Sports Watch Monitor Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

Extremely light day with so few baseball games, including those in early afternoon. Here is the best of what we could find for line moves today. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (90-69 L39D)

MLB – (951) ARIZONA at (952) WASHINGTON  4:05E  FSAZ, MASN

If everyone in the Washington organization is not buying lottery tickets, they are missing out. The Nationals have won nine in a row to have the best record in the NL and four of those last five victories have come in walk-off fashion. So why in the world would the Nationals sink from -190 to -180 on the money line for the final game of the series with Arizona? The answer is Gio Gonzalez (6-9, 4.06 ERA), who is 0-5 with a 5.20 ERA in his last seven starts. In truth this line move only adds value to the Nats who are 22-13 against left-handed pitchers and will face Wade Miley (7-9, 4.46) who will be trying to end his team’s five-game losing streak. For hunch streak players trying to determine when streaks end, here is something to consider, Miley and the D-Backs are 5-0 as a road underdog of +150 or more since last year.SWM Take – Washington wins

MLB – (955) SAN FRANCISCO at (956) CHIC. CUBS  8:05 E  CSN-BA, CSN-C (side and total)

Baseball bettors were right (so was I) on the total on this contest last night and are coming right back with the same two teams on both elements of the series finale. For starters, San Francisco has blown up from -150 to -170 with Madison Bumgarner (13-9, 3.14) taking the ball for the Giants against Travis Wood (7-10, 4.86) for the Cubs. Bumgarner is 9-3 in 14 road starts and his 1.72 ERA is the second-lowest in baseball in away outings. Wood on the other hand is showing why Cincinnati was willing to trade him, being 0-5 with a 5.40 ERA in 11 previous starts. Once again the total has spiked from 8 to 8.5, but the Cubs are 15-6 UNDER at Wrigley after scoring four runs or less in three straight games this season. What makes the total a queasy play is San Francisco successly won the first protested game since 1986, from two nights ago because of faulty grounds crew work and the that game will resume at 4:10 CDT in the bottom of the fifth inning, with Chicago ahead 2-0.SWM Take – San Francisco wins, Lean Under

WNBA – (601) WASHINGTON at (602) INDIANA  7:00 E  ESPN2

To give you an idea how weak the Eastern Conference was in the WNBA, only one team had a winning record. That means the playoffs commence with both Washington and Indiana having identical 16-18 records. What caught the eye of basketball bettors was the total of 141 and they lowered it to 139.5. These teams met four times and three ended up going below the number, with the lowest total at 141.5. In the past three years, these clubs are 8-3 UNDER and we will side with the way the line is moving. SWM Take – Lean Under
