Sports Watch Monitor Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

Afternoon action in baseball saw favorites Washington, Milwaukee and Detroit all being faded, while the wagering public took a liking to Cleveland. Here are four evening affairs on the diamond with line moves. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (54-38 L23D)

MLB – (907) L.A. DODGERS at (908) PITTSBURGH  7:05 E  SNLA, ROOT-P

Francisco Liriano (1-7, 4.43 ERA) has only one victory on the season and that was against the Dodgers on May 30. He will look for a second, but not necessarily with the support of sports bettors. The lefty and his team have fallen from -145 to -131. Despite his record, Liriano and the Pirates are 8-8 when he has started this season (-1.6 units), but the greatest concern is his wildness, with a NL-worst 4.98 walks per nine innings. But Dan Haren (8-7, 4.30) has not fooled anyone this month; being 0-3 with a 9.64 ERA in July. Let’s lean with the visitor who is 11-2 away vs. port-siders this season and 17-6 after a road setback.  SWM Take – Lean Dodgers

MLB – (909) MIAMI at (910) ATLANTA  7:10 E  FSFL, SS

Yesterday, baseball bettors correctly lifted the total and tonight they are anticipating a lower scoring contest and dropped the total of 7.5 to 7. Nathan Eovaldi (5-5, 4.08) has a 6.38 ERA in his past four outings, but against Braves batters he has a 1.86 ERA lifetime (.202 BA allowed) and its just 1.28 in three shots this season. Ervin Santana (8-6, 4.03) takes the ball for Atlanta and he’s 11-5 OVER on the year, but after losing the initial two contests in this series, Atlanta is 16-4 UNDER after two or more consecutive losses this season. SWM Take – Lean Over

MLB – (911) SAN DIEGO at (912) CHIC. CUBS  8:05 E  FSSD, CSN-C

Though the Cubs offense would hardly be considered prolific, compared to the Padres, they look like a team full of Sammy Sosa’s during the “enhancement years”. San Diego has scored two or fewer runs in 37 of their 99 games. The expansion Padres of 1969 lost 110 games yet had a team batting averaging of .225, which is 10 points higher than these San Diego sluggers. Is it any wonder the Friars have gone from -120 to +104 with the way they swing? Get out the rosaries! SWM Take – Slight lean with Cubs

MLB – (929) TAMPA BAY at (930) ST. LOUIS  8:15 E  SUN, FSMW

The Rays took down the second-best pitcher in the big leagues last night in Adam Wainwright in their 7-2 clubbing of the Cardinals. Tampa Bay is playing more like Oakland in winning 15 of 19, registering six straight W’s. With the Rays rallying, those betting baseball are joining the bandwagon and lowered Joe Maddon’s crew from +115 to +100 tonight. Alex Cobb (5-6, 4.08) lacks splashy numbers, but seeks his fourth consecutive win and fifth in a row on the road against Lance Lynn (11-6, 3.13), who has worn down after the All-Star break the past two years with an overall ERA over five. Cobb and friends are 12-2 on the road when he starts and the Rays are a scintillating 9-1 away this month.SWM Take – Lean Tampa Bay
