a lower number would be expected, but if the Cuban’s are in charge, Memphis could be entering the ‘Shark Tank’, leading to an OVER. SWM Take Lean Over

CBB – (515) WEST VIRGINIA at (516) KANSAS STATE  7:00 ET  ESPN2

After a 7-7 start to the season, not many college basketball handicappers had big expectations for Kansas State, especially heading deeper into Big 12 action. Yet, coach Bruce Webber’s club has put it together in winning five of last six conference games (5-1 ATS) and has been elevated from a Pick to -1.5 in Manhattan. The Wildcats shot selection has improved and on the nights the shots have not been falling, the defense has stepped up.  What to watch is for how the K-State guards handle the relentless full court pressure from West Virginia, who is 9-1 and 6-3 ATS on the road. SWM Take West Virginia covers

CBB – (547) FLORIDA at (548) ALABAMA  9:00 ET  ESPN

Florida has won nine in a row over Alabama, which includes conference tournament games and I cannot think of any other reason why the Gators have been flipped from +2 to -1 at Tuscaloosa. Florida is hard to figure 10-9 this season and has lost three in a row. The Crimson Tide are not much better with their only victory in last four games by two points at home against Auburn as 11-point favorites. This to me is a 50-50 game, which the spread pretty much indicates and the SU winner in Florida’s last seven games is 7-0 ATS and I believe that will be Bama, barely. SWM Take Slight lean Alabama

NHL – (65) COLORADO at (66) NASHVILLE  8:05 ET  ALT, FS-TN

With the second half of the NHL season commencing, we have an unusual circumstance where a total actually moved off the number. This contest opened at 5 and is now at 5.5. Granted, it is not as massive it sounds since the 5 was juiced at OV-125 and the 5.5 sits at UN -125. Regardless, it is still noteworthy and it be predicated on the fact goalie Pekka Rinne is out with a knee injury for three to five weeks and in the three games he’s missed, the Predators have surrendered 10 goals. Maybe this will matter, but the Preds are still 12-4 UNDER versus losing teams. SWM Take Play Under
